Oliveta in Harrogate

This is such a beautiful restaurant, the food was stunning and spectacular! I deeply recommend this restaurant to everyone in Yorkshire! 😃

We were the only people in the restaurant that evening. Service was very friendly chatty but not overbearing. We learnt a little about Albanian food and growing olive trees in the UK. We really enjoyed the food that had clealy been carefully prepared and the menu had some intresting options. Highly recommended for a special dining experience.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Oliveta, our first time dining there. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere from the second you walk in and the staff were all really lovely, all bringing personality to the service. This complemented the delicious food perfectly. We shared the Calamari and King Prawns to start. Both were superb, the sauce with the prawns was phenomenal with the chilli bringing a touch of warmth to it. We were undecided whether or not the Oliveta platter would be sufficient to share as a main but chose to go for it as we figured we could have a dessert as well.... We couldn't have a dessert as the platter was so good and of such a size that we just couldn't manage any more, so we'll have to try the Baklava next time now! Everything on the platter was gorgeous; the gyros was exceptional and the lamb beautifully cooked to order. In summary, we can't wait to go back again. The food is all freshly cooked from scratch, and it shows. This is no fast food joint, and they quite rightly take pride in what they serve. Thank you all for a really lovely evening and we look forward to seeing you for another meal soon.

We came here for the first time on a visit to Harrogate. The food, atmosphere and friendliness of the staff were all first class. The prawns starter and goulash main meal were both excellent and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and attentive. Prices were also very reasonable for the quality of the food. Would definitely recommend.

Simply one of the best places I’ve been in my life! From the second you coming in stuff meeting you with such a nice attitude and set mood for the evening. Drinks and food was 11/10, delicious and fresh. Lovely atmosphere, was really sad so to leave! Finish with limoncello on the house - perfect night out for our anniversary❤️ Will come back every time we in Harrogate, thank you for amazing experience!

We have eaten in most of the restaurants in Harrogate but this was our first visit to Oliveta, to celebrate a family birthday. This family run restaurant is first class and I would not hesitate to recommend it. The restaurant has a nice relaxed feel like a Greek taverna and the owner was very friendly and could not do enough to make us feel welcome.The menu, made up of Mediterranean cuisine is nicely varied with a good wine selection. All of our dishes - Calamari, Chicken Cacciatore , and Tave Kosi (a traditional Albanian dish of lamb, rice, yoghurt and eggs) were beautifully prepared and delicious. We finished off with the Baklava and a complementary glass of Limocello. This was our first visit but it certainly won’t be our last.

First time this evening beautiful clean restaurant, amazing staff and absolutely fabulous food. Wish I had known about this restaurant sooner, will be visiting again very soon.

This place was really nice, we shared the bruschetta for starters and I tried an Albanian dish called "Tave kosi". This consists of 2 large chunks of lamb with rice, egg and yoghurt and i really enjoyed this dish. The service was good and the main guy on the door was very pleasant and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place

Easy to say amazing! Fantastic etc! Not easy to deliver. First off the welcome and service from Kote and his daughter was first rate. Food authentic and uncomplicated. Traditional Mediterranean fare with a friendly Albanian twist. Excellent wine knowledge, large portions, delicious homemade deserts. Enjoyed our chat at the end about the history of Albania from a proud Albanian. Would recommend.

We went in December 2024,, however due to a bereavement we didn’t write a review. The food was delicious and service perfect. The surroundings are somewhat eclectic which only adds to the atmosphere. I had the Goulash which was very nice, larger chunks of beef so they didn’t reduce down too much during the long cooking process. Often the beef shrinks with these types of dishes. Don’t expect Greek, it’s Mediterranean food although there are many similarities. I always think the test for a good restaurant is would you go again, yes we would.

Food is fresh and tasty, a real shame they were quiet (i'm sure its due to the freezing weather). Lovely atmosphere even though we were one of the few tables there. Great service too and we even had a chat with the chef. Highly recommended.

The restaurant is super clean and cozy. Albanian traditional details make it look very interesting and it’s a great way to promote/introduce a different culture in the area. Food is AMAZING 🤩 super tasty and affordable.( the food was gone before we got a chance to take some pictures) 😂 The family who runs the restaurant are the most beautiful (in&out) people we have met in a long time. We felt well looked after and had a great experience dinning in. Highly recommend OLIVETA as a great restaurant to dine. beautiful place - family run and so friendly - the place is spotlessly clean and the food is wonderfully fresh and authentic- the Tiramasu was home made and absolutely devine - be sure to ask for a little jug of pouring cream with it and you will be in heaven!

Nice restaurant in Harrogate specialising in Mediterranean food. Very tasty Burek to start and a traditional Albanian dish for my main course. Both very tasty and good sized portions. Attentive and friendly staff. Recommend.

What a great restaurant. Everything first class. The menu has a really good selection which makes it difficult to choose, but rest assured whatever you choose, you won't get food envy, because all the dishes are lovely and came out piping hot, on preheated plates. Service was attentive and friendly. Highly recommended.

Had a great meal at Oliveta with delicious tasting Mediterranean food. The owner and his daughter were delightful, helpful and friendly. All in all a lovely meal and we left feeling very satisfied and full. Would most certainly be happy to revisit when next in Harrogate.

