Beautiful home made food, super friendly service. Best cafe in Ripon!

I popped in this lovely little cafe for a light savoury bite, but as usual I was enticed by the cake!! The owner was a lovely lady, lots of info to share about the area. She certainly gets her 'steps' in on a daily basis as she cooks downstairs and serves upstairs! Only 3 tables, so quite small, but you didn't feel on top of each other! Lovely view of the cathedral from the window. The toastie was delicious and hot, as was the coffee, I hate getting Luke warm coffee which I have drunk before my food arrives, this coffee lasted until cake time and beyond!! The (I could'nt resist!) Bakewell slice I had was lovely and fresh. The lady even sells jams and chutneys, along with biscuits and sweets. Ice cream too, but it was far too cold!! A lovely little find on my afternoon in Ripon.

Absolutely lovely… popped in for lunch with my hubby, elderly mum & 6 year old. Delicious fresh sandwiches made to order, grated cheese that was clearly freshly grated not pre grated & rubbery from a packet and wonderful fresh cakes. Highly recommend the lemon drizzle ! Super owner behind the counter who could not have been nicer. A real little find 👍

I came to Ripon for a day out and explored the town. Came here for lunch and had a really nice sausage and bacon sandwich with a slice of cake. It was a pleasant lunch, and the cafe has a really nice view of Ripon Cathedral. Very recommended!

I arranged for a 18 person buffet. Helen was lovely and very helpful. Price was good too. There was plenty of food and the cakes were amazing. I received a lot of great comments about the food. Well done Helen. We are now planning our next family get together. If you are think about food for a part go and talk to Helen .

amazing! hopped in this afternoon for a bite to eat whilst waiting for my bus, and had one of the best ham and cheese toasties in my life. they’ve got alternative milks (oat and coconut today) to which i had a hot chocolate- which was also amazing. the absolute friendliest service and willing to help you out in any which way they can :) i can’t thank them enough :)

I asked Helen to make a cake for my Mums 70th birthday. The request was simple, a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream. The cake was not simple when we collected it, it was moist delicious and had frangelico on the top as well. Many of my relatives are cake makers and they all commented on how good it was.

We stumbled across this lovely little cafe and the lady couldn’t have been more helpful. She rustled up a lovely vegan sandwich and fantastic coffee. Real gem of a place. Highly recommend.

Went to this lovely little cafe last Monday. What a delight with the great view of Ripon cathedral. The owner who runs the place including the baking was working alone. She was exceptionally friendly. I am not keen on going into cafes that I am unfamiliar with but we chatted like we had been friends for years The coffee was delicious and the sausage roll was the best ever tasted, huge and inexpensive. I will certainly return when next in Ripon

What a wonderful cafe situated right opposite the beautiful Ripon Cathedral with outdoor seating in the sunshine or in the shade. First class coffee/drinks and snacks served with a lovely smile and attitude from the delightful lady looking after you. An ideal relaxing experience for visitors to a lovely City…not to be missed!

I had the pleasure of stopping for a coffee and cake here just by chance while walking my baby round Ripon for his nap. The view is beautiful, the cake was delicious and the lady that runs it is just wonderful and made me feel.so welcome. Can't recommend this little gem of a place enough x

Excellent coffee and service by Helen the owner, it may be a small cafe but it certainly delivers the goods. Tables outside with a wonderful view of the gorgeous cathedral. Will definitely return.

I regularly use this cafe, coffee and cakes are amazing staff are very nice, polite and helpful. I would highly recommend this cafe over all.

Sat outside on their own furniture, went to order drinks. Owner goes to get disposable cups. I politely asked for non-disposable cups as they are better for the environment and we were sat down. Got quite a rude response that this is not normal and it could only possibly happen if I I bring them back to the counter myself. I don't mind helping staff in cafes/pubs etc. but don't appreciate rudeness. The milk also tasted past its best, which soured the drinks. Be aware that they also do not display ANY prices at all. This comes across as deliberately deceitful. Buyer beware.

Amazing cakes, great coffee, a lovely atmosphere and a very accommodating service. The friendly proprietor prepares all food fresh and bakes her own cake - a magician! will be visiting again soon, thank you (a visitor from Whitby WI trip)

I had sandwiched and coffee from this cafe and they were freshly made and very good. Another time I had cake and again it was very tasty, home made. The lady behind the counter was very friendly.

Lovely little place, 1 table inside, 3 outside known as Ripon's teeniest cafe. Extremely good coffee at a good price, incredible orange cake, lovely other cakes and more on offer than you may realize. Have a good look. Their sausage rolls are lovely too.

