Wonderful place we came here for my granddaughter Emily 15th birthday lunch. The first time I visited was September 2014 with my caravan and Emily after her first few weeks at school. Holly today you made it special for me again . I have enjoyed how your family have survived lockdown to be who they are today.

Had a lovely time in this Italian restaurant great atmosphere very friendly service and food was delicious especially my pistachio ice cream. Highly recommend this place.
Really tasty food on the main menu - have eaten lunch here before, dinner this time. Informal warm atmosphere. Avoid busy pizza time on Friday eve - unless you want pizza!
First family visit to Dan’s. We all ordered fillet steaks which was served beautifully presented, however most of our fillet steaks, apart from one, were chewy, on tough side, and one was very fatty, not tender like a fillet should be. Mine came medium cooked (pink) instead of well done! Only one fillet was fine.
Let staff know, had complimentary coffees, didn’t want to make a fuss but disappointed with experience unfortunately!
Just off the A303 this restaurant is part of a new factory that makes brushes. There is a museum and shop and lovely restaurant offering a good range of meals. Somewhere different with easy access and parking. Well worth a try.
Quite the best roast beef and spuds ever. Despite our amateur hour with booking the wrong Bell and Crown 🤣🤣 they managed to find us a table on an already very busy afternoon. Friendly staff, fabulous food, superb atmosphere. No wonder it’s our favourite pub in the area. Oh and their sister pub in Hindon too.
We were regular customers at the Toran before it changed its name and live locally.
We popped in early on a Friday evening to order a takeaway and despite there being no one in the restaurant at all, we were told it would be 30 mins.
As we live locally, we popped home and then returned half an hour later to pick up our food. It wasn’t ready, so we waited another 15 minutes or so. No problem at this stage until we discovered that our takeaway had been given to another customer who had taken it home!
The front of house staff member was completely ineffective and tried unsuccessfully to contact the other customer to bring our food back. He then ignored us for about 10 minutes while looking for yet another customers order.
At this stage, we asked for our food to be recooked, to be told it would be another half an hour wait.
By this time, we had had enough and we asked for a refund but were told it could only be refunded to the card that paid for it - this was now at home!
Another of our party drove back out to the restaurant with the card for the refund, to arrive and be told that they had recooked our order. It was blatantly obvious that our original order had been returned and had been reheated.
Eventually, we were given a refund but in cash this time, and from the wallet of the front of house member of staff as he couldn’t work the card machine.
We rang another takeaway as we left the stone burner, drove to Warminster and it was ready when we arrived and cost significantly less!
I am afraid that the stone burner has lost a local customer. Poor service.
I really can’t understand how this pub is receiving positive reviews. Our mother moved to the village two years ago, and we were excited to have a local pub nearby. Unfortunately, it has so much untapped potential but falls short in almost every area. The food is overpriced and mediocre at best, the kitchen struggles to handle multiple orders at once, and the staff are dismissive when you dare to complain. Charging £4 for a bowl of four chips because they’re “hand-peeled and cut” feels like a rip-off, as does the £50 price tag for three takeout pizzas.
After swearing never to return, we decided to give the pub another chance with the news of new management. We took our mother there for an early Mother’s Day lunch, but after nearly an hour of waiting, we asked how much longer it would be—only to be met with eye rolling and snarky responses. When the food finally arrived, it was either burnt (my daughter’s chicken burger) or missing basic elements (my chicken supreme had no sauce). My mother’s meal came with tiny, bland potato pearls that were frankly laughable.
It was yet another disappointing experience, and this time we won’t be returning. The only positive part of our visit was the shift change, which introduced a friendly, competent staff member who offered us our desserts for free. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to make up for the terrible experience.
We tried the restaurant for lunch and were not disappointed. The food was good and the staff was very nice and friendly. Great coffee and free limoncello.
