Had the 8oz home made burger with Bavon, cheese, onion rings and chips. £14.50 Wow was it good- yes it was superb! Dont think I'm eating again today! Had previously visited on June and wasnt disappointed on either visit. Well worth a visit. Good menu choice and Volkers humour is priceless.

Excellent food. Had the Sunday lunch. The beef melted in your mouth and was really tender. Great service and a lovely atmosphere. For fear of repeating myself the food was brilliant.

It was raining so we decided to stop for lunch. So glad we were able to enjoy Volker‘s cooking. We had Sunday lunch, my husband had Fish with fresh vegetables served on mash. I had roast chicken with delicious fresh veg,Yorkshire pudding served on potato and turnip mash plus roast potatoes. Everything was perfect.

Wonderful place always call in when in the area sometimes on business sometimes for pleasure the chef Volker is an amazing cook and personality

Had Sunday lunch here and was so impressed with the service and quality of food we had roast beef with with eight vegetables and Yorkshire pudding everything was cooked beautifully and I can't think of anywhere I've eaten better will definitely be going back Was told better to book in advance

Lovely little spot, staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. The staff were very accommodating to my needs as an autistic person and were able to separate pasta and sause for me. Will be coming back again with family next time we are passing by.

Wow what a tasty lamb shank, superb vegetables, lovely roast potatoes and Yorkshire with lots if delicious gravy. As someone on their own it was so nice to get a Sunday lunch out. Woukd not hesitate to recommend here. Would definitely visit again when in area. Both Sue and Volker really take pride of their food they serve.

Had breakfast whilst staying on site. Lovely breakfast menu and great coffee at a reasonable price. The main man had a brilliant sense of humour and the service from the young man working both mornings was very good indeed. Absolutely gorgeous food. The chef was so welcoming, funny and helpful. Lovely surroundings. We ordered the bacon, chicken, brie and cranberry sauce melt and a omelette with chicken, bacon and mushrooms. All came with a lovely fresh salad and piping hot crispy chips. Dog friendly outside and downstairs only in the cafe. We will definitely be back.

An absolute pleasure, as always, to have Sunday Lunch at Volker & Sue’s. Brilliant service from the friendly staff who always have a smile on their face. Delicious food, honestly the best Sunday Lunch - tender meat, perfectly cooked veg, light & creamy mash, brilliant roast potatoes, mouthwatering gravy and a crispy homemade Yorkshire pudding with a light & fluffy centre. The beef is cooked so perfectly that it just melts in your mouth. If you’re in the area, you MUST try a meal here! If you have a good appetite then You won’t be disappointed. I would never Recommend this Cafe to Anyone. The Man who was doing the cooking, was Dashing up & downstairs with meals .rushing around like a maniac . Looked so Stressed. We asked him if we could have Lettuce & Tomato with our Bacon bun instead of Sausage & would it be the same price NOT more expensive, He snapped at us saying that I am running a Business here You cannot have have things free, We did not want anything free, He obviously did not understand us to what we were asking, Very Rude arrogant man, We then Left to go elsewhere. also the lighting was very dim.

Table booked for 7 guests for Sunday lunch . As the bistro doesn't have a licence to serve alcohol but does allow the customers to bring their own,we were kindly offered glasses for a small corkage fee . The Sunday menu was varied with a good choice of meats .we opted for roast lamb which was absolutely done to perfection ! Other guests opted for the lamb shank and pork goulash which was equally delicious. The chef / owner Volker was at hand for any questions we had which were answered in a very amusing manner ! All in all our lunch experience was brilliant and we wouldn't hesitate to return the next time we're in Masham .

Lovely cafe apart from poor lighting and the rude owner who tells you when he thinks in no uncertain terms.Poor customer service and would think twice before returning which is a shame because the food is good

Mothers Day family lunch. Can only praise the wonderful presentation and quality of the meal. The family chose a wide selection from the extensive Menu and, without exception, expressed satisfaction with their choice. Personally the Beef, chosen by my wife and I, was cooked to perfection. The friendly and helpful staff were attentive throughout the meal and we will certainly return often in the future.

