I almost always find some new craft or specialty beers when I come in. They always have the specialty beers I'm looking for as well as an overall great selection of beers and hard ciders. Love shopping here!

Overpriced store picks, and a lackluster bourbon selection. That aside, the guy working the counter was extremely rude, and we were the only customers in the store

Shelves are still stocked but the good stuff is just as unavailable here as it is everywhere else. The real issue here is the gruff and sketchy staff. I've noticed over the last few years that this is becoming a very unfriendly place. You'll get a raised eyebrow when you walk in and then they go back to ignoring everyone. Ironically, they seem to ignore the questionable clientele just as much as they do the folks looking to spend some $$ on corporate gifts. Equal invisibility for all!

They don't put prices on most of the beer and with good reason. Selection is good, but 25% more expensive than Kroger.

We enjoyed ourselves and the food was mostly good. The bar area was chaotic so it took ages to get our first drinks delivered to our table but the owner came and apologised which was good.of him. Only gripe with the food was the onion rings which were straight out of a cheap bag of frozen ones. Was expecting home made for the price of £4.50. Don’t think we’ll bother again which is a shame as I was really looking forward to finally trying here.

Went to Oades for some specific liqueur and the staff was super helpful trying to find it. They ended up having it after putting in the extra effort to locate. Appreciate their extra help

Hospitality was amazing from the off, being from out of town was warmly welcomed. The food is as close to American food as you can get. Wings were incredible, definitely will be back. Up the Rams 🐏

This place has been around forever. Since I moved out of lansing in 2011, this place is still going strong and has definitely widened their selection! Mad props for the Big Ten!

NEVER go here. I ordered a keg of cider and quarter barrel of Miller. Called 2 days before to confirm. Showed up the day of the party. “Sorry, we don’t have either”. They don’t know why they didn’t get it and no advice on what to do. It’s going to cost me undress in bottled cider. They showed no remorse. Said it happens every week.

Hidden away from the main high street . Quirky building. Good menu, well priced . The staff were really friendly and helpful. Mainly burgers but good quality ones . I enjoyed the seasoned chips not too fatty. Everything was cooked well too.

The hours do not align to there actual store hours. Came today at 4:15 and there is a sign that says they will return at 5. My dad was very excited to look at the beer selection so we went to a different store and returned at 5 to see that no one had returned to unlock the door. Very unprofessional. Sat and waited for a few minutes after 5 and watched about 10 people try to go in. Lost a lot of business lmao.

Worst customer service I've ever had

We celebrate special birthdays at our company and one of our employees requested Big10 as their birthday lunch. Having never eaten there before I wasn't sure what to expect but I put my request in for them to cater a lunch for around 30 people to be available for 1pm. The ordering process was quick and easy and the pricing was extremely reasonable. in all honesty we were not expecting them to be able to accommodate our corporate lunch request, but they did. We collected the food at 1pm from the shop. the food was perfectly packed and they even allowed us use of their thermal bags which kept the food hot. we served up the food (of which there was ample) to our staff. we had, ribs, three different flavours of chicken wings, flavoured fries and coleslaw. the food was some of the most flavoursome I have ever had. the meat on the ribs was so succulent falling from bone with ease. the chicken wings also bursting with flavour. even the staple fries and coleslaw were next level nice. everyone who had the lunch expressed that it was some of the nicest they have ever had. I now have ample requests from staff for big10 to be their birthday lunch. Thank you to Rich and the team at Big10 for such amazing food and service.

Visited a few times and it's perfect if you need something different to the normal Italian, Chinese, Indian, English restaurant cuisine. Food has always been good and have good range of cocktails.

This means the mean dries up almost immediately If only they cut it thicker and last minute it would remain moist. Unless it’s cooked incorrectly and the cook didn’t take the brisket past the stall.

I went there today, Oct. 8 to return a few of their beer bottles, only to be told they no longer accept bottles.

