Needed some takeaway sandwiches and had read that Thug were the best, plus they do gluten free options. We got a gluten free curried chicken and a 'normal' KFCaesar sandwich. Both were delicious and crammed full of filling. The gluten free bread was also very good.
Just called in Burton Leonard village pub on my way home and met the family for dinner had a great reception from the landlord and landlady from the Royal Oak the service and atmosphere was outstanding and the food quality was absolutely amazing I personally had a homemade curry with poppadoms and mango chutney to start followed by a authentic spiced Madras with rice and chips with a plain naan bread the taste was amazing and I have honestly got to say I enjoyed it more than most Indian restaurants I have eaten at and I have eaten at many nice restaurants please try you won't be disappointed beers kept well too 😋
Just wonderful, walked in to a busy coffee shop with great service and coffee. Stayed for a while whilst doing emails and waiting for a friend. Just a great experience
Delicious food and a lovely menu. Very good service, comfortable surroundings and staff were polite and attentive. Food was very nicely presented, good sized portions and tasted delicious. I had the vegetarian main dish which had lots of vegetables with lovely fresh flavours in a tasty sauce. This sort of dish can often be a bit bland but it was delicious.
Would highly recommend, a lovely evening.
What a treat, amazing food, amazing service it was 100% perfect. I cannot give this restaurant and chef more praise. I have a nut allergy which is very annoying and they made this so easy. Thanks so much we absolutely loved it.
This spot is great for a quiet lunch made with the freshest ingredients. We loved the Brie & cranberry grilled cheese sandwich, but everything, every salad & dessert was delicious!!
I’m so glad that there was a free table at this busy cafe.
The staff were really welcoming and helped me choose a treat, we had a chat about the interesting and exciting range of cakes and I had a browse through the Thirteen cookbook that is on sale here whilst enjoying my coffee.
This cafe is everything an independent should be - welcoming, lively and inspiring. It’s really hard to choose a cake when you get to the counter (they all looked delicious) but I was really impressed with the gorgeous ginger slice - delicious and really suited to a cold winter day in Knaresborough. The coffee was also excellent.
This is a busy cafe, so not really suitable for sitting with a laptop or having a long meeting, it’s more suited to a catch up with friends for a treat. Don’t walk past - if you see a free seat go inside!
This little gem was booked almost blindly. We needed accommodation close to the nearby Swinton Hall Estate for family wedding. We had no idea what it was going to be like, nor how expensive the food was likely to be. Well, what a find! We arrived to be greeted by the very friendly landlord, Chris, and his wife. The accommodation is comfortable and clean with all the usual expected bits readily to hand. Downstairs in the bar you're treated to a friendly atmosphere, warm and cosy with a wide choice of very reasonably priced meals available to eat in the deceptively spacious dining room. The food arrived and it was fantastic! Big, hot plates, literally loaded with huge portions of good homemade food. I had steak and ale pie, chips and peas which, like everything else on the menu, was priced at £5! (Back home in Oxfordshire I'd have expected go pay upwards of £12 for the same meal). The following morning we all enjoyed a big cooked breakfast with loads of toast, tea and coffee. The landlord couldn't have been more helpful. My sister is gluten intolerant and Chris made sure she was catered for both at the evening meal and at breakfast.Absolutely fantastic! We'll definitely be back when we're next up that way.
Wanted to support an independent for breakfast so headed over to Coffee Crema and it was delicious . We ordered a veggie and full English breakfast. Both were outstanding. The quality of the ingredients were very good especially the grilled halloumi which was so tasty and melted in your mouth unlike some rubbery options you get at other places. The sausages were meaty, the smoky beans delicious and the mushrooms were sensational. The coffee was good quality too.
Hotel breakfast included pastries, juice etc in the price so the cost of Crema probably worked out more expensive like for like but we were more than happy with our choice and thought it was good value for money for the quality of food we received plus we feel it’s important to support small independent businesses in order to keep our town centres going .
Thank you ! We will be back !!
Really lovely place, very relaxed atmosphere. We bought pumpkins and carved them there then went for a little walk round the woodland trail. Nice little cafe - the pumpkin pie was a big hit - and the shop sells lots of nice little gifts etc. The plants in the garden centre looked great, although we didn’t buy any so can’t really comment further. Would definitely go back again - it’s a great community resource too.
Whenever we have passed here it has not been opening time so we deliberately called when it was open. These are the best fish and chips we have had in a long time. Just how they should be. Highly recommended. We will be back.
It was everything I had hoped for. Beautiful, top quality food in a relaxed but resolutely professional setting. The chefs, Aled and Richard, are incredibly skilled and chatted easily to the table of ten while plating our 14 'snacks' - I was pretty full by round 10 but managed to squeeze in the fabulous final four sweet dishes. The team set an ideal pace, moving us along through the varied menu without feeling rushed. Paul, the sommelier, was a wonderful host. Greeting us with champagne on arrival and curating a varied and interesting selection of wine pairings with charming introductions for each one. He also doubled up as an excellent cocktail maker as the evening progressed. Book it now you won't regret it!
Has been closed for a few months now and I recently read on their FB page that they are not reopening.
A pity as it was a decent local place with very good food.