We have been looking for a new 'local' to have Sunday lunch and had been recommended this place. What an absolute find ! We had two Sunday lunches- beef and pork, generous portions, homemade Yorkshire puds, veg cooked to perfection. I have never written a review on Tripadvisor before but given our experience at The Old Station-Café Bisto at Masham recently I felt compelled to do so!! This very unassuming Café/Bistro is indubitably one of the country’s best hidden gems. Set in the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside, this place is fantastic. We called in for a Sunday lunch, not really knowing what to expect. The welcome was very warm and extremely friendly, to say the least. The menu is extensive, imaginative and caters for all, with some excellent vegetarian dishes. We opted for the traditional Sunday lunch, and glad we did!! The choice was difficult as all dishes were very, very tempting. We ordered roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. The beef was ‘melt in the mouth.’ At least five or six fresh vegetables which tasted home grown, fresh and perfectly cooked, a delicious Yorkshire pudding and plenty of gravy. I have to say this was, without a doubt, the best Sunday lunch I have ever tasted, sorry mum! The meal was cooked to perfection, the portions significant and the service second to none. We indulged in a sweet, the choice was vast. Again, both freshly made and delicious. I urge you to give this place a try. We are in the area during summer this year and will be visiting regularly to try the extensive breakfast and lunch menu. Additionally, the service extends to Christmas day with a five-course menu we were shown, we are considering joining the festivities in December. Visited here a few times with friends and family and always recommend it to anyone visiting Masham. Its a friendly and relaxed place for a quick lunch/coffee but also serve a wonderful sunday lunch. We visited here on Sunday 18th Oct for breakfast. The service was excellent and the waitress and chef (the owners) very pleasant and welcoming. We had two large (and I mean large!) and one small full English breakfasts, one kiddies bacon roll and one eggs benedict, which were all very good. All the anti-Covid measures were very much in evidence.We will return!

Yesterday we came across this lovely place when travelling past Masham. It was late in the afternoon and close to closing yet the chef was kind enough to make us two freshly filled rolls one with beautiful home cooked roast chicken and the other with ham. Accompanied by a fresh dressed salad and some flavoursome crisps it was just what we wanted. The couple running the place are very friendly and in these worrying times of Covid the place was spotless and we watched the tables and chairs being thoroughly cleaned after other customers left. We would happily return to try the other meals on the extensive menu covering breakfasts and lunches, including Sunday lunch. Highly recommend.

We had just spent a night at the Swinton Park Hotel, and after a bad nights sleep and receiving a lukewarm cooked breakfast, we had had enough and left straight away.on our way out of Marsham we came by The Old Station Café and Bistro. the staff were very pleasant and helpful which was totally opposite of what we had experienced at Swinton Park Hotel. We were still very hungry and asked for a large fried breakfast which came promptly and very hot. The food was delicious and plenty of it. If I was ever in that area again it would definitely be worth going back there.

We had a couple of night's stay on the campsite and wanted to pack up the van and have a breakfast before setting off for home. We had such a great send-off! The coffee was excellent and we were delighted with the scrambled eggs and bacon. Just delicious. We sat outside and the precautions against the spread of Covid-19 were well set up and observed. We would definitely like to return to cycle some more of the local routes and ..... sample the dinner menu at the Bistro.

We have been passed The Old Station on several occasions but this time decided to pop in and found it very pleased. So went back for breakfast the next day found the staff friendly and jovial food excellent now looking forward to going back.One point to mention is due to the recent COVID-19 restrictions I found the attention to bio security very good eg, Track and Trace and notification that a table has been sanitised or waiting to be cleared. Very good felt very safe.

Went for a birthday treat with my friend. First time I have been. A lovely place. The owner of the cafe was really friendly. Had little chat with him. Food was excellent W e had quiche and so yummy. service great. Definitely worth a little trip out. You can sit out side if you wish. And seats indoors.

We have been visiting Masham for many years and up until a couple of weeks ago have never been in the cafe-bistro.We want on two occasions for Sunday lunch since the relaxation of lockdown restrictions I must say that the lunch was fantastic a massive thanks to Volker, Sue and staff for being helpful and friendly. I made a return visit on Saturday and popped in for a breakfast believe me when I say the large one is not for the faint hearted.Thank you again Volker and Sue will see you again soon.

