Really welcoming and friendly pub with really good food. Visited with our 4 year old little girl and pup and both were given lots of fuss & attention 😊. Food was really good and extremely attentive service from both Chris & Gaye. Will definitely return when we’re next in the area.
We called in for a late lunch and were lucky enough to get a table straight away. There was a warm welcoming atmosphere and staff were friendly and efficient. We ordered a selection of tapas which were all excellent and portion sizes were just right. Good value for money and would highly recommend.
I visited last night with 2 friends for a last minute dinner after visiting the Turkish Baths. I had the braised beef shin with added Burrata - it was absolutely AMAZING!! I genuinely cannot wait to go back and have it again. The service was efficient and lovely wine too. Can't recommend it enough
We waited 55 minutes for our food despite the restaurant not being that busy and having no warning about any delay. The food itself (when it eventually arrived) was tasty but the service was really bad, with no one interested in taking our order or checking on us at any point.
This was topped off by a bizarre interaction with the waiter when I ordered a bottle of Peroni, who tried to make me change my order to an Efes. I get it, it's a Turkish beer and a nice one, I just happen to prefer Peroni. It then arrived pre-poured in a half-pint glass and there was no sign of the rest of my 330ml bottle, which we were charged for in full. Luckily, I was spared the embarrassment a second time because no one ever came back to offer me another drink when I finished it.
We could have just come on a bad day, other reviews are largely positive, but we didn't get more than a cursory apology or even a thank you and goodbye when we left. Overall, this was some of the worst service I've ever had eating out.
We had tea, coffee and scones and everything was excellent.
The owner was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The scones were the best I’ve had away from home, there was a generous amount of tea in the pot and the coffee was nice and hot. I would definitely visit again when next in Ripon.
Afternoon tea here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Best afternoon tea we have had any where ! You get 2 hot meals , vegetarian option available, and a selection of Siritas wonderful cakes.
Their selection of loose leaf teas is unbeatable, with top ups available. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, the staff are wonderful! Afternoon tea is a must for any celebration or just treat yourself.
We visit here quite often from our home in co Durham, it's well worth the drive. Our favourite please to eat out.
We had Sunday lunch today and it was delicious, very tasty, the staff and environment are 1st class. I had beef and my husband had lamb, they also do vegetarian. I have been several times and it’s never let us down. Masham is a lovely place to visit and the station cake is the icing on the cake 👍 recommend 100%
Always a good stop. New owners have an excellent menu, beautifully prepared food including the infamous home made chips & local pies etc. our waitress was friendly & efficient. A lovely lunch, we will be back. Tina, Michael & Millie the Schnauzer
Fabulous cafe with friendly staff, a lovely atmosphere and really tasty food.
Lots of options, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free.
Everything is made fresh and it really shows in the taste.
Dog friendly as well, which is always a bonus.
Will come back for sure!
We thought we’d try this place, based on the excellent reviews. We were glad we did! This restaurant/pub is excellent! It’s a slightly unusual location, tucked away at the end of a caravan park in one of the quietest spots within easy reach of the Leeds. You’re really in the countryside here, but only 20 minutes from the city. There’s a great, friendly atmosphere, the food is delicious and plentiful, and it’s very good value. Definitely as good as they say!
My daughter has a holiday home on maustin park. I came down for my first look at the holiday home and decided to have a meal in the stables. The bar and restuarant was lovely, the staff were so friendly towards me and the food its self was amazing. I would recommend the stables to everyone. Thankyou for the great night.
This would have been a 5 star review if I was reviewing the food only. The food was top notch. The negatives were: One of the staff who served us was miserable and quite unpleasant in her manner. The second negative was unforgivable! They do not serve tea in a pot! It comes in a cup with a tea bag floating in it attached to a piece of string. Thats the sort of thing you get in 'cafes' or roadside caravans or take aways from the local chippy - not a place like the Staveley Arms. I asked for a pot of tea and that is what was brought to me, the lady told me 'oh we don't serve tea in pots' and plonked it down. I refused it. Later I asked for a latte which was cold! Diners like to drink tea at their leisure and not having to drink it quickly to prevent it getting cold or from a saucer that is dripping tea from the tea bag! You really need to rethink how you serve tea!

Sam made me a fantastic 'Hey Duggee' themed birthday cake for my 2 year old's party and it was absolutely awesome and delicious! couldn't of asked for anything more. friendly service and strong communications throughout the ordering process. definitely recommended to all. You wont go wrong with Sam x
We visited as a family of six and we managed to reserve a table prior to arriving. We were greeted warmly by a really lovely lady, I think she was the owner. The decor is lovely, bright and a lot of thought has gone into it. The Tearoom is spotlessly clean and the other staff members were very warm , welcoming and well trained. The food was delicious and all very fresh, served with lovely salad. We couldn't fault anything, and our standards are very high. Really lovey experience and we know where to go when we next visit Ripon.
Thank you so much x
There’s something extra special about an unexpected lovely experience - wandering around Patley Bridge with friends, we came across Cocoa Joe’s and popped in for a hot drink. OMG we landed on our feet. Lovely welcome, lots of choice (I’ve never seen a menu like it!) and what a fabulous experience. I was offered a taste of chocolate and I chose a Vietnam Mocha - delicious. Seriously can’t recommend this place enough - we’re on holiday and already looking for an excuse to go back! Definitely envious of those who live near by or near their other branch in York. Highly recommended.
