Good Staff Environment is very Good

Our bill was £31.05 for 2 fish and chips one with peas, and 2 cans of Coke. Chips were not cooked white as anything. Fish was more batter than fish. We didn’t complain as was no where else too eat on a Sunday night

The finest fish and chips in Scarborough. We've travelled all the way from Suffolk just to enjoy them . Twice this week ! Freshly cooked and well priced. And the lovely guy who served us has by far the best moustache we've ever seen 👏

Went here yesterday with my son and got our order, service was a 4 star because I think the guy was training and accidently forgot a few things but the rest of the service was great. Food was brilliant.

food was perfect although they forgot my chips with my fish but in 10mins a member of staff from the chip shop was at my door with my chips and couldn't of been any freindly as customer service goes well it's on point as they turned a negative into a positive experience so well done. I'll defo be coming back as food quality and the price is spot on. defo recommend thank you

Ordered cod got haddock and chips we’re anemic won’t be buying from there again

Just short of two hours wait order taken to incorrect address call to the restaurant twice items paid for and missed off order and gave incorrect side of gravy in stead of ordered curry

Normally order from here and it’s great however this time the food arrived freezing cold , the chips were as if they’d been sat there ages (really hard) gravy and peas both stone cold , overall this experience has put me of unfortunately:( such a shame .

I've eaten fish and chips in seven cities in the UK, and it's the best I've ever had. The fish was fresh, the fish meat was thick, and best of all, it was well-fried with a not-too-thick batter. I ate it three times while staying in Scarborough. It was delicious even when taken out, and it's located next to the store. You can eat it at the cafe. The size of the fish was the largest ever, but I couldn't eat it all, so I kindly told me that it would be a good idea to order the takeaway special next time, so I did that. The young lady who served me was also really kind. I don't know if I'll come again, but if I do, I'll definitely stop by again. I moved to Bath and tried the famous fish and chips here, but unfortunately it wasn't delicious.

Travelled up from Leicestershire yesterday and stumbled across this place and I have to say, the food was amazing and the staff we also extremely nice. Price was dead fair so overall an absolute no brainer for 5 stars. Thanks

Disappointed this time round. £26 for two cold overcooked thin pieces of dry fish and cold chips. Cannot recommend this place as a delivery option. Shame as a year ago had some really nice fish and chips from here. So not sure if change of owner or just poor quality this time but poor enough to not bother again at this price.

The reviews are so misleading - we had an awful experience. Really poor. Waited 25 mins to be asked what we wanted (take-out) yes that's right 25 minutes. In the following few minutes I was asked what I wanted 3 times!!! We were in there 30minutes!!!! I asked for scraps 3 times and guess what when we got home there was none! Chips ok Peas ok Haddock and Cod really poor. Skinny and dry and smelt like the fat needed changing! This was on Monday 30th @ 530.

ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING !! To be told it was ready for collection yet had to wait another half an hour to recieve my order ! all the food was cold, fish cake wasn't cooked all the way through ! avoid at all cost !!

He said he was gonna deliver to reception i told him no coz ive always had it delivered to my door as im disabled eventually he delivered to my door after explaining he has instuctions on how to get to me...he arrived with my order...

Went for a cheap lunch time meal very quick service and didn't have to wait long very generous with portions and didn't cost as much as most chippy would 10/10 will be going there again

forgot my cheesy chips, they can't re deliver as they don't have their own drivers. chips are absolutely rock solid, can't eat the ones we did actually get delivered. used to be amazing this chippy. gone down hill massively. fish and chip shop that can't even do chips? won't order again 0/10.

I’d just arrived on holiday after a long journey. Unfortunately I made a mistake with the address on the order. When I tried to ring them to explain the phone number on their website didn’t work. So I cancelled the order via the App and ended up being charged twice. I am very unhappy that I was unable to contact the restaurant to explain my mistake and that I was charged £60 for two large cod, regular chips, a bottle of sprite and 2 satchets of tartar sauce.

