So much choice delicious coffee relaxing venue

A really nice place to come have breakfast or lunch. The food is delicious and the drinks are very nice. I would highly recommend this place.

We hadn't been to Stanley's for a while, but knew it would be as good as we remembered, and ofcourse it was! They 've had a bit of a refurb, infact the whole B and S store has, but nothing else has changed; same delicious food and first class service. Thanks to Helen and team.

Always great food, not cheap but worth it. The mushrooms on toast are fantastic and the French onion soup is excellent. It does get very busy so worth booking, especially if you are a large group. Worth taking some cakes away with you.

Went for lunch with my sister and dad, been again since. Highly recommended! The menu is great, something for everyone from light bites to decent meals. There are specials every day, always been a great veggie one when I've been 👍the Spanakopita was great! Hot (proper) ginger cake with ice cream and butterscotch sauce for pud, there's a great cake selection! Nice healthy options and smoothies change daily too. The staff are lovely and do a great job, well done to you all, we always feel very welcomed 👏 and is now one of our regular places. Plenty of car parking, located in Barker & Stonehouse. Handy for Next, Boots, Matalan, TK Max and M&S.

Superb! Excellent food with great variety served in stylish and clean premises. Staff efficient, attentive and very pleasant. A very good experience which ended with us purchasing cakes to take away.

Another wonderful brunch this morning. We found this place like most people I suspect, after looking around the main store and now driver over every few Sunday mornings for breakfast/brunch. Great coffee and great food. Nice to meet the owner and chief today and I can highly recommend the Turkish eggs. I rare and unexpected find,

Disappointedly dumbed-down since our last visit. Sadly the owners have not put their customers as their priority. It used to have a pleasant relaxing ambience in which to relax and enjoy your beverages/meals. However more tables have now been paced in every available space and the atmosphere is more like a school dinners canteen. We'll give it a miss from now on.

Delicious breakfast, staff all made us feel very welcome, prices a bit on the steep side but excellent quality, couldn't resist the black sheep ale cake, was pretty damn good. Also great to see some dairy and soy free options on the menu, would love to see more.

Incredibly good service by warm, welcoming, friendly, attentive staff. The café itself was not what I was expecting - it is inside and upstairs of Barker and Stonehouse furnishing store. Car park is marked as private with max stay of one hour. Does have disabled parking bays. Dog friendly café. On arrival was proffered a magazine to read, nice touch, you don't get that in many places. Stylish interior. Clean environment. Plenty of staff. No wait. I had to try their cinnamon toast, as Betty's do the best in the business and, have to say, I was not disappointed with Stanley's version. Hot chocolate came in an attractive double-skinned glass and was tasty. Also had a Fentimans ginger beer. The tomato and basil soup was very tasty and I was very pleased to see it was a good and proper portion, a full bowl, not a meagre 1 ladleful that some places serve you. A sultana scone with jam and cream was good too, though the jam was very runny and had a good go at escaping its destiny of being eaten. I won, ha ha. Would recommend and would revisit, all the staff were exemplary, with bells on.

Very disappointing. Cheap supermarket looking bread bun with three small rashers of bacon £6.60. nothing special. Staff friendly and nice environment

The staff are always pleasant and polite. All the food is freshly prepared and looks fabulous. Excellent coffee too. My current favourite is the toasted cheese scone with chutney. There is something for everyone. Delish!

Hidden gem of a cafe! Really good tea and tasty food choices. The service was fabulous; we were in a hurry and they looked after us really well. Fantastic brunch: do try the chef's black pudding!

No complaints about staff,service or product. Extremely disappointed to discover they are not participating in the government Eat Out to Help Out scheme, WHY???? It doesn't cost them anything. I would be even more disappointed if they took advantage of the Furlough scheme!!

Despite being inside a furniture store, Stanley’s has a great vibe and ambience. Stopped for lunch there today before shopping. Lovely food, prompt service despite being very busy and all rather jolly Set me up nicely for the shopping 😊 Highly recommended 😀👍

Lucky enough to be able to visit again today and we were not disappointed. The food is of high quality with an appealing interesting menu . Whilst we have our favourites it is so exciting ~ no daring , to try something different. You will be rewarded with top quality food served from a friendly efficient team. I have read a couple of reviews quoting the cost of some items but I would point you to the fact that the food , ambiance and service represent great value for money. Just sit , enjoy and soak in the experience. Give Stanley’s the opportunity to treat you to a time of pleasure and you will walk away content, happy and certain to return. Thanks Stanley’s team - everyone deserves a gold star.

