Bought lovely fresh cakes from shop / staff very helpful and smiling faces and attentive. However based on that experience we decided to go upstairs to tea room for lunch on a wet miserable day (Tuesday 9th July) a small queue - one couple in front of us - lady (supervisor?) behind the desk asked us if we had booked, my husband said no…
She continued to prepare orders, help cashier who was clearly inexperienced at using til and completely ignored us and the couple waiting in front of us. The tearoom was not busy, lots of empty tables … she continued to prepare orders, we continued to wait, not a word to either of us 2 couples waiting to re-assure us she would get us seated! Having waited for over 10 minutes on a quiet day - I looked at my husband and said I was leaving and would find another establishment who I’m sure would welcome us and be happy for us to eat and spend our money with them.
Bothams can take pride of your shop and staff but less can be said for how your tea room is managed …. Won’t be going there again !! Did not like her manner or attitude - maybe she needs further training in customer care !
Every visit to Scarborough we have a meal at this restaurant. We have never been disappointed. The food and service is always first class. We had the fish dishes after having had very tasty starters.
The best pub food in a long time. Cannot recommend this place enough.
Speedy service, no complaints on the standard of food.
Customer service is second to none.
If your in Staithes and fancy a bite to eat then this is the place
Just called in on route for a quick half while on a mini break........four drinks later, we found ourselves feeling like it had been our local for years. We didn't eat, as nothing from the menu jumped out at us. Maybe next time.
While exploring Robin Hoods Bay we stumbled across the quirky, cool Cove. Had a quick glimpse inside and liked the look of the place and the music was good too.
Chose real Yorkshire Tea, Lemon Frangipane Slice and a White Chocolate, Lemon and Blueberry Tart - everything was tasty. We sat outside on the terrace overlooking the sea.
As we were leaving we had a lovely chat with the friendly owners.

Really disappointed. I drive 80 miles to eat breakfast with sea view amd place its close. Will be great if someone update openings times in this place.
We booked for Sunday lunch and took our dog Teddy.
The staff were brilliant - moved us to a quieter corner so Ted couldn't try to eat people's yorkshire puds 🤣
The food was amazing, fresh, cooked to perfection, plenty to eat , the yorkshires were definitely a show stopper - no wonder Ted wanted one -
Would definitely go again 😊
Went for Sunday lunch and just loved it. Quality champagne by the glass very reasonably priced. Fabulous, delicious food in large portions. We took our spare veggies home for supper. Great views and attentive, discrete service. Can't wait to go back for dinner menu.

Visited with a group of friends, 8 in total for an evening meal. Greeted by Megan, our friendly & helpful waitress and seated at our table. Between us, we selected 4 starters, onion rings, cheesy tots and garlic bread which were lovely. Eight main courses (Pizza, classic Parmo and burgers) were served a little later and whilst personally, I had no complaints (other than my fries could have been a little warmer), four of the group were served food that was barely warm. A little disappointing to be honest and below the standards of a previous visit however, when the issues were brought to Megan’s attention, the matter was dealt with efficiently and appropriately with a discount applied. I’m sure it was perhaps just an off night and I will return.
Dropped in for a bite to eat and decided to try the roast lamb Sunday dinner, which was superb. Every mouthful was a delight, the lamb was juicy, tender and plentiful, veg selection was an excellent choice of parsnip, red cabbage, cauliflower cheese, kale, carrots and green beans, creamy mashed potato as well as crispy roast potatoes and of course, a big crispy Yorkshire pudding plus delicious gravy. Service was excellent, restaurant was clean, warm and inviting, we highly recommend trying it for yourself.
We have eaten at the Hare and Hounds a number of times over the year’s and it never disappoints. The specials board is a must the staff are great and the atmosphere inviting and relaxing. You must go and try.
