We had a misunderstanding a few weeks ago. Visited again this evening & all was sorted. The fish and chips are the best in the area & we are local. We travel 15 miles return to get the fish & chips despite others being nearer. Do not hesitate to visit. Superb food.

Always top rate. Yes, it's expensive but the quality of the food speaks for itself. Staff great, know my name and usual order.

Called in for lunch on the way to Scarborough. Was near closing but my fish and chips were freshly cooked without any complaints. Good portion and we cooked. Very enjoyable. Well worth calling if in the area.

Beautiful fish and chips. Thick fish in a crispy, melt in the mouth batter and it was cooked to perfection. Chips were just right and the mushy peas were lovely. Huge portion and one of the best in the area

It’s great to see a revival in cooking with animal fats. Studies from the 1950s claiming a link with heart disease were found to be wrong by numerous recent studies. I always seek out shops that use natural fats as opposed to seed oil - which is extracted using toxic solvents. The fish and chips here are great value for money, with generous portions. The fish is always top quality.

Superb fish and chips as usual. The only drawback is that you MUST pay in cash!!!! Which in my view is rather behind the times?

Fantastic crispy batter with thick and succulent fish flakes on the haddock. Fishcake much larger than expected, the mix was in good proportion, chunks of potato and fish, well seasoned. Chips lovely and fluffy. Asked for a few scraps and got a bagful - brilliant! The server behind the counter was friendly and made conversation whilst the food was being cooked.

Delicious fish and chips every time, so handy now they have a card machine !

Used to be great chippy this, first.visit in over 3 years and it's even better than I remembered it , thick fish cooked perfectly, lovely batter and the chips were also amazing. Will definitely be back again . Beautiful ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We have rented a holiday cottage a few minutes walk away, tried Seamer Fisheries for the first time this evening - the best we have had in the area. Very fresh fish and friendly staff. However, I was lucky I have a cash with me so I paid in cash but I observed few customers have left because they couldn’t pay by card. I think Seamer Fisheries should consider about an another way of payment. For example, take credit cards.

Always great fish & chips from Seamer Fisheries. The staff are polite and 9 out of 10 times it’s always ready when you arrive. Best chippy in Scarborough.

Hmm, to be fair chips n peas were good but the fish ended up as cat food. Dry, overcooked. Other issue - cash only!

What a fantastic experience and incredible food we had tonight from Seamer fisheries. Ordered on the phone and spoke to a lovely lady. She explained a few items had sold out due to them being busy, but was patient waiting for us to decide on an alternative. Very reasonably priced, huge fish and lots of chips. Just perfect. Thank you so much ☺️

Always used to be lovely but today absolutely inedible! Fish hard and rubbery and dry, used to be perfection. Sorry won't be coming again

Sooooo disappointed. This was our favourite holiday treat when we came to Filey but something drastic has happened. Our haddock and chips were disgusting!! The fish had no taste and was hard and rubbery. It always used to be tasty and cooked to perfection. Needless to say £16.50 totally wasted as it ended up in the bin!.Sorry, won't be calling again.

I would never get my fish and chips anywhere else, we have been going for years now and the food is always great. Not sure I should tell you this because the ques are long enough lol.

Bought fish and chips for one yesterday evening. Massive fish and lots of chips. The fish was awful and almost inedible and there were too many chips. A large amount of the fish and the chips finished up in the waste bin. Also a cash only establishment. Overall assess, disappointing

My mum's favourite chippy. I'm a veggie but I drive her the hour round trip nearby every time I visit and it's the highlight of my visit for her (and I pinch a few of her chips) 🤣 Cooked to order, friendly staff.

We drive from miles around to get fish and chips here as they are superb. Not the cheapest but worth every penny. If you don't like them there is summat wrong with you

Superb. You will not find better fish anywhere else in this Scarborough area. Not greasy at all. sizeable and thick cut. we ordered for 10 people and it was all ready and spot on at the requested time. Great service and very friendly staff.

How can you charge £9.30 for a large haddock??? Fish very nice same for chips and peas. Overcharging beyond belief.

It must be so so hard to make a living from fish and chips at the moment, some must be tempted to cut corners. These are the most amazing fish and chips you'll eat, melt in the mouth fish and on top of that service is spot on. Well done Seamer you have a little gem here. 100% support local but these are worth travelling for too !!