Use to be a great store. The employees were geeks about just anything you wanted - bourbon, wine or port. Now they don’t even know what port is!! Horrible!!

This was the first meal out my husband and I have had, child free in 18 months so had a lot of pressure!! A friend recommended as we are not local and we are glad she did. We both had the Jamaican Rum Bun and it was delicious. HUGE amount of pork, amazing spice on the chips and the bun was....I don't even know, toasted? Fried?? Both? Either way it absolutely made the burger. I'm pretty fat too so I know good food. Will definitely be returning next time we can offload the children

Stopped in to the Big Smoke at Terminal2 and was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of both the service and the food. I highly recommend this place and will be returning again. Our server was Claudia, she was attentive and friendly as well as fast. SPOT ON!

They refuse to take bake bottles they sell and return deposit money in violation of Michigan law.

I worked here when the ownership changed. The new owner doesn’t care about his employees and can’t pay anyone enough to care about their job, so naturally things have gone down hill. He had a good staff and wasted the chance to maintain the Oades reputation. They still have a great selection, but can’t seem to keep the store stocked & customer service has suffered.

I forget my mask from time to time while working. I bounce around different vehicles when working etc (I work automotive). I visit this location often (Old Oades). Had a staff member here throw a huge fit about me asking for a mask and begin to tell me how I shouldn't have forgot a mask and it's been over a year with the mask thing. Let me mention to you they offer them for free for this reason exactly and likely the staff member didn't buy them. Guess I'll walk the extra 10ft and goto admiral instead from now on.

Oades oades oades... used to be the best, not just in the Lansing area but going out a good 50 miles. Hell they ordered me a couple Sam Adam's Utopia beers in past years. We've had many great years. Lately it's not the same. Good selection, no longer great. High prices, no longer a little high. And the last couple times I've been it's not the same feeling. I used to be able to go to the counter and say what I wanted and it was grabbed for me... now I've got to lead the clerk around, no more 'hey if you like that double wood maybe try this'...

I am a firm believer on supporting local businesses...specially right now during the pandemic..... but Oades big ten party store customer service has gone down since the new owners took over...sad to say but time to look for a new liquor store that wants my cash...

Fantastic time had by all at son’s birthday party with him and his friends. Staff were amazing and looked after them all amazingly. Would highly recommend. Forgot to take the waitresses names, bit they were great!

After recently moving to the area, I've been in search of a place that serves amazing American style BBQ. Having spent a lot of time in Texas, I grew a great passion for BBQ/Smoked food and in fact own my own offset smoker to do some of it myself!When we walked in, the atmosphere instantly shouted fun American joint, compounded by the Blink 182 playing in the background (you can't have a bbq restaurant without some rock music in the background!)The menu contains all the items you'd expect/want from this kind of restaurant.. from Ribs/Brisket/Links through to burgers, pit beans and all the sides you can imagine. Plenty to choose from and, after trying a range of different things, I can happily say that nothing disappointed.One thing I did notice, and this is being VERY picky from my time in Texas, is that the meat didn't have a strong smokey wood taste. This didn't surprise me and I wasn't necessarily expecting that, but a true smokehouse (American style), I would imagine cooks the meat at a low temp in an offset smoker using some good strong Oak wood to flavour the meat. It's January in England, so I wasn't surprised to find that less wood flavour in the meat, but this doesn't take anything away from it in my view. In fact, the English culture tends not to like a strong wood flavour so it makes sense a little too, but from a selfish point of view it was a bit of a shame ;)Indeed though the food was cooked PERFECTLY. The St Louis ribs were decent sized (and VERY good value btw when ordered as a main as a special request), and while they were soft which is what you want, they had plenty of bite too (perfect). My wife kindly let me nibble at her fried chicken burger which included some tasty guac, and really I was sad I couldn't eat the whole thing. For the 2.5 year old, we got him the kids mac & cheese... now, usually he's a fussy one and tends to not like much when we go out. NOPE. WRONG. He absolutely loved it. Ate every bite and in fact got sad when we eventually had to take the empty bowl away (after he spent 5 minutes rubbing his finger in the cheese sauce to get every last bit).The sides were also fantastic - the BBQ pit beans had the slight kick you'd expect and the fries themselves were freaking awesome.I spend a lot of time in central London where you get high prices and poor quality food. Well, this place is cheaper than London, and it's a hell of a lot more tasty too. To finish this, I can't help but shout about how friendly all the staff were! We interacted with 3 members of staff (one I'm guessing was the manager) and everyone spoke to us in an incredibly friendly and welcoming way. Even with the baby we didn't feel rushed/pressured or a hindrance (which is the case in many places). It was the American joint feel where it was friendly, fun, great food, and definitely a place we're looking forward to going back to.Oh, and the best thing? After being absolutely stuffed there was enough food for a huge doggy bag. More again tomorrow! Thanks! :)

