We called in for a late lunch and were lucky enough to get a table straight away. There was a warm welcoming atmosphere and staff were friendly and efficient. We ordered a selection of tapas which were all excellent and portion sizes were just right. Good value for money and would highly recommend.
We waited 55 minutes for our food despite the restaurant not being that busy and having no warning about any delay. The food itself (when it eventually arrived) was tasty but the service was really bad, with no one interested in taking our order or checking on us at any point.
This was topped off by a bizarre interaction with the waiter when I ordered a bottle of Peroni, who tried to make me change my order to an Efes. I get it, it's a Turkish beer and a nice one, I just happen to prefer Peroni. It then arrived pre-poured in a half-pint glass and there was no sign of the rest of my 330ml bottle, which we were charged for in full. Luckily, I was spared the embarrassment a second time because no one ever came back to offer me another drink when I finished it.
We could have just come on a bad day, other reviews are largely positive, but we didn't get more than a cursory apology or even a thank you and goodbye when we left. Overall, this was some of the worst service I've ever had eating out.
Afternoon tea here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Best afternoon tea we have had any where ! You get 2 hot meals , vegetarian option available, and a selection of Siritas wonderful cakes.
Their selection of loose leaf teas is unbeatable, with top ups available. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, the staff are wonderful! Afternoon tea is a must for any celebration or just treat yourself.
We visit here quite often from our home in co Durham, it's well worth the drive. Our favourite please to eat out.
Fabulous cafe with friendly staff, a lovely atmosphere and really tasty food.
Lots of options, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free.
Everything is made fresh and it really shows in the taste.
Dog friendly as well, which is always a bonus.
Will come back for sure!
My daughter has a holiday home on maustin park. I came down for my first look at the holiday home and decided to have a meal in the stables. The bar and restuarant was lovely, the staff were so friendly towards me and the food its self was amazing. I would recommend the stables to everyone. Thankyou for the great night.
Excellent for Sunday lunch! Went after a walk at Eccup. Had the Chicken wings (very saucy) and beef main! Good food (tonnes of food) and fantastic service!

I ordered a cupcake bouquet and was very pleased! It came beautifully packaged, my mum loved them and everyone said they were delicious!
They were delightful throughout all our emails, will definitely come back to order more for special occasions.
My husband has lots of restrictions on his diet and the staff at the Yorkshire Tea Rooms were just so helpful! We went with a friend and he and my husband both had omelettes - whilst I had a ciabatta with mediterranean vegetables. All were delicious and our friend actually said his mushroom omelette was the best he could remember having! All were accompanied by a lovely fresh salad. I can't fault the food or the service. Lovely 'home made' food - we'll be back!
Walked in with friends looking for a hot coffee the day before New Yearâs Eve 2024. Wow! What a fantastic choice beyond my expectations of a hot coffee.
We were met with a very warm welcome from the two staff. I went for a boring latte which wasnât boring at all. My friends went for Vietnam mocca chocca and a cappuccino with oat milk.
We all sat down and felt very happy and welcomed. The chap serving was extremely friendly and jovial. We were offered tasters of the chocolate buttons used.
The drinks came, more people came in. Great atmosphere! My mate said his drink was Life changing. My latte turned into the Best latte Iâve ever had. We could have stayed much longer after our drinks were drunk. I even suggested another round but we had to move on. We all said the drinks and the shop were the best ever. Jealous of the locals who get to go in regularly. Highly recommended!
Needed some takeaway sandwiches and had read that Thug were the best, plus they do gluten free options. We got a gluten free curried chicken and a 'normal' KFCaesar sandwich. Both were delicious and crammed full of filling. The gluten free bread was also very good.
Just called in Burton Leonard village pub on my way home and met the family for dinner had a great reception from the landlord and landlady from the Royal Oak the service and atmosphere was outstanding and the food quality was absolutely amazing I personally had a homemade curry with poppadoms and mango chutney to start followed by a authentic spiced Madras with rice and chips with a plain naan bread the taste was amazing and I have honestly got to say I enjoyed it more than most Indian restaurants I have eaten at and I have eaten at many nice restaurants please try you won't be disappointed beers kept well too đ
Just wonderful, walked in to a busy coffee shop with great service and coffee. Stayed for a while whilst doing emails and waiting for a friend. Just a great experience
Cannot recommend Where thereâs Smoke highly enough. Beautiful place, fabulous food but not at all pretentious. The team were great, informative and interested in your experience. Really glad that we are close enough to visit again!

A hidden gem in Spofforth just outside Wetherby. Amazing food at reasonable prices. Went two week ago going again this week. Canât wait to try Sunday lunch. Wine reasonably priced also. 10/10 Spofforth Bistro. I had chicken a la crème and my friend had the seabass both were tasty, good sized portions and presented wonderfully. A must for Italian/ Mediterranean food.