Don’t miss out having a coffee and cake just across the road from Ripon cathedral. Try the lime and coconut cake - delicious. X

10/10 Best cafe in Yorkshire. Iced coffee was the best I’d tasted, the wife’s cappuccino was stellar and the chocolate brownie and snickers rice crispie squares were incredible. Will be back.

Ordered a take-away buffet for my wife's birthday. It was superb all freshly cooked and prepared on the day. Very good variety of sandwiches, sausage rolls, quiches, scones with cream and jam. Plenty of food and it was all consumed. Helen very friendly and helpful....

We had a little problem with payment, however this was soon rectified. We had a lovely brew, pie, and a great view of the cathedral

Popped in at lunchtime as I fancied something sweet. A very small piece of flapjack was £2, I was totally floored!! Never again, totally overpriced even if it is home made (which it didn't look).This is Ripon, not London!

Very well positioned, however not impressed with the food. The scone and cake were certainly not fresh and quite tasteless.

Very friendly and welcoming, we had a sandwich and jacket potato with tea, very tasty and filling, only negative the salad would have been better with a dressing, but on the whole very nice, we left empty plates. Thank you.

We visited this morning whilst waiting for an osteopath appointment. The service was very friendly and the scone was home baked and tasty. The view of the cathedral was also lovely.

You can never go wrong with visiting this delightful friendly cafe. The bacon rolls are the best ever & the chocolate cake is awesome. Helen & Pauline are stars I’ll be back!

This is a small, friendly cafe allowing a view of the cathedral. We had delicious coffees and tasty sausage rolls. They were large, had fantastic flavour with lovely crispy pastry. Very friendly, prompt service.

Had lunch at this lovely little cafe today. The food is yummy and the coffee great. The view of the cathedral is lovely, there can’t be a better place in Ripon to sit and enjoy a snack. Great service and nothing is too much trouble.

We only wanted two coffees and were required to pay at the counter. After a quarter of an hour they had not been brought, and were not even being made. We asked for a refund and left. Why the service was so tardy, we were never told and we did not receive an apology or explanation. There were two women working in the café and a handful of customers. We went away thoroughly irritated.

What a little gem this is. We enjoyed an hour sat outside in the sunshine, directly opposite the cathedral. The food was excellent, very tasty pork pies and freshly prepared sandwiches. All served by a lovely lady with an excellent sense of humour - a rare treat these days.

Wow! What a find!! Only had a coffee and a sausage roll but truly wonderful. The service was fantastic, very warm and friendly. The menu looked very good and the place itself was very well presented and exceptional clean. The sausage rolls are to die for and really full of meat and thin pastry just how they should be. Everything reasonably priced as well. So all in all a place definitely worth a visit if you ever find yourself in Ripon and in need of a bite to eat or just a relaxing coffee.

I spent a while touring Ripon for a Cafe with seating outiside - harder than you think!!

Had lunch here overlooking the cathedral - excellent, friendly service from Pauline. Can recommend the porkpie. Lattes were made to perfection. Can’t wait to return.

We had a late lunch here and watched the wedding across the road at the same time. Quality fresh food. Good service. Toilets clean but a bit short on space when the place is full, which it was.

My test is whether the bacon is cooked to perfection for a bacon roll! The beautiful Helen surpassed herself and my bacon butty passed the test with flying colours! I have now paid several visits to the Cathedral View and can only recommend it to all. (The hot chocolate is amazing too!)

We use this cafe for buffet lunches when we have training sessions and meetings. We never have had cause to complain. Food and service is excellent

Its the perfect spot for a cafe. I just called in to buy a hot chocolate (made with Twinings Swiss Cocoa powder) for £2.20 to take out which was very nice. The lady behind the counter was very friendly.

Called in here for a coffee it's a nice clean relaxing little coffee shop with a great view of the cathedral they do a wide range of sandwiches and cakes and toasties and the prices are very reasonable.

I stopped here for a quick coffee this sunny afternoon. As the café name suggests it has a wonderful view of the cathedral. The staff were very accommodating, the coffee was high quality (ground in front of me) and it was a pleasure to visit and sit outside in the sunshine. I will definitely return.

The Cathedral View is a relatively small cafe directly opposite the cathedral. There are only 4 tables upstairs and 1 downstairs, although there are also a couple outside.

This lovely little cafe, with really tasty homemade snacks and excellent coffee, has a small upstairs dining room, also outside seating, looking directly across to the West Door of Ripon's beautiful Cathedral.