Been here a few times and it seems to be a lottery as to what the quality is like. The staff are always helpful and friendly but the prices are not cheap which I don’t mind paying when the quality / quantity match them. On our last visit , both my daughter and I had the brisket, it was essentially 3 bits of very dry beef that just didn’t fill us up or taste of much. The sides were small and we left generally disappointed. The portions do seem to have grown smaller with each of our visits also. That said, on previous visits with the family, we have had other dishes inc burgers that were pretty good. We love smoker / BBQ style food so we were looking forward to this place being local. Hard to recommend based on the inconsistency I’m afraid.

This review is for the OKEMOS LOCATION. Stopped in and asked for some specialty bourbons. He said the staff gets first pick and that it's a perk of the job so you're probably not going to find any. He also added we don't like to see just anyone get them. I asked if I could reserve a bottle since others stores I have shopped at will do so. He said maybe if you were best friends with someone who works here but I don't know you so..... sorry. Horrible customer service and store policies. I would suggest shopping elsewhere.

Really disappointed, very young and I suspect inexperienced waitresses, part of the main came with the starter, mains were then wrong, desert came still frozen and coffee still had beans floating at the top. In the end we were laughing at how poor it all was, paid the very over priced bill and left.

I've been to the Big 10 a couple of times now, first with a couple of friends and again with my partner and it's a great venue for both occasions. The restaurant is upstairs in an old pub-like building which is accessed by a metal spiral staircase but it has a modern Southern American decor and is clean throughout.The atmosphere was buzzing and it was pretty busy on both visits but the waiting staff were still very attentive and polite.On the first visit I had their signature Big 10 Burger, it was insane, I ordered it because I had been craving a "good burger" for a couple of weeks and I wasn't disappointed, I saw from the menu that it had 3 patties but I wasn't expecting them to be full size monster patties, the burger was delicious and I had it with Halloumi Fries but there was no way I was going to finish it all, we also shared some of the Ghost Ninja wings which again we expected to be VERY spicy and they were but they were also very tasty.When I went with my girlfriend a few weeks later I decided to make my own burger which was just as good as the first one but a bit more manageable! My partner had the Chicken MacBuffalo Burger and said it was very good.They serve a good selection of draught and bottle beers (I had the Rattler Cider on tap, which is awesome because not many places do it) and all in it was very reasonably priced.We also noticed they have themed nights, for example on the second visit it was Wing Night and although we didn't go for it the food that was coming out looked incredible and we will definitely be trying it next time, 6 wings, a huge side and a drink for £10, bargain.Overall, I would highly recommend and as a massive fan of Smoke & Grill I think they are executing the menu very well.

I went here with my parents for a treat and had one of the burgers you build yourself. The meat was high quality and the burger as a whole was really tasty. My dad had the 1/2 lb of ribs, which were served on their own. I think it would have been nice to get 1 side included or for an extra £1.A good selection of drinks, nice atmosphere and all-in-all a great visit.

