What a special bakery!!! The bread is amazing. Lovely cakes and treats. We are new to the area and I wouldn’t buy bread from anywhere else. Liz one of the owners is always bright and smiley. Shop spotless cleaning. Highly recommend.

The owner is so friendly and personable But her brownies and cakes are a class above I chose a chocolate oaty flap jack But it had Ginger crystal bits to make it a memorable So I wish her lots of success. A tea or coffee machine would complete the picnic possibilities

An excellent bakehouse with those Yorkshire staples of curd tarts and fat rascals (though apparently they are not allowed to call them that so have a local name) The curd tarts had enough spice and were crumbly enough to please these two Yorkshire exiles and the scones were equally fine. We will return when in this area again, hopefully in the not too distant future.

New ownership since we last visited. The fresh white bread is very nice and my young son raves about it. Caramel slice has plenty of caramel, while so many other places make them too dry. Nice friendly welcome. Will be frequenting them on a regular basis.

Awesome cakes and fantastic service. The only problem is too many delicious cakes to choose from. Although I can highly recommend the Baileys Slice.

Just wanted to buy a couple of rolls for lunch on our journey home after 5 great days staying near Pately Bridge. One beef and horseradish, one Wensleydale and chutney;both delicious. Two ladies serving amusing and friendly! Wish I lived nearer but would probably put on a stone fairly quickly as everything looked very tempting !

As the Yorkshire would say ‘bloody brilliant’. Never thought to come to write a review before but I saw one poor comment and felt the need to. My husband and I have always bought our children here for a bite to eat and a cake or two, brilliant service, very child friendly, beautiful to look at and mouthwatering food. It’s our family tradition to drive to pateley, go to this bakery and walk down the river or have a play in the park, sunny or rainy weather. Ice cream lovely and not the bog standard flavours which I love, the staff seem to know everything about there products which is good as my daughter has many allergies. Definitely recommend and definitely going to keep coming here for years and years to come.

Just had a delicious picnic made up from this lovely bakery. My family and I each had a delicious sandwich with just the right amount of filling. The bread was so soft and had that fresh bread smell when I bit into it. The lady even kindly cut my children’s sandwiches into quarter, nothing we asked for was a problem. We had a selection of crisps, drinks and cakes. My husband was very happy with his Bakewell tart as I was with an oaty flapjack covered in chocolate and caramel sauce. We are having a little play in the park and then heading back for an ice cream. I might even pick up a few fruit scones for home. It is all too tempting. Little gem in Pateley bridge.

This bake house had signs up declaring their awesomeness, so it was only right to step in to see what they had! At the late hour of 4pm on a Wednesday, they still had a diverse range of temptations. We went for the Jaffa cake tiffin and peppermint tiffin and enjoyed them both. This bakehouse truly does know their stuff--even for nonbaked goods like tiffins!

Popped in when passing through Pateley Bridge on way home from a few days in Harrogate to buy a loaf - it was one of the best I have had recently. Light, crusty and tasty. They seemed to have a fair range of cakes, pie and other treats as well as bread.

We went there today to buy some filled bread rolls for lunch. The serving lady was not very interested in serving us, she didn't smile even once and made impression of being annoyed by our special requests ( one roll without mayo, the other one without Yorkshire sauce). The other serving lady seemed to be absent with her mind because she asked us every single word to repeat, couldn't understand what we were saying. The chicken and bacon roll was ok but the roll with cheddar cheese was a big disappointment: little butter with some grated cheese without any taste. I was happy that afterwards we went to buy something in the local Spar because the lady at the cashier there was very nice and helpful. Otherwise I would think that all people in Pateney Bridge are not interested in their clients and annoyed by their wishes, exactly like in the Old Bakehouse.

We were off for a walk and decided to take a couple of rolls with us . Order two rolls and two flapjacks one plain and the other pear and ginger . The rolls well very dry the filling poor to say the least and a complete disappointment . Had I not been 3 miles away they would have had them back . The flapjack was also very disappointing and the difference in taste between the two was none at all both had no taste or flavour what so ever.

Called in for just a Yorkshire Curd Tart, left with said tart which was outstanding, parkin which is great, two types of treacle tart which were amazing, buttered white rolls, soft and about as perfectly baked as a white roll can be. The staff were lovely, helpful, cheerful and made the early morning shopping in Pateley a pleasure. If you don't enjoy this place and it's produce there is something wrong with you, not them. Thank you we will be back

I really don't like to leave negative reviews but this place really was bad, and it was as if they didn't seem to care that they were bad. Patley Bridge is a lovely place, but I image alot of the customers are walkers such as myself, passing through, buying a sandwich and eating it some way away from the shop.....too far away to go back and complain!

The sandwich was actually very nice but wow, I have never seen it take so long to 'construct' each of our sandwiches. They must have taken 15 minutes each to lovingly place every individual strip of lettuce, slice of onion or tomato into the baguette one at a time.

Using deep frozen bread n heating it in the ovens, the shop is dilapidated and untidy in present times, needs a spruce up and a square up as well, it used to be beautiful but unfortunately the bread never was baked on sight :(

I stay at The Queens Head Inn Kettlesing on a regular basis and it is a great place to stay at. The rooms are excellent. There is ample car parking spaces at the pub. The food is excellent. Good bar with plenty of choice. Locals who go into the pub are very friendly and helpful. Owners Louise and Glen and their daughter Meghan are excellent hosts. There is also wifi available throughout the pub and rooms. I would strongly recommend a visit to the Queens Head Inn Kettlesing. It really is a fantastic village pub with excellent rooms and excellent food available. Great place to stay at and eat at!

Second visit after we so enjoyed the first 18 months ago. Food was good, but confused for us if punching for a Michelin star. Menu very similar, if not the same for some courses. Large beetroot bread roll, no beetroot flavour but great bread… size large to start filling you up. Next 2 amuse bouche , starters v good. Roast beef main course, hearty and pleasant, but seems at odds as hearty as I say rather than michelin, plenty of local pubs do as good or better. Two desserts attempting to be back on michelin spectrum but too similar…. Just nothing stand out. This time we used a voucher, so rather resent having to pay a service charge then on its gift value, but we didn’t quibble. Drinks expensive, so for the total price of the meal and drinks we weren’t convinced this was value for money, would prefer to spend elsewhere, so may not return in the near future. Still a lovely setting.
