Queens Head Inn in Harrogate

Absolutely perfect place. Room was great with a king size bed and bath.. Food fantastic, and all at a most reasonable tariff. Real log fire in dining room, even for breakfast. Service excellent.

Met up with friends for an evening meal together. We enjoyed great food in a very homely atmosphere. This is a well liked country pub in a quiet village. We hadn't been for some time but will certainly be visiting again. Worth a shot!

A great country pub with wholesome home cooked food. Dog friendly! A nice stop after a long walk. Keep in mind the Sunday menu is much smaller than the standard menu so okay if you’re happy with a Sunday Roast. No phone signal, so you’ll have to talk to each other 🤪

This was great for a cosy night out in January. Open log fire and friendly staff created a warm and relaxing atmosphere. Food informal but fabulous. Lovely prawn cocktail and garlic mushrooms to start with quality fillet steak cooked to perfection. Disappointed we could only manage to share dessert as the meringue with raspberries was amazing. Stayed over in a great comfortable room - good value for money with quality English breakfast included in price. Highly recommend.

We usually give huge praise for delicious food and service. However I recently had the baby haddock. It was absolutely awful. The batter wasn’t crispy and the fish was a very odd colour- not white and fleshy. Very disappointing given I arrived starving!

Had my Xmas dinner night out with lifeline tonight. The food was fantastic and so where the staff nice and friendly. I will be back with family and friends.

We decided to stay at this pub since we were visiting Harrogate for the weekend. Great location and only 15 minutes away from Harrogate.

Glen and Louis are excellent hosts. I've eaten practically everything on the menu, and each dish was awesome.

Fabulous Pub with exquisit food! Pub cuisine at its best with very friendly service and a cosy atmosphere. The desert menu in itself is to die for hehe! We were 6 including two kids! And we only paid 85£ including drinks!! Super value for what we got too!

Sunday lunch was superb today. Roast beef is definitely recommended. Apple and sultana crumble is also a star choice.

Wij hadden hier slechts 1 overnachting op onze doorreis naar Edinburgh. Ondanks het korte verblijf waren we enorm onder de indruk van deze authentieke, gerestaureerde ‘Inn’. Super vriendelijke, hardwerkende mensen, erg nette en complete kamers, verbazend snelle internetverbinding (zeker voor het Engelse platteland) goed diner en heerlijk ontbijt. Een aanrader en niet alleen voor 1 nacht. In de omgeving is volop te ontdekken.

Lovely people great atmosphere and location

Excellent food with good sized portions and the staff were engaging & friendly. And the Full English was tip-top and the best I've had in ages! The rooms were well kept & provided with tea & biscuits. The only downside was that our room was too hot (after a hot day in early Sept) and the windows were screwed shut so we couldn't air it.

Nice traditional Yorkshire pub with good food and a nice range of beers and wines.

Stopped by for a Sunday lunch a few weeks ago when we were leaving the area at the end of the holiday, booked last minute. A quant pub in a lovely small village. Food was ok (3/5 stars), but the decent service made up for it (5/5 stars).

Super friendly and attentive staff. Have electric car chargers too which is a massive bonus! Great country pub that we will definitely be returning to.

My wife and i visited The Queens head on 3 evenings while holidaying in beautiful Yorkshire . We found the food menu gave ample choice and all our meals were delicious . We were always given a friendly welcome and dealt with attentively , well done The Queens we would have no hesitation in recommending your lovely pub ,and yes we will be back .

Nicely out of the way and quiet but easy reach of Harrogate. Nice chatty welcome and a great steak. Room a tad basic, no wall hangings but it had everything we needed. No phone signal here but good WiFi. Good tea/coffee facility in room and bonus FREE ev charging. Would stay again, if fact tried to book for our return journey but they're full.

