Gutted. Have heard so much about this place and the infamous KF Ceaser. To be fair. Had sausage roll also which was good. The chicken for the Ceaser was ‘wet’ and very soft/mushy, in texture and quite bland. The bread just didn’t seem too fresh. Was just cold baguette / sub. I was looking forward so much. One bite and sadly threw away.

A great surprise, we had booked whilst staying locally and didn’t really want to walk far for our lunch and a drink. The pub was full of ramblers when we arrived but as we’d booked we got our table and enjoyed a really lovely roast, desert and a great couple of pints of Timothy Taylor. The staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough to help us enjoy our time there. If you’re passing please pop in you won’t be disaappointed.

Our 3rd visit to this wonderful place (formerly Vennells restaurant)……..from the minute you email regarding a reservation, you feel welcome. The restaurant is small, but that adds to the experience and ambience……the subtle music combined with quiet conversation ……..perfect. The staff are unobtrusive, yet attentive and clearly knowledgeable and enthused with the food they are serving. The tasting menu is a treat for all the senses, with the element of smoke running through the courses. A small wine menu, reasonably priced……beautiful Portuguese Rose which complemented the food. From the canapés to the final sweet treat, you are left excited and amazed……..indeed a most talented chef preparing the most amazing food…..he will surely go far. A small village with such a fabulous restaurant….PERFECT!! Added to this we stayed at The Bay Horse next door……literally 10 steps away!! Thank you everyone for a fabulous evening, we will see you next time xx

I really enjoyed this southern Indian restaurant on a recent visit to Harrogate. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful, explaining the menu and ensuring that we didn’t over order. The starters were generous and the chicken dosa was delicious. We shared a thali platter as a main course which gave a good overview of the flavours of southern Indian cuisine. Would highly recommend to anyone passing through Harrogate.

This little gem was booked almost blindly. We needed accommodation close to the nearby Swinton Hall Estate for family wedding. We had no idea what it was going to be like, nor how expensive the food was likely to be. Well, what a find! We arrived to be greeted by the very friendly landlord, Chris, and his wife. The accommodation is comfortable and clean with all the usual expected bits readily to hand. Downstairs in the bar you're treated to a friendly atmosphere, warm and cosy with a wide choice of very reasonably priced meals available to eat in the deceptively spacious dining room. The food arrived and it was fantastic! Big, hot plates, literally loaded with huge portions of good homemade food. I had steak and ale pie, chips and peas which, like everything else on the menu, was priced at £5! (Back home in Oxfordshire I'd have expected go pay upwards of £12 for the same meal). The following morning we all enjoyed a big cooked breakfast with loads of toast, tea and coffee. The landlord couldn't have been more helpful. My sister is gluten intolerant and Chris made sure she was catered for both at the evening meal and at breakfast.Absolutely fantastic! We'll definitely be back when we're next up that way.

This place is amazing. They have perfected the sweet and savoury crepe menu. I had the ham, cheese and friend egg and it was very tasty. My daughter always enjoys some variation of nutella. The staff are great and too. Whenever we come to harrogate we always build in a stop here and its clear that other customers are regulars too.

First visit. An historic, Victorian walled garden which was once part of the Bishop’s garden, now the area is used as a charity supporting adults and young people with learning disabilities. The whole site is lovely and well maintained. Healthy looking plants for sale, cafe and shop, children’s play area and a woodland walk as well as an apple orchard. 🍏💚
