The location is great with a spectacular view of the bay. The staff are polite and efficient but that was it. The cafe is dark and uninviting, seriously in need of a make-over. The cappucino was just foamy milk, it didn't taste of coffee. One cake was really sugary and the other, Victoria sponge, was dry and had very sweet butter icing. For the price I thought it was pooe. I wouldn't go again.

Welcome great, room small but only in it few hours each day stay in 1 week with coach tour. Staff the best.Chef is excellent food presentation Fantastic . Could not fault it.Lots to do in hotel and area around. Bar not over priced as a lot of hotels are. We will go again ASAP. Manager very hands on and very pleasant, One young lady (girl) stood out served coffee after meal and helped our small team with quiz answers. She should have award as staff member of the year. Lovely young lady.

We visited for lunch on a recent visit to Scarborough. The restaurant was very busy and the menu looked good so we went in. Very cosy, traditional cafe. Extensive menu, great food and excellent value for money. We had cottage pie (with extra gravy!) and scampi, chips and salad. The service was friendly and efficient and our meals were very tasty and hot. Generous portions. Very highly recommended. Well worth going out of your way for.

Another super weekend of music at the Crescent Hotel! Thurs eve was Blues with the wonderful Alastair James, Friday was Open Mic night, Saturday was Nils' (Events&Bar Manager) 40th Birthday with a great Oasis tribute band and DJ sets until 3am and then tonight we listened to the talented singer&guitarist, Jack Robertson, who covers songs from Dylan to the Arctic Monkeys. The bar staff are endlessly chirpy, efficient and friendly. Thanks all. I'm looking forward to events such as Rocky Horror, Punk Rock and Swing Nights as well as the regular Blues night.......

Fab location and prices seemed reasonable. Had a coffee that was cold and a piece of flapjack that was awful. It was almost like it wasn't cooked. Took one mouthfull and left the rest which was a shame as we'd walked a few miles to get there. Shame our experience wasn't as good as everyone else's.

Lovely location and ambience. Friendly welcome and knowledgeable, eclectic wine collection. I found my food bland - scallops starter, halibut main and trio of small puddings of which the lime meringue was tasty but strawberry sponge supermarket standard. Others enjoyed their ceab claws and seafood mornay dishes

This pub/restaurant is under new ownership but the food and the drinks are still of exceptional quality. We visited at lunchtime (midweek), we had reserved our table in advance (this is advisable) and we were met with a very warm welcome. The menu has changed but still offers a good selection. The quality of the food was very good and the presentation appealing. Always a must when we visit this area. Good luck going forward, this place remains a firm favourite with us

We decided to order a take away as we normally eat in, but didn’t want to leave the pooch. We ordered the set meal for two people which consisted of 8 x mini spring rolls, 4x spare ribs, 2 x main dishes, 2 x portion fried rice and prawn crackers. We ordered over the phone and it was ready to collect in 20 minutes, we got it back and it was all red hot. The ribs were large and very tasty in sauce and plenty of meat, the spring rolls were crispy. We had chicken curry & chicken sechzuan which was very tasty and colourful with veg and meat and plenty of rice. We really enjoyed both dishes and had a portion left over for supper and our pooch enjoyed some prawn crackers. All in all it was great value and very tasty, filling food. I would definitely recommend either a take away or eat in.

Wow! This pub is an absolute gem, brimming with locals and hard workers. It's bustling and lively, but that only adds to the charm. For me, it’s an important reminder that life’s still buzzing and people are connecting, socialising, and strengthening their ties. We stumbled upon this place based on a glowing recommendation from a Whitby local, and let me tell you, it was the best decision ever. The food and service here are unmatched! In fact, we’ve decided that from now on, whenever we venture to the North East, our evenings will be spent indulging in the culinary delights of this fantastic pub. We can't wait for our next visit!

Comfy apartments in a great location overlooking the sea from an angle up on the hill. Shame we didn't get to try their onsite pool, sauna, and gym though. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Almost everything perfect, except for a few strange broken window blinds in the rooms. Lift also smelled funny. Not the cheapest place either considering similar places in town at lower prices.

Homely welcoming pub with an excellent, unusual and creative menu. Everything is cooked to order which, understandably, takes some time. The service is friendly and efficient and the whole establishment has a lovely feel. Highly recommended for a meal with a difference in the Whitby area.

The food here is superb. Served hot on hot plates. We had Doreen's black pudding on mustard mash to start and that was tasty with a lovely sauce. The mains of monkfish with scallops outstanding and again a superb sauce plus a great range of fresh vegetables. Highly recommended.
