Like a lot of pubs that serve food nowadays, this one allows dogs in. And today there was a very yappy annoying dog. We had been recommended the Lime Tree, but the Sunday lunch was not brilliant, certainly for the price. Skin-on roast potatoes which we saw other people leaving as we did too. They weren't good. The Savingoun Blanc wine was very good. My roast chicken was not that tasty. Maybe I was spoilt in Chez Denise, Paris?

A wonderful find. Spotlessly clean, very good range of food priced appropriately. The spinach, spiced cauliflower & lentil pie was delicious. Staff cheerful and friendly. Lovely original decor with good attention to detail ( there were scissors provided at the table to cut the individual condiment satchets).

Our first visit and certainly won’t be our last. On entering we were met by every seat in the house taken with ours waiting for us by the pass. Very attentive and friendly yet professional staff. There is a limited but also comprehensive menu covering all tastes. The wine list being very similar in its extent. The food was to die for and I’ve found a new favourite wine too. At £110 per couple including wine and our tip, I thought it was very good value for the quality of food and service.

A Hidden Gem in the Yorkshire Dales! Nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, The George Country Inn in Wath is a true gem that blends countryside charm with contemporary elegance. From the moment you arrive, the warm tones of burnt orange and stylish greys set the tone for a refined yet cozy experience. The food? Absolutely divine. Generously portioned and cooked with heart—Paul is truly gifted, crafting dishes that go beyond expectations. I highly recommend the sea bass paired with a decadent cauliflower purée—an unforgettable combination. The team here deserves a special mention: always attentive, genuinely kind, and ready to go the extra mile to make your stay memorable. The bedrooms are equally impressive—chic, impeccably clean, and fragranced with calming sandalwood toiletries. The beds are incredibly comfy, perfect after a day of exploring the surrounding countryside. Whether you’re in for a meal or a weekend retreat, The George Country Inn is not to be missed. I’ll definitely be back!

Just called in Burton Leonard village pub on my way home and met the family for dinner had a great reception from the landlord and landlady from the Royal Oak the service and atmosphere was outstanding and the food quality was absolutely amazing I personally had a homemade curry with poppadoms and mango chutney to start followed by a authentic spiced Madras with rice and chips with a plain naan bread the taste was amazing and I have honestly got to say I enjoyed it more than most Indian restaurants I have eaten at and I have eaten at many nice restaurants please try you won't be disappointed beers kept well too 😋

Stopped here for a coffee and cheese scone. Excellent facilities, lovely staff and amazing cheese scone, butter & chutney. Topped the energy levels after a 8 mile cycle ride from Pateley Bridge. Ready for my ride over Middlesmoore down to Scar House reservoir and back to Pateley Bridge. Well worth stopping here.