Came for my birthday and it did not disappoint - the birthday banner was a nice touch!Cocktails were amazing as always...the best cocktails in Ampthill.We had a sharing platter - brisket, ribs, sausage, chicken, pulled pork, chips and sides. Wow we were so full afterwards....it was all so delicious but the brisket was something else! I cant wait to get back there!

After hearing lots of talk about Big 10, we decided to check it out- and we are so pleased that we did! A quirky little gem in Ampthill, serving delicious food,HUGE cocktails, and lovely staff. I had the chicken and waffles, and my partner and our friend both got the biggest burgers I have ever seen in my life, and it all tasted amazing!!!!!! The only things that I would change would be the volume of music (although we were under the speaker) as I feel like for other guests this may be an issue, and I personally wasn’t a fan of the posters on the wall; but I got the vibe they were going for!

I realise my opening statement makes me sound like a spoiled brat, but generally I have high expectations and am usually disappointed. Not so today! Went with 2 girlfriends for the Brunch. From the start, staff were incredibly welcoming and chilled and my first Bloody Mary was in front of me in minutes. I was expecting an insipid, lukewarm and very weak jug of the stuff - but no- a proper full double measure, hand mixed drink which was bloody delicious! My other girlfriend had Bellini's and had a choice; these were good too she said. Great choice of food and, in my excitement at the Bloody Mary, I forgot to say that I like my poached eggs cooked through. When it came it was most people's dream (lovely and runny) but my nightmare. I asked them to put it in a bit longer and they were gracious and lovely (I would have been very moody with a 'Why didn't you tell me that before!'. Food was delicious, the drinks kept on coming. I think the bar staff were also quite wise in perhaps lessening the amount of vodka in the Bloody Marys (in a good way) as we drank more and more! I rarely can't fault anything (I am a teacher!) but this was practically faultless (red plastic trays need to do one). 100% recommend this place., And BTW, I read these reviews (and have done them for friends and family) and think - 'This is a friend reviewing'. This one is totally off the street. I absolutely can't believe more people are not taking this up (and am quite loathe to leave the review in case they do and I can't get in). Thank you, Big 10 - you have made my Saturday.

this place is just awesome, I'm trying not to go on a weekly basis but it's hard not to! Beef brisket to die for (I go just for this!!), ribs are proper ribs and not a dried bit of roadkill on a bone, burgers are beyond awesome, no idea about the veggies or sides because this place is all about the meat, meat, meat, nom, nom, nom!Drinks slightly on the high end of the scale but you don't come for the drinks, it's all about the meaty beefy goodness....and brisket :o)Well done Big 10 - nice to have an original meat place not trying to be an American Diner from the 80's. Staff are also always, always spot on and very cool. Just love the place and everything about it, did I mention the beef brisket?! Go now!! Do it!

If you want something different with great food and good attentative service not to mention the best atmosphere then book a seat at Big X. We did for our sons 18th Birthday and it was a really good evening. Thanks to all the staff at Big X

Came here today 11th May with my family and we were all very happy with our visit.We were greeted very politely and shown to our table and given time to decide what we’d like. We ordered and the food was exquisite. The big 10 burger is well worth it and is so tasty!All of the staff were exceptionally attentive and very helpful. A very positive visit and would definitely come back.

So helpful. Staff makes you feel welcome, even if you are just there for a soda because the admiral nextdoor has a tiny selection. Insane variety too!!! They have whatever you need from tons of different kinds of ginger beer to alcohol

Didn't even know this place existed until we walked by it, and we were glad we decided to pop in and try!Took us a while to decide what we wanted as there is lots to choose from but we weren't disappointed by our choices.The pulled pork was tender and flavoursome and the perfect ratio to bun and slaw. The beef brisket was delicious and served at the right temperature for eating, definitely go for the half and not quarter.Welcoming and friendly staff, we'll be back to try the wings and cocktails!

