Tikka Tikka in Scarborough

Their food is so good, but awful communication. I waited 2 hours for delivery and tried to call endlessly with no answer. Ended up trying to get my bank to cancel the payment, because I never received anything. Are they even open when they say they are??

We have been coming here for a long time and it's been excellent service but this evening we call to have a meal for four to be told that they were closed and not serving food. The thing was I book the day before and told they would have a table for us. Why did they book a table for us when they knew they would be closed. It was new years eve and most place's would be book up. Lucky we managed to get a table up the road at india restaurant. I am not happy with the service and would not consider going in back in the future.

This place has seriously gone down hill. One minute it’s closed, then it’s open! Then you phone in an order, drive from ebberston to pick it up and they say “no kitchen staff, food not cooked” well why didn’t you ring back!! Last time we ordered and got home there was no rice! I really wouldn’t bother these days, which is a shame as it used to be good 😞

Edited came again Fri 27 dec. Waiter was working on his own, but did a great job being very friendly and making sure we were happy. He should get a bonus. The food was lovely will def come again thank you...The food was lovely. Flavoursome sauce, meat very tender, homemade naan rather than the packet stuff. Liked that we were left a time between starter and main rather than being rushed, and the price was very good. We choose the fixed price for two and had 2 beers 1 wine bill came just under £40

Usually go to restaurant, but decided on a takeaway, excellent, all lovely

The food was amazing. But the delivery person was better. I took the delivery bag then went really dizzy & passed out in the hallway the lovely man ran back to me then helped me up off the floor checked I was ok & didn’t need anything else then went back to work. Brilliant person thank you.

Tika Tika in Scarborough delivered an incredible meal! I had the lamb bhuna, and while the lamb was more like mutton, it was beautifully tender and flavourful. The spices were rich and well-balanced, making each bite a delight. Paired with fluffy rice and a cheese and garlic naan that was perfectly soft with just the right amount of cheese and garlic, the whole experience was spot on. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere felt warm and authentic. Highly recommend Tika Tika for anyone looking for a great Indian meal in Scarborough!

Don't bother, we walked out and so did many others. Didn't even have any beer 🤔🤦🏻

Order was late so some food was cold and pickle trays were missing. When contacted they said they’d run out of pickles so would send the driver with a refund for them but this never arrived. Disappointing service.

Excellent meal excellent service

My order was expected to be delivered between 19:55 and 20:15. I have tried to contact the restaurant directly for nearly an hour to chase the order without success. My order was then attempted to be delivered at 22:35 almost 2 and a half hours later than expected which is not acceptable.

2 hours 5 mins food still not arrived. Called 17 times since 8.15 and been engaged. Second time it’s happened - I called to pay over the phone and the guy was very rude as I selected pay cash by accident and wanted to pay for order. All paid no food

Order never arrived and number busy every time I call. Won’t order here again.

This place has always been our firm favourite but things have changed 1 man was trying to run the restaurant front of house failing badly there were 4 of us in and 3 others !! food was so aweful so it was knocked off the bill we couldnt eat it. So whats gone wrong here there was no draft beers or lagers The team that used to run this place were the very best, ive never had any complaints here until now it also took alot of prompting to even place an order or get a drink, i didnt see a face i knew here so am guessing its changed hands and wont last long as it is, weve done now here along with friends and Family what a shame i would like to know where the team has gone so i can follow them !! Spoilt our evening with no believable reason given i dont want free food give it to the homeless !!

Great little curry house lovely food

The food was cold and it looked like it had been eaten only half full I was really upset I did call back and was hoping that the guy would of refund led me as it was that bad and in edible but I was told if i ordered next time it would be hot and full there was hardly any chicken I founded 4 pieces it was shocking honestly should of been refunded not asked to order again

Food was over 1.5 hours late to be delivered, I called several times to politely ask for an update but no answer every time. I ended up driving to the restaurant myself (as payment had been taken out) but food was delivered after 20 minutes of driving, and when the food was finally delivered, it was cold and had to be put in the oven. We therefore didn't eat any of the food. The bhaji's were also incredibly powdery and dry when we tried them. Will never order again.

0 stars this is the first time I’ve ordered after waiting 2 hours and trying to call several times, I cancelled the order terrible won’t use again.

It has not arrived! We have been waiting over 2 and half hours and no food has come. We have rang the restaurant constantly and they won’t answer the phone!

Another Fab meal at Tikka tikka in Scarborough 16/09/24. Always full after eating here portions are big can be to big but brilliant. Staff are very polite.

Absolutly appalling service. Ordered via Just Eat for 18:30 and order never turned up, looked on the app and it said 19:30 instead. It got to that time and still nothing so i tried to call the restaurant, 5 calls never picked up and not even running to voicemail. I have had meals from here in the past but i have to say they have lost a customer.