Such a lovely and welcoming place , stuff very attentive and nothing was to much . Top accommodation food was scrumptious ales to , fabulous breakfast all in all a good experience was had and we intend to return . Many thanks Angela and Bill . ( Cheeseboard ) . Called in for Sunday lunch as staying within walking distance. Limited menu on Sunday which was Sunday roast with meat options, sea bass and a steak in ale pie. Not being a huge roast fan I went for the pie. What a great choice I made. Best pie I have ever eaten. Full of tender beef and rich tasty sauce. Others in party had the roast which they were very happy with. Good deserts too.

Disappointing meal last night. I had the lamb and my wife had the chicken with tarragon sauce. The lamb was rather tasteless and only served with mash and peas. The tarragon sauce also lacked flavour and the accompanying veg of broccoli , carrots, and new potatoes looked and tasted like they had been kept warm for hours. We have previously had very good meals here so we were surprised at the poor quality of the meals.

Seriously good place to be for a few days, good service, nice and clean rooms. Great food. Great breakfast to! Quiet lovely place. We had a really good time!The only complain was that we had to check out because we need to get to the boat in Hull.

A lovely pub with great facilities, delicious food and wonderful staff. Popped in for Sunday roast beef and apple crumble and grabbed an hour on their EV charger, whilst we ate in the glorious sunshine in the courtyard - I was in heaven. Highly recommended.

Stayed two nights, comfortable room, great location in beautiful Dales village, electric car chargers were useful for me, evening meals excellent (good choice, well cooked, plenty on plate, good service) - but what summed up a great stay for me was that I asked for an early breakfast on the Sunday, it was no problem, Louise waiting for me in dining area at 6.00 a.m., friendly as ever. Highly recommended!

Very decent food here and a cracking pint. I had duck in orange sauce with new Potato's and carrots (gorgeous) and Broccoli. My wife had the Chicken in cream and mushroom sauce. Both were excellent. Topped off with a pint of Theakstons Best which was perfect, should have booked a room and had another! Pub has just been refurbished, new carpets and re-upholstered furniture, freshly painted. Very cosy and comfortable. Loved it!

My partner and I eat here very often. The food is fantastic, the staff are fantastic. It's always busy, so book so you're not disappointed. It's dog friendly too. The pub is traditional 'oldie worldie country' pub, very clean and tidy.

Lovely, relaxed, homely stay at The Queens Head on 4th April this year. The staff were so attentive, helpful and friendly especially the owner Louise. We've already booked to stay again soon.

Fantastic 3 night stay. Food is top notch great breakfast something for everyone on the menu. Service second to none.

This is our go-to restaurant for a night out or when we have visitors in town, we like to come here! The chef’s food is always on point. I usually get a seafood dish and it’s always cooked perfectly. My husband’s fav is the steak and ale made with generous chunks of meat - he’s never disappointed! They have the normal offerings my little kids love too. Apart from the food we always enjoy a chat with the owner or waitstaff- everyone is so friendly, it truly feels like we’re regulars here when we visit.

We were late and they had stopped serving but they still rustled up the freshest prawn sandwiches and chunky chips! Delishious thank you

Made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Very spacious bedroom and en-suite. Excellent choice of food and wine available in the restaurant. Breakfast was amazing…and there is the ability to pick and choose what you would like. The village is quiet but charming. Lots of wildlife in the area, too. The country lanes were quiet enough to walk along with enough space to let cars pass when they did appear.

Lovely inn in Yorkshire. The rooms are big and comfortable, the food hearty and traditional and the service couldn’t have been better. The staff helped us move our car during a heavy snowstorm and went out of their way to ensure we got to town safely.

Lovely village pub. We just dropped in by chance, we were driving by and just fancied a drink and a snack. It was the Sunday lunch menu only but the staff were happy to go off-menu and make us a sandwich. It was a very welcoming and cosy place to be.

We came upon the Queens Head by accident, we hadn’t read any reviews so didn’t know what to expect. It was such a pleasant surprise to find a genuine pub with a great atmosphere and staff. The food was wholesome and fresh and the staff were caring. We’ll definitely be back.

