Stopped by while on holiday locally, and I'm so glad we did. Superb food. Best chippy tea I've had in years! Top marks!

Bought fish and chips for one yesterday evening. Massive fish and lots of chips. The fish was awful and almost inedible and there were too many chips. A large amount of the fish and the chips finished up in the waste bin. Also a cash only establishment. Overall assess, disappointing

My mum's favourite chippy. I'm a veggie but I drive her the hour round trip nearby every time I visit and it's the highlight of my visit for her (and I pinch a few of her chips) 🤣 Cooked to order, friendly staff.

We drive from miles around to get fish and chips here as they are superb. Not the cheapest but worth every penny. If you don't like them there is summat wrong with you

How can you charge £9.30 for a large haddock??? Fish very nice same for chips and peas. Overcharging beyond belief.

It must be so so hard to make a living from fish and chips at the moment, some must be tempted to cut corners. These are the most amazing fish and chips you'll eat, melt in the mouth fish and on top of that service is spot on. Well done Seamer you have a little gem here. 100% support local but these are worth travelling for too !!

Beautiful proper Northern fish and chips! Always great to come home to Scarborough for a few days and indulge. Need to cook the chips a bit longer though as they can be a bit anaemic and soggy sometimes. And they should allow card payment rather than making everyone walk to Proudfoots ATM. They have a machine but force people to walk to the ATM. It isn't far admittedly but it's still a hassle! Just offer the service and charge a quid more. If you don't want to pay the charge, THEN walk to the ATM.

The fish and chips are excellent. Really nice and light batter on the fish. The fish was freshly cooked and chips were smashing. I had curry sauce with it and that was really tasty. Would definitely recommend!! Yep still really good!

Been coming Seamer Fisheries now for about 6years the food has always been great & staff have always been friendly. The only reason I have not given you a 5 star review is because I find it absolutely ridiculous that in the 21st century when everybody pays by card that you refuse card payments & only take cash, who carries cash around nowadays?

Sure I've already reviewed but oh well... what a lovely little place,staff absolutely amazing especially the lady on the counter when we visited on Saturday nothing was too much trouble for her even though our order was big and was due to close at 8 it was 7.30 highly recommend

Honestly probably the best chip shop I've ever been in!! Me & family were staying near by at cayton bay caravan park & wanted somewhere near by to get tea for us all and came across this place on Google and it didn't fail.. I've never met more friendly staff.. the lady who served us on Saturday went above & beyond especially when we had such a big order & wanted things a certain way nothing was too much for her.. honestly place is amazing the people & food.. highly recommend 👌

My fish was overcooked. I couldn’t eat half of it because it was chewy. Such a shame because the service was great

Fish and chips are excellent from here, must admit I have been disappointed with other chippys in Scarborough lately for quality, but the ones at Seamer have been spot on.

Not very good lack of beverage facilities also not really flexible, cash preference over card machine or likely to be charged for orders under £10

Really great fish and chips (probably the best in Scarborough) let down by overpricing....feeding a family of four will set you back about £50....which is alot for fish and chips. If you are in Scarborough for a one off I would recommend, but regularly probably not an option without a lottery win.

Seamer fisheries came recommended by a friend and we wasn’t disappointed. The cod was perfect with light batter to complement. The chips were just right too. A chap in the queue had traveled from Scarborough on a cycle just for their fish cakes. If you are in the area on holiday this is well worth a drive out

Disappointed. Batter on fish was chewy not crispy. Haddock was lacking in taste and chips were nearly cold. Sorry Seamer Fisheries. Have previously enjoyed your take aways. What happened?

We used this 'chippy' for the first time recently and I have to say I was impressed. The fish was beautifully cooked and the batter was tasty. The chips were also nicely cooked and not at all greasy. The service was quick and friendly so all in all a good experience and we will be going back again soon.

Tonight we just fancied fish and chips. So off I went to the best Fish and Chip shop, in, or around Scarborough. We had Cod and Chips, a carton of curry and a carton of mushy peas! Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Have been wanting to try this fish shop for a long time and finally managed it. Was not disappointed, the fish was top notch, fresh and beautifully cooked. Thank you so much.

