Storehouse Kitchen in Harrogate

Storehouse Kitchen in Ripon provided a lovely backdrop for a dinner date with my wife. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and relaxed. We started with the liver parfait starter, which was delicious, though we personally felt the beetroot could have been a bit sweeter to balance the dish better. For our mains, we enjoyed the braised daub of beef and the cauliflower steak with a curry sauce. Both dishes were freshly prepared and bursting with flavour. The ambience of the restaurant was relaxing and romantic, making for an enjoyable evening. The staff were attentive and friendly, always approaching our table with a smile and a genuine enthusiasm for their work. Overall, our experience at Storehouse Kitchen was enjoyable, and we look forward to returning in the future.

We received a warm welcome at this relaxed and comfortable restaurant. Plenty of choice on this Sunday menu but we opted for a beef and a pork Sunday roast dinner. The food was well presented, the pork was good, and whilst the beef was tasty some of the gristle was indestructible. Also the plates and serving dishes were barely warm and the food cooled quickly. The service was impeccable.

Really enjoyed the Storehouse, staff are warm and friendly, food is delicious and fairly priced and restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere. Pigeon (pink) and black pudding starter was tasty, Sharon enjoyed coley goujons. Mains - pan fried lamb rump (pink, melt in mouth) was excellent and Sharon's Stonebass fillet with mussel sauce was rated awesome. Cheeseboard had some tasty choices while Sharon's rhubarb and custard 'nailed it'. Thoroughly recommend.

An absolute gem of a place, stumbled across it by accident and so glad we did. Outstanding service with very attentive staff, nice to have proper service for a change. An excellent menu with plenty of choice. Very relaxing atmosphere which is just what we wanted. I had the smoked chicken breast which was lovely and they had my favourite lager! Looking forward to visiting again soon!

The best place to eat & drink in Ripon! We were visiting Ripon for the weekend and booked in at The Storehouse Kitchen for lunch. From taking our order, to making our drinks, all members of staff were welcoming and accommodating, going above and beyond to make shre we were looked after! The food was delicious - great choice of dishes and the cocktails were just as good ( Lychee Coco Joe was exceptional!) We will be back - this is a must when visiting Ripon! 😋🙌🏻

Mothers Day family outing and what a fantastic experience. There were 12 of us and they coped brilliantly. Food was wonderful.

Great welcome and service, delicous food

Of our party of 3, no one was satisfied. The portions were stingy and basic, being very much literally only what you asked for with nothing to stand out and be memorable by. The steamed greens were tough (no one likes spring greens, I expected asparagus). The food didn't have the wow factor as other restaurants that have come before it at the same venue

Went here a few weeks ago for a special meal and it was ok. Staff, service and atmosphere were good, but the food was underwhelming and overpriced. Bread and oil was unacceptable. Like second rate toast and sunflower oil. Would have been more befitting of a breakfast cafe than an evening meal. Main was ok but honestly the smallest piece of fish I have ever been served. I know about food inflation, but seriously?!?! I'll not be dashing back, which is a real shame. Could have been so much better...

We’d been to Fountains Abbey then decided to pop into Ripon for a late lunch & found this absolute jewel of a place. Excellent & diverse menu, food beautifully cooked & presented and the staff & service were impeccable. Declan & Harry were well informed & very personable and a credit to who has had the good sense to put them in charge. Will certainly return.

I was working in Ripon that week and my wife came to stay with me and have a valentine’s evening on the 14th Feb. The Storehouse had been recommended, so I chanced pre booking a table. To my surprise, one was available. We had no preconceived notions of what to expect. It’s not a small restaurant and quite busy. I have difficulty hearing in a busy room, so elected to sit in a corner, which helps me to hear. Where we sat was a tad on the dark side and I needed to use the torch on my phone to read the menu. That wasn’t much of an issue. I ordered hake Kiev from the specials menu. It was awesome! I was so pleased with my choice that I decided to order my desert from the specials menu too. I love desert! All too often, deserts fail to meet expectations. Not this time! I wasn’t really sure what I’d ordered. I thought all the individual items on the menu were individual desserts; wrong! This dessert comprised of caramel glazed base, with ginger, rhubarb, meringue, and sorbet. Sounds like a car crash doesn’t it? Not so, it was a beautiful work of art. And those flavours worked amazingly well together! This stunning desert has set a new benchmark! All my desserts from now on will be compared, but I don’t expect it to be beaten! Despite being extremely busy, the service was excellent too. Such a shame it’s a 2 1/2 hour drive from us, otherwise we would definitely become regulars. Thanks guys for making our valentines evening a little bit special!

Really good atmosphere. Excellent service - all staff are polite and know the menu really well. Food is really good and demonstrates that they really think about their ingredients. Parsnip soup is full of flavour. Children’s menu is super as it has options that have been really thought through. We would definitely recommend a visit and will be booking a table again soon.

We ordered the sourdough with butter oil and vinegar to start, it was not olive oil, if anything it was a mix, not appetising. Then we ordered the sea trout, our serving was half a portion , very small meal in general. I feel it was all very over priced. The staff were excellent though.

I heard only good reviews about this institution. Finally, she came by herself. I really liked the dessert, just a feast for the eyes and an enchanting taste. Such a cozy and homely atmosphere. Reserve a table.

