I had looked at reviews before buying food from this place, and I was wrong when I insisted to buy from this place, because we did bin it. From the car when I drove passed, I think the same person who owned Dean Hut is working here and his food was horrible and a thrill of food poisoning. When home :( :( The kebab was dry and it seemed it was prepared sometimes back?? last week? old and nothing fresh, the fried chicken was over cooked the two pieces looked dark brown. My son smelled cigarettes on the person who served him, and that it self is against the hygiene standard if they smoking inside the kitchen?. Old tasteless kebab and dry fried chicken, cold chips and soggy and stodgy Nan all the bad things about food was combined in Vic-Golden Tandoori, The food was really bad, rank if I may say, However nothing what expected, I wouldn't give it to anyone, but I did give it to the bin, steer clear of this place. It goes to show how reviews can be misleading, I don't doubt some are genuine but I think most of them are not real and some a fluke. I don't recommend !!

Without a doubt. The best kebabs in Scarborough. With a huge naan bread. Never had a bad meal from here. Great service very friendly staff. *edit. Went here this weekend. Not been for a long while. Used to be the best Kebabs in town. Unfortunately I won't be returning. It was not good. Staff very friendly as usual. But the food just wasn't what it used to be. Size has gotten alot smaller aswell.

Probably one of the worst Indian takeaways I’ve had. Started with an onion bhaji which was hard and heavy and lacked flavour. Ordered a curry from the favourites menu. It was terrible. Very poor quality chicken and whole dish tasted burnt. Couldn’t eat it at all. Definitely won’t be going back again.

Absolutely vile food. Avoid at all costs. Not the flavours of Indian food. The onion baji was burnt, 90 % gram flour 10% onion , pale and tasted basically like bland sawdust. The main was disgusting . A chicken tikka dopiaza that was so fragrant with pickle and no real flavour and the meat was like gone on turkey ( 6 thin slices ) and thick sauce. Seriously this is not a truly authentic Indian and there a far far better places in Scarborough to eat. We thought we’d give it a try and can hand on heart say don’t do it cause it’s vile .

Ordered over 2 hours ago still not recieved delivery and there phone suddenly seems to have stopped working

Used to come here a lot 15 or so years ago, was a really good place with the best tandoori chicken kebabs and a really pleasant lady on the counter. Tried last night during a visit back home, worse kebab I’ve ever had anywhere. Totally bland, no flavour at all, pink sauce? Tough lamb, tandoori chicken that tasted of , well, nothing tbh.

I could actually cry tonight worse takeaway ever ..hate wasting money especially £25 was a special treat .s o order 3 nan kebabs borking hell disgusting swimming in sauce and oil nan bread wot nan bread soggy as .. freezing cold ..we had to bin the lot.. we were gonna ring bk up but wot point it would cost me more to collect again ..this place use to amazing.. not no more it was so dis - hearting.especially when so hungry and waited alday to enjoy something you haven't had in long time ..won't be visiting again . Just shocked you can serve food like this 😢😭

One of the best kebabs in Scarborough. I've been living in Scarborough a little over 3 years now and have not found anywhere that does a decent kebab and tonight I ordered one from VGT, I've had a curry from there in the last and it was awesome so I had high hopes. The Donner meat was beautifully seasoned, the salad was fresh and had a nice crunch, the mint sauce was amazing I could drink it from a cup and the naan had a nice char to it which really added to the flavour. Then as an added bonus they put coriander on top and I love coriander. Freaking 10 out of 10 I know where I'm getting my kebabs from from now on. Also the staff were super friendly and decent delivery time.

Portions are too small for the price also need to improve side salad. Naan bread are like a rooti size. I can't recommend nothing.

Going down hill, hate to say the first one I had was amazing, the second put me off, the third has spoilt it. The yogurt has been changed the chilli isn’t spicy and the meat is dry. Still willing to try it again but if you read this, you was so much better sorry guys.

I've never had a bad meal from here,can take a while but that is due to how popular it can be at peak times **2022 edit** has started to become a bit hit and miss sadly

I had a long weekend away with my wife from York and its the first time I have tried this takeaway I had chicken madras and pilau rice it was so nice and the young man was so friendly I will definitely go back again

Pros Excellent service. Online ordering via Just Eat. Good prices. Mids Food was mostly fine. Cons Chilli sauce on the kebab was more like a fruit sauce with very little heat. Korma sauce short on flavour.

Really good value to wait and for money. I ordered Lamb vindaloo, Madras, Chicken jafresi and extra Madras sauce From the price I expect to get a small portion but I got big portion with good taste!

Ordered tikka masala chicken madras weren't very nice at all and chicken kebab was rubbish. Will never go back there Did have a takeaway a while since that was OK nothing like the one from last night though

Try a chicken donner mix absolutely brilliant.

Ordered a king prawn vindaloo, special fried rice , fish boona and some sides. Overall we felt that it was very tasty, well prepared with adequate portion sizes. Would recommend.