Heard good things about the wings so visited on a busy Friday night. Wish I’d tried during the week when maybe it would have been a bit quieter. No wings left by 8:30 pm...gutted. Reasonably full restaurant upstairs & packed bar downstairs. 18th birthday party (not eating, just drinking) was booked directly adjacent to where we were sitting which eventually spilled on to the table next to us. Two charming lads loudly using expletives for every other word whilst we were having dinner was pretty much par for the course in terms of atmosphere. Slow service due to it being busy. Had to ask for sauces at least twice. The range of craft beer looked promising until three of the beers I asked for were off the menu. Burger was good, but the sweet potato fries tasted like the fryer wasn’t hot enough and were incredibly oily. Appreciate that some may appreciate the food served in a basket as it fits with the theme, but it just added to the fairly lazy feel of the whole experience for us. Asked for the bill twice before getting fed up of waiting and queuing at the bar to pay. Wanted to love it, but half decent food served in a plastic basket whilst surrounded by drunk teenagers wasn’t my idea of a decent night out. Sad to say I won’t rush back.

Great food and drink on offer. Menu has a wide choice to cater for everyone and the beer menu was good with some great craft beers. Only downside were the potato skins were bland and the service was a little slow in terms of food coming out but definitely will return.

Quite a few things on the menu not available. Waited heading for an hour for rather over cooked chicken wings starter burger main course ok but nothing show stoping. Service friendly and pleasant. Food a little expensive for what it was. I can’t say I would rush back but I would go again

We were a party of 11 and we pre-booked our meals (due to number of diners) the food was lovely - the cocktails were fab - the service was swift and friendly. We went in early to set up some balloons & the staff took them from us and filled them with helium (leaving us time to go elsewhere for pre drinks)! which left the evening feeling stress free and we felt completely taken care of. one of our diners had a lactose allergy and she was taken to the kitchens to see ing' lists and speak with the chief, leaving her feeling confident that she was going to be able to eat in total confidence.THANK YOU xwe will be back!

We visited on a Thursday evening and it was quiet.You have to go up a spiral staircase to the dining area.No good for mobility problems or wheelchair users.The food is American burger,ribs,wings brisket orientated.A large varied menu.You can design your own burger if you wish with a variety of toppings.We had design burger and my wife had brisket,salad and sweet potato chips.Both meals were wonderful.I am now hooked on a drink called Coronita (Margherita with a corona bottle placed in it to mix when drinking.)The staff are very attentive and friendly.We will certainly be going back soon.

A fabulous hidden gem, nestled away in Ampthill.The staff were very efficient and very welcoming.I didn’t know what to expect from this restaurant but once I saw the menu and the prices I thought wow this place better be good and it was.We were a party of 4 adults and 4 kids and we were all very satisfied.My burger, chilli one was simply the best burger I’ve ever had and well worth the price (£5 more than usual pub grub places)The table and chairs felt a little like being back at school and everything is very simply done but I think this ads to the enjoyment and exactly what the owners are trying achieve. For me it’s all about the food here and it was all delicious.Will absolutely be returning

Went here on a Friday lunchtime before getting the train to my stag weekend. Food was unreal, the burnt ends were up there with the best food I’ve ever had!Don’t go if you want a romantic neat and tidy meal, this is a proper BBQ style food place, got to use your hands to get involved!Staff were great and the lager on tap was decent as well.I live in Sheffield but wish I lived closer as this place would be a regular on my list!

Exciting cocktails, corinitas is a mouthful and yummy, food is good with well sized portions. Very unusual decor that stands out from the norm. Clean toilets is a plus. Very busy at weekends, booking essential

More like a teddy bears picknic without the table cloths and plates. It is some what a mis hap, food served on paper serviettes and you eat with your fingers......not a place to take your mother!!!!!

This was our first visit we had a lovely lunch food was excellent and very tasty, the staff were very friendly and helpful , not sure if we went for a evening meal we would want our food served on a plastic tray , but overall it was great and will definitely return.