The variety of foods to choose from was perfect for the four of us to make a varied choice of menu selections. Each dish was perfectly balanced in flavours. We all enthused over our choices, each saying we had the best! We normally have two courses when eating out. We all had three! I think that tells you how good the food was. A lovely evening with friends made even better with faultless service, timed to our wishes and courteous throughout. Thank you to the chefs for making such lovely food, and thank you front of house staff for perfect and friendly service. Would I come again - absolutely!

After visiting the Cathedral the 6 of us (3) couples headed for the Storehouse Kitchen. A friendly and inviting welcomed us along with a server asking if he could take our coats. We were then shown to our seats along a fabulous table setting with a welcome from the manager? Water arrived the asked for our drinks before organising our meals. What a fantastic meal we had with all but two being too full to finish their Sunday lunches. A number of sweets were ordered along with more drinks and finally cheese board to round off what was a fantastic afternoon.

Had a lovely lunch of sandwiches with a side of fries. Delicious and very reasonable. We had a pot of Yorkshire tea alongside complementary water. Great menu, will return to try other choices, service wonderful. Think maybe coffee is expensive, £3 70 for a flat white!!

We ate here with friends for Sunday lunch. Nice surprise to be offered rare roast beef which was very tender. All four of us had main and desserts which we all enjoyed, service was attentive but relaxed. The restaurant is dog friendly throughout. Will definately return if we are back in the area.

Thank you so much for a fantastic lunch today. Relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The kitchen couldn’t be more helpful in fulfilling our needs. Made up a special afternoon tea as a surprise for my Mum’s birthday. Super sized portions and absolutely delicious. We’ll be back very soon.

We popped in for a late lunch and received a nice welcome. A good menu with interesting choices including light snacks. A jug of tap water was immediately delivered. We had one course each which was perfect. The seabass with butternut squash, broccoli etc was really tasty - excellent. Also the seafood soup was excellent with a large amount of seafood and great bread. Perfect lunch.

We popped in on the off chance during a day out to Ripon, and were very pleasantly suprised. The atmosphere is really nice, and the staff attentive. The food was delicious, and my fussy daughter loved her macaroni cheese - it was a really nice change to see "proper" food on the kids menu rather than the normal frozen cheap rubbish that places generally serve kids. The lunch menu was very good value, and the whole family have agreed we would love to go back if we are ever in Ripon again.

My wife and I visited around 7 and found everything to be great. Service was fast but not rushed and food was amazing. Steak was done perfectly and my vegetarian option was one of the best I've had in a long time.

My wife picked out this little gem of a restaurant on our way back from the moors, had no idea it even existed (have been going to Ripon for 20+ years) The atmosphere is nice, calm and relaxed allowing you to enjoy your surroundings, and the food was absolutely fantastic. We both had the Club Sandwich which was VERY generous in size, I had a pint of Moretti and my wife a soft drink and it cosats us £30! Honestly if you find yourself in Ripon, give this place a try.

I was looking around Ripon for tea and cake, when I saw the desserts on the menu here and decided to try. I wasn't sure if it would be OK to get a pot of Earl Grey, a bread basket and a dessert, with it being more of a restaurant/wine bar but the guy was absolutely great about it. And it was worth asking. The bread and hummus were amazing, but the rhubarb panecotta? I would drive the 80 miles back there for that experience alone 😋

Called in for the first time yesterday, I hadn't been to Ripon for quite some time so looking around I was taken by the look of the brunch menu and tried out the chipolata sausages with fried egg, mushrooms and tomatoes with toasted sourdough, it was perfect and just what I was looking for. That said there were a couple of other choices that made the final decision tricky. The Storehouse Kitchen is now in my little black book of eating places. (As I mentioned on the day, the German word for food envy I couldn't remember is FUTTERNEID )

This is where things are a bit less than expected. The food wasn't bad exactly, just a bit bland and lackluster, especially the veg, which I would easily say, I could've done better myself at home (which is not what you want to be saying of a restaurant meal). The veg accompanying the roast was just very basic, very little flavour and no real creativity, like what was shown with the starters. The meat was cooked well and the Yorkshire's were amazing it must be said. Desserts were again pretty pleasant. My wife ordered the cheeseboard and enjoyed it for the most part, one cheese she found a bit too salty and I agreed, but that is perhaps just personal preference so I won't hold it against the restaurant. I myself had the raspberry Panna cotta and I have no complaints. It was a beautiful dish with lovely combinations of flavour and well presented. Overall we did really enjoy our night and again I can emphasise enough how good the service was, it's been quite a long time since I've had service like that and it is a true credit to the staff of this restaurant, so if they see this, all I can say is well done and thank you. Like I said earlier, we will be going back again to try the weekday menu and see if our experience fairs any better regarding the mains.

so....on a wet Sunday we rolled in at 14.00...not a sole in the place....was this an omen ? ...lets see...the service was simply fantastic...sausage roll off the menu...as was chorizo pie...well it was Sunday....but...having ordered a selection of flat bread (pizza), baked camembert, humus, sweet...

Food was absolutely lovely, well worth the cost. Menu is nice and simple, doesnt overload you for choices, little bit of something for most of us. Easy enough to find, inside looks nice and cosy, staff were very friendly. I would recommend booking your table, to be safe as its not the biggest place (which is preferable if want somewhere that's not going to be overcrowded) and the booking is simple enough. Plenty of parking choices close by that is within like 5min walking distance of the place.