We booked Sunday lunch at the Queens Head on New Years day as it was fairly local and somewhere we hadn't eaten at previously. On arrival we ordered drinks and were shown to our table. It was fairly busy, a large party were just leaving. We ordered 2 roast beef dinners at the bar and sat enjoying our drinks and the warmth from the coal fire. Our dinners arrived fairly quickly, the beef was a little well done for me, but still tender and plenty of it, the rest comprised 2 small Yorkshire's, 2 new, 2 roast potatoes, carrots & broccoli. My plate was very lacking in gravy for my liking so I asked the waitress if it was possible to have a drop more, she returned with a small cream jug containing my extra gravy and my wife and I finished our meals, which we both thought were fine. Had better, but equally had a lot worse. Not wanting desserts or coffees we duly paid and left. I happened to look at the bill later that evening and was staggered to find the waitress who prepared my bill had charged us £2.95 for the extra gravy!! It's the owners prerogative what they charge for their fayre, but £2.95 extra for a small jug of gravy, c'mon!

Nice friendly pub. We were a party of three. Two really enjoyed their meals...fish and chips and an all day breakfast, both cooked well with quality foods. I had the soup of the day, which was vegetable. Unfortunately it was far too seasoned and quite strong in taste. Yet it must be difficult to get this right for each individual. However we enjoyed our visit and would definitely return if we were in the area.

Spot on. Reasonable prices for really fresh, tasty popular pub food. Good selection of beer and drinks. Interior was cosy and comfy, and the staff really pleasant, all topped off with free EV charging while you're there.

We visited this establishment on Friday evening, arrived at 19:20 for are booking at 19:30 to be told that they hadn't go the following, fillet steak, lamb or chicken. So that's half the menu down, I could understand if it was late at night and they had been busy. But to run out of 3 main essentials is very poor planning on behalf of the owner. The waiter when asked simple questions didn't know the answers, food was OK but overpriced for what it was. Its a shame

Found this place when looking for a country pub to have lunch after a walk at the near reservoir. As an Italian, I always enjoy the Yorkshire warmness and this place gives exactly that. Lovely and cozy, and the food was great and genuine. Seems like you can also stay overnight, will definitely try that next time.

On the one hand my sympathies go out to all eateries desperately trying to recoup losses and recover after the pandemic. On the other hand, prices have gone up and standards have gone down to such an extent that I rarely eat out any more. £27 for steak, £17 for fish and chips and £15 for tomato pasta is over-priced. Had the food been carefully sourced from local, organic sources and beautifully presented it would have stung less. No wonder the place was half empty on a Saturday night. A real shame as the location and the staff are lovely.

