Wish I could give 0 star rating! I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience at this chicken takeaway. After a long day out with my family at Adventure Island, which is an hour away from our home, we were all hungry and decided to stop by this halal place for some chicken and chips at around 10 PM, as our kids requested. I ordered the chicken tikka burger meal, and unfortunately, just a few hours later, at 2 AM, I started experiencing severe food poisoning symptoms, including diarrhea and vomiting. My husband, who didn’t like the food at all and kept saying so while we were eating, is also concerned about the quality of the food we were served. My biggest worry now is for my children, who thankfully are still asleep, and I can only hope they don’t suffer the same fate. I would never visit this place again, and I’m leaving this review purely in hopes that others don’t have to go through what I did. Please be cautious and make sure to check reviews before choosing where to eat. I truly wish we had gone somewhere else last night.

Good food, had classic chicken and chips. 6 piece's and can of Pepsi. Chicken was warm and tender and couldn't fault the seasoning, really enjoyed it. Very filling to, which is always a plus. Would recommend for a decent, fair priced takeout with polite staff.

Any place that starts by giving you a well seasoned roast potato is onto a winner! Onto the chicken... well seasoned also and with a nice crunchy exterior revealing juicy chicken inside. The bossmen are also very friendly and the food is reasonably priced. You cant got wrong here!

Visited for the first time, no going to lie, the chicken was bland, and very watery, the chips were hot but gross, they were really greasy and like the oil they were cooked in was old. I knew I should have gone elsewhere as soon as I entered and it was completely empty at dinner time.

Having visited Southend Best Chicken three times now, I can confidently say they've hooked me on their Mini Bucket combo. This satisfying package is sufficient for two people for a meal which includes 6 pieces of chicken, 3 generous portions of regular fries, and a large 1.5L drink, all at a reasonable price. Southend Best Chicken's Mini Bucket is a winner in my book. The chicken is fantastic, the fries are excellent, and the value is unbeatable. If i could give zero I would. I ordered 2 nights ago they called me to say that there was no chicken and order was cancelled. Hung up on me whilst I was asking about my refund . Been trying to call them last 2 days for my refund but they don't answer. They took me money and now ignoring my calls I've made to get my money back. Do not bother with these . They take ya money and don't deliver ya food don't refund you or answer your calls. Stay well away

Ordered a large donar, salad was not delivered. I called to ask where the salad was and they asked me if it’s okay if they could send the salad next time I order, what? I told them I needed the salad I can’t eat dry meat with dry bread. I waited but they never delivered the Salad. Funny thing is when I called them they said the driver just told them he forgot to deliver the salad. I did not need to call, they should have told the driver to redeliver. Never ordering again from here.

Alright hear me now, this place is a bit of a hit or miss sometimes the chicken is good and sometimes it’s bad. If your lucky to have everything freshly fried then you may be in for a treat because everything is best when it’s fresh but if they chicken or the chips were left in the hold holding area then it’s long. The chips can be very dry and barely fluffy and the wings quite dry and flaky. Their chicken burgers aren’t bad though and their prices are decent but could be better over all if your feeling blessed then take a chance and step inside. Cleanliness is normally not an issue.

Open late. Good value for money. The chicken is good for the price. The service is very good, they are always very friendly and helpful. One of my favourites.

I have been using this takeaway for a while now. For a while, the chicken was hit and miss, mostly coming very tasty and nice, but occasionally tasteless and awful. With the chips being permanently poor. We have an issue where every single time we order a kebab meal, they do not send the chips, and we repeatedly have to call back in order to receive them. When yesterday, I called up reporting that we were once again missing our chips, I was told that they would be sent out, I never received them. On another occasion, the one time I went to the chicken shop in person, I was met by a worker who was sitting on his phone playing games, rather than serving. This workplace does not know the definition of professionalism, I would avoid them at all costs as there are many other quality chicken shops in Southend-on-Sea.

Made an order that was accepted via Deliveroo, was supposed to arrive at 1AM - writing this at 02:18, unable to contact them, number is dead on their Deliveroo account and no response whatsoever, no update, no delivery. Do not order from here if you actually want what you’ve ordered delivered. Just as I finished typing this I had an update that my food should now be “delivered” this is false, rather than cancelling the order they just took the cash and (what I assume) closed up. Again, avoid like the plague.

Southends worst chicken. Order was 50 mins late, cold and pretty grim. To top it off the lettuce in the burger was rotten. Ended up in the bin, can't recommend it at all.

Honestly, it is Southend's best chicken. The food is delicious, the pizza is excellent, the service is fast and it gets to the uni very quick which is nice. I've been into the place a few times and the staff have been friendly, honestly not a single bad thing I can say. Would absolutely recommend.

Steaming Garbage! The floor was covered in ants and woodlice.. and the chicken was clearly overcooked. I also slipped on a wet floor on the way out!

I've ordered from here before and the food was average, but extremely convenient given the time that it's open, especially for someone who works night shifts. Finished work a couple of hours ago and decided to order from here again. Disappointed that they added an extra half hour to my order, I didn't want to be up too late. Order was scheduled for 4:10 am but it's now 4:25 am and I'm getting bored of waiting. I just want my food. P.S. £15 minimum sucks especially if it's just for one person

bloody useless,the online card billing didnt work and when i tried to ring up they said they weren't doing delivery as there was a problem in the restaurant,not for the first time i should say,never mind we will get some nice English fish and chips.
