My husband & I had jacket potatoes which were oven baked & very good. He had hot chilli & I had tuna mayo. Both were great. Our daughter had tuna melt baguette & chips which she really enjoyed. Food was hot, tasty & very reasonably priced. Would recommend & return.

We visited for lunch on a recent visit to Scarborough. The restaurant was very busy and the menu looked good so we went in. Very cosy, traditional cafe. Extensive menu, great food and excellent value for money. We had cottage pie (with extra gravy!) and scampi, chips and salad. The service was friendly and efficient and our meals were very tasty and hot. Generous portions. Very highly recommended. Well worth going out of your way for.

I have been to this cafe for 3 years every summer...Their food is simple, classic, traditional, good price, and really a typical English cafe close to seaside . I went this time but I arrived about 5 pm or so and they had closed .. :( .

We always call in here on the first day of our holidays after our drive from home to have their delicious full English breakfast, it's such good value and the portion is enough to set you up for the day, there's always plenty of customers but you can usually get a table. Give it a try I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Happened to be walking by and noticed a board outside advertising a special breakfast for £4.40 as long as you buy a drink. You get a right good plate full! Fantastic value for money. I am not a huge beans fan and found this was a cheaper make, so sauce not as good, but everything else was spot on. Would definitely use again for a breakfast that really fulls you up for the day.

Our first trip to Scarborough since the Pandemic, we stopped overnight and we visited our favourite cafe for breakfast, a nice warm welcome from the owner and his daughter and we managed to get a table as it was quite full even though we were early. We forgot how big the platter was and if you cross items such as tomatoes and mushrooms off as I do, they put extra beans and sausage on. So needless to say we had nothing else to eat all day, really nice to visit the Conservatory Cafe again.

This cafe is so friendly and helpful. The food is excellent home cooking, served in generous portions. I have made this my regular cafe after an earlier visit. I have food allergies and they are so good at checking ingredients for me. They will make things that are not on the menu - adding different toppings etc. Nothing is too much trouble when I ask, even when they are busy. If you like cake there is a huge selection. You might want to share a slice or take half home, they will provide a bag, the portions are big. The home made scones are delicious and gluten-free is available upon asking.

My wife and I recently visited The Conservatory on a day trip to Scarborough. We arrived in the town early and were looking for somewhere that we could get a quick bite to eat for breakfast and we couldn't have picked anywhere better!I had Fried Eggs on Toast with a pot of tea and my wife had Beans on Toast with a Black Coffee. We couldn't believe the price. Just £7 for the lot. You'd be forgiven for thinking that the food wouldn't be up to much but it was absolutely perfect. Freshly cooked, not swimming in grease and a very generously sized portion. Service was friendly and efficient. It got our day off to a perfect start! For those that want something more substantial, there is a fabulous full english breakfast on the menu for just £3.25. Unbelievable value for money! I can see why they have so many regular local customers! We walked to Peasholm Park afterwards and passed several other places offering similar food, for higher prices and not as nice looking! Please be aware that they are a cash only establishment, no card payments.

Stumbled on this place on a day trip to Scarborough. Having had fish and chips the day before we wanted something else for lunch and this place fit the bill with its range of toasties, jacket potatoes, baguettes, quiche and cake. Jacket spuds with toppings and salad were spot on. Quiche (slice the size of my head) with salad and chips defeated the mother in law. I visited the Conservatory on Saturday with a friend and as usual the service was impeccable. We were welcomed at the door by staff (wearing masks and directing us to the hand sanitiser) and shown to our table. The menu is good, wholesome food. Everything I have tried has been delicious, and it is all very reasonably priced. The portions sizes are what I would call 'Yorkshire portions' - you will never leave this cafe hungry. My friend has a gluten intolerance but she was able to take her pick from most of the choices on the menu, and the staff were very happy to accommodate any needs she or I had. The staff are lovely here, it's a family run business and everybody is so nice and friendly. The young lady who served us was polite and had a smile on her face. The toilets are clean and smelt very fresh. I visited this cafe on Bank Holiday Saturday, the town was crazy busy. There was a small queue for this cafe. I was asked if I would like to sit upstairs or downstairs and asked to use the hand sanitizer at the door. We ordered at the counter and the food came extremely quick even though they were very busy. My friend ordered a bowl of ice-cream which was massive and she thoroughly enjoyed it. I have food allergies and they couldn't have been more helpful. I ordered a hot meal, Gluten-free cottage pie. I was offered several sides to have with it including a gluten free gravy. They don't have milk alternatives as yet but they will adapt any meal on the menu to suit. The food was hot and delicious. I was served by a lady at the counter and a helpful young man served us at the table. I had asked for water which was missing and upon asking it was fetched directly. The cafe was certainly covid safe, everyone was wearing masks. There was public use hand sanitizer on each floor, and at the door. The tables were spaced nicely and we both felt safe. I will certainly be going back and soon. The food was tasty and we'll presented and for the price was amazing. Also, no gimmicks the food is served on real plates, not wood boards.

