We are so lucky that The Barn is on our site. Whenever we feel the need for a latte coffee and a cake or if we're being lazy about making our own lunch, we can pop down and be royally fed and watered. Such pleasant staff always ready with a smile and a chat that it actually feels like home from home. The prawn and smoked salmon recent additions to the menu are delicious but the huge portions are doing the diet no good at all !! Thanks everyone and keep up the good work.

Really dissapointed with our breakfast here. My partner and I both ordered the "Old barn breakfast" @£8.95 each (extra items for 50p Per item) . A cup of tea and a glass of fresh orange juice. When i asked the staff member what came on the breakfast she was unsure and realed off a load of typical full English ingredients. Also she had no idea what additional items could be added. All of which i would have expected to be printed on the menu. The breakfast arrived and no mushrooms as previously suggested. Bit not the end of the world, The sausages were over cooked, the egg was hard not runny, and the hash brown wasnt cooked enough. All in all extremely dissapointed in our experience and wont be rushing back as we both agreed you can get a better breakfast from Weatherspoons.

We visited The Old Barn for the first time today and was impressed by the the general appearance of o ur surroundings however we cannot say the same for the food nor the welcome we received. We were greeted by a somewhat indifferent mature waitress who left us with the impression we were a nuisance rather than a valued customer. The food when it arrived was underwhelming and over priced, this included an overcooked small portion of quiche with a sprinkling of salad and a minute portion of coleslaw all for around £8.95. My partners bacon and brie (special) panini can only be described as average and the portion of salad and coleslaw was similarly a paltry additions for the cost of the meal. The service was slow and our drinks were finished well before the food arrived We were wondering about following up with cake to fill the void left by the main course however the mature waitress was too busy chatting to friends to take our order so we paid and left. We eat out frequently at similar places and feel this experience was not one of the bests. Needless to say we won’t be returning.

This cafe is definitely worth a visit: you receive a friendly welcome; the menu is small but perfectly formed and it is spotlessly clean. Their C19 adjustments and procedures are very reassuring. If I was being super critical, the food did take a while to arrive but we could tell it had been freshly prepared so we didn't mind. The quality of the breakfast ingredients were above average and the food was well presented with a generous helping of toast. Again, if I was to be picky, I would have liked mushrooms with my breakfast - a bit unusual not to have any on a full English. But, all in all, a cute place that is well worth a look.

I've visited here today with my friend and as we both live far apart and drove an hour each to get there we entered and it appeared to be a friendly place. We both brought our kids 1 and 3. My son who is 3 was curious but well behaved and sat on the couch near our table in which the woman (not sure if she was the owner or not sneared at us) I then went to the counter to enquire about what cakes were on offer after lunch and my son looked around the counter. She replied can you control your child we are in the middle of a pandemic and it isn't over! I was shocked and we immediately left. Baring in mind there was only 3 other people in the cafe at the time and he was doing no harm at all. We are both nurses and worked through the whole pandemic and it was our first time seeing eachother since lockdown. I was absolutely disgused by this woman and will never return. The food was also extremely mediocre but the woman completely ruined our day!!

Second visit after we so enjoyed the first 18 months ago. Food was good, but confused for us if punching for a Michelin star. Menu very similar, if not the same for some courses. Large beetroot bread roll, no beetroot flavour but great bread… size large to start filling you up. Next 2 amuse bouche , starters v good. Roast beef main course, hearty and pleasant, but seems at odds as hearty as I say rather than michelin, plenty of local pubs do as good or better. Two desserts attempting to be back on michelin spectrum but too similar…. Just nothing stand out. This time we used a voucher, so rather resent having to pay a service charge then on its gift value, but we didn’t quibble. Drinks expensive, so for the total price of the meal and drinks we weren’t convinced this was value for money, would prefer to spend elsewhere, so may not return in the near future. Still a lovely setting.