We had been looking forward to our first visit. The food was ok, nothing special but cooked well. What spoilt the evening was being charged £18 for 2 single G&T's, a ridiculous price, far more than even London prices. Won't be returning.

My girlfriend and I went here as she had been checking them out on social media, and believed it would be a good experience. They have a great selection of meat, and the burger I had was insane (check the picture). The quality of the food was excellent, burgers and sides were tasty. The price was good for what we had. I had a vanilla Milkshake and again, well presented and great tasting. Would highly recommend.

This was my first visit to the restaurant, it was a family event. We were greeted pleasantly and seated immediately. Drinks were quite slow to arrive, but were worth the wait; the cocktails are very good. Food took an absolute age to arrive, well over an hour. We had young children with us, so they were becoming very hungry and tired. Most people were happy with their burgers. As a non meat eater, I chose the crab and lobster burger, which was disappointing, having a rather mushy texture and very little taste. The server apologised for the slow service before we complained and offered a free drink or dessert to compensate.

Ok, so this place doesn't serve on plates, is awkwardly arranged (due to the age of the building) and certainly not "fine dining", but what it lacks in finesse it sure as hell makes up for in authenticity, enthusiasm and friendliness.As it was our first time, we tried the "mixed platter"- more than enough for two, and a great selection of food.The Beef Ribs were quite spectacular, meat falling off the bone, and unlike so many places, not smothered in cheap sticky bbq sauce. True authentic Texan-style smoked ribs are a rare find in the UK.We didn't get to try the wings, but will certainly return to give them a try.Not a place for a romantic evening, but for a good night out, great hospitality and amazing food, these guys certainly nail it!Highly recommended.

Popped in without a reservation and although they were busy they fitted us in, after a sit at the bar and a great cocktail.Food was excellent, really well cooked and seasoned meats and chicken wings that don't leave you hungry. Nice to find a place that actually mean "hot" when they say hot in terms of the wings - the Ghost Ninja sauce is epic!Topped off with a bunch of really friendly and likeable staff. We certainly can recommend and certainly will return.

The food was fine but give me a plate to eat off any day! I can see that basic burger and chips works ok when served on paper in a cardboard tray but, when the meat is dripping with lovely succulent sauce, the paper just gets soaked through and rapidly becomes part of the meal. Or is it just me?Apart from that, it was very tasty and good value - but very slow service (over an hour from sitting down to eating).

What a great place for a burger and cocktails and the wings are proper tasty, I’m definitely planning on heading back to Big 10 and try more of the menu. The staff and service is brilliant and friendly.

Great service, large portions and superb food. We sat upstairs but there are some seats available outside. A bit pricey for lunch but was a treat. We will return for dinner in future. £35 for two orders of a 3 cheese and bacon burger, a pulled pork starter portion and home fries with a milkshake each.

Simple good food (with lots of choices for veggies) and the range of gins and cocktails on offer are to die for. I think I’ve found my new fave place.

Went today for first time and really impressed. Friendly staff and plenty of choice on the menu. A friend recommended the big 10 burger which is not for the faint hearted but was pretty decent. Probably could have done without the hot wings first though. Also got a free beer as it was Fathers Day. Good quality food and reasonably priced. Definitely be back.

We came today for Father’s Day and we were completely impressed. Every single one of the staff said hi and wished my husband a happy Father’s Day. The portion sizes were great and all the food was delicious. They were really accommodating of our fairly fussy daughter. I would recommend that they think about having a better selection of soft drinks. I think a root beer and ginger beer are a must for dining places such as this.

Great food, cocktails, staff perfect. Great atmosphere to this friendly bar. Great asset to ampthill.