Never got delivered. Calls declined from restaurant, and radio silence on their end. Appalling service would NOT recommend.

Just received an order tonight, the food had leaked all over the bag so I was given a slight discount, once opened I discovered most of my curry was in the bag, the order took about 1 hour 30 to come, the food was freezing cold and we had items missing. This was by far the worst food I have ever had put down before me, I would avoid this place like the plague. I have only given 1 star to allow me to post otherwise it would have been a minus

All the food was tasty and piping hot. The onion bhajis were really nice. Delivered on time. Also got a free pickle tray which was very nice. Will order again, when we're next visiting in October.

Amazing, tasty food, presented really well by smiling attentive waiting staff. I would recommend paneer or chicken korma, chicken tikka massala, rices all gorgeous, nans reasonable size for 2. Will be back for sure.

Booked a table for 4 people to get there and it was shut

Honestly one of the best Indian meals we have ever eaten. Delicious and the set menu for 4 was such brilliant value, we ended up taking a doggy bag home and eating the leftovers for lunch the next day. Service was a bit slow - They said they were sbort staffed and it was very busy - But we weren't in a hurry so didn't mind, especially as the food was SO delicious. Happy to recommend and we will be back when next in Scarborough.

Booked a table by the website, left all my details including my mobile number. Travelled up from Birmingham today to Scarborough looking forward to a curry to find the restaurant closed? No phone call from them, not good at all.

Total shower of sh1t. Booked and walked half an hour in the rain to get here. No courtesy call nothing. Chef not well my a-se. Don't come here..

Food ordered from restaurant to come half a mile to the sands. 45 minutes from kitchen to door. Restaurant told me 17.50pm the driver is on his way. That’s 45 minutes to drive half a mile with my food say sweating in a car. Order refused and returned. Refund refused. £38 out of pocket

Fantastic food should be 5**** honestly everything the chicken was tender and rice was fluffy i couldn’t recommend this place more I will be ordering again complements to the chef 🧑‍🍳

Tried to place a telephone order for collection on Monday at 5:00PM. Rang 7 times between 5:00PM - 5:45PM and the phone just rang out. No answer phone message or any indication that anyone was even there. Very sad as we were going to spend £80 on takeaway with them and had been looking forward to it all day. If they can't even answer the phone to take orders, it makes you wonder how they're still in business.

Wow… restaurant told me driver has food and on his way 17.50pm. 18.25 food arrived. £18 prawn dish and £38 meal sat in a car for 40+ minutes. Refused food and requested refund.

Known full well Website was down and still taking payments for food. Drove 10 miles to find my order was cancelled but payment had still been taken from my account. So walked away with no food and £30 pending out of my account. No apology from Tikka Tikka just a snotty attitude.

A UK type of Indian food. Changed the flavour of curry from what it should be. Nann is OK, chicken fried rice is awful. Average service. Nothing worth to be recommended for this really.

Delicious food. As good a Vegetable Dhansak as I have ever had anywhere (and I have had many lol). Pleasant staff and we will be eating here again when we next visit Scarborough. The draught Cobra is also very good.

One of the best Indians I've had in a long while

We ate out as a family of four - three adults and a seven year old. From our arrival, the gentleman looking after us was so lovely. All the food was fabulous and quite frankly it was the nicest food we have had in a long time - absolutely spot on! Lovely, comfortable, clean restaurant with lovely staff and stunning food- we'll be back next time we're in Scarborough and have already recommended it!

Really disappointed with the takeaway. Chicken tikka was very tough , we couldn't eat it it was that bad . Samosas were cold in the middle too. I reviewed TripAdvisor beforehand too. Mark

Down from Scotland and stumbled upon this restaurant and couldn’t have been more happy! The food was gorgeous and packed full of flavour, the staff were so friendly & welcoming.. highly recommend to all

Very tasty food, good service with friendly staff. We really enjoyed our meal, nothing to complain about. Poppadoms, 2 mains, 2 sides and 3 drinks for less than 50 quid. We came away full and content.

A midweek visit, a warm welcoming meet and greet. A lovely well presented meal for all 4 of us. Washed down with a couple of pints of Cobra. Complimentary brandy and Bailey's, a nice touch.

Booked a table online for Saturday evening..we should not have bothered. Arrived and were shown to a table without asking about any booking! This is a bog standard Indian Restaurant. No bottled cobra tiger or peroni beers.. only Authentic Indian Budweiser! on a Saturday night!! Obviously missed the cash and carry. Food was fine service pleasant.. lacking atmosphere.Wont live long in the memory.

Visited Scarborough for a second time for a two night break. Found Tika Tika Indian Restaurant on our first visit to Scarborough 2 years ago. We went both nights we stayed then and we have been both nights just now. Fantastic food, lovley staff. Cannot fault our experience. Great value for money. We had the set meal for two. We would definitely recommend and will be visiting again for sure.
