We was passing through last Friday Had few pints sat outside for 1 then came inside for other very friendly we had our little dog with us We didn’t stay for food but did look lovely tho 😊

We had booked. No one seemed to know or care. We did not eat. We tried to talk to th staff. We left. We will not return. We are local.

Had a lovely meal at this beautiful inn, the Turkish lamb kebab was amazing and cooked and seasoned to perfection. Atmosphere and staff were super friendly, helpful and welcoming!

Erkan & his staff are great. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The service was great, the food was superb, the location is lovely. I would recommend going to the Coachman 100%.

What a great pub !!! Friendly with a great atmosphere... Fella behind the ramp polite , helpful and friendly... Sat in the beer garden in the sunshine.... just passing through but the food that came out looked amazing so planning a dining experience already !!! 10 out of 10 well worth a visit !!!!

Looking at previous reviews, I can not believe what my husband and I have just eaten. The food was horrid . The so-called restaurant was more like a bus stop cafe. At first, I thought it was closed. We really should have turned around and left ,but the waitress caught us and asked if we wanted a table. Having been several times before, everything has always been very nice . I can not understand why the service, the food, and the ambience were so poor . We both had chicken liver pate, which was bland with a little bit of chutney on the side and a piece of chunky bread . Main course my husband had a seafood casserole which smelt burnt . He ate the fish out of it . It was supposed to come with chips but they never arrived . I had the fishcakes . I ate half of one and the other half and another full one I wrapped up and threw it in the bin as we left I know we should have complained ,but honestly, when other people on other tables are having a nice time chatting with friends , there is nothing worse than a complainer to dampen the evening .From start to finish was less than an hour Never again We literally could not wait to get out .I really do not know what else to say . I'm still in shock.

We were staying on a local campsite and decided to try here for tea. They were extremely accommodating finding a suitable table for myself, my partner, our toddler and dog. Very friendly customer service and the food was incredible. My partner said it was the best meal he has ever had (chicken & lamb Turkish kebab). If we lived closer we would certainly be back soon. Thank you!

Visiting my brother in Snainton, & he recommended a walk to The Coachman for dinner, & certainly wasn't disappointed with that recommendation. The smallish bar was busy & buzzing when we arrived, which is always a good sign on a midweek night, & the welcome from the staff was really friendly. Ordered a couple of pints from the choice of three or four real ales that they had on pump, & then sat outside at one of the numerous tables to relax & choose food. A good range of options, including some Turkish dishes as something different from the norm. Not cheap, but based on the quality & quantity of food that we experienced - two excellent burgers & a lamb kebab - it was decent value. Service good aswell. A good spot, & would definitely return & recommend!

Went for Sunday lunch 23 June . Excellent service and food was fabulous. All the staff were very helpful. Sarah Tia and Emma especially. Can recommend this to anybody.

The food was excellent, and so was the service, which was provided by pleasant and efficient staff who made sure that everything was to our satisfaction. The only criticism I can muster is that the meals, though DELICIOUS, were too big! I mention it only because this is something that could adversely affect profit margins, and also results in food wastage. No hesitation in strongly recommending 'The Coachman Inn' to anybody wanting a good meal in a pleasant atmosphere.

Know this inn from pre-lockdown days and couldn't wait to revisit. Food, service and Guiness as good as it ever was. Well done team. We'll be back!

Looking for a pub for lunch and we drove past the Coachman. Lunch here was top quality. We opted for the chicken parmesan and the Turkish chicken ciabatta. Both are very large portions. Highly recommended

Had a fabulous lockdown takeaway from the Coachman inn, easy to order and choose your pickup time, all ready there for you. All COVID guidelines followed and happy staff.

Really good food on a lunch time visit. I had the Yorkshire pudding with sausages, mash and veg. It was really good and massive portion. It nearly beat me. My other half had a wrap with lamb and chips and enjoyed it. The atmosphere was good with friendly staff and very clear Covid measures in place. Good location and easy to park at. Would recommend a visit.

Dirty cutlery, dirty glasses, vapid atmosphere and cornea destroying lighting. Honestly one of the worst meals out I've had in a long time, the restaurant is like a nursing home dining room. Having said all that, staff were warm and welcoming and very friendly - 4 stars to the two ladies who served us.

