The Cowshed in Scarborough

Second time we've been here, first was a very busy night a year or two ago where the staff were good enough to squeeze us in for which we were most grateful. We went again last night, this time at a quieter time where we could properly enjoy the experience. We were glad to see the standard of food was still high, I had the Nashville burger with a blue cheese dressing, a bit messy but very tasty, washed down with a couple of locsl beers, always nice to see restaurants selling local brews. My boys had more of a plain burger, nothing left on the plates so a thumbs up from them. What made it really special was the excellent service, friendly and efficient. Well done guys, keep it up. Will definitely be back.

THE best burgers we have ever eaten! Came with the family after visiting some friends in Cayton and were told The Cowshed was the place to go and boy was it! The staff informed us the restaurant was recently refurbed and you can tell, very clean place with great booth seating. Very busy for a week night so would highly advise booking (we did not but the staff made it work) Honesty, blown away guys.

We rarely eat burgers but just had a fancy for one and this seemed like the best place to go. It is fairly small inside, so booking is recommended. The interior has a no frills, industrial look. We both went for the PBJ burgers. They were very tasty and the peanut butter, satay sauce and chilli jam, were quite subtle. We pimped up the meal with ball park fries. The drinks were a disappointment. They don't have a bar as such, therefore drinks are either in small bottles or tin cans. £4.50 for a 330ml beer,which resembled a bad urine sample is very steep. I would recommend getting a bottle of wine for £15, which represents much better value. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

This restaurant delivers exactly what you'd expect, quality burgers at a good price with speedy service.

We’ve been here a lot in the past 4 years and it did dip slightly last year, but now it’s back to its true form. We had a lovely walk round the front then decided to walk in to see if they could do us a takeaway (we had our 6 month old with us). That night the person behind the counter was rushed off his feet as his colleague had called in sick but he didn’t say no, took our order and within about 15 mins we had our food. We had two Nashville chicken burgers, one with PBJ chips and another with sweet potato fries. They were delicious! Well done to all :)

AMAZING.. s good I am writing this review while I am still here about to pay. Great service, really friendly good fast service service. The best part was the food 10/10 deep fried gherkin genius.

Pretty decent eating establishment. Very hipster and on the pricey side but worth it if you enjoy a good burger. Will definitely be returning.

Great restaurant. The only place that I will eat a homemade burger in Scarborough. Service was first class and the meals were very good. We all enjoyed our meals and will be back withing the next few weeks as we regularly visit this restaurant.

Recently visited Cowshed and had a delicious meal. The variety of burgers, and sides is very good, excellent quality and healthy portions. The atmosphere of the restaurant is informal and the staff polite and professional. Give it a try, hope you like it too.

There’s a great menu, good value for money as the portion sizes were huge. Service was fast and staff were very helpful. Our burgers were amazing, as were the loaded fries.

After issues with my previous booking this was soon rectified by the owners. Dined with a close friend. The menu is simple and focussed on the classic burger with some amazing twists! I settled for the barbecue option and my friend chose the special with extra pulled beef and hot, spicy dressings. Both delicious and cooked to perfection. My only quibble is that the fries were underdone for my liking, as I prefer a more crispier chip! I would have liked to have seen an alcohol free option on the drinks menu other than the usual soft drinks. A very busy and bustling place with an American touch, it’s simplicity being a winning formula.

Great burger place, we weren’t sure where to eat on a late Sunday night and came across Cowshed online. From the minute we called to make a booking, to arriving and leaving, the service and welcome was great! Lots of choice on the menu and all the beef burgers can be made veggie instead. Only a couple of chicken options, but that was good for us. Would definitely visit again if we find ourselves back in Scarborough!

It was a party of 10 of us that went to today. The place was very clean and the staff were very welcoming, especially David really good customer service. The burgers were really good and the peanut butter milkshake was amazing. We will definitely come back again soon
