We have eaten at the Hare and Hounds a number of times over the year’s and it never disappoints. The specials board is a must the staff are great and the atmosphere inviting and relaxing. You must go and try.
Walked in and the woman behind the counter was just plain rude so we left
So much for Yorkshire hospitality
Can’t see this surviving if that’s the approach they take with visitors
Escondido en una calle llena de carácter encontramos este café apropiado con una historia linda. Decoración para adaptarse a su ambiente peculiar que establece la escena. Atraídos por las diferentes opciones de menú para el desayuno junto con el... Absolutamente delicioso. Servicio amable. Un gran hallazgo.
Two friends and I visited Mallyan Spout for an afternoon tea, (£50 for two, £28 for one). From entering to leaving we couldn’t have had a more perfect afternoon. Surroundings were beautiful, the staff were attentive, highly trained and very friendly and the afternoon tea was gorgeous!!! Three different types of sandwiches, sausage roll, four different cakes plus a scone with jam and cream, massive pot of tea. Extremely good value for money. Highly recommended.

The Horseshoe Hotel has the look of a well loved farmhouse. The route to the bedrooms has staircases fore and aft with steps left and right with one at the very bottom to catch the unwary.
We saw the earplugs in room 6 before we spotted the foraging chickens below its window, and prior to hearing the cockerells.
The shower could do with a shelf or just a ledge as I got soaked when I retreived the dropped bodywash.
The real fires were a welcome sight, despite the dining room hearth and fireplace appearing to be smaller and possibly less grand than it once was.
We called in here on a bitterly cold February afternoon during the half term holidays during a trip on the NYMR. When we went in to the back 'extension', all the tables appeared to be occupied but we spotted one that was just waiting to be cleared. The waitress told us to take a seat and she would clear it and wipe it down, which she promptly did. I had the soup and sandwich deal, my wife had the warm quiche with salad, both with Yorkshire tea. The soup was piping hot and the sandwich had plenty of filling in it, my wife said the quiche was nice too.
When I went into the main part of the tea room to order and pay, all the tables in there were also full ( I presumed dogs weren't allowed in that part but not sure ). About £22 in total, which I thought was good value. Not too long waiting after ordering our food, the staff were friendly, knew what they were doing and were very efficient.
This place is amazing the sweet milky coffee with a bacon bap is one of the things I go to Scarborough for. My father n law and I love it here as for some other comments saying it’s expensive I don’t agree, I thinks it’s great value for money. The staff are always friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I also love theme if it the theme hasn’t changed since I’ve been going for 20 + years and the quality hasn’t changed. I just love it.
Such a shame, this restaurant was fabulous. Great staff, amazing food, never failed to impress. Wishing you all the best in the future. We are gutted we couldn’t visit before you close.