We chose this place based on previous reviews and were not disappointed. Despite calling up late in the afternoon the staff were able to accommodate us later that evening. I opted for the burger which was spot on and my partner opted for the giant Yorkshire pudding with beef. Portions were huge. The restaurant was spaced out nicely and COVID-19 procedures were in place from the moment you entered which was great. We will definitely return when we are in the area again.

Called in today for a drink on our way back from shopping. Had an afternoon meal.Erkan and his staff all very friendly.Environment all set up for the rules and regulations with signage in place and adhered to keeping everyone social distanced. Hand gels etc set up in all areas. NHS test & trace in place. Excellent service.Extensive menu. Delicious food.Great friendly atmosphere.Lovely country pub with great outdoor seating areas.HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We are so lucky to have The Coachman as our local.Try the Sunday Roast it's delicious.5 stars

Walked here from a nearby campsite after spending a day at Dalby Forest feeling a bit calorie deficit. That was soon remedied after having the "Famous loaf tin Yorkshire Pudding". Wow! What a monster of a dish. As a veggie the 4 veggie sausages, copious mash, tons of veg and onion gravy more than compared to the large meat dishes that were available. Great homecooked and wholesome food. Great value for money. Highly recommended.

We were staying in nearby Ebberston and visited this pub a couple of times during our holiday. The staff were so welcoming of us and our dog. Nice and cosy inside, nice beer garden outside and the food was lovely, portion sizes were huge. Will definitely be back on our next holiday.

Came here on a Tuesday lunchtime. Erkan as affable and charming as ever. We were a party of four and had 3 Turkish chicken kebabs and one fish and chips. The kebabs were simply outstanding and tremendously filling. Served on the skewer with bread, salad and chips. Sauces accompanied. Garlic bread with cheese sides were sublime. Fish was encased in crispy batter and was perfectly cooked. Taylor’s on draught an excellent ale. Great value, great service, cannot recommend enough

Went here after going for walk in Goatham and so glad we found this place. They are really dog friendly, even asked if the dogs needed a water bowl top up but what impressed me the most was how accommodating the staff were. I am vegetarian and just assume at time that places wont have a vegetarian sub for a Sunday dinner but they went above and behind for me. Cooked me some veggie sausages and got me a separate jug of veggie gravy. The food was amazing and was exactly what we wanted after our long walk. Can't fault a thing - gutted it's not close to home but will definitely return when we are in the area again.

Fantastic food and great beer. Its my 2nd visit in the last year and will visit much more often. A good selection of real ale at its very best. Tried all 4 real ales and each one was perfect.

Called in for lunch and was treated to a real feast. Had a steak ciabatta from the light snack menu, it was huge and delicious. Service was top drawer even when sat on an outside table. The real treat for me was a fantastic pint of Old Peculiar my favourite draught ale which is rarely found in pubs these days. Well done Coachman Inn for a super experience and we'll be back

My partner and I were staying in the area and The Coachman Inn was recommended to us. We booked a table and were warmly welcomed upon arrival. The staff were polite and courteous and the service was quick. As for the food... delicious! I can recommend the large Yorkshire Pudding!We enjoyed the meal so much we decided to eat there again the following night and were again treated to another delicious meal. It was great to chat with the owner, too (mainly about cars in this case!) Highly recommended and we would definitely eat here again should our travels bring us this way.

Impromptu visit on Sunday afternoon with my husband and son. We have dined at the coachman many times before and have never been disappointed. Erkan and his amazing team were the perfect hosts as always and made us feel so welcome. Sunday lunch was plentiful,hot and tasty and all that was left was three empty plates.... covid and social distancing rules were all in place we felt very safe and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch!!Thank you very much Erkan see you again very soon

This was a last minute booking for a couple of nights away. The title said it all. The welcome e was lovely. Emma made us feel like we would enjoy the stay from the off. She showed us to our room, advised us of breakfast times and left us to get settled after a lengthy drive from Kent. The room was at the front of the hotel on the first floor (Dasher) and was a good size with an ensuite that more than filled our needs. It was clean and comfortable with lots of storage should we wished to have stayed longer.The hotel is close enough to Scarborough to be included in the listing but head the other way and you can enjoy the glorious countryside Yorkshire has to offer.Evening meal was excellent and hosts locally produced fare which is exceptional. It also has a Turkish mix on the menu which was unexpected but totally enjoyed on our second nights meal. The locals all had a chat and were friendly. Breakfast was lovely and our host, Yurac, was again very friendly. Nothing is any trouble and I would wholeheartedly stay again. Thanks for a great stay

Great to be back to Sunday Carvery at The Coachman after lockdown. The staff are always so friendly and helpful and the food is amazing with a plentiful choice and generous serving of roast meats and excellent selection of freshly prepared vegetables, this is always our go to place for Sunday lunch.

