We booked as a large group for our lads rugby tour (nearly 50 people) and I can’t fault the restaurants assistance in catering for such a large party on a bank holiday weekend. Everyone commented on the fresh and tasty food and all the staff worked really hard. Food did take a while due to such a large group to accommodate but everyone said they’d rather wait & have it made fresh and flavoursome like it was 👏. Everyone had a fantastic meal.
A huge well done to the team and thank you.
Could not recommend this place to anyone enough.
It is a total hidden gem in a little village near the sea side. We honestly never get fish and chips at the beach. We always come here after a nice leg stretch and dog walk. The pub is dog friendly and also serve pies for dogs which I just think is amazing!
Nevertheless if you’re not a dog lover you’ll be pleased to know there’s an area for people with dogs. I’d say 3/4 of the dining area is not for dogs. I however am a dog lover and take my dog so it’s perfect. There is also a separate restaurant area where no dogs are allowed at all and you get a proper dining experience with a restaurant feel. We however prefer to sit in the pub side.
I have to say not sure if it’s the owner or manager or chef but I noticed how every chance he got he was coming out to check how peoples food was as well as the staff and chipping in with collecting glasses ect which you don’t often see from an owner. It just showed a really good team spirit which I thought was so lovely to see. All the staff in fact are so pleasant and lovely. I’ve honestly never ever ever had a bad experience here it’s so consistent and the food is honestly just absolutely to die for.
They also offer a lot of gluten free and vegan options too. My favourite pie is a skewbald pie. Highly recommended.
I’m currently on holiday dreaming of coming home and getting one of these pies very soon.
One of my favourite places to eat ever you just honestly have to try it for yourselves you’ll never be disappointed.
We stumbled on Pomodoro by chance, as we were trying to escape Scarborough’s beach and arcades area. This is really an excellent, reasonably priced Italian restaurant. Both my spaghetti bolognese and my partner’s Quattro formaggi pizza were delicious. Service was attentive to our needs and friendly. Good for families with children.
Lovely fresh fish and chips served by friendly attentive staff. We travel quite some distance to come here for food. Good that they also have skate and plaice available, as well as crab salad.
Closed in Mondays, which is a shame, but they need a day off!
Car park is fairly small but there's free parking nearby. Disabled access through the takeaway door. Most tables are in the nice and light conservatory. Seating is basic but very comfy. Easy to accommodate a wheelchair.
Also worth visiting the antiques centre across the road while you're there.
We were only in town for the night and called last minute for a table, we were squeezed in last minute, the food and service were amazing, we'll definitely be back when next in Scarborough.
We booked a table as this was a highly rated place for a roast dinner near Scarborough. I had called ahead and enquired about vegetarian roast dinner options for my girlfriend. On the phone I was assured there were multiple options and although this technically was the case, neither were necessarily the best accompaniments for a roast (stuffed pepper and stuffed pasta). The service was great and we had a lovely table in a corner and the atmosphere was cozy and great. I ordered the beef roast dinner and my girlfriend ordered the stuffed peppers with a roast. The food came relatively quickly. The selection of vegetables was nice and was a welcomed change to have red cabbage and cheesy leeks although they would have been a bit more generous with the portion size as it was to share between the 2 of us. It would have also been nice to have some optional extras on the menu like a portion of cauliflower cheese. The roast dinner also only came with 2 roast potatoes which were really big but would have preferred 3 or 4 smaller ones. It came with a jug of gravy however it was meat gravy and there was not a vegetarian alternative but luckily my girlfriends stuffed peppers were quite saucy so her dinner wasn't dry. My beef was nice however it was slightly chewy and could have been hotter coming out and was only kept warm by hot gravy. Bit of an irrelevant side note but the loos were really nice! Everything else was really lovely and we did have a nice meal and I appreciate it is a small country pub in Scarborough but if you advertise as vegetarian friendly then I think it needs to follow through fully - for example being advised they don't have a veggie gravy upon ordering the dinner or even having a veggie alternative. I'm sorry to be negative, especially when we did have such a lovely time (hence the 4 stars) bu my girlfriend has been vegetarian for 5 years and situations like these feel very frustrating and easily avoidable if staff are more aware and informed.
Absolutely 💯 excellent service the food the wine and especially the service this place is a little gem taken over now as our favorite place next to cafe fish 🙏💙well done and keep
Up the good work
Excellent food and service! The portions are large and the sides are as well. We had the burger and lasagna. Both were exceptional.
We would recommend going here.
The food service does stop at 8PM.
They have live bands some weekends.
