First visit. An historic, Victorian walled garden which was once part of the Bishop’s garden, now the area is used as a charity supporting adults and young people with learning disabilities. The whole site is lovely and well maintained. Healthy looking plants for sale, cafe and shop, children’s play area and a woodland walk as well as an apple orchard. 🍏💚

Had a walk up to the walled garden as I have recently moved to the area. What a lovely place. So relaxing and lovely for coffee. I will be a regular. Good selection of plants. Just beautiful.

The cafe itself is good, more a tea and cakes cafe than a full English breakfast type, although limited hot food is served. The problem is that many (adult) cyclist who frequent this cafe, the vast, vast majority cycle all the way up to the cafe despite it being inside a small park with narrow paths and a signposted no cycling policy. With a toddler and an infirm mother in law thier selifish behaviour ruined our visit to both the park and cafe.

My daughter always takes me here when we are in Ripon as she knows how much I love it. The food is homemade and not expensive. I had the cheese and cauliflower soup which was absolutely delicious. I also had a tuna sandwich in brown bread accompanied by a fresh side salad of crisp lettuce, cherry tomatoes, celery, radish and peppers with salad dressing. My daughter had the soup and a homemade warm cheese scone. We didn't have room for a sweet. I absolutely love this place and strongly recommend it.

What a wonderful surprise. We decided to buy our Christmas tree here to support this wonderful charity and decided to have some tea, coffee and cake. The cafe is lovely and allow for 'well behaved' dogs. The Christmas cake with wensleydale was scrumptious. We bought some to take home with Christmas pudding scones and jam. We will definitely be back and with friends. Treat yourself and help this charity too!

Stopped here for breakfast whilst travelling for work - they open at 9:30 am. Fantastic service, Home made cakes and other goodies using produce from the walled garden. A great charity providing employment for people with special needs. Food is very reasonably priced, and delicious! Was so good I got them to make a packed lunch to take away as well!

What a delightful place to visit. We called during our stay with friends in Ripon and had a delightful lunch in the garden. The pork & apple plait was a delight (so say the ladies) and my gardeners lunch was superb. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The orchard is great with trees named and a pleasant walk around. Just had lunch back at home in South Gloucestershire and the Walled Garden piccalilli is very good!

On a recent trip to Ripon, finally added Ripon Walled Garden to our places to visit list. A small car park and free entry. Delightful orchard area with arbours/benches and table and chairs to sit outdoors. Loved the decorative wood and stained glass carvings and the wooden train planter. The garden lookout with wooden kitchen and a selection of children's garden tools in a mulch play area looks so much fun for little ones. There are a variety of plants for sale and wooden bird tables ( our eyes were drawn to the ones with added plant shelves) A small shop sells home made produce(jams/honey etc, some with apples from the orchard) There are a small selection of cards/and gifts too - loved the bee hive painted bug house! We had lunch there. Husband chose a gardeners lunch consisting of pork pie/ham/chunk of fresh brown bread/cheese/ pickled onion/coleslaw and side salad/home made chutney. I opted for the sausage and apple plait..and was not disappointed. Tasty sausage and apple wrapped in flaky pastry, with no gaps in between filing and pastry! Served with side salad (the carrot was delicious with rasins and apple added and a moist dressing) and coleslaw. We cleared our plates and left feeling very full. Washed down with a pot of tea for two and hot water available free for a top up. Staff were friendly/chatty but not intrusive. Will definitely return ...and have lunch...got my eye on a couple of purchases too - just figuring out where to put them! A delight!

Went to the Walked Garden to buy plants and as it was such a lovely afternoon I sat outside for lunch. My Egg Mayo sandwiches were delicious and fresh. Served with salad leaves, coleslaw and a lovely Carrot and Orange salad. I sat outside on the deck of the Taroom which is a 'log cabin' overlooking the garden and children's play area. There's a little shop selling various items including some bespoke pottery, only available at the Walls Garden.

Been meaning to visit this garden for years so i recently brought my elderley mother here on a warm sunny day.Free to enter the walled garden and the cafe is very good although the prices could be cheaper! But i suppose it is a charity. We sat outside and its a nice sun trap. The scones are very nice! We had a little walk round the garden and bought some plants.

This place had been recommended to us so we took a leisurely stroll from home and found this lovely hidden gem just off the Ripon to Masham Road.A lovely walled garden run by a local charity with a woodland walk, an orchard and a beautiful garden. We took lunch and had some lovely food; a home-made sausage and apple plait and a farmhouse lunch, both were very nice. We had a pot of tea for two and home made lemon cake and flapjack all for just £20 for the two. Very good value and lovely friendly staff. Will definitely return and it looks like I may be joining their team as a volunteer.