A fantastic place to come! Always a warm welcome from all of the staff, gorgeous food with plenty of choice! Reasonably priced and you get your money’s worth! Beer is well kept and the kebabs are fab! Would recommend to anyone.

After a cold, windy and wt day in Whitby we dropped into the Coachman on the way back to the camp site. Inside was toasty and a warm welcome from all the staff. We enjoyed a lovely supper from a menu with something for everyone. Kids enjoyed typical favourites, I had a chunky steak and stilton ciabbata and hubby the local butcher steak pie. The atmopshere was relaxed and we enjoyed a few card games. The desserts were the finale - delicious. All four of us ate very well with a few drinks for just over £60 - we love this place.

Well what can I say.... Not impressed we booked a table for 7 got in for 10 past (not bad) food was standard needed a stake knife to cut my pie and couldn't stab it on my falk Finnish our meal waited a few minutes and we were getting asked to leave because they needed the table we had only been sat down for 45 minutes I said we haven't had a dessert yet or even seen a menu the lady was flustered and gave 3 options for dessert and stud there with her notebook and pen we felt very much rushed and not relaxed so we decided to leave and got a really tasty Ben and Jerry's from the shop on the way home. We won't be going again

Eaten here on a couple of occasions now. Four of us ate this evening. Staff were excellent, very knowledgeable regarding gluten free options. Generous portions and excellent choice across the menu. Definitely worth a visit.

Overpriced and very disappointed with the menu choice. Also, standard carvery charged at £ 14.95.If you are used to a nice steak this is definitely not the place to go as limited option, just a few green beans, old and overcooked chips, small steak for £25.

Decided to go for a meal with a friend, and being nervous was wondering if the tables would be far enough apart I didn't need to worry, the coachman had all the tables well apart from each other, the catering manager welcomed us and the waitress took us to our table, the owner then greeted us, everyone made us feel very special, from the menus I chose the fish and my friend chose the steak pie, I cannot say enough about this place as the food and service were second to none, we thoroughly enjoyed our food, exceptionally cooked, nothing was to much trouble for this restaurant, the staff were excellent, really polite, the food was honestly beautifully cooked, thank you all at the Coachman for a wonderful night, and beautiful food, and of course your lovely service, thank you, we will be back, I felt reassured that the staff took the time to ask for our contact numbers, and details, which I thought was on the ball, it made us feel safe.

Popped in for a quick drink on the way home, ended up getting the last table inside for a lovely meal, as the food smelt too good to resist. Absolutely lovely chicken kebab. Thank you

We stayed at The Coachman on 26th August en route from Norfolk to Montrose. It was excellent, we have 2 small dogs and were made very welcome, lovely spacious bedroom with all the little extras such as water and tissues etc. The staff were all very well trained, charming and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Very busy so a little wait for dinner, but that's a good sign as quite a few locals. Good food nicely presented. An excellent breakfast and we were lucky enough to have the 'boss' looking after us. All in all a great stay, we will use again if we go that way and would recommend. Joy & Eric, Montrose.

We drove miles from our lodge near Filey to eat here. We was ignored for quite a while when we arrived, and eventually ended up seating ourselves. At a glance the menu is good with a nice selection of meals on there. I had the Haddock and chips and my partner had a beef burger. When the meals arrived we wasn't impressed. The triple cooked chips that they serve where pretty disgusting and the haddock was so greasy. The beef burger was overcooked and dry. The meal cost over £34.Very disappointed with the service we received and the price that you pay for what you get.

Ate here this evening for the first time, All the waitresses and the owner were extremely friendly and welcoming!!! My husband and I were literally spoilt for choice with the menu and took some time to decide But we both plumbed for the kebabs, hubby had the lamb , me the chicken ....... amazing. Tender meat, tasty authentic chargrilled taste.Will def return hopefully very soon Thank you !!!

