The best restaurants serving Indian food in Scarborough Yorkshire and The Humber

Ordered a takeaway online. It was ready on time and was absolutely delicious. We like our curries and this certainly ranked up there. Next time we visit Scarborough, we'll be booking to dine in.

Amazing food best we’ve had in years

Went here on a whim and so glad we did! The food was so nice and such generous portions to the point we had to take the rest to go. Staff were very friendly and attentive, would say it’s one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to and will definitely be coming back.

This is one of the best curries we have ever eaten. I had the butter chicken tikka and it was delicious. Starters also amazing and the breads and rice were perfect too. Don't hesitate to visit, you won't be disappointed! Excellent service too. Thank you!

This place has always been our firm favourite but things have changed 1 man was trying to run the restaurant front of house failing badly there were 4 of us in and 3 others !! food was so aweful so it was knocked off the bill we couldnt eat it. So whats gone wrong here there was no draft beers or lagers The team that used to run this place were the very best, ive never had any complaints here until now it also took alot of prompting to even place an order or get a drink, i didnt see a face i knew here so am guessing its changed hands and wont last long as it is, weve done now here along with friends and Family what a shame i would like to know where the team has gone so i can follow them !! Spoilt our evening with no believable reason given i dont want free food give it to the homeless !!

I think some of the recipes have changes. I had chicken tikka masala, one if my favorites, but it was a bit sweet. My friends had several other dishes with sauces and theirs too were on the sweet side. My other friends had various curries and theirs were delicious. All in all, we had ample portions, the meats were tender and juicy and service was lovely from very hospital staff. Will return again.

Ordered a delivered meal whilst on a break in Scarborough and it has to be said, one of our best Indian meals of all time, the Pickle tray super tasty with choice of flavoured or plain poppadoms, garlic chilli chicken main with pilau rice was awesome and their peshwari nan bread was simply the best we have ever had, was mango infused which made such a difference . This place is well worth a try, the delivery driver very friendly and on time, food piping hot, Very impressive. Will deffo order again when next in Scarborough. "Thankyou" to all at Indian Taj

I booked a table online on their website for our wedding anniversary. When we arrived, there was no restaurant just 3 chefs doing takeaway orders!! All the tables and chairs were stacked up! The website showed photos of a newly refurbished restaurant which is non existent!! We will not be using this place ever again!!

I have eaten at this restaurant and had takeaways in the past and it was beautiful however after tonight’s takeaway I won’t be going back. We had chicken tikka masala and pilla rice. I cannot believe how it’s changed it was nothing like it used to be, and tasted nothing like a masala very tomatoey and not much else, the chicken was over cooked,hard and a couple of pieces were grisly, also there are 5 maybe 6 small pieces of chicken the rest is a box full of sauce. The rice was bland. Overall very disappointing to the extent most of it was thrown away. I would no longer recommend which is unfortunate as it did use to be lovely.

A group of 4 of us went on half price night. We all loved our meals. Very tasty with good sized portions. Staff were lovely - thank you to Shah our waiter. We will be back on our next trip to Scarborough.

Had this on the last day of our holiday just me & the wife (take away) the food was very good & hot. If you are looking to order this for take away order it early as it gets very busy as we did look to have this on our 3 night but the time for delivery was 80min ( this was on the app).

Amazing good I ordered pitta tikka and kebab mix the best ever. Highly recommend

AVOID!! Worst Indian we've ever had. Staying on Cayton Bay wish we never bothered. The chicken tikka starter like old balls of salt. The rice overcooked and old stuck to the lid in clumps. The chicken tikka masala a watery salty gravy. No flavour or taste just salty. Had an off piece of chicken too. Naan bread stodgy and undercooked. Even the popadums were stale floppy and black on the edges. Nicest part was the mint sauce. Can't comment on chips and they missed them out the bag!