Tonight my partner and I ordered two plain kebabs with garlic mayo and side of chips. Cost us £15 which is a rip off for what we got and the quality of the food was disgusting. Chips tasted old like they had been sat there for hours. The kebabs were tasteless and dry even though by the look of it, it was covered in some kind of curry paste. Was also served on a naan bread. Overall could not eat it. It was gross. Would not recommend.

Absolutely the worst curry i have ever tasted it was like slop and the meat was dry not to mention 2hr wait! So disappointed.

omg just had Indian from here for first time amazing 2 clean plates food was hot and came within 30 mins one lamb balti and chicken korma rice and garlic naan very highly recommend

Best special kebab in scarborough

I’ve tried all the curry places in town and here is the tastiest most consistent place I’ve been too, I asked them how quickly they could deliver and they said 25minutes yet it came in 15mins! Was very impressed.

Garlic nan .... crispy Mushroom rice very wet ,infact soaking Chicken madras .. 5 dice sized pieces.. poor I HAVE USED THIS TAKEAWAY FOR 30 YEARS ... IT SEEMS TO BE LACKING CARE AND QUALITY LATELY

I had heard good things about this place but sadly there were some issues. The salads were missing, the portion size was a bit small (only a few strips of donner meat) and we were charged an extra 1.50. Though there were some issues, the food itself was lovely and the sauces were really nice

I order from this lovely Indian takeaway and I think it's time to review as I'm never disappointed, the phone service, counter service, is really good and polite. The food has been made to my liking numerous occasions and I've been happy every time. Whenever my family visits I order a meal here, they always enjoy it! Best take away in Scarborough by far!! X

Not brilliant, the food was very mediocre, when you buy a main meal you have too purchase sundries IE chappati separate.....not a patch on the worse curry houses in Bradford, avoid!

We were very pleased with our first order as we went back a few days later. Service was great - they threw in a few free extras. Convenient parking nearby at Aldi - but register your car registration in store to avoid charges.

I was working in town for a couple of nights and decided to visit on the second night despite the bad reviews on here, as I used to get nan bread wraps here years ago and they were very good.Now they're not the same, they're even better! Loads of filling, decent salad including a good percent of peppers & tomatoes, not just the cheaper stuff. The dressing and sauce has an amazing citrus sweet taste. Loads of meat, not dry, piping hot and freshly cooked. All served in a tasty crispy edged nan bread. And for £6 it was a bargain.I had the tandoori and doner and my friend had the shish, both were spot on.Wish I'd visited the night before as where I went (naming no names), that used to be good, served a reasonably tasty, but nothing special, chicken doner kebab that gave me a dodgy belly the next day, all for 40p more!If you're after the best nan keban in town - you're going to have to try one of these. I know I'll be back ASAP.

1 hour 35 mins to be delivered. Set meal for 2. Order was missing Keema Naan and rice. The only thing that tasted ok was the poppadoms. After trying everything else it ended up in the bin..waste of £25. Will never order from them again.

Absolutely disgusted not just with the dry food but the attitude I got when complaining no apology no come back let’s try to please you just well you asked for plain NO I said no salad the TANDOORI chicken no sauces was dry as F@@@ KFC zinger was spicier total rubbish crap service and I live two streets away . Visiting Scarborough, tried based on the reviews only, did not disappoint. Friendly service and top quality food!

First time ever tried a naan kebab at £7.50 some might think twice it was worth all the money Batik well done.

Tuvimos una comida para llevar desde aquí la semana pasada. Muy decepcionante. La tienda es muy poco atractiva y necesita trabajar, en mi opinión para estar a nivel. Hay un tanque sucio para ver mientras su comida preparada. Nuestra comida fue excepcionalmente media. No vamos de nuevo.

Pedimos una comida para dos por comer, pero después de media hora recibimos una llamada diciendo que habrá una entrega 7 libras. Nos dijo que bien, ya que es un poco penoso a cerca de Scarborough Snainton. Tras otros 20 minutos nos llamaron otra vez diciendo que los lunes no entregar esta lejos. Fue algo fabula historia sobre compartir un conductor con alguien wlse sólo los lunes.De todos modos ... si no llega este lejos entonces no se deben a comer en la búsqueda de la zona sin duda.No puedo hacer ningún comentario sobre la comida, ya que nunca nos cualquiera y después de esto nunca probarlo.

Pedimos muchos llevar desde aquí y nunca he tenido una queja. Menú estándar, pero todos los curries entregar en términos de la esperada calor y diferencia de tipo, lo cual no es el caso en muchos lugares. El personal es amable y muy generoso con extras. Lo recomiendo sin reservas.

Nos pusieron a nuestro pedido y fuimos y recoge, 4 comidas en total. 2 de las comidas estaban bien, pero los 2 curry de pollo eran absolutamente terrible, de hecho casi incomible. No había mucho gusto y sin duda no spice. Cuando llamamos a quejarse no podían ser menos interesado en nuestra queja, sólo me dijeron que debería probar como lo hizo. Así que volvimos las comidas y a utilizar este lugar de nuevo.