Really looking forward to going for lunch. Very extensive menu on website. But when we got there this was not reflected a very slimmed down menu and way more expensive than the website.Arrived and no details taken ie phone number. May be Snainton is Covid exempt.!Shown to table in dinning room were fellow guests and dogs were there. We have nothing against dogs but we do not like to share our dinning experience with them. It would of been nice to be asked if we minded dogs as some people are allergic to dogs and some people people suffer from asthma.Ordered Glaves steak pie which is a high class butchers in the next village. It arrived extremely tough pastry due to been over cooked.no extra gravy to soften this hard pastry.I had plastic burgers. I was expecting better quality especially with Glaves butchers in next village. They were a bit pink in the middle and luke warm.Would we go back sorry no and yes we are locals.

It was our first visit, and to be honest we won't be in a hurry to go back. Once seated it took a long time to get seen, and that was just for drinks. We eventually ordered food and although it arrived quite quickly, one meal had the incorrect side order, most of the food was warm at best, the beef burgers were of the rubbery processed variety and we had to ask waiting staff twice after the meal was served for the accompanying vegetables for one of our dishes. If only the food had matched the surroundings.

Visited york Wednesday 19th Aug, but couldn’t find somewhere to eat at short notice and late evening. Not only did they allow us to order food there with minutes to spare but they even provided us milk, tea and sugar as we’d run out of the above at a nearby Guest house. Big thank you to all the staff, and of course the cooks

Food was absolutely brilliant, please try the Turkish kebabs, also excellent homemade chips, staff are always very friendly & efficient, we are regularly visitors all year round as our experience there has always been very positive & we love the food.

Had several meals at The Coachman as a family get together. I think between us all we have sampled everything from the menu, fabulous food every time, chicken kebab is a definite must! The host and all his staff are welcoming and friendly and are always on hand should you need anything. Plenty of seating outdoors in lovely surroundings.

Food was average pub food at best. We booked a table, upon arrival we weren’t asked who we were, just sat at a table for 4 which was dirty from previous diners. We were then moved to another table. It was then decided that another party needed our table so we were moved back. They did clean that table but not the other one?We didn’t realise until afterwards that none of us had been asked for a contact number. Upon chatting to a local couple it appeared that the rules don’t apply to the coachman. Staff were very friendly though if not the most efficient I would avoid for the time being.

I attended with my family during the governments 50% offer and we arrived and though wow this place is busy! on arrival safety measures were in place and we were greeted and shown straight to our table. Within minutes we had our food ordered! We were served by a couple of different waitresses throughout the night and each one was polite and many were in and out all the time checking tables so there was no waiting around to catch anyone if we needed anything. The food came out quick and hot and was cooked perfectly! and shortly after we finished, our table was cleared promptly (pet hate - sitting at a table with finished plates of food!) we enjoyed a pudding and then moved to sit outside and enjoy a drink before heading home. Definitley a place to try if you haven't been already!!Big shout out to all the staff who are doing such a brilliant job under such busy circumstances!!

Had a number of meals here, and each time we have been very pleased with the food, service and surroundings, all the staff are very attentive and happy in their work. The Owner and all staff have a very good rappor with customers.Recently we have had the Chicken Kebab which is very addictive! and Sirloin Steaks, cooked to perfection just the way we like them. The rare beef served on Sunday Carvery is also a must! There is usually a range of specials on under normal circumstances (when Boris doesn’t encourage the whole nation to eat out) which we like to try!Food is very well presented, fresh and hot and portions are very generous. Try for yourselves, you won’t be disappointed!

We had dinner booked for Saturday evening, after reading a number of good reviews about the place. Unfortunately, our visit was far from 5*. While the food was OK (pretty standard pub food; a decent steak and ale pie was let down by the gravy and soft chips), the service was very poor. After we ordered, we waited a long time for the food to come out, and after we finished our mains, we waited another hour or so before we had to go look for a waitress to order desserts. We were then told that the kitchen has already closed but they will make the desserts for us. The sticky toffee pudding came barely lukewarm and, while the portion was generous, it did not save the night. Unfortunately, we will not return.