Absolutely gem of a restaurant. We booked a table through the online booking service on a Thursday night for 8:45pm Very friendly owner and lovely family run business. We ordered the Fergese starter and Tave Kosi for main. Food was piping hot, and the taste was amazing. Will definitely make it a place to return when in Harrogate again.

Decided to give this place a try after reading all of these great reviews. Even though it was quiet it did not lack atmosphere with greek music transporting us right back to Athens. Definitely recommend you give them a try, this food is not to be missed...

Came here late on a Wednesday evening and were so impressed with everything. We had the beef and vegetables stuffed peppers to start, definitely big enough to share and so warming. For the mains I had the sea bass and my boyfriend had the chicken cacciatore. Both were incredible and both plates completely clean despite being so full. Such a lovely family ran business, we spoke briefly with the chef too who was lovely and the service was so personal and fun. Our whole experience was wonderful and free limoncello at the end! Really recommend for family home cooked food and amazing service.

We visited this restaurant based on the previous reviews. We weren't disappointed. It was very quiet as it was a Sunday night. The food and the service were excellent. We certainly recommend this restaurant and will return sometime in the future.

Nice Albanian resteraunt in Harrogate and reasonably priced. Great atmosphere with host presume owner interacting with customers A double gin and tonic with a choice of gins included the flavoured gins at 9.50 was nice. The chicken cacciatore is a good dish, nice authentic resteraunt 10 min walk from convention centre

Oliveta is a lovely family run restaurant with good food and great service. The Albanian menu brings flavours familiar to those who have eaten Greek or central European food.

Oliveta is a fantastic family run restaurant that looked after our party of 14 superbly on a busy Thursday night. The food is authentic and first class and the portion sizes are generous. Highly recommended if you’re staying in Harrogate.

Easy booking & confirmation online with this restaurant. This was our first visit to this family-owned, extremely pleasant, restaurant. First Course: Calamari Fritti & Speca te mbushur Ve; all fresh ingredients, nicely presented. Main: Traditional tave kosi & Lamb leg roast fshati; both dishes nicely cooked, and presented. We drank a very good house red wine from Puglia Italy. The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The food delicious and the atmosphere relaxed. Really recommend a visit to this restaurant for honest, well cooked food and wine.

First visit and definitely not the last! A birthday lunch. We had the Traditional tave kosi and Perime Zgare & Haloumi, both really really flavoursome and good portions. The variety of olives in the olive starter was really great. All in all a very good visit with great service too.

Booked here last minute and so pleased we did. Food is amazing. Would definitely recommend the lamb shank, served with a fantastic broth full of flavour. The homemade baklava was one of the best I’ve had! Service was excellent and very friendly atmosphere. Will certainly be back soon.

the food here is amazing, it’s the best authentic albanian food you can have outside of albania :) the staff are so so friendly and welcoming, i heavily recommend! the lamb also was cooked to perfection, will definitely come again and order more next time im in harrogate

Pretty good food, as authentic as it gets in the UK, plus you have the chance to try out Albanian dishes which are not as popular as other cuisines in the UK. Relaxed environment and friendly service too. :)

What a beautiful place☺️the food was so wonderful and fresh and tasty with a fantastic value for money. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the music and decor is on point for a Mediterranean restaurant and the service was so friendly and warm. My wife booked this restaurant for a family gathering to celebrate my 60th birthday and I have to say she couldn't have chosen better. The owner is an absolute gentleman and made us very welcome, the restaurant is beautifully presented and is a lovely environment to eat in. Between us (4 generations, from young children to my parents) we tried a wide variety of starters and main courses and the food was superb. I had the tave kosi as I'd not tried it before and I wasn't disappointed as it was absolutely delicious. The house red and white wines are Italian wines and really good quality. We will certainly be returning in the near future.

Delicious food, exceptional service, clean, warm atmosphere. We had, stuffed peppers with beef to start with then Sea-bass as main and Rovani dessert.

Last minute booking whilst visiting Harrogate for the weekend and really couldn't have been more pleased. Staff were lovely, friendly and attentive, food, which is a mix of Albanian and Mediterranean was absolutely delicious. The baklava we had for dessert was juicy and packed with nuts, nicest I've ever tasted.

Oliveta Is superb great family run restaurant, food is varied and really tasty we would recommend you visit, the visit was after a day of walking round Harrogate and was was warm ,friendly and hospitable

What a lovely place for a meal, we where greeted by a wonderful attentive manger who made our evening feel special, the service, staff and food great it made for a nice evening as we frequently visit Harrogate we had tried many restaurants here. But this was a very special meal. We almost felt part of the family here. 10 out of 10 all round. I had lamb chops they where marvellous, so tender i didn't had to chew. My better half had Gyros it was well cooked to her taste. Drinks reasonable and staff great.

Me and my fiancé came to Harrogate for a weekday away and was recommend this restaurant. I'm so glad we followed the recommendations. The food was incredible. The staff were absolutely fantastic, friendly and in truth, would take another 200 mile trip just to visit again for the food and service. Anyone visiting Harrogate looking for somewhere to go for a great meal out. Don't hesitate booking here. You won't regret it. Thank you all at Oliveta!
