Monsoon Indian cuisine in Scarborough

Absolutely fantastic food, staff were attentive and polite. Clean plates from all 4 of us. The only thing that let it down was that people who had ordered take out, were hovering to collect their food. I would highly recommend , just a shame that they are not any monsoons in west yorkshire

Came for my partner's birthday and the restaurant although was very busy, we were looked after and had amazing food, will return when back in area. Our waiter Mahadi was very attentive and helped us choose and to be honest both were really lovely dish so thanks 😊👍 see you again

First time trying this place, and we were drawn in by the great reviews — and we’re so glad we went! The food was incredible, the staff friendly, and the interior very clean. The atmosphere was great too, with a solid menu to choose from. Pro tip: always ask for your dish to be made Asian-style. You’ll thank me later!

Went there last night 11/5/25 with my wife and 2 kids and I can honestly say it's the best Indian we've ever had, the staff are lovely, very clean and tidy, lovely quiet and relaxing atmosphere, very welcoming and friendly. We got 3 meals with starters & sides for £57. I can't fault this place at all, highly recommend. Absolutely fantastic 👏

Whilst holidaying in the area on a local touring park,we all fancied an Indian takeaway. Monsoon was the nearest,so off we popped and ordered our food. Great little place, where if you dine in,you bring your own alcohol if required. We were taking away, so for us not relevant, but good to know if we are ever in the area again. All I can say is that the quality and taste of the four main dishes we had was exceptional, and amongst the best Indian food we have tasted around the country. Great job guys,we will be back one day and hope you are still around. 👌

Staff were smart, welcoming and friendly

Brilliant meal here yesterday. Up there for the best curry I’ve ever had! Everything was cooked to perfection & loads of flavour. Even the pickle tray for the popadoms was delicious. All the staff were also pleasant.

Lovely meal and value. The lamb shank bhuna was so flovourful and the Kashmir massala nice too. Definitely one to come back for.

We visited the restaurant when staying nearby, booked in at 8pm and was seated promptly. The restaurant is small but busy, incredibly clean. The food is absolutely superb and the service and staff are great. You probably will need to book as it’s a busy place, and rightly so, when you provide good food and good service in a clean restaurant that the owners and staff clearly take pride in its a breath of fresh air really. Would recommended to anyone in the area wanting a quality dining experience

We ate here 7th April for my son's birthday whilst on holiday locally. This was our first visit but we'll definitely return nexr time we are in the area. We booked a table that day for 6.30pm and we're glad we had booked as it was really busy when we arrived. We were served by Rash, who was very friendly and helpful. The food came in good time and was delicious, we found the prices to be very reasonable too.

Had a lovely meal here, service and food excellent, definitely book as it was full when we ate there early evening. Great to see an independent restaurant full up and can see why with the quality of food and service.Will definitely be returning next year on our annual Filey holiday.

We came here last night 08/03 after searching TripAdvisor while staying at primrose valley. And my goodness are we glad we came! Onion bhaji and chicken Tikka starter, lamb shank bhuna and butter chicken. That is by far the best bhuna I've ever had! What I loved the most about every dish we had was the chefs emphasis on flavour over heat. And again that lamb shank was melt in the mouth delicious! And of course not forgetting the service from moment of booking a table( which I recommend doing) to arriving the service was impeccable! Nothing was too much trouble. We will certainly be back next time we visit Filey. A must visit for sure.

Just finished our takeaway.. highly recommend.. taste and texture of sauces and chicken was really delicious. Also some of best onion bhaji I have ever had.. spot on caramelised onion and spicy and crispy without being dry. Will be ordering from here again next time we are in Filey. PS we used the online order service... very easy to navigate with information on dish contents.

Staff were great and super friendly

Enjoyed a pretty standard curry here while staying in town. The Monsoon special dish was my favourite. We also ordered chicken tikka massala and butter chicken. Interior could perhaps do with some softening up which might also make it a little less noisy. Friendly service from waiter Yasin and boss Masum. Thanks, guys!

We have visited here a number of times with our family during regular holidays to Filey. I would highly recommend a visit to Monsoon. The food is fantastic and the staff and service is great. The Punjabi chips are a family favourite!! We will be back for another meal when we next visit Filey.

Booked the night before for a party of 9, thinking they would not be able to fit us in. Asked for 8pm but they squeezed us in at 830pm. 6 adults 3 kids, and everyone thought the food was fantastic, great service and very friendly staff. The shanka bhuna was a dish we had never seen before, but 10 out of 10. Well done to all at Monsoon. Highly recommended.

The last Indian meal I had was in Mumbai and I have to say that Monsoon in Filey did not disappoint. I chose the Gobi Palak Paneer and it was mouthwateringly delicious. As a non meat eater it was wonderful to find so many dishes that I could eat. I cannot recommend them enough...

Ordered a take away to be delivered to The Bay . Delivery took less than an hour and it was honestly one of if not the best take away Indian we've ever had...and we eat a lot of Indian food! The lamb shank bhuna was stunning !

Absolutely outstanding food, some of the best Indian meals we have ever had, and the people are so lovely, a really warm welcome and impeccable service. The lighting is quite bright and flat which affects the atmosphere for me, but I'm very sensitive to bright light and I think most people wouldn't notice.

A lovely dinner to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The sweet chilli pickle in the pickle tray was a new one on us. I certainly prefer it to the more traditional lime pickle.

We usually have our Christmas dinner at home, but we decided this year we would eat out... So booked our table at Monsoon... I'm so so glad we did..... Absolutely first class! The Food, The Staff, The Service, The Atmosphere was second to none. If you are in the area l would highly recommend you pay these guys a visit, you won't be disappointed. Nothing too much trouble for them. I would say for me, Best Indian Cuisine on the east coast..... ✴️✴️✴️✴️✴️

This is one of my favourite types of cuisine, so whilst visiting relatives in Filey we decided to try it out. We were not disappointed, we like to try each others food, I tried a little of 3 starters and three mains and they were all excellent. Will definitely be coming back to the Monsoon next time were in Filey

Would have been five stars but they don't sell alcohol any more, although you can bring your own. We didn't know til we arrived though. Very friendly staff. Yasin was very attentive and helpful. Onion bhajis were the best I've ever had. Lamb biryani was excellent too.

Recommend booking as it’s a small restaurant that is busy. I can see why as the food was everything and delicious. We had a mixture of dishes and none of them disappointing, all hot, tasty, and everything seemed fresh. Different to have sliced chicken instead of chunks but it was moist and full of flavour. You take your own alcohol as they don’t serve this, but this doesn’t bother me not drinking, they sell non alcoholic drinks. Highly recommend this restaurant and hoping to return before we leave

High quality and attentive service. The curries we had ( handi chicken and garlic chilli chicken- extra chillies), were well above average. If you in Filey- this is the place to go to! Prices reasonable. BYO booze.

Been here a couple of times in the past and found it very good with lovely food, our recent visit was a miserable experience, we had gone in early for a evening meal, we ordered the usual with poppadums to start, they came soggy and like rubber, evidently these weren’t fresh by any means so complained about them, so it wasn’t a good start needless to sat the atmosphere was awful after that and we were stared at by all the staff throughout the meal, definitely won’t be having a return visit will go elsewhere in future.

Called this evening for dinner. Staff were very helpful and polite . We called in around a year ago as well. The food I'm pleased to say was absolutely delicious. Well cooked and good portions. The Naan bread was to die for. Thanks for a great meal again.Would recommend if you are in the area. Make sure you book well ahead.
