I stayed at The Queens Head Inn Kettlesing on Friday 18th October 2024. I am also staying at the Queens Head Inn Kettlesing on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th October 2024. I have stayed at The Queens Head Inn Kettlesing many times and it is an excellent place to stay. The owners Louise and Glen together with their daughter Meghan are excellent hosts. There is free wifi throughout the hotel and bar. There is also ample car parking spaces at the hotel which is free. There is EV charging ports at the Queens Head Inn Kettlesing. The rooms are excellent at the Queens Head. Clean and tidy inside. I am staying in the Queens Flat at The Queens Head Inn Kettlesing. It is an excellent room to stay in with your own bathroom and kitchen. There is a bar at the Queens Head Inn in Kettlesing with a good choice of lagers, beers, wines and spirits. The food is excellent as well. I would very much recommend a visit to The Queens Head Inn Kettlesing.

Update: Still great, when we came back a year later. Excellent food with good sized portions and the staff were engaging & friendly. And the Full English was tip-top and the best I've had in ages! The rooms were well kept & provided with tea & biscuits. The only downside was that our room was too hot (after a hot day in early Sept) and the windows were screwed shut so we couldn't air it.

Stayed here whilst visiting friends in leeds, its ok if you like sleeping in grannies house. not very up to date for the cost of the room. breakfast was just ok.no phone signal, stank a bit of dog or damp. My husband said there was ants on the bar which is surely a health hazard. need to try harder and do better. I guess talking to the locals on our walk around the very pretty village they said it had just been refurbished, I can't for the life of me see where it's been anything. it really has had its day. could do with a good shake up. toilet was noisy and unclean. Still a super little village with plenty of friendly people. no shops r cycle tracks which is a shame.

The Queens Head Inn is a welcoming gem nestled at the green cross roads of Kettlesing. There is so much to see in the area from Yorkshire Moors National Park to Fountains Abbey to the spa town of Harrogate. I stayed for 3 nights and used it as my refuge when cycling through the tempestuous Yorkshire Moors. I was so glad to come back to my room at night with all the creature comforts especially the warm bath and the hearty food at the pub downstairs. Then, to fall asleep in the warm bed to the baying of lambs in the fields. Louise and her husband run the Inn like clockwork.. (the clock at the pub actually runs backwards!) A full English breakfast comes with the room and it’s all you need for a day of adventuring.

I ate here this evening with my family after visiting Fountains Abbey. The food was absolutely fantastic. I eat out a lot, and this was ‘next level’. It’s a lovely pub in a nice little village, very quiet and scenic. There are EV charging points, excellent parking and the service was just as good as the food. I couldn’t recommend this enough, and I will 💯 be returning at some point.

The only downside was accessibility, if you parked in the good sized car park there was no rear access for people with mobility issues. We parked on the road side to the front which bearing in mind it's a country pub was a bit iffy. The lady who served us was very hospitable and the food was lovely, so after all said we would return but only if there happened to be a place outside the front.😃

Me and a friend had planned to go to another pub as they were advertising x2 steak and bottle of wine for £40 - when we arrived despite saying outside food being served, the bar lady told us the chef wasn't working - very annoyed and disappointed we left and came across the Queens head Inn - it was a Tuesday night and obviously hadn't booked - (we also had the dog with us!) when we arrived it was thriving - we managed to find one table and sat ourselves down. The staff were so friendly. We ordered 2 meals off of the specials board - Tomapork (yes that is correct!) steak and Lamb Rump steak - the food was incredible and huge portions (the lady who served us even joked that she couldn't find a smaller one!) All in all - we have now decided to ditch the other pub who were unfriendly and uninviting and come here in future - but ill book next time because I don't want to miss out!! ;) Sorry no pictures taken as we were too hungry to be bothered and food was too good not to eat :)

We live locally so we know this pub has a good reputation for great food at a reasonable price. We took our aunt there today for Sunday lunch and what a great lunch we got. There is a very reasonable priced 1,2 or 3 course lunch. The starter choices were good, the prawn cocktail I had was very tasty. The Sunday lunch (lamb for me) was very tender, lots of great veg, a yummy Yorkshire pud all piping hot with lots of gravy. Auntie had a sponge and custard which was very light and met with her approval greatly. This was served up by very friendly staff, Megan and Louise. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed. We certainly weren’t. 😃

Disappointing meal last night. I had the lamb and my wife had the chicken with tarragon sauce. The lamb was rather tasteless and only served with mash and peas. The tarragon sauce also lacked flavour and the accompanying veg of broccoli , carrots, and new potatoes looked and tasted like they had been kept warm for hours. We have previously had very good meals here so we were surprised at the poor quality of the meals.

We booked Sunday lunch at the Queens Head on New Years day as it was fairly local and somewhere we hadn't eaten at previously. On arrival we ordered drinks and were shown to our table. It was fairly busy, a large party were just leaving. We ordered 2 roast beef dinners at the bar and sat enjoying our drinks and the warmth from the coal fire. Our dinners arrived fairly quickly, the beef was a little well done for me, but still tender and plenty of it, the rest comprised 2 small Yorkshire's, 2 new, 2 roast potatoes, carrots & broccoli. My plate was very lacking in gravy for my liking so I asked the waitress if it was possible to have a drop more, she returned with a small cream jug containing my extra gravy and my wife and I finished our meals, which we both thought were fine. Had better, but equally had a lot worse. Not wanting desserts or coffees we duly paid and left. I happened to look at the bill later that evening and was staggered to find the waitress who prepared my bill had charged us £2.95 for the extra gravy!! It's the owners prerogative what they charge for their fayre, but £2.95 extra for a small jug of gravy, c'mon!

Second visit after we so enjoyed the first 18 months ago. Food was good, but confused for us if punching for a Michelin star. Menu very similar, if not the same for some courses. Large beetroot bread roll, no beetroot flavour but great bread… size large to start filling you up. Next 2 amuse bouche , starters v good. Roast beef main course, hearty and pleasant, but seems at odds as hearty as I say rather than michelin, plenty of local pubs do as good or better. Two desserts attempting to be back on michelin spectrum but too similar…. Just nothing stand out. This time we used a voucher, so rather resent having to pay a service charge then on its gift value, but we didn’t quibble. Drinks expensive, so for the total price of the meal and drinks we weren’t convinced this was value for money, would prefer to spend elsewhere, so may not return in the near future. Still a lovely setting.

Fantastic hotel. Very clean, breakfast to die for, and great staff. Only a 10 minute walk to the town centre.

Went for the Sunday carvery, and it was so tasty. Reasonably priced at £13.00 The puddings are delicious.

We had a sandwich each. Very nice, lots of killing, salad, and crisps. Good value. The tea was good as well. Dog friendly.