We were looking for some takeaway food when we saw the signs for this place. Ended up stopping for Sunday lunch. Our first eating out since lockdown and I have to say it was not as scary as I thought. Super friendly and very helpful staff. We could take the dog in downstairs too and the main guy (Volker?) was super helpful. Lovely food and really clean. Great sanitising routine and the red cabbage was beautiful!I suffer with anxiety and have been worried about venturing back out in the world but this has really eased my worries....will defintiely be back. The friendliest of service and very accommodating. We had a superb Sunday roast with delicious local meats and a great variety of vegetables. Huge range of desserts that were simply moorish (chocolate cake and Eton mess) plus I had the best mocha coffee ever! Back on Tuesday for their renowned big breakfast!!! A real treasure of a find!

This is such a lovely place. It’s lovely and clean and the food was all home cooked and tasted amazing. The staff and chefs are a credit to this place. They were so friendly and welcoming, they even cooked something for us that’s not on the Sunday menu. My Husband and I thought we would participate in the Valentines night at the old station cafe/ bistro and we weren't disappointed, we started with the Soup which was absolutely delicious, then a melted Sorbet in a non alcoholic champagne, which we thoroughly enjoyed, for our Mains my Husband had layed vegetables in a buchamel sauce and I had the Sea Bass in a cream sauce stacked on basmati Rice and veg, both where absolutely delicious, the sea Bass was cooked perfectly, and to finish the Evening off we had a lovely dessert and tea or coffee, the atmosphere was perfect, And Sue Volcker and Amy looked after us brilliantly, we will definitely be returning, and look forward to next year's Valentines Evening.

We were pleasantly delighted on entering the restaurant to feel the warmth of the atmosphere and the greeting by the owner . The food was of the highest quality, sourced locally ,beautifully presented and of generous portion .No fault could found as we were not pressured to order, eat up or depart in fact it was the exact opposite which meant a relaxing meal and overall experience. We will definitely eat there again !!!!!

Having visited a couple of times with my mum for lunch the food has been excellent, well made and beautifully presented. I would recommend the old station bistro to anyone visiting the Masham area.

Sue and Volker (pronounced Folker, I was corrected ), the owners of said establishment, never fail to amaze. Due to time and the fact we were having our house rebuilt, we have not visited for many months. Despite this, Sue had remembered our names and even what I had ordered the last time we were there; remarkable by anybody's standards. The food was once again FAB and very reasonably priced. The service second to non in terms of attentiveness without one feeling pressured. As their business goes from strength to strength, it would be easy for Volcker and Sue to squash more tables in to the room to increase covers, so increasing takings; but doing that would take away a bit of the magic and ambience of the place, and I am sure they recognise this. On the four occasions we have been, the place has been busy and yet we have always felt a relative privacy to proceedings. However, for every upside there is a down. Such is the relaxing atmosphere that one could stay all afternoon, but that would mean two puddings and little work done later on.

Only found this little gem on the last day of my stay in Masham but I will definitely be returning on my next visit. Really friendly owners, the husband being a German chef who makes the most amazing Apple Strudel which was served with a choice of either cream, ice-cream or custard. Next time I will visit at lunchtime to try something from their menu of all home-made items.

This is the second time my Sister and I have visited this café, and on each occasion have had an excellent meal. Even though the food is cooked fresh upon order it seemed no time at all that our meal was served .... must pay compliments to the chef, Volker for a wonderful Breakfast. We called in on an off chance as we were stuck at traffic lights outside and didn't know Masham enough to have lunch plans. It's a nice little place, simple and friendly. The owner and chef Volker was fab - really friendly and engaging. The menu had plenty on, and it's great that the breakfast menu is on all day.

Lovely cafe close to Masham. Friendly welcome and excellent menu. All the food is cooked to order, so it’s not the speediest, but this is noted on the boards to let diners know, and the meal was delicious. The chef is friendly and came out to have chats with guests. There’s only one toilet though, so there was a bit of a queue and the person in the information kiosk downstairs told me to go into Masham and use the public ones... apart from that a charming and warm find on a cold and busy day.

We had dinner on a Saturday evening. Tasty hot lasagne at £8.95 each. Welcoming staff. They have no alcohol licence but you can take your own (just £1 per person for corkage). Desert portions were large .

Due to the sheep fair being on, we could not get parked to enjoy our usual cafe in Masham for a cheeky Saturday full English treat.

We've been going to The Station since it opened and I can honestly say we have never had anything other than excellent food and service. We are not the easiest of couples to feed - one of us only eats very plain food, the other is vegetarian and likes something a bit different. The only complaint being that it's too far for us to go every day or we definitely would. Why cook when you can get superb well cooked food at such reasonable prices?