I'm up from London visiting family. We we went out to to have a Sunday evening meal with the family. Couldn't have asked for a more friendly and accommodating restaurant. Really well received on arrival, nice table and great personable service from the owner through to the serving team. Food was wonderful and everything we had from the chicken kebabs through to the steak was tasty and no problem with me asking for it to be almost burnt!! No problem with portion sizes whatsoever - make sure you are hungry. Takes a lot to stop me from having dessert but I was completely full after my starters and dinner. Can't wait to go back!

We called at the coachman on a sunny Wednesday and sat out in the garden..I ordered fish and chips and my wife ordered steak pie..the fish was nice with crispy batter but the chips were hard too hard and looked like they were frozen don't know if they were, served with a strange salad of mainly cucumber, my wife said her pie was ok but the vegetables were hard, I tried a little bit and she was right the broccoli was extremely hard..Sadly we not be going back even though most reviews say how nice it is but not for us.

We came after reading good reviews on here, and talking advantage of the government's eat out to help out scheme. They are currently operating a limited menu compared to what's on the website and the prices are slightly higher (before the 50% off). The service we received differed depending on which waitress served us. All were efficient and polite, but a couple seemed quite put out to be serving us (it was quite busy but a smile goes a long way). The food arrived in good time and was delicious. I had the crayfish and steak (ordered medium rare but came medium), my wife had the mushro, we would visit again during the scheme but probably wouldn't pay full price (£76 including 3 soft drinks seems a little steep).

We had been to Cayton Bay for a walk and decided to call here for a late lunch on the way home. A table was found for us straight away. Nice large table well spaced away from other people. Dog friendly which is ideal for us. Efficient professional service from our waiter. The food was excellent, tasty and hot. One way system in and out and plenty of sanitising products for customers to use so we all felt really safe. Clean toilets. Easy car parking. Outside space looks nice would love to sit out on a warm day. We used the government eat out to help out scheme. Thoroughly recommend and cannot wait to visit again.

Our first meal out since Covid-19 Lockdown and all that followed. Hand sanitiser at the door, floor markings for one-way movement, barrier preventing closeness to the bar, suitably placed tables, plus an outside eating area, all provided the necessary confidence. We were warned there might a 40-minute delay after ordering, but this turned to be more like 25 mins. The food was deliciously presented on the plate, and more to the point, delicious to eat as well. The service was friendly and efficient. Even without the benefit of the government discount, the price would have been very reasonable.

Superb service, great food (great variety as well as pub classics) and handling the COVID restrictions really well. We turned up with 11 people over 2 tables, mixture of children and adults. The bar staff and waiting staff could not have been more helpful.

A really good fine as we were staying in Ebberston for the week. Called in on the off chance Sunday evening and staff found us a table. I had the pie and my partner had the Loaf Tin Yorkshire Pudding with beef, wow! Amazing food, very welcoming staff and a lovely atmosphere. Went back on the Friday night as we were so impressed with the food - I totally recommend the Fish Pie, best I've ever had and my partner had the Turkish chicken guvec, Amazing! Totally recommend a visit the Coachman Inn, you really won't be disappointed and will leave with a very full tummy!

My family and I visited here on our last evening in Yorkshire. What a treat! The food and staff were both amazing. Its a beautiful place with lots of country charm too. We were even lucky enough to be visited by the local horse and cart and were able to give the horse a little fuss while it drank it's beer. Yes you read that right! We will definitely go back when we're back in the area and might even stay in the accommodation there as it looks lovely. Thanks for making our last night perfect!

I wanted something special so suggested I order a meal for me and my parents for dinner, it wasn't a long wait and was delivered in a bag and the usual takeaway containers... I had the Coachman Burger which was marvellous. Toasted bun, nice patties, and real pub chips, the triple cooked sort, my parents enjoyed their meals, would definitely go when things are back open. Probably the best thing I've tasted in ages.

We had a amazing night with outstanding food from the Turkish night menu a must for everyone if you get the chance. Enjoy

Stayed at the Coachman Inn for one night (bed and breakfast). Emma greeted us with a warm welcome and showed us to our room, the room was pretty basic and tired, but it was clean and tidy.We had dinner in restaurant, the servers were really attentive, with wonderful customer service skills. The food was OK, I really enjoyed my meal (Scampi) but unfortunately my partner did not enjoy his (Mixed Grill).Breakfast was very good and the server was very professional, efficient and attentive.The only downside was the loud noise- coming from the people who were outside drinking and smoking which kept us awake, we did not appreciate this as we had an early start next morning.I would have rated the Coachman Inn a little higher... if it hadn't been for the noise outside and the lack of sleep.

