Needed some fish and chips at short notice, chose this place based on reviews and the fact that they were open on a Monday evening. Decent place, decent food. Returned in 2023 and still as good. The homemade fishcakes are excellent.

Telephone order: professional took order very patience with the amount we ordered asked for time of delivery. Turned up before time 😃 second time we've ordered all spot on, nothing missing and still hot on arrival. Nothing were to much hassle plus side it comes in boxes better than wrapped in paper 😁

This establishment has become our go to place for excellent fish and chips, as well as service and price. They work hard to get your order spot on and in your hands very quickly. One of the best in Scarborough. Their anti covid guidance whilst on the premises is well sign posted and easy to understand. Well done.

I don't normally do fish and chips as they don't agree with me but a couple of weeks ago decided to try these as we were hungry. They were gorgeous. Ate every bit. Nice and crispy. Went again tonight and just as good and no after taste. Thank you to the staff

Lockdown has been harsh for people who eat regularly do to have an option of a delivered take away was tantalising.Pay by cash at doorstep in an envelope or by card if earlier in week for delivery. The reviews were good - yet despite my repeating my address more than once and the postcode the delivery was 20 minutes late..... yep! Hot the address wrong on the receipt - right postcode wrong street!!!! It’s great you’re doing your best to serve the community at difficult times but I won’t be returning even after lockdown.Not sure the fish was fresh, strong tasting- Luke warm dinner which we had to eat quickly but laid like a congealed brick in the stomach for 24 hours.

We've eaten fish and chips from here many times and they are always spot on. Huge fish, lovely crunchy batter, brilliant chips which are good right down to the last cold scrap. Friendly staff and free chips on a friday. Spot on

Superb food cooked to perfection polite friendly staff who will have a natter with you this is excellent food at excellent prices I can see why it got chippy of the year I can highly recommend Deans five star no doubt about it

Greeted by a very polite young Scottish girl who was friendly, funny and quick to serve. The Fish, chips and mushy Peas I ordered were superb, great value for money and presented in a nice cardboard box. I’ll be returning to Deans when I next visit Scarborough.

Chippies can be a mixed bag but this is very good. I visited last year when it didn’t seem to have been opened long so thought I’d revisit given it’s been winning awards. I wasn’t disappointed. The fish is freshly cooked to order and the peas were properly mushy rather than masquerading as mushy peas which is what is usually served these days.

Chippy of the year.. quite right.! We wanted a chippy away from the front used by locals and we found one.Best fish and chips we have had in years. Huge box of food, beautifully cooked with friendly service and a sensible price.Wish we lived nearer.

They always make a special effort to greet customers as they walk in, chips cooked to perfection, always add scraps on or make you some if needed. True workers who deserve to do well. It would be nice to see wooden forks offered as well as plastic ones for purchase perhaps the current climate? Keep up the great work!

You walk in and you are greeted with hello, how are you, and what can I get for you. No mobile phones going off every two minutes behind the counter. This is old fashioned customer service at its best. There is somewhere to sit and chat with the other customers or if you are (not often) in on your own chat with the staff. The food is fantastic - everything is cooked to order. The fish and chips are excellent, no sticky uncooked batter in the middle all crispy and lovely. The fish patties that are home made are a delight. This chippy was voted best in Scarborough and to be frank you can see why. Can recommend
