Visited again this week and enjoyed a great evening of excellent hospitality. One of the party has an intolerance and the menu had been marked up on arrival to highlight dishes to avoid - thank you. We all really enjoyed every dish and dessert ordered, drinks were promptly refreshed and service was perfect.

Great overnight stay. Perfect location just off the A 303 and halfway between London and Devon. Very comfortable bed and spacious room with good facilities - perticularly liked being given a flask with fresh milk to accompany tea/coffee. Breakfast available from 0730 and cooked breakfast included in B&B price - and a very good breakfast it was. All in all, a most enjoyable experience.

Had a lovely Sunday Lunch. We had extra roast potatoes at no extra cost and extra gravy. They were a bit mean with the gravy. The Yorkshire was enormous and the leeks in cheese sauce were delicious. The beef was a bit pink for my liking, but it wasn't overdone! Best of all were: the wonderful ambience, with a roaring fire lit on a chilly September day, the superb home-made bread brought at the start, and the friendly service. Quite an expensive Sunday lunch at £22. 00, but worth it really. It will be a lovely holiday memory. The fire made it, I have to say.

I stayed overnight here with my auntie. I was really impressed with our stay. I loved the cosy decor; candles, fireplace etc and the tables were set out beautifully! The staff were very friendly & polite. The food was amazing! We had dinner; Starters being chorizo eggs - gorgeous! Then the lamb roast, which was honestly the best lamb I have had for years. The breakfast was also great; there was a variety of option's whether you wanted a cooked breakfast, a healthy option or just a croissant to go. The little touches were also very cute; cookie on arrival in the room.

A lovely pub, with great food and real atmosphere. We came on the quiz night and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The stand-out element was the staff, who were all incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing as well. The only minor issue for us (which brought it down to 4 stars), was the road noise. The room we stayed in faced the road and was incredibly noisy during the night. The front facing rooms would really benefit from secondary glazing. We'd certainly stay again, but not in a road facing room.

This is a fantastic place to stay on the way down to the Devon or Cornwall - just off the A303. Needed to break the journey d from London due to jet lag and so booked a room here. Lovely ambience, staff all excellent and the room was very good - large and clean. Some nice touches such as freshly baked cookies on arrival. Breakfast was excellent - a continental buffet and hot food cooked to order. Overall, an exceptional stay - thank you

This is such a great pub and restaurant which I believe has recently changed hands. We arrived for a 2.00pm reservation and finally got our first course at 3.30!! Both tables near us who had arrived after us were served before us and the rather unapologetic waitresses said that the kitchen had been 'overwhelmed'. Late Sunday lunch, I don't think that is much of an excuse. The food which finally arrived was quite good, but no more than average Sunday roasts. This is a great shame as one of the sister pubs in Broadchalke which we went to a week ago was excellent, swift charming service and delicious food.

The Grosvenor Arms is a gem in the stable of the Chickpea Group and my love affair with it deepens every visit. The staff here are absolutely first class. Greeted warmly by Kit who seemed to anticipate my choice of drink, the bedroom was excellent, the cocktails nail bitingly good and the food outstanding. When Kit was off the lovely Emily supervised breakfast with her normal charm and kindness. It is the staff that make this extraordinary pub and in Emily and Kit they make a great pair. The Chickpea group describes itself as a family of country boozers with rooms + a pizza shop. Based on my experience at the The Grosevenor Arms in Hindon this Easter weekend I will never stay or eat in one again. The website is inaccurate (the beds are double not king) and what we were told on the phone was totally incorrect even down to the bedroom number we were being assigned. The dinners we had on both our nights there were shockingly poor and much was left on our plates. The establishment is extremely uncomfortable (one hard chair only in the room albeit plenty of space for two) and nowhere downstairs to sit if one did not want to prop up the bar on a bar stool. The management is very poor indeed and it was all too obvious why all types of staff were being advertised for including a chef willing to stay more than 3 months! My strong recommendation is to avoid. There are many other places to stay in the area.

The pub is cozy and welcoming. We had drinks the first night and then booked for food the second night. Again the welcome was warm, but the food was average, a tad disappointing as the place is vibrant. It’s expensive for what you get and only 175ml of wine glass option.

This break was fated before it began as the Marketing Manager was so unhelpful to our unexpected but unprecedented situation a week in advance of the stay. Most hotels, but not this, would have been much more eager to help. There are absolutely no revisions accepted in any circumstances however life changing- BEWARE !! Like many pubs, the transition from pub to hotel was troubled by noise from bar and road traffic on main road immediately below our window, bedroom space and comfort, scaffolding everywhere and unbelievably steep and badly lit stairs Poor breakfast content and attention The room was not fully attended to each day which was very surprising No close-by car park, only an "overflow car park" Food was OK but pretentious and very expensive. with a hefty 12.5% included (but withdrawable) tip This was definitely not a place we would visit again

Very good lunch. We had booked in for lunch on our way down to Devon. So we didn’t eat much. My wife had the liver and I had haddock and chips: the fist was fresh and the batter outstanding. Best I have had in a long time: crispy and not greasy. Very generous portions! My wife had cooked peaches for dessert and she said they were lovely. Pint of beer and a glass of wine - £47. Pretty good value for the quality. Very friendly staff and good atmosphere. I had roast lamb dinner and the rest of the group had roasts but with beef or chicken. All enjoyed their meal and we we didn't have to wait ages for it. We booked two rooms for my wife, three kids and myself as we fancied a night away seeing as though we hadn't had a holiday this year with Covid. Very impressed. Rooms are large and spotlessly clean. The in room tea and coffee are the best I've had (Teapigs and ground coffee). We also ate our evening meal there and it was gorgeous. A small menu but everything was perfectly cooked and really delicious. The thing that really impressed us is that my wife has Coeliac disease and so she has to be gluten free. They were really good at dinner, pointing out all the food my wife could eat and making adjustments to the menu where gluten containing ingredients could be removed. Even better, for breakfast they also had gluten free toast, which we were not expecting, but was really appreciated. The staff are all really friendly too, and the service was impeccable. One thing to note is that this is an historic building so is single-glazed and it is is on a surprising-busy road for a village location. Not a criticism at all (you can hardly blame the owners for location!) and it was fine for us. But if you are sensitive to noise you may just want to bear this in mind.In all this was a thoroughly enjoyable stay at a lovely, friendly place.