As somebody who gets around food places on the circuit leading out of Middlesbrough (Think X93 and X11, when it comes to Scarborough), I’ve picked up a bit of an acquired taste, from places good and bad. You’re getting what you pay for with Conservatory, but they make no qualms of it, so a low rating would be unreasonable. That being said, there seemed to be a minor staff motivation problem on my visit. It’s more of a ‘they’ll do the minimum’, rather than a ‘problematic temper’. Maybe I just visited on a hectic day (bank holiday) and the custom quantity was dragging the results down. The custard on the chocolate cake was good though, the cheesy chips held on for a while (pro tip: cheap Cheesy Chips are garbage when they cool down, eat them quick!), the chocolate cake was acceptable, as was the inside of the Scampi.Conservatory is the second place I’ve tried in Scarborough (after a visit to S’Boro’s Brewers Fayre last year between lockdowns), and so far, food results are leaving me with not enough reason to return. Reasonable people, mind you, Scarborough seems to have good people going for it.Would I say this place is worth a visit? Absolutely, if you’re not a picky person. If your taste has been refined though, heed the warning of the prices. And hey, thanks for the hospitality(ish) on my visit. Good Luck with the business.4 stars feels too high, but 3 stars feels too low. It’s nearer to 4 though, so take your 4, and keep up the (reasonably) good work.

Called here for lunch on the 1st day of our break in Scarborough on spec, the cafe is on the shopping street that slopes down to the front. It's a bit dated in decor & not suitable for people with mobility issues really as 1 of the rooms & the toilets are down a spiral staircase. We sat upstairs & the Corona virus precautions were adhered to well, they took your details & cleaned after every guest etc. The staff were very pleasant & efficient & our orders came promptly & piping hot. My husband and son ordered the hot pork baguette, 1 with chips (frozen but nicely golden brown & plentiful) & 1 with salad, brilliant value for £3.99 !! The baguette was full of tender pork from a joint of meat, there was so much food, they really enjoyed it. I had a cheese toastie with salad which was nice, but I wished I'd ordered the hot pork baguette too ! Wished we'd returned here another lunchtime, will definitely return for lunch next time we're in Scarborough.

Had breakfast, we had to sit downstairs - pleasant room but strange smell, bit like damp. Good menu, cheap prices. However quality of food not the best, and seemed like ingredients had been bulk-cooked and then kept on hot plate - bacon dry and hard, mushrooms grey and soggy. Excellent fried bread, though, and my pot of tea was good. Service was excellent - staff helpful and obliging, quick and efficient. I’d go again, but wouldn’t have the breakfast - had much better quality ones in other cafes. 10/10 to serving staff, 4/10 for breakfast.

No dripping oil on plates like some cafes I've been in.Attention is to detail and very little waiting time either. You can have a special breakfast (at a cracking price) as long as you order a tea or coffee to go with it. Even so it only comes to around £4.40 which I can guarantee, is a steal for the quality and quantity you receive. We ordered a large breakfast, one special breakfast and tea for two.A special breakfast (Two unsmoked back bacon, two small pork sausages, two eggs, beans, tomato, two egg, one fried bread, chips and two bread) were cooked ideally. The food wasn't oily and was plentiful for a busy day and for less than three pounds, it's relatively inexpensive for a holiday destination. The only niggle I had was on our second visit where the chips were slightly overcooked and oily but still within reason.I would highly recommend this venue and will be visiting next time I'm in Scarborough.Thank you for your hard work.

We’re slowly but steadily working our way through Scarborough’s breakfast places. This week was the turn of the Conservatory. From the menu we guessed this would be a cheap and cheerful little place. It was very busy in fact the upstairs was full. After last weeks belly buster I couldn’t face an actual breakfast. Although my choice of fruit scone and chocolate cake certainly wasn’t a healthy choice. My hubby’s breakfast consisted of 3 fried eggs, 4 rashers of thick bacon, 4 thin sausages, chips, mushrooms and toast. The actual brekkie came with beans, tomatoes and fried bread. He substituted the toast for the bread. And said he didn’t want the beans or tomatoes so they gave him chips instead. He had a pot of tea. I had coffee, a fruit scone and a huge slice of cream filled chocolate cake. The bill for all this was exactly £10.It’s cash only and you pay when you order. This was amazing value and apparently a really good brekkie as well.I did take pics of the food but yet again they won’t load ♀️

Called for coffee and cake. Basic welcome.Surroundings need lots of TLC decor very, very tired.Ordered 2 coffees and 2 cakes, ( all ordered and paid at the counter)Coffee very weak and poor quality. Cakes very dry, we took a couple of bites, couple of sips of coffee and decided to just leave, vowing never to return.