Beautiful proper Northern fish and chips! Always great to come home to Scarborough for a few days and indulge. Need to cook the chips a bit longer though as they can be a bit anaemic and soggy sometimes. And they should allow card payment rather than making everyone walk to Proudfoots ATM. They have a machine but force people to walk to the ATM. It isn't far admittedly but it's still a hassle! Just offer the service and charge a quid more. If you don't want to pay the charge, THEN walk to the ATM.

The fish and chips are excellent. Really nice and light batter on the fish. The fish was freshly cooked and chips were smashing. I had curry sauce with it and that was really tasty. Would definitely recommend!! Yep still really good!

Been coming Seamer Fisheries now for about 6years the food has always been great & staff have always been friendly. The only reason I have not given you a 5 star review is because I find it absolutely ridiculous that in the 21st century when everybody pays by card that you refuse card payments & only take cash, who carries cash around nowadays?

Sure I've already reviewed but oh well... what a lovely little place,staff absolutely amazing especially the lady on the counter when we visited on Saturday nothing was too much trouble for her even though our order was big and was due to close at 8 it was 7.30 highly recommend

Honestly probably the best chip shop I've ever been in!! Me & family were staying near by at cayton bay caravan park & wanted somewhere near by to get tea for us all and came across this place on Google and it didn't fail.. I've never met more friendly staff.. the lady who served us on Saturday went above & beyond especially when we had such a big order & wanted things a certain way nothing was too much for her.. honestly place is amazing the people & food.. highly recommend 👌

Fish and chips are excellent from here, must admit I have been disappointed with other chippys in Scarborough lately for quality, but the ones at Seamer have been spot on.

Not very good lack of beverage facilities also not really flexible, cash preference over card machine or likely to be charged for orders under £10

Really great fish and chips (probably the best in Scarborough) let down by overpricing....feeding a family of four will set you back about £50....which is alot for fish and chips. If you are in Scarborough for a one off I would recommend, but regularly probably not an option without a lottery win.

Seamer fisheries came recommended by a friend and we wasn’t disappointed. The cod was perfect with light batter to complement. The chips were just right too. A chap in the queue had traveled from Scarborough on a cycle just for their fish cakes. If you are in the area on holiday this is well worth a drive out

We used this 'chippy' for the first time recently and I have to say I was impressed. The fish was beautifully cooked and the batter was tasty. The chips were also nicely cooked and not at all greasy. The service was quick and friendly so all in all a good experience and we will be going back again soon.

Tonight we just fancied fish and chips. So off I went to the best Fish and Chip shop, in, or around Scarborough. We had Cod and Chips, a carton of curry and a carton of mushy peas! Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Have been wanting to try this fish shop for a long time and finally managed it. Was not disappointed, the fish was top notch, fresh and beautifully cooked. Thank you so much.

Best fish n chips for miles around

Good fish and chip shops are increasingly hard to find but make no mistake this isn't just a good chippy it's more of a great one! In a time where the word traditional is used by the masses in terms of marketing their chip shop. The reality is few seldom are traditional and able to offer really top notch quality and fresh products like this chippy does. The Yorkshire coast is primarily Haddock territory. Though this chippy offers both and both are excellent, really excellent! The batter is light but crisp. The fish both Haddock & Cod flawless the chips utterly superb having just the right amount of crunch whilst not being soggy or sharp respectively. The value was excellent and the mushy peas as good as I can ever remember having! They even use real proper vinegar you can actually taste and the service was exemplary! Beef dripping to fry in and whilst the fish was frozen at sea, you'd never know that it wasn't fresh instead of frozen at sea they are that good! Highly recommended the food, staff and it's open Sunday tea time from 4 o'clock. I'm going to award this place my very own accolade of excellence. I just couldn't fault it at all. Blinding chippy I highly recommend you go and discover it yourself. I guarantee you will not be disappointed! 6 stars all the way from me for this chippy!!!!!!

Very welcoming staff, took our order in no time, our food was cooked fresh. The meal was really tasty and we left nothing for the dog 😁 Only open until 8pm on Saturday.

Portions good but had run out of peas well before closing time on a Friday night!

Sunday night tea with wife and my Dad. Absolutely lovely and couldn't fault it. Definitely will visit against.