One of the best meals I have had for a long while

I had a look into the Queens Head Inn at Kettlesing in North Yorkshire. It looked very nice and has 7 bedrooms. I also noticed in the car park that it has electric charging machines for cars. It is very near RAF Menwith Hill and is not that far from Harrogate. It is set a lovely little North Yorkshire village. I usually stay at The Wellington Inn in Darley when I am walking in the RAF Menwith Hill area. However next time I am walking in the RAF Menwith Hill area I will try and stay at The Queens Head Inn. Update: I have actually now stayed at The Queens Head Inn Kettlesing and would strongly recommend it. The room was very nice, the food was excellent. I had the vegatable soup and the steak and ale pie and both were of top quality. It is a very cosy hotel with a cosy bar and restaurant. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It is very handy for RAF Menwith Hill which is the area that I like walking around. In fact I enjoyed my stay at The Queens Head Inn Kettlesing so much I am going back there this Saturday 1st December to stay, and walk around RAF Menwith Hill and the surrounding area! Update 6th March 2022: I cannot praise this pub/hotel enough. I stay at the Queens Head Inn Kettlesing on a regular basis. It is a lovely pub with rooms. I have mainly stayed in two rooms. Victoria which is a twin room and Mary I which is a double room. Both rooms are en suite and of top quality. The pub has a good range of drinks both bottled and on draught including real ale. The food is excellent with a main menu and a good range of specials. The staff especially Louise the manageress and Meghan her daughter are very friendly and helpful. They cannot do enough for you! I am staying at the Queens Head Inn Kettlesing tonight Sunday 6th March and Monday 7th March and Tuesday 8th March 2022. I would strongly recommend a visit to the Queens Head Inn Kettlesing. Update Sunday 8th May 2022: I stayed at The Queens Head Inn Kettlesing on Saturday 7th May 2022 and it was a most enjoyable experience. I had an excellent meal of soup of the day which was homemade cream of vegetable soup followed by the homemade steak and ale pie with boiled potatoes and peas. The food is excellent at The Queens Head Inn Kettlesing. I had pints of Birra Moreti lager which was of top quality as well. I had a double room with en-suite facilities called Elizabeth I at the front of the hotel. The room was of top quality. There is free wifi and also free parking at the Queens Head Inn Kettlesing. The locals are friendly. The Queens Head Inn Kettlesing gets guests from all over the world. Last night I had an enjoyable evening in the bar at the Queens Head Inn Kettlesing talking too two gentlemen from Cavan in the Republic of Ireland. I had a nice breakfast on the Sunday morning before I departed. I am staying at the Queens Head Inn Kettlesing again on Saturday 18th June and Sunday 19th June 2022 in room Victoria for my walks around Strensall Training Area and Range on the Saturday and Catterick Garrison on the Sunday. I am also attending Mass at St Joan of Arc Catholic Garrison Church in Catterick Garrison at 10:30am on the Sunday as well. I would strongly recommend a visit to the Queens Head Inn Kettlesing. Update Tuesday 27th September 2022: I am a regular attender at the Queens Head Inn Kettlesing. It is an excellent place to stay, eat and drink at. I recently stayed there on Saturday 24th September 2022 and Sunday 25th September 2022. The room I stayed in was a twin room with en-suite facilities. It was a top-quality room. All the rooms that I have stayed at The Queens Head in Kettlesing have been of top quality and a joy to stay in. The food is excellent. There is a free car park at the hotel with ample car parking spaces. Also, there is free wifi at the hotel. The owners Louise and Glen and their daughter Meghan are excellent hosts. Friendly, approachable and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. I would strongly recommend a visit to the Queens Head Inn in Kettlesing. I am staying there again on Saturday 1st October 2022!

We arrived for breakfast as a non resident. Firstly parking was very accessible and secure. The breakfast was delicious and great proportions probably the best bacon I've tasted in a long time . We had booked packed lunches which were ready and waiting and were great value for money. Finally I must comment on the service which was friendly and professional. Let's start with the location. Such a beautiful place. Surrounded by rolling fields of Yorkshire countryside. The journey there is a pleasure. Ample car parking and plenty of room outside for a sunny drink. Sunday lunch menu was not extensive but was all made very well. Luckily steak pie was an option, and it was very good. Full of steak and very tasty. Roasties done well and veg done well. Puddings were all delicious too, I had treacle tart. The service was friendly and efficient, extra glasses of water and drinks etc brought as required and we didn't have a lengthy wait for our food. Finally the price. Very reasonable. 2 courses and drinks for a family of 4 for under 80 quid. In today's terms that is brill. Altogether a fantastic place to eat and worth the trip out

So between a table of locals who knew every swear word in the book and a family of kids screaming the meal was ok! Definitely will give this place a miss in the future

Only came for the meals which are always amazing. The best steak and ale pie in Harrogate. Sauce is thick and full of flavor and the pie has such great consistency. Highly recommend this or the Lamb Shank when it is on the specials. And do not forgot the sticky toffee pudding, you will regret it if you did. Also one of the few places that has Theakston Old Peculier on draft.