Arrived at 8:30 on a cold Saturday morning. We were promptly attended to and nice pot of tea quickly followed. The food was fresh and piping hot. By 9:00 the main floor was full. Prices are fantastic too. We'll remember to arrive earlier next time, especially as it opens at 7:30. Well worth a visit at any time of the day.

Stayed in Scarborough overnight and called in this cafe on Monday morning just after 9am. The upstairs of the cafe was almost full so this was an encouraging start. Hubby ordered special English breakfast and I had scrambled egg. The food was nicely cooked but hubby was not keen on chips with his meal and would have preferred his bread toasted. Next time we return we will ask for no chips and bread toasted and this would be perfect. I am sure the cafe would make these changes as they seemed very accommodating when I asked for my egg at the side of the plate not on the toast. We had a lovely pot of tea with extra water to make more which is always nice. Would definitely recommend this cafe especially as the cost was only £7.45 - excellent value.

We visited Scarborough on the 14th and 15th. After a terrible fiasco with the hotel, the next morning (15th) we left early to have a walk around Scarborough whilst waiting for the boardwalk shops to open. I am so glad we did. We found this little gem of a restaurant.

Recommended to us to have breakfast.. We felt the meal was more to do with quantity than quality, which wasnt for us. It was busy so it suited other diners.

A friendly, comfortable cafe at amazing prices. Good value food and great service. 2 adults and 4 kids had big breakfasts and drinks for under £30. Fussy ones catered for, food was quick and hot. Cakes looked amazing, would go again and recommend for cheap eats.

Now this is not a posh restaurant in fact it’s very ordinary. You have to go to the counter to order and pay. We ordered cold drinks and jacket potatoes. This is when things changed.Could not believe the size of the potato. It was huge. Just had to take a photo. My husband had chilli con carne on his. Said it was the best he had tasted in years. I had ham and cheese, and comes with a little salad. Well, to say it tasted good does not do it justice. Was amazing and pretty good value. And even the toilets are clean. That tells me everything. Can’t wait to go for my lunch again next time we’re in Scarborough. Well done.

I was early for an appointment and looked for a cafe that was still open at 3.30. The Conservatory closes at four, so I went there. I had a good coffee and a large and tasty scone. The menu had a good selection of sandwiches, jacket potato etc and a smaller list of meals such as scampi.

As the title. Had a fantastic lunch here. Loads of meat with zero fat, done to perfection. And great value as well. Handy if you're going to the Market Hall, and in particular The Vaults beneath it.

We went to Scarbourgh for a day while psending a week in gorgeous Yorkshire. We perused this coffee shop for morning coffee and it was very pleasent atomosphere and bright inside. The staff were both pleasent and attentfull and no faults with our purchases. The only thing I could comment on was the toilets were downstairs and with a curved staircase, and no lift that we could see this could be a problem for disabled patrons. Apart from that a very worth while tea shop to visit

Lovely traditional coffee shop with great value food and drinks, not many places you can get a kids meal for £2.50, that included bread and butter, our son loved it. Spiral staircase down to use the toilets may be an issue to some people but fine for us.

You do get what you pay for. The breakfast was ok and nothing more. Both fried eggs were hard, fried bread weighed a ton there was some much fat in it. Good cup of tea though! There are much better places, just have to pay a little more.

My wife uses a walker. We had never been to the Deli before so were unsure how to proceed. The staff completely ignored us. It was as if we were not there, or invisible. Even as we walked out of the Deli, no staff member offered any acknowledgement of us!

Gorgeous place to come to and is always on our list as a ' must go to'when we are in Filey. Beautiful setting and everything here is really delicious. The lemon meringue tart and coffee cake are to die for. It's lovely sitting outside and enjoying the sunshine. Sadly it was raining today and as we have a dog we couldn't go in, there was some seating under a canopy for the ice creams but sadly for us just a bit too chilly to sit out. It is cash only so that is something to always remember when visiting.

Great cakes and bread to eat in or take away. Dogs are allowed inside. We had a good lunch. It was very busy, because the food is very good.

This pub/restaurant is under new ownership but the food and the drinks are still of exceptional quality. We visited at lunchtime (midweek), we had reserved our table in advance (this is advisable) and we were met with a very warm welcome. The menu has changed but still offers a good selection. The quality of the food was very good and the presentation appealing. Always a must when we visit this area. Good luck going forward, this place remains a firm favourite with us
