The Yorkshire Tea Room in Harrogate

Stopped at the tearoom for lunch during a visit to Ripon. My wife had the savoury cream tea. It was the best scone she has ever had, delicious. I had the ham and cheese toastie. This was also delicious, better than any offering I've made myself. Definitely worth a visit.

This is absolutely the best cafe for miles. We travel to come here. The food is absolutely fabulous. Cooked in an amaculate open kitchen by the owner. The staff including his wife (owner) are just so lovely. Always feel welcome. Beautiful and clean and the food is just wonderful. 5 star all the way. Just perfection x x

Took my 85 year old mother out for her birthday desperate for a coffee we stumble across this quaint little cafe’. On entry we were welcomed so warmly and when our order was taken lo and behold the owner was Elaine who I worked with and her Mam and Dad over 32 years ago. The coffee was spot on and I am a serious coffee drinker. The food was beautiful and the feel of the place was so warm and friendly. I totally recommend this fabulous cafe in Ripon. A small cosy space with friendly staff, excellent coffee and a range of cakes, excellent for a mid morning break as we passed through.

Only had a pot of tea, served very nicely by a pleasant young lady...No issues, service fine, quality fine. We were going to have our normal Decaf coffee ( I cannot take too much caffiene for medical reasons these days ), but they decide to charge an extra 50p for decaf. I can honestly say I have never experienced this anywhere else. Prices can vary, but its not that different!

Delightful busy tea rooms, offering freshly made light meals, snacks and cakes. Excellent efficient friendly service. Good range of choices and cakes. Generous portions.

This was our second visit to this lovely little tearoom, even though we visit Ripon quite often from our home in Doncaster. You are always met with a warm welcome and the staff are very friendly. There are so many choices of meals to choose from as well as at this time of year the Winter Warmers, which consist of a hot meal,( when we visited it was chicken curry or minced beef with dumpling and then you can also have a hot pudding) The coffee is really good as well, which is a bonus as Colin, my husband, is quite fussy when it comes to his coffee and on this visit he even had a second cup. We always finish with a scone, which are amazing. We even bought a couple to take home with us. The Yorkshire Tearooms is a quirky little place for either breakfast, light lunch, dinner or just coffee and a cake whilst in lovely Ripon. Ps don't miss all the funny signs on the wall near the toilets., they will make you smile. Well done everyone and hope to see you again at our next visit to Ripon

A wonderful tea room in Ripon - we were warmly welcomed and shown to a wonderful table in the window. The menu was great - we were a little spoilt for choice - and the specials sounded good too. We opted for sandwiches and cream tea - all of which was delicious and served at a relaxed and steady pace. Found the menu good value for money - for good quality home-cooked food. Staff were brilliant. Would definitely return and can't recommend enough.

We had a great lunch today at the Yorkshire Tearoom. We chose the winter warmers menu. I had mince and dumpling, while Jill had steak pie. It came with creamy mashed potato, peas,carrot and turnip. Then jam roly poly and custard. Proper winter warmer food for a cold day in the friendly market town of Ripon. Lovely staff with great customer service, An excellent menu with tasty food at fair price. I had the tuna melt with one of the best salads I’ve ever eaten. I also had a lovely coffee (flat white)

Me and my partner went for the winter warmer meal deal (£12.50) as we had heard great things! It was great value for money and all homemade, I had the mince and dumplings and my partner had the steak pie followed by the sticky toffee pudding to share! Delicious! We will be back!

Stopped at the tearoom on our way down from Northumberland. The cream tea was beautiful we had one of the sultans scones and one of the orange and cranberry scones plus a round of coronation chicken sandwiches, which came with a dressed salad and coleslaw. The tea provided was so good, I was able to drink it without milk. Their use of China cups, saucers and plates was charming. My only suggestion would be that the scones were warmed before serving.

The best omelette i’ve ever had!! All meals came with a side salad with tasty honey mustard dressing that me and my partner both loved!! Very friendly atmosphere created by the helpful staff, we will be back!!

We had the Cheese & Ham Quiche and the cheese tomatoe & red onion Quiche meals and 2 Teas. The meals were Excellent The quiche was the Best Quiche we have ever tasted (made by the owner) it came with an abundance of salad slaw dressing and New potatoes . It was amazing. We can’t recommend this hidden gem enough. Thank you so much 5 storer🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

First visit this morning, we had English breakfast, Yorkshire tea and coffee. It was spot on, quality food perfectly cooked. Food was hot and so were the plates. The place is spotless and nicely decorated and the staff were quick, attentive and friendly. Good value too. We will be back ( for lunch next time ).

Excellent food and service every time we visit this lovely tearoom. Can recommend the omelettes, toasties, sandwiches, breakfast and not forgetting the scones and cakes. We always leave feeling full and well looked after!