On our way to tree top nets we discovered this lovely cafe situated within the walled garden. A warm welcome was quickly followed by warming hot chocolate and delicious bacon sandwich. The cakes looked delicious and will need to plan a return visit.

Stopped here for a quick snack after walking round Studley Royal. Staff helpful and friendly. I was unsure if I would like the soup so they brought me a sample to taste (mushroom and stilton). Very tasty! Served with bread and butter. I will go back.

What a find!! We had such a great lunch here sat under the fruit trees in the sunshine. I can’t believe we haven’t been here before! It’s a lovely place to visit, especially on a Summer’s day. Good atmosphere, great menu choices, very friendly staff and everything was fresh and tasty. The apple juice (made from the Walled Gardens own apples) was simply amazing- it tasted so natural. It’s a lovely place that supports the community too.

We visited here and had lunch in the cafe. We were greeted my friendly staff. I ordered the pea and ham soup and my husband had the ham sandwich. The food was lovely and the vegetables and salads used came from the gardens. Beautiful food and we thought the prices were good. We had the chocolate and raspberry brownie (which was amazing!) And my husband had a flapjack which was so good he got a 2nd one to take home with him. We enjoyed looking around the orchard afterwards. Everyone working there were really friendly and helpful.

We visited here for the first time as we had seen the apple day advertised. It was a lovely sunny day with lots of people visiting the free advent. There was apple pressing, stalls apples for sale, apple tasting and Morris dancers. We had a walk round the small walled garden and viewed the plant sales, and joined in with all the apple activities. We then finished the day with some apple themed food from the cafe. My word! the food is amazing and I highly recommend this place. The food is good quality and you will not be disappointed. The chutney that accompanied the cheese scone was amazing and when asked if they sell it unfortunately they don’t it’s all homemade on site using the fruit grown there but they are emailing the recipe out to us. Highly recommend a visit here.

We've just had lunch at the Ripon Walled Garden Cafe. The sausage and apple plait was great, and the salad was one of the cleanest and freshest I think I've ever had. Plot-to-Plate in action! When we've been before, the kids loved the cakes - the scones are brilliant - and the garden itself is just great to wander around it. All in all, a real gem!

We love visiting the gardens especially when they have home grown veg for sale.We usually have a coffee and scone after browsing around and buying a few plantsIt's a very worthwhile community project which we are very happy to support. Would just say however that we find the prices quite steep even for good quality food and some might find this off putting. We had visited Betty's at Harlow Carr Gardens the day before and the prices were comparable.

Went to see Chris although he has apparently moved on which is a shame to called in coffee and a scone. Run by volunteers and the food and coffee is divine and very good service. Sat outside and enjoyed the bustling gardens. A great way to spend an hour. Would recommend.

Being disabled and in a wheelchair, I have to be careful where I go. But there were no problems with the Walled Garden Restaurant. They have a ramp up to the restaurant and I was able to get up it easily on my own. My husband and I had their home-made soup (which was wonderful) and home-made cheese scones and cakes. All made with ingredients that are grown in the adjoining garden. The ambience is lovely, and staff are wonderful and the food - well - you can`t get better elsewhere. I highly recommend this lovely place, please come and support this venture

After finding out about this new Hong Kong cafe in the Stray Ferret news, we decided to pay a visit for lunch. The menu was limited but boy, the food was exceptional! We had the fried dumplings and the prawn tempura with curry & rice, accompanied with milk tea. We’ll definitely go back and recommend you seek out.

Amazing. I am working my way round the granolas and bircher mueslis of Harrogate and Leeds and this one might have just taken top spot! The granola is delicious, chia yoghurt also, and so much fresh fruit. None of the compote nonsense so many places are providing! My friend had the pancakes which I also tasted and will be ordering next time (preferably tomorrow as I can't wait to go back) as they were so tasty (and not too sweet). The more savoury dishes looked excellent too. Staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly. The kitchen is open so you can see exactly what's going on and smell the delicious smells. The whole place is light, airy and clean. Great soap in the loos too! If I could rate it higher I would. My new favourite place. See you in there whilst I work my way through the entire menu.

Stopped at the tearoom for lunch during a visit to Ripon. My wife had the savoury cream tea. It was the best scone she has ever had, delicious. I had the ham and cheese toastie. This was also delicious, better than any offering I've made myself. Definitely worth a visit.

The atmosphere was chilled and fairly quite. The menu quality ha a variety amazing options to choose for example the latte was £3.20. We had exceptional service from Euan and Iona! The hygiene was 10 out of 10 cleaning service state of the art. The prices are reasonable and not to expensive compared to the other cafes. Accessible wheel chairs is very good they can manage to get in and out to go through a magical a garden to chill out and have amazing time with their drinks! overall very outstanding service and definitely come back and we will look forward to see you again soon.