We visited as a three generation family party of ten including a infant baby and were greeted warmly and welcomed to our reserved table having booked a few days earlier to celebrate a retirement and birthdays, it was warm and comfortable and quite busy including the bar. Our orders were taken and all small adjustments were met with no mistakes.....an extensive menu with delicious Turkish kebabs available and a specials board too...It was nice to see T-bone steaks available and they were quickly snapped up and cooked to perfection. Others had fish,chicken,kebabs and grills all wonderful.....everyone loved their chosen dishes and mouth-watering deserts too....all reasonably priced and great service.The car park is good, flat and well lit at night......Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and we will definitely be back soon....

Lunch with a group of ladies. Fantastic food and plenty of it. Lamb kebabs amazing, sandwiches had plenty of filling, burger and veg option also great and plenty of it.

Really can't recommend this place enough. Hubby and I had an overnight stay here and enjoyed every minute. The room was fabulous,the food was outstanding and Erkon the host was fantastic. Will definitely be back soon. 5***** from me 👌

Lovely warm welcome, cosy open fire in the bar, excellent service, food is beautiful and cater for all needs, nothing too much trouble, food was presented very well, piping hot and generous portions, can definitely recommend a visit !

We stayed overnight. Met by the lovely Emma who showed us to our room to get settled. Lovely room , very clean. Fresh bedding and towels. Went down to the bar for a welcome pint . All very friendly. Food was lovely, staff and owner really pleasant people. Can't do enough for you. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was great. Nothing negative to say. Would highly recommend. The team at The Coachman always make us feel very welcome and try their best to cater for dietary requirements. The Sunday carvery has lots of options including vegetarian, when The quality of the food is superb. Highly recommended.

Well what can i say! It was great from the minute i stepped in through the front door. What a lovely, warm welcome we got. The gentleman was so friendly and made us feel very welcome. We sat in the bar, the fire was roaring, it was lovely, we ordered our food, i had steak.... rare as I like it and it was perfect!!!!! Cant remember what everyone ordered but all plates were clean!!! Can not fault anything, will definitely be back! Keep up the good work.

From start to finish this was an amazing experience the staff made you feel so welcome as soon as we arrived the food was exceptional presentation next level 10 \ 10 for taste just all in all the best place I've eaten in North Yorkshire and the rooms so clean well kept amazing for the price I would recommend this place for a lovely get away close to all lovely villages and amazing views from the coachman it's self my advice if your ever visiting North Yorkshire be sure to stay and eat here highly recommended xx

Visited the Coachman for Sunday lunch, warm welcome by staff, fabulous service, could not fault the meal everything cooked to perfection, would highly recommend a visit!

We have been going to The Coachman for quote a bit and it is a great pub.The staff are very welcoming and friendly and there is a loverly county pub feel to the place with a roaring fire and quaint atmosphere.

Having made a reservation for our evening meal, it was disappointing that our table in the snug was not available on time and instead we ended up dining in the main restaurant half an hour late. Our reservation was pointless. The food was plentiful and generally good rather than great. Unfortunately one of our chosen main courses had run out and a second choice had to suffice. We had to ask for vegetable serving cutlery. Despite wanting sweets, no menu was offered or forthcoming and we went without. Instead it felt as though the restaurant was closing around us as tables were cleared and stripped a few feet away from us. The waitresses were very polite and attentive, particularly so as they must have been aware we were unhappy - although regrettably the (presumed) manager did not seek us out and no compensatory redress was offered for our poor experience. Scarborough and district has many excellent dining establishments to offer - sadly I will not be returning here, nor am I able to recommend it on the basis of my experience.

My son and I had Christmas Day lunch here and it was everything we have come to expect from the Coachman - superb. Lovely atmosphere and a really friendly welcome from Wayne, Erkan and Emma. We had a table for two in the smaller dining room which was great . Starters were ready for us, very tasty and big portions. Very impressive choice of meats and accompanying vegs etc for main course. Great wine( we had to have a second bottle!). My son couldn’t find space for his cheese and biscuits , so as usual, Emma provided him with a “take home” box. As we live in the village , it’s great to be able to walk to such a foodie place. This place can’t be faulted in my opinion, we love it!

