We (myself, husband, our newborn, 2 family members and their 2 children) stopped at the Bath Arms after a lovely walk around shearwater. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. The service was unbelievably wonderful, very chatty and attentive. As for the food, wow! The food was incredible and very generous with the portions. We had fish and chips, plus pizzas and the puddings were unreal, all for a reasonable price. We will definitely be returning.

I don’t often review food, as rarely notable and exceptional. However, the overall meal experience here was fantastic, but the lamb was on another level and was the most tender I have ever had - real ‘melt-in-the-mouth’ quality. The other individuals in our group were equally impressed with their steak. The staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgable. We need to go back to sample some of the other items!

Initial impression on arrival was that there were plenty of friendly, attentive, well-trained staff. We ate 8 different items on the interesting and varied menu, and agreed that it would be hard to say how any of them might be improved. The pub has recently been developed to a high standard, without losing any of its original period character; and there is further development of outdoor areas underway that will make this pub very appealing as Summer gets underway. I recommend that anyone give The Bath Arms a go, we shall certainly return. Well done Ellie, our server!

I came here on a first date and when I cut into my chicken kiev it was still raw. I spoke to the waitress and they cooked me another so I sat and waited whilst my date finished his entire meal. 20 minutes later I got my chicken kiev. They were very apologetic and kind about it but I was put off the chicken! The worst part was when we went to pay they'd just given us a free drink. I was too embarrassed to argue with it being a first date. Luckily I didn't get ill but it could have been very different! Perhaps if they'd at least given me the meal free I wouldnt be leaving the negative review and hopefully this helps someone in the future.

Just tried the Bath Arms for the first time since it re-opened. Wow what a lovely pub. Three cosy rooms - a bar/bar food room, a snug, and a restaurant room. All warm and inviting. Attentive knowledgable friendly and engaging staff. Were aware of the food intolerance we mentioned when booking and had a marked up menu ready for us showing what would or would not be suitable. Great drinks and great food all at a great price. It sounds like I’m being paid to write this but honestly I’m not, I’m just a very satisfied customer. If we lived closer we would be here regularly. For those who live in or near Warminster or staying at Centre Parks it’s a must-do. I’m sure it will be great in the summer too with outside tables available. All round a great experience!

The food here is fantastic, best pub food in the area by some margin. Interesting menu with regular changes, good portions (always full after a meal there) and the bar snacks are great for adding to your meal or having instead of starters/sides. The service is good and has improved notably since it reopened as the staff find their rhythm. Very accommodating on our last visit with tweaks to dishes accommodated. Good selection of local ales too, discovered my new favourite from Stone Daisy recently, hope it stays on rotation! As a few other reviews have mentioned it could benefit from a few soft furnishings and extra finishing touches but I'm sure this will come with time. I'm happy they've prioritised the food quality in the reopening because it really is great.

This refurbished pub deserves to suceed, when so many country pubs have closed. BUT, they haven't got the atmosphere right. Sombre dark painted walls, a distinct lack of soft furnishings and flag stone floors. There are small rooms, off of small rooms and in winter, it's just not warm enough, despite two log burning stoves. The food was good with generous portion sizes. Service was attentive and to friendly staff. There is plentiful outdoor seating, which we will try in the warmer months.

Game Pie with Mash and Cabbage, beautifully presented, full of flavour and so appropriate on such a cold day. The whole pub has been transformed, after many years being closed for refurbishment by new owners. It’s a great location (so many local walks and bike trails) but the food is the real draw. The game pie and mash are to die for, but there isn’t a single dish I’ve eaten here that was poor. My only gripe would be that the portion sizes are on the small side - I’d gladly pay a pound or two more and feel like I was getting a generous serving of sides, for example. But the quality of the food is stunning, so hats off to the kitchen. Service is OK, but the quality of food deserves to be paired with more attentive staff, in my opinion. The atmosphere is probably the weakest element - there is very little in the way of soft furnishings, and the layout of the pub is verging on claustrophobic, with small rooms off small rooms. Though there’s nothing they can do about room sizes; with nothing but hard wooden chairs, tables and tiles everywhere you look, it’s quite an austere experience and conversations quickly become echoey. Chuck some cushions, thick curtains and niknaks around, and hire more attentive staff, and this would be one of the best pubs in Wiltshire.

Service was poor! Food was great, albeit on the pricey side, but the quality and portion sizes were fantastic. Unfortunately the kitchen is severely let down by the front of house staff. This may be because we were seated in a separate room to the rear since other people mention the staff being very attentive. Upon arriving we were sat and given menus, when asked what drinks we would like, i asked what ales were on tap, the response was 'Lots' followed by a blank stare, so i went to the bar to see for myself. There were 3 ales, surely not too many to remember! We also asked for 2 glasses of merlot, a couple of minutes later i was advised they don't sell merlot by the glass, but they have Malbec instead, that's fine. Another 5 minutes pass before they then tell me they don't have any Malbec, I was starting to get bored by this point so just asked a bottle of the merlot, and was instead given a bottle of Malbec! After returning to the table with our drinks, our food orders were then taken, and no issues here at all, food was brilliant, nice rare beef, succulent porchetta with crispy crackling, praise all round from our table. Unfortunately no one came to check how the food was so we didn't have an opportunity to ask for some table water, so another trip to the bar to ask. Politely mentioned to the manger that it would have been good to not have to come and ask, to which he was very grateful to be told this, as apparently so may people just leave bad reviews instead, but then he still didn't bring us any water!! 20 minutes after finishing the meal there was no sign of any staff again, so i went to the bar to ask for the bill, this was bought out fairly promptly. but after another 10-15 minutes it was clear there was card machine coming, so yet another trip the bar to pay. The staff are all very young and green, which is no problem if they a good manager to lead and train them, unfortunately this is sorely missing, instead he just flaps around. I expect a newly opened venue to have some teething issues, but they have been open for 4 months, so the service really should be up to speed by now

Drinks were decent, and initial impressions were good. Unfortunately, after ordering food, the order was forgotten about and it took over an hour for it to arrive. It wasn't busy so it was strange for that to happen. When the food arrived, it was overcooked and slightly burnt. It also took a while for condiments to arrive, and so most of the food was already eaten by the time they did. I would have expected either better service or a small compensation for making the party wait unnecessarily.

Exceptional food. I got the feeling this may have recently opened (re-opened?). Food we ate was great and all the meals that we saw looked superb. Waiting staff seemed VERY new. Had to send the bill back as it was a little inaccurate, but it was corrected promptly and with an apology. Once the staff have a bit more experience this will be an amazing gastro pub.

A lovely pub which by all accounts is popular with the locals especially on curry nights. Service with a smile and had a lovely chat with chef. We opted for the full Sunday lunch and I have to say,

They don’t allow people with disabilities in that pub especially if they need the toilet I wouldn’t recommend that pub to anyone

Last minute Sunday roast carvery booking. They squeezed us in at 4pm, and there were still a considerable number of other customers there when we arrived. The staff were really friendly and welcoming,
