Absolutely dreadful, arrived about 5.10 lovely waiter took our order, drinks & started arrived in reasonable time, then waited over an hour for the main course to arrive, waiter advised about another 10 mins, after waiting another 25 mins we gave up and left. Whether there was a problem in the kitchen or not l don't know but no one in our section had received their meal and were also contemplating leaving as well.

We just popped in the outdoor bar area in a large family group for drinks one evening and the staff were brilliant. There’s a sign asking if children can stay seated which is fair enough as with the lovely plants and sofas there’s not much room but we weren’t there long and our children are older. It had a real holiday feel. Lovely spot on a warm summer evening. Fast friendly service

Returning customers only to be utterly disappointed! Drove over an hour for lobster but was told they ran out. Ordered the soft shell crab burger, the fish burger and the mixed seafood pasta with pesto. Food just tasted of old oil. Won’t be returning!!!

Excellent food (octopus starters, crab linguine, seafood boil with crab legs). The service was super friendly. We thought the food and wine were good value for money. We'll definitely visit again if in Southend.

One of our favourite spots and it never disappoints! Great vibe,fabulous food and first class service! The lobster roll is sublime and enjoyed with a glass of taittinger champagne made for the perfect lunch.

Despite having had 'interesting' experiences at the OCK in the past, we decided to give it another go, since we live locally and the summer sun had finally chosen to make an overdue appearance. The restaurant is in a great location and housed in a beautiful listed building, especially, when lit up at night. However, in the past, the service has been akin to Manuel's frantic efforts in Fawlty Towers! The food has always been tasty, but mix ups with orders etc. provided an unwanted cabaret. This evening was different gravy! The food still remains delicious, but the service (Nathan/Ethan?) was top notch. Our meal for two was a little pricey (£128), but thoroughley enjoyable all the same.

Had 6 drinks here. 3 small wines. 1 lager and 2 shandy. Bill comes over and is £65. Place is an absolute rip off. Even had the cheek to charge £8 for bringing the drinks over. Do not waste your money here. I will never give this business another penny

Excellent Saturday lunchtime visit. We were sat at a lovely table inside with plenty of space around us. Lots of variety on the menu, food was delicious - fresh oysters and crab mac and cheese were a hit! Service was great - staff friendly and attentive. Will 100% return.

The decor inside is unique and beautiful, especially the plants and garden feel. Staff were lovely, friendly but not over the top. Food was gorgeous. Views of the estuary of course. As locals this will fast become one of our favourites.

We loved the quirky design of the restuarant. From every table there was a different view of the sea. The food was tasty and freshly cooked. The service was exemplary. Would not hesitate in coming back and recommending to all.

We popped in to Oyster Creek for a mid afternoon hot drink with our daughter who is in a wheelchair. From the front of house to the waiting staff the service was exceptional. They couldn't do enough for us . We will definitely be coming back for lunch or dinner.

We went for a family dinner at 5.30 on Saturday evening. The exterior of the restaurant is lit up with pretty lights and the decor inside is very attractive with lots of quirky accessories connected to the seaside. We were in a cosy corner with a brilliant view of the sunset over the sea. The waiter and waitress could not have been more pleasant and helpful. The main courses were extremely tasty with good portion sizes. Lovely desserts and very good coffee finished off a most enjoyable meal, reasonably priced.

Amazing seafood - we visited here Saturday early evening. We were early for our booking but this wasn’t a problem for the staff here. We were seated on a. 2 seater table. The place is quaint and quirky with a mixture of original features like Georgian bar windows against gold leaf decoration. Absolutely beautiful interior/exterior. We had 3 courses, I had the OCK Oysters, presented on ice with chilli and ginger vinaigrette was lovely. Hubby had calamari which had a peppery beer battered outside. I ordered the mussels mariniere which were lovely with a tasty broth and samphire, hubby had the Penang seafood curry with coconut rice. We asked for recommendations on dessert and were not disappointed with chocolate brownie cheesecake which was a first for us. Amazing atmosphere, surroundings, food and service. Will definitely return in the summer to sit outdoors.

I had a lovely meal here today. I enjoyed Catch of the day, Skate, and I must say I love fish if it’s cooked with thought and flavour and this definitely fitted the bill. Eton Mess to follow and living my best life. My partner was happy with his meal also. Will return for sure

Restaurant was recommended by the manager of the restaurant in our hotel as we wanted to eat out one night. We nearly did not go as when we called to book the lady who answered the telephone was quite awkward and tried to put us off going at 8.00 pm saying that the kitchen closes at 8.30. In the end we decided to give it a try and I am pleased we did. The service we received in the restaurant was miles away from the attitude of the lady on the telephone. The staff were pleasant, helpful and had good product knowledge. Product knowledge is of vital importance to me as I have food intolerances and there is nothing worse than being made to feel a nuisance when enquiring about contents of dishes. The food that we have was very nice and the position of the restaurant is good.

Could be much better, the discounted margaritas on a Friday are not worth it as they come in the tiniest glass with hardly any alcohol in it so don’t be conned ! I’d rather they charge full price and give you a proper cocktail in a proper cocktail glass ! Disappointed really but great surroundings which is a shame and yes food is overpriced too.

Ate at Oyster Creek Kitchen for our wedding anniversary with some friends (also celebrating their wedding anniversary). Arrived about 15 mins early but no problem in being sat down at our table. Prompt service by our waiter with drinks orders and run through on the “catch of the day”. I have a gluten issue and the menus are all marked appropriately for gluten free so no issues with choosing at all. All starters were served (Garlic Prawns, Lobster Ravioli, & Crab Hushpuppies) and were all very nice. Also had some oysters with the starters (we had the O.C.K style) which were excellent. Nice break between our starter and main course which was welcomed. Mains served together (Perch catch of the day, New England Lobster Roll, Penang Seafood Curry & Salmon and Chorizo). Everyone said how much they enjoyed their main dishes. Again nice break between the mains and the dessert coming out (Cheesecake and Churros). Waiting staff were all friendly and attentive and looked after us all through the night. Cost wise, it’s probably not your everyday family restaurant but for a special occasion was incredibly nice and we enjoyed the experience. Would definitely go back.

Visited again following my positive experience last time. This time with the dog in tow. This meant we had to sit outside, and it was a rather grey, miserable evening sadly. With the dog in tow, we hung around by the door for ages. Multiple staff caught our eyes but ignored us. Eventually we were approached and asked if we had booked (the place was almost empty) which we hadn't. They then said we could choose to sit anywhere we wanted outside. We had the choice of every seat as there was nobody outside at the time. We ordered some margaritas and some oysters, which were nice. And some mussels which we shared. We had a bottle of wine and a couple of shots of tequilla. Service was good, polite, good speed. The bill was quite high, but I guess we had a fair bit of alcohol. It was my husbands first time there, and mine outside. The outside area could really do with a spruce up as it looks tired and dated, but on the whole, a good experience. Sure everything looks better on a brighter day