Came here in October....liked it so much we decided to book a 1 night stay for our anniversary. Had a lovely meal and good beer. Room was perfect, very spacious, clean and well suited. Requested some flowers for the room to suprise my wife, which were there as requested. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful and tasty (although would have been nice to be asked what we preferred as both of us hate mushrooms)....this is not a complaint merely feedback and this did not detract from a lovely stay. Thanks to Erkan, Emma and the staff.

A last minute decision to have our evening meal at The Coachman was as usual a fabulous meal and of the standard expected from The Coachman, although of late we have only eaten the Sunday carvery which is amazing value for money.

We came here on a friend’s recommendation... I am not a fan of Carvery (sp) style meals but I have to say this was amazing! Beef pink, lamb pink and moist, pork moist... veg all hot and tasty...

We called up and booked a table for 2 for Sunday lunch... we arrived and was greeted by a lovely young lady on the bar who got us our drinks and carvery ticket, asked where we wanted to sit so I asked if we could sit in the main bit rather the bar area and she said this was fine and showed us to a table it was nice and busy ( always nice to see) and food looked nice and fresh to which it was the food was spot on lovely meat and all veg fresh and hot!! The waiting on staff need to be more confident but they are lovely and polite... the only bad thing I can say is the older waitress lady was a little rude she cleared our plates and asked about desserts we said no were full thanks to which she responded with well then can you leave the table because I need it... normally i wouldn’t be bothered I understand tables sometimes need to be turned round I run restaurants myself but when we had literally only been sat there 20 minutes i find this rude yes if we had been sat there a good hour or so I wouldn’t of minded but I find it a little rude and cheeky to ask someone to leave the table after only been sat such a short time .... BUT that aside the food is lovely and all staff friendly even this lady but maybe she needs to work on the people skills a little bit more and have a better seating plan in mind.....

We traveled from Nottingham today,to be overwhelmed by a beautiful carvery. I opted for the lamb which succulent. I also asked for a bit of crackling and for my cheek i got it! Other members of our party had the pork and turkey which they enjoyed as much as i did my lamb. The puddings were out of this world. A real turkish delight. I would highly recomend this gorgeous Inn.

I had some very good feedback about the coachman so decided it would be the place to have our Xmas get together

First ever Christmas Lunch at a restaurant and must say the whole experience was fantastic, from the minute arrived we had our Coates taken and were offered a free tipple, and with no rush whatsoever we were shown to our table, The friendly staff seemed very relaxed and polite, The three courses of food were presented nicely and delicious, A Christmas to remember

After a heavy day xmas shopping my partner and I decided to stop off at the coachman we have been many times before but never have we chosen the Turkish kebab I am very happy we did it was amazing the flavours were second to none, it melted in your mouth, the staff as usual are so friendly nothing is to much trouble for them atmosphere for xmas was fab log fires and gorgeous decorations well done to all staff chefs and owners will return again very shortly and bring friends with us who always enjoy good food and good atmosphere

Absolutely fantastic day with my friends with gorgeous food! The Sunday carvery has so much choice and is delicious. A large range of puddings as well if you have left yourself some room especially the sticky toffee pudding. Would highly recommend. The staff are so friendly and Erkan goes out of his way to ensure everyone is happy and satisfied with their visit.

If you like pub grub then the food will be right up your street. We found it rather disappointing as the photos on the website made it look better than it really was. Service rather slow as they didn't have enough staff for a very busy Saturday night. No wine list - the one on the website is obsolete so we were told to choose one off it and they would find a similar one. Our table ordered a Bordeaux and a Pinot Grigio, so rather amused to find that whatever you ordered, you got a bottle of Jack Rabbit! (a very basic pub brand). Starters were fine, and my husband's fish, but the Teesside chicken had an odd taste to it, the kebabs were dried out and the next day 3 out of 4 of us had upset stomachs. Won't be going again.

From the moment we walked in we got a very warm welcome.there was a cosy fire and really friendly staff. We were a big party so things normally get missed BUT not here, service great, food wonderful, everyone was happy and very full. Very reasonable prices. Planning my next visit already.

Still one of the best places in Scarborough to go for a carvery on a Sunday ... Not only are the staff friendly but the food is excellent.. highly recommend the new York cheesecake!.. outstanding!