We haven't been able to visit for a while now as we have a new puppy. However, we did manage to get our first visit in since February/March at the weekend whilst we had some family visiting & pup was welcome to suit under the table too. Our pup is just 20 weeks & behaved ever so well, it was really so good to be back & have a delightful breakfast. We always enjoy coming here, the food is exceptional & of excellent quality. I had the regular traditional breakfast, I do not eat tomatoes so asked for extra mushrooms. The bacon is cooked perfectly always. Son has a sausage & egg roll, which was amazing as you can see - only opened to add some ketchup. Husband & Daughter had the large traditional breakfast (which I failed to photograph). We also took some cake home with us too, great value for money. Lovely staff & such a fabulous little café, we enjoy every visit we make here Elaine & Colin run such a brilliant hidden gem here in Ripon. Yes we know them by name & they know us by name too as we keep returning when we can. Cannot recommend the place enough, if you are local or visiting do make time to pop in for coffee & cake or better still have a meal while you are there - you will not be disappointed if you live good quality, freshly cooked food. An absolute delight.

Back again for another fantastic lunch, once again the welcome is great. I had the home cooked ham with salad which also had homemade coleslaw. Jill had the bacon and brie ciabatta melt. Both lovely and tasty , followed by desserts cherry and almond cake plus ice cream ,fruit and a squirt of cream. Washed down by Yorkshire tea. Just a fantastic well run tearoom with fresh delicious food and warm and friendly staff.

We had Coffee & walnut and Victoria sponge with a pot of tea for two. It's was absolutely 💯 spot on. Second to none.

After visiting Ripon today it was time to call into our special Tea Room, and we were not disappointed., A very friendly welcome and lots appetizing food to choose from. I had the quiche salad and my partner the ham salad, they were both delicious It was such a lovely day we decided to try the ice cream sundaes, they were absolutely mouth-watering. What a fantastic day, not to mention the new décor which is really pretty.

Visited for the first time today on our way to the races, arrived just after breakfast service had finished, but breakfast menu looks good for another time, The homemade quiche was perfect, so tasty and such good value for money, lovely coffee too, Staff make this place a delight, lovely home cooked food and friendly service, just what we like, and we will definitely be back.

We have tried most of Ripon's cafes and this is definitely our favourite. It serves the best coffee in the city and the cakes and scones are excellent.

We found this little place earlier in the week the best brew and lemon drizzle cake ever had , so decided to go back today before heading back home. Great tea room. Staff were friendly, welcoming, helpful and efficient. They met all our requests at short notice to deliver an excellent afternoon tea. Well spaced out tables to deliver a clean and safe environment. The lemon and ginger sponge with rhubarb jam was one of the nicest cakes I have ever tasted. Tea was lovely and strong. Added some delicious Brymor ice cream to finish off an enjoyable visit. Credit to the management and staff. Looking forward to eating here again. Thank you.

We had broccoli and Stilton soup with a cheese scone followed by a lemon drizzle slice and a ginger cake with rhubarb jam. All very yummy and obviously home made. The service was excellent and it was a pleasure to eat there.

A lovely, 'proper tea room' with good, wholesome food and friendly staff. We called in for lunch and the hot dishes of the day were 'Liver & onions with veg & mash', and 'Mince & crunchy dumpling with veg & mash', and they were both very generous portions and they were very tasty indeed. The service was friendly and personal, and it's a great find. We'll be back next time we visit Ripon.

Been meaning to visit for a while and finally made it!Lovely light tearoom offering traditional home cooked food.Clean and spotless.New owners and staff were very friendly and offer a loyalty card.2 visits so far, first time had eaten a quick lunch elsewhere but on a cold and windy day was tempted by a sweet pudding treat .Which went down a treat!Our 2nd visit we had the mince and dumplings, as part of a winter warmer special menu.Tasty and portion size just right, alas too full to have the sweet on this occasion.Prices are very good especially the winter warmer menu - a real bargain!Made very welcome on both visits and will certainly visit again when in Ripon.

Made a short stop in ripon while heading north and called in this lovely tearoom for a scone and jam and clotted cream. Gorgeous Scones with very generous helping of clotted cream. Friendly staff. My wife and I are from Sheffield and recently had a night away in Pickering. On the way up we decided to call off in Ripon to grab lunch.We've been to Ripon before but when walking round on a cold day, we were astonished and disappointed to see a lack of independent cafes until we came across The Yorkshire Tea Room when walking along using Google maps.We are glad we came across the cafe as we enjoyed our food there. We each had a coronation chicken jacket potato and a tea and we found the staff to be really friendly and pleasant. We were starving and so pleased to finally find somewhere nice to eat rather than go to the usual chain cafes.Thank you Yorkshire Tea Room. We definitely recommend for a nice, affordable lunch spot if you're in the area.