Came here with my wife and the food, service and atmosphere were all spot on. I ordered the Big 10 burger, which is enormous (enough to feed two people!) The burger meat was top quality and delicious - no fat or gristle whatsoever. I've eaten Buffalo wings in America, at the original restaurant in Buffalo NY;the ones served at Big 10 were on a par!The Hawaiian beer, favoured with orange, guava and passion fruit, was also a big hit. Prices were surprisingly reasonable too - we were both thoroughly full up, and ordered drinks + a dessert, and our bill was only £45!In a place like Ampthill, it's not easy to find something new and exciting, which doesn't already exist; Big 10 has succeeded in doing so, and with flying colours! We'll be back...

Big 10 is off the beaten track. Down an alley in Church Street. Opposite the Church Street entrance to Waitrose carpark.Very small bar downstairs and only one barman makes service slow when they are making their many delicious cocktails.The choice of food is very limited. But the portions are large, which is good as the meals are not cheap.This is a quaint bistro with quirky characteristics. Enjoyed my meal with family but don't know if I would go again.

It was a nice day, sun was shining and me and my other half thought why not go out for some lunch. When we arrived we got offered to sit in the restaurant or at the bar but decided we wanted to sit on the benches outside in the sun and enjoy the weather! So we got our drinks served by the lovely barman Connor, (I had the Uri Geller cocktail! So yummy!) and then sat at the table.For main I had a ‘buffalo macclucker’ which was one of their bank holiday specials.. the chicken was cooked to perfection and the mac and cheese mixed with buffalo sauce was a delight! Also treated myself to a side of spiced prawns which are a must have on the menu!My other half tried the Big 10 burger but unfortunately was defeated as it was a massive!To top it off we shared a chocolate sundae off which went down a treat.Overall a great place, good music, food and great service.We will be back!

A great place for a few cocktails with the girls. They were immaculately presented and tasted amazing. Can't wait to come back and try the food!! Thanks for making us feel so welcome and creating such a great atmosphere.

Came midweek with my other half and found a busy restaurant with a great atmosphere. Service was great even though they were busy and the food was brilliant. The burgers were properslabs of meat rather than the reconstructed patties you get elsewhere and the ribs fell of the bone. We both recommend the halloumi fries!!

Visited Big 10 for lunch , had a great chorizo, jalapeño burger . Beer was different and nice . Menu is spot on with good selection of food . Service was great and very nice surroundings. Will definitely go again . Very reasonable priced .

Great location and building tucked away down King Arms Yard. The downstairs bar area has a great atmosphere and the beers on tap are delicious ( Big Wave especially). I went with my family to celebrate a birthday and the service / food was excellent and exactly what you would want for a smoke and grill restaurant. Staff were friendly and the decor upstairs makes for a relaxed atmosphere where you can talk away and enjoy your food. As a vegetarian there were plenty of great options (more so than most restaurants, refreshing to see something more than just a bean burger). Will definitely be going back and nice to see a different kind of restaurant in Ampthill.

Went here excitedly with my family but was not impressed.The service is excellent and the waitresses attentive and willing. Cocktails are great and large. The food was a bit of a let down though.The crab and lobster burger at a tenner is to be avoided it is not chunks of either but some kind of fish paste with a few flecks of crab meat and had a mushy consistency.The ribs are excellent although mine were cold in places. The brisket is simply not soft enough, which was a pity.Portion sizes are good and I can recommend the chilli prawns.I really wanted this to be a great evening but none of us were impressed.Would be nice to have had colouring pens or crayons for the kids too.You never know - My experience just may have been a one off.

The food and atmosphere is amazing ,a real joy apart from being extra busy (kinda expected considering the buzz the place has) Watching the guys mix the cocktails is a feature and believe me they don’t hold back on the alcohol :) and the bbq smell and taste is something this area has been needing for ages .My favourite bar in Bedfordshire go check it out yourself ....warning though book early as they do get busy !

Met up with friends there for my sons birthday. We couldn’t decide what to order as there was so much choice so we ordered lots of bits between us and shared. Brisket was amazing, Mac n Cheese was immense, Halloumi Fries were lush....... I could carry on! Totally recommend the cocktails aswell!