Great Cafe if you happen to find it. Hidden* inside Barker & Stonehouse (although fully visible at huge window at the roundabout) you’ll find delicious cafe food and drink in. Funky furnituresque environment. I little pricey but never a disappointment.

First visit to Stanley’s with friends after a walk. Nice surroundings, great staff and an interesting menu. Good size portions so go when you are hungry.

Me and my partner were in the area and found this place on TripAdvisor. We decide to go for lunch and we were surprised to find a lovely, welcoming place.The service was exceptional. We decide to try few dishes and share it. The chef portioned all food for 2 in different plates.The blonde girl who served us was unbelievable. Very pleasant, professional and helpful.Fantastic place. Very impressed!

Called in to for some lunch whilst shopping in the store. Not a bad menu, very pricy though. I’m Gluten free so was given quite a few alternatives which was ok, I chose scrambled eggs & x2 slices of bacon on gf bread? £7.95 for the eggs & £2.95 for x2 slices of very thin bacon. Then I also was charged a supplement for being GF as it costs more apparently?

We came across this cafe when we were looking for sofas in Barker and Stonehouse. Its light and airy and clean. You can see through to the kitchen. The staff are so good, polite, attentive . The food is great, it seems to be the kind of menu that most cafes in harrogate don't offer,interesting salads and yummy flavour packed soups, the sort of thing i love to eat at lunch. It has a varied and interesting menu.The coffee is excellent. Plus its independent. I loved it. Worth a trip just for the cafe alone.

It's been awhile since I posted, as I generally only like to make positive reviews, unless something is truly worth avoiding. Anyway with a sigh of reluctance, I agreed to go upstairs in the Barker and Stonehouse store because my wife wanted a coffee, while I wanted to head back into town for a bite to eat, not go upstairs in a furniture store for poor coffee and dried piece of cake. Then gosh, at the back of the store, flooded with light, really nicely designed, is a truly nice and what it says in the name Coffee House & Kitchen. Super friendly staff, all enjoying their day, great coffee, interesting menu and going by what we ordered, which was for me just soup of the day and bacon roll, very tasty and well prepared food, especially looking over at some of the other tables, which were all quite busy, so people obviously go there who are not shopping in the store as it was quiet downstairs. I also had homemade Carrot and pineapple cake, and well, it was a really pleasant surprise, to find such a very special cafe and atmosphere on a retail park, and next time my wife wants to go out that way, having always resisted before, I will be more than happy to go if we can pop upstairs in Barker and Stonehouse and try more of their menu and very friendly, just plain nice atmosphere. I don't find that, that often, maybe I don't go out as much as some, but when I do, I appreciate it and recommend it. My wife took a look at Trip Advisor whilst we were there and noticed some average reviews seemingly based on the cost of coffee and snacks. They sounded a bit unfair to me, we paid I think just over £20 for what we had, and found it to be real value, even if it is perhaps a bit more than the norm for some. So no complaints from us about that.

Up market coffee shop for loght meals

Visited regular as its close to work but I'm very put off by the staff turn over speaks volumes about the management, won't be rushing back luke warm coffee and dry cake, always believe in giving places a second chance but this has happened to often, disappointed

This casual eatery in a furniture shop is worth making a detour for! Very welcoming, professional staff. Excellent selection of freshly prepared dishes. At first glance a little pricey for a coffee shop but this is very good restaurant quality fare - we will be back!

This is the second quick lunch I've had here. The prices make your eyes water and yet, honestly it's worth every penny. Staff are absolutely superb - so charming, so attentive. The food is fabulous. I'm fussy about french onion soup, having a french mother, but they make it as good or better here. A fig and blue cheese salad was glorious - missing the fig, but this was an oversight and quickly corrected. Balance of flavours showed a chef that really knows what they're doing. I'd have liked a bit of a bigger portion for the money, but my waistline will thank you. My only problem with this place is, that the menu is SO GOOD, I always want everything! I'm guessing the high prices stem from a steep ground rent - but the quality and attention to detail justify the prices and I'll go back again and again.

I took my mum for a little retail therapy today and we popped into this delightful place for lunch. Mum had a bacin sandwich while i chose the chicken caeser salad. The arrived beautifully prepared and the coffee is delucious. I enquired about their cakes as i was intriqued by the "Matildas Slice" which we sampled between us as it was a generous portion. All in all it was a fab lunch, beautifully served by friendly knowledgeable staff. What a gem of a place definately worth a visit for the coffee alone!!! And the food is scrumptious