Best fish n chips for miles around

Good fish and chip shops are increasingly hard to find but make no mistake this isn't just a good chippy it's more of a great one! In a time where the word traditional is used by the masses in terms of marketing their chip shop. The reality is few seldom are traditional and able to offer really top notch quality and fresh products like this chippy does. The Yorkshire coast is primarily Haddock territory. Though this chippy offers both and both are excellent, really excellent! The batter is light but crisp. The fish both Haddock & Cod flawless the chips utterly superb having just the right amount of crunch whilst not being soggy or sharp respectively. The value was excellent and the mushy peas as good as I can ever remember having! They even use real proper vinegar you can actually taste and the service was exemplary! Beef dripping to fry in and whilst the fish was frozen at sea, you'd never know that it wasn't fresh instead of frozen at sea they are that good! Highly recommended the food, staff and it's open Sunday tea time from 4 o'clock. I'm going to award this place my very own accolade of excellence. I just couldn't fault it at all. Blinding chippy I highly recommend you go and discover it yourself. I guarantee you will not be disappointed! 6 stars all the way from me for this chippy!!!!!!

Very welcoming staff, took our order in no time, our food was cooked fresh. The meal was really tasty and we left nothing for the dog 😁 Only open until 8pm on Saturday.

Portions good but had run out of peas well before closing time on a Friday night!

No not a fake review I'll call in if you want. Seems like your trying to cover up a rubbish service. I understand business is tough at times But manners and cleanliness Don't cost anything. Please review my post and get back to me once you've made efforts to put things right. Calling me a fake review is the easy way out.

Brilliant best take away chippy I have had ever on the ball not long too wait and defently not disappointing great portions I had the scampi class hubby had the haddock great chip portion was more than enough and loads off scraps

Mouth watering fish'n'chips. Not bad price either. Parking outside OK.

I was worried this year as we have seen a few bad reviews and this is our usual holiday chippy.Don't worry the quality of this chip shop is still the best around!!The staff were friendly as always the portions are very generous but the fish and chips are lovely.It is 100% worth the 15 minutes each way drive for us to get here.

It’s just a nice long stretch of a beach to chill out, go with family , take your dog, or do some jogging. Go for it . I found it quite peaceful as I went later on but it will definitely be chocca block during summer ! Plus they have tiny little cute shops you can visit in the area

Since I wrote my last review I revisited the shop. Admit it was just before Xmas, but the owners need to know. On arrival at the shop, I inadvertently jumped the queue to order. The young girl serving who has no customer skills whatsoever shouted at me to GET OUT, not your turn. I must’ve been shocked as I didn’t depart at that point. When it was my turn I re-entered and started to order. I had barely said two fish cakes when she replied “Run out, pick something else!” This was said very sharply and at that point, I told them to forget it and I would take my custom elsewhere and I have not been back since. This is sad as I have been going in since my parents took me in in the 1960’s and it has always been the best chippie in the area. Don’t know if she’s still there, or if the food has regained its very high quality.

Was looking forward to fish and chips, usually lovely, but disappointing this time, changed owners, didn't taste half as good, girls very unfriendly, prices gone up too. So sad.

Under new owners and gone down hill.Fish and chips were lovely from here but now not so good.Had fish n Chips and the fish was lovely but the chips were near cold and mushy.Sorry to say wont return as dont like wasting money.Covid a problem but cold mushy chips is as bad :-)

First class service, food delicious

Quality fish and chips everytime, been coming for 4 years and always good. Only criticism is they need to make ordering and queuing easier with covid, they need a lane for ordered and waiting to collect and a lane for ordering as when it's busy its a nightmare but this is mainly because the public are stupid and not fault of the operator but some signage would help this!

Since I last wrote last review. Things have changed. Fish & chips are still the best. Queing & ordering still a bit hit and miss. Though customers help each other. Which is always nice to see. But attitude as changed massively. Friendly and polite 10/10
