Had the 8oz home made burger with Bavon, cheese, onion rings and chips. £14.50 Wow was it good- yes it was superb! Dont think I'm eating again today! Had previously visited on June and wasnt disappointed on either visit. Well worth a visit. Good menu choice and Volkers humour is priceless.

Great service as always the service is always good and the Vegan menu is really good We have searched Southend for other places and not found anywhere as good

What a find!! Can not recommend this Tea Room highly enough. We’ve had lots of cream teas over the years, but Bramdowns is the best ever. The homemade scones were amazing. The service was first class and so friendly. The decor and the crockery are lovely, also with the music in the background you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Thoroughly enjoyed it, so much more than just a cream tea. Long May you continue, Ladies. Next time we’re passing by Porlock, Bramdowns, is a definite stop off.

Lunch today at Hilltop was an outstanding experience - made even more pleasurable by the irrepressible manager Daren. A traditional English Sunday lunch served in comfortable, spacious - in places quirky - interconnecting dining rooms with attentive and personable staff keeping the buzzing guests fed and watered (or wined). Four of us came here in early November to celebrate my birthday. From the booking through to actual service it was wonderful. You can bring your own wine and pay corkage which we did but ended up just having some of the excellent organic wine from the wine list. There was lovely bread and olive oil on the table which disappeared quickly. I had cured trout for starter, hake for main and a posh Eton mess (my best description anyway). All the food was fresh local produce, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The most surprising and very pleasing thing was the bill. At around £55 per head including wine and service it was extremely good value for money in this day and age. I would most definitely look to book again when we come to Cornwall next.

Food was amazing defo 10/10 always enjoy doing evening tarmac pick ups just so I can go to this place for dinner.. only down side they are in newhaven not hailsham

My partner and I stopped off at this cafe for lunch when arriving in Southport. On the car journey there, I looked at places for lunch and Hideaway came up in the recommendations. We both ordered a panini - the mozarella, sweet chill and chicken for me and a tuna mayo one for my partner. The paninis were a generous size and came with salad on the side. We both ordered a drink with this - soft drink and an americano. The total came to just over £20 which we didn’t think was too bad considering the size and quality of the food. I would certainly recommend this place for a lunch stop but also if you’re looking for something more fulfilling as the menu offers a rang of larger meals including a breakfast menu.

We stayed in Tosside Yorkshire for a family holiday from Scotland and looked to go out for dinner on our last night. We came across, The Old Vicarage Tearoom and we were so pleased we booked a table. All we said from the moment we took our first bites until we cleared our plates was WOW! The food was cooked to perfection. Two of us had Minted Lamb Pie, chips and peas and everything was all home made. Others had steak, never seen steak the size of a plate and cooked to requirement with no fat or complaints. And others had scampi. Couldn’t fault anything. If you want a delicious worth every penny meal out then we highly recommend. Make sure you book in advance as it’s a very small beautiful & quirky and can get booked up quickly. Complements go out to the amazing chef and host. If we have to travel from Scotland to eat here again we will. It’s amazing. Please book and try, we promise you will be amazed.

Quite frankly, one of the best restaurant experiences my wife and I have ever had. The food was exceptional - a superb menu where each course blended beautifully with the next. Everything was put onto the plate for a reason and each mouthful was a joy to behold. The service was also excellent - staggering to consider the restaurant is a two person operation who work exceptionally hard to provide a brilliant experience for each customer. Well done guys - you’ve nailed it. We can’t wait to come back again!

Have used this cafe for several years, always Sunday lunch and sometimes a snack, cannot be beaten for food, prices and ambience. The present owners are retiring..it will be a hard act to follow, here's hoping...

Small indoor and larger garden café. We were there on a sunny but cold day and the high hedges protected us from the wind. Imaginative and attractive dishes served quickly by young cheerful hekpful waitresses Good quality and prices .

Our first time and didn't disappoint, absolutely stunning food, we had Truffle Aranchi Mushrooms, Smoked Swordfish Salad then Octopus and Beef Ribs Ragu followed by Lemon Meringue Pie and Bread/Butter Pud with Pecans. Liked the way Maria went round all the tables getting feedback and all the staff were very attentive and friendly. Great atmosphere and very authentic. Will definitely visit again.
