We are a group three couples who stumbled across this lovely cafe whilst walking the Hartwith Round. The coffee and all the cakes were absolutely delicious served by a very welcoming and friendly face. It is in an idyllic location and I would do the walk again just to enjoy this little cafe. A little gem of a place which puts some warmth into your heart.

This fab cafe is such a welcome place right on the Nidderdale Way. We couldn't believe it when we saw it and what a welcome you receive. Great cakes and tea and it is run by really lovely people. We sat their for ages and also took cakes to go. Can't rate it highly enough. Only accessible to walkers and cyclists. No cars!! All seating is outside so perfect in the current environment

If your out & about, walking in Nidderdale then you just have to call in at Smeltbakes for a much deserved treat. The cakes are all homemade and absolutely delicious. No scrimping on the sizes either, you get a treat to support all that walking. Along with the cakes, you can enjoy a Tea, Coffee or can of pop, pies that are made in the local butchers and even a treat for your furry friend in the form of dog ice-cream. Katie (who owns the business and bakes all the luscious cakes) is brilliant and will ensure you have the best visit possible. This place is definitely one that you need to visit.

We are regular visitors to Smeltbakes. There are lots of lovely walks in the area that can be tweaked to include a visit - and a promised trip to Smeltbakes is the only way that we can drag our kids out for a walk without grumbling. The cakes are always delicious (let them know in advance if you need a gluten-free option) and we love a rummage in the book stall/swap. Cannot recommend highly enough. All the tables are outside, so no problems with social distancing. There's no parking at Smeltbakes, so either walk, ride or cycle - or park up the main road and walk down from there.

I've been visiting this amazing little place for a while .. The foods incredible as is the setting... But what sets it apart is the owner. She is so friendly and makes me and lola the labrador feel so welcome, even special.. The book swap is a brilliant idea and I would recommend visiting to anyone. There are not many places left like this..

We discovered this little gem whilst on a walk from Brimham Rocks to Patley Bridge. The service was fantastic as were the scrumptious cakes. Definitely worth stopping. They also had a free water bottle top up point! Really good value.

Fabulous little bakery on the Nidderdale way, perfect for walkers and cyclists (and doggies too) If you are doing the Way of The Roses Cycle route then you should definitely consider a tiny detour for a scheduled stop here. We had the privilege of stopping in a cottage a few hundred yards away, which meant we were able to visit twice in the weekend. The homemade cakes were fabulous, great portions, great value for money and great quality home baking. There is frozen yoghurt for your doggies, peanut butter and banana is the flavour to go for, my two loved it. Katie gave us some great local tips too and was a real pleasure to talk to. We can’t wait to return the next time we are in the area.

A Delightful Italian Treat at Brio Café in Harrogate. Yesterday, we visited Brio Café in Harrogate, an Italian gem that exceeded our expectations. The experience was nothing short of excellent. We enjoyed a latte paired with an apple and raspberry-topped cake that was both fresh and delicious—a perfect combination of flavors. The hot chocolate was rich and comforting, while the Baileys hot chocolate added a luxurious twist. The service was impeccable, with staff who was warm and attentive, adding to the overall charm of the visit. The atmosphere of the café was cozy, making it an ideal spot to relax and indulge. Brio Café truly captures the essence of Italian hospitality. We can't recommend it enough and will certainly be returning for another delightful experience!
