A wonderful find. Spotlessly clean, very good range of food priced appropriately. The spinach, spiced cauliflower & lentil pie was delicious. Staff cheerful and friendly. Lovely original decor with good attention to detail ( there were scissors provided at the table to cut the individual condiment satchets).

Yorkshire breakfast to die for. It was delicious!!! You can tell the employees are happy in their work. Very friendly with a good 'down to earth' Yorkshire welcome!!!

Great sandwiches - the Wensleydale and pickle was off the charts for taste, quality. Rounded off with a phenomenal pot of tea. Lovely serving staff.

A day visit to Ripon, came across this little cafe nestled in a back street, a stone's throw from the cathedral. Ordered two Yorkshire breakfast and a pot of tea for two. Very friendly service, nothing too much trouble, lovely cosy little restaurant. The food arrived quickly and was SO good, lovely quality, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Pot of tea was huge, plus an extra of boiled water for top up and the offer of more if needed! Luckily they also have customer toilets 😁 Can definitely recommend, they have a good and varied menu and even allow dogs. Thankyou 😁

What a friendly welcome! Immaculate restaurant/cafe/toilets. Pleasant atmosphere with a mix of diners. Mouth-watering cake although I did not have time to try one sadly (but will do next time). Had a latte and a sandwich - cheese with carrot and an orange marmalade chutney, few crisps and nice bit of salad. It was absolutely delicious. Next time I will try a jacket potato. Interesting range of meals and snacks available. Beautifully served. Well worth visiting for breakfast, lunch or tea. Not expensive for the quality of food provided.

Needed some takeaway sandwiches and had read that Thug were the best, plus they do gluten free options. We got a gluten free curried chicken and a 'normal' KFCaesar sandwich. Both were delicious and crammed full of filling. The gluten free bread was also very good.

Has been closed for a few months now and I recently read on their FB page that they are not reopening. A pity as it was a decent local place with very good food.

It was everything I had hoped for. Beautiful, top quality food in a relaxed but resolutely professional setting. The chefs, Aled and Richard, are incredibly skilled and chatted easily to the table of ten while plating our 14 'snacks' - I was pretty full by round 10 but managed to squeeze in the fabulous final four sweet dishes. The team set an ideal pace, moving us along through the varied menu without feeling rushed. Paul, the sommelier, was a wonderful host. Greeting us with champagne on arrival and curating a varied and interesting selection of wine pairings with charming introductions for each one. He also doubled up as an excellent cocktail maker as the evening progressed. Book it now you won't regret it!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at “The Cud Life” campsite in the stunning Yorkshire countryside, this campsite offers the perfect blend of tranquility, natural beauty, and good facilities. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The site itself is well maintained and most important quiet, with spacious pitches. Whether you’re pitching a tent, parking a campervan, or staying in one of their cozy cottages, you’ll find everything you need for a comfortable stay. The shower blocks are clean with plenty of hot water. But what truly sets *The Cud Life* apart is the people. A special shout-out to Mark, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. His friendliness and genuine enthusiasm were infectious! He was always on hand to offer helpful tips about the local area and recommended some good sights to visit. Mark’s kindness and dedication truly made this a memorable stay. If you’re looking for a campsite that combines natural beauty, good facilities, and a warm, welcoming vibe, “The Cud Life” is the place to be. And if you’re lucky enough to meet Mark, you’ll understand why this place feels so special. We will return one day! Highly recommended!

Last weekend, we were recommended to try Vanilli’s Artisan 🍨at Harrogate– and it was incredible! We tried the Oreo & Vanilla and the Salted Caramel & Belgian Chocolate – which really amazed me because the combination of rich Belgian chocolate and sweet-salty caramel was magic. They also have dairy-free options, soya, coconut, sorbet.🍧 Vanilli’s is tucked away in a quiet corner, it’s a hidden gem you’ll want to find. Get there early though , especially on the European Artisanal Gelato Day on 24 March– flavours sell out fast! By fishenjoylife