Thank You for THE BEST fish, chips and mushy peas that I ever had, and I don't care for deep fried foods (I prefer my fish poached, grilled and pan fried with mash or rice and salad). But coming to England I had to try Real fish and chips. To be fair, I tried 2 other places so that I could have a comparison, one was a fancy restaurant (way more expensive) and they just didn't meet the food I had at Rennards. And the hard working folks there are ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL PEOPLE! If I could, I would fly from Canada, every time I craved their food. P.S We ate there twice and let me tell you...BIG PORTIONS, I couldn't finish mine, but the fish was still AMAZING cold. THANK YOU Rennards, Be safe, be well and be Blessed. Had a take out of cod chips curry and peas after reading reviews online! The fish peas and curry ok but the chips were rubbish hard and tough so ruined it for us

Un poco tarde dejando mi reseña. Visité Rennards mientras asistía al partido de Cricket del Condado North Marine Rd a finales de agosto. Tiene un estatus casi legendario entre los fanáticos del cricket, no decepcionó. A pesar de estar ocupado me sirvieron en el restaurante con una agradable bienvenida de Yorkshire de una señora muy eficiente. El bacalao con patatas fritas y el lado de los guisantes eran excepcionales. No te dejes engañar porque F&C es una comida fácil de hacer, no lo son. ¡Los Rennerd saben cómo! Nos vemos de nuevo en abril (si los partidos lo permiten) Gracias Graham

The best fish and chips I have ever had! Came here while on holiday with the family. We were greeted by the friendly staff as we walked in. Fish was cooked to order with the crispiest, most delicious batter. The fish inside was soft and perfectly cooked. The chips were pale in colour and perfectly cooked, very crispy on the outside, and had chip spiceon them which was a first for me but definitely recommended, had to buy some to take home as the whole family loved it so much.

I ordered a large cod and chips, the portion of chips was tiny I was still hungry after. I also asked for scraps and it came with none. Hopefully they aren’t as stingy next time! It did taste good besides that.

Llegó al restaurante a las 6. 45 pm y nuestro pedido fue tomado dentro de 5 minutos. Sin embargo alrededor de las 7 pm la camarera cerró el restaurante y nos encerró (¿no está seguro de que esto de acuerdo con Salud y Seguridad?) murmurando que tenían poco personal. Quince minutos después no había señales de nuestra comida, aunque la freidora estaba “simplemente poniéndola”. Después de pedir que se abriera la puerta, dimos la vuelta a la esquina y nos dimos cuenta de que se daba prioridad a estos clientes y era poco probable que hubiéramos conseguido comida hasta que todos estos clientes hubieran sido atendidos. No volverá de nuevo, ha arruinado la reputación de un negocio respetado de Scarborough.

Whilst on holiday in Scarborough we wanted to try "Rennards Fish and Chips", we booked for delivery, our order came bang on time, piping hot, well packaged and we have to say our meal was " Superb" no other words would describe the large succulent haddock, golden battered to perfection, "chips a plenty" done to perfection and of course "stick to yr ribs" mushy peas. What was there not to like, 🤷‍♂️ Rennards is now our "Go To" fish and chip meal when next in the area, Simply Awesome, Thanks to all at Rennards, Keep up the Great Work.

Been coming to this chip shop on our holidays for a few years now, this time the chips were awful over cooked and I'd say been in for a while if it wasn't for our family to be back at resort I would have taken them back. I was really disappointed I won't be returning to this chip shop again straight in the bin. Really wish I had taken a picture the chips were brown and very poor quality. Don't know if it's under new owners or not but somebody needs to learn how to cook proper chips.

Chips were old hard and greasy, mushy peas were slop, fish was dry and bread bun was stale. Staff couldn’t care less. No wonder it has a 0 hygiene rating!

It smelled all over the street, so we decided what to have for dinner, we chose the special menu, cod and chips and gravy, once a curry, and beans, the fish was super crispy, and the chips were heaps, it was a great portion for great money .

My chips was burnt and not edible ! Was a waste of money!

Great chippy, easily the best in Scarborough.

We were not waiting long for our generous serving of haddock & chips. We ordered the large size haddock & it was huge. Very well cooked with crispy batter & mounds of chips.

Absolutely delicious! You get a warm welcome when you come in, the fish is so good and cooked to perfection. I come here every time i have friends or family visiting and they all loved Rennards fish and chips! Highly recommended

Unfortunately not a good experience this time round, the chips were definitely left over from previous day and reheated. Had to wait for the member of staff to finish her cigarette out front before coming in to serve. A shame as we've had good fish and chips here before.

Haddock chips curry sauce tonight and a tub of chip spice which I've never seen before. Very tasty, good value and the staff were great. Highly recommended. The fishcake and potato scallops were poor by comparison and to be avoided.