Second time at The Grosvenor Arms and I was hugely impressed once again. Had the haddock scotch egg for starters as hadn’t stopped thinking about it since my last visit. For main I finally got to try one of the steak and bone marrow pies - I was not disappointed. Even more impressed that it came with a decent portion of mash and veggies.

The new management have transformed in the last year or two. Well done. An excellent and interesting menu. I had liver, cooked pink to perfection, not often found on menus these days, it was delicious. The service was good and friendly. I will go back when I’m in the area.

This pub, formally known as The Angel, has accomodation , food and well kept beer. Off road parking and close to the A303. A good place to stay for Stonehenge, Salisbury and as a stop on the way West.

What an incredible and humble pub from start to finish located in a lovely quiet village in Hindon. Me and my partner had some time off and heard that The Grosvenor Arms was a new renovated pub with character so we decided to have dinner and stay the night during our travels.

I eat and stayed at the pub on New Year's Eve, where it was very busy with a fabulous atmosphere. The food was absolutely incredible and the staff could not have been more attentive or do more for us. There was some amazing live music which really got the crowds into the party spirit. The room was also wonderfully clean and cosy and I will certainly be returning. A great team, keep up the good work!

We came for Sunday Lunch - loved the warm reception from the friendly staff and what a fantastic ambience! Delicious Sunday roast with all the trimmings, decent beer and the staff can certainly pour a great Guinness. All superstars, we’ll be back soon.

As above. Interesting and very clean room set on a 'chocolate box' village. The staff were lovely and helpful. James

Fantastic find! Was looking for a traditional pub near the A303 while heading to Exeter for Christmas and stumbled on this lovely place. Great bar space, a chimney awaiting a sweep, different sized tables to suit all group sizes, free nut roast or Turkey sausage rolls and a Bloody Mary with all the trimmings, including large celery stick. Brilliant, will be back.

Looking for somewhere open quickly for a stop off in way to devon, lovely staff, roaring fires, calm and chilled, amazing cod scorch egg and rare bit, shame we are on our way to family for massive dinner otherwise we would have had one if the great looking roasts. Much more welcoming than lamb where we tried to go first. Only reason it's a 4* is they didn't have a disabled loo or baby changing. Plan to stop there on way back!

We stopped here overnight en route to Cornwall - wow what a find and glad we did !! A really warm welcome from the barman Hector and a beautifully decorated pub. A new young team who have recently taken it on apparently - great menu great food good ales and wine list all sensibly priced. Room 1 was a big one really comfy warm with everything you need and a great breakfast to start the day. Any downsides ?? Yep just the one .... Shame we don’t live in Hindon - they have a gem of a local here !! We will definitely be stopping here again. Good luck you guys !!

I regularly stay in the area for work, on this occasion I was staying opposite the Grosvenor Arms at the Lamb. Despite using the rooms and breakfast offering at the Lamb, I rarely eat their in the evenings due to its lacklustre food offering and have been using the Beckford Arms to eat in the evening's for my last few trips.

We had a lovely stay at the Grosvenor Arms. I was there for a few nights with my parents visiting family. Its a cosy, comfortable and homely place in the heart of a quaint English village.

Great to see a new team come in and refresh without ripping out and telling locals how it should be done. Sympathetic and sensible is the approach. A great menu, with a range of dishes to satisfy the shooting party or the classics seeker. We have eaten several dishes and all have stood up well in terms of what you would be happy to have on your plate plate.

The huge lit fireplace as soon as you walk into the pub makes this place the perfect country pub for food and drink. The staff are so friendly and happy to help. The food was honestly fantastic. My table had the bubble and squeak, bone marrow soldiers, chilli salted peppers, haddock scotch eggs, aubergine, venison burger and puy lentil cottage pie - each one 10/10! Will definitely be recommending to my friends and family.

The Angel (as it was previously known) always had so much potential and what the new owners have done with the place proves it. A fantastic beer list, friendly and engaging staff and the food absolutely blew me away!

Set in the quaint and charming village of Hindon the The Grosvenor Arms , now under new management is an attractive and welcoming pub with superb food , beers and a well thought out wine list. The interior has a real traditional country feel to it while holding the modern aspects of a high class eatery. I recently visited with my family of 5 and the staff were excellent and the food sublime.

This place is pushing the boundaries in all the right directions. For a local pub, the ambience is spot on. There is always a fire lit. The food is experimental and of exceptional standard. I would highly recommend a trip to the Grosvenor Arms before Jay Rayner gets there first.

Brought the wife and kids here after a meander through the local country side and was blown away. We always enjoyed The Angel as a family and were a little apprehensive about the change of hands, but it has gone from good to excellent.

As above, we popped in on way through Hindon. The pub has recently been taken over by new management, and the has reverted to its old name. It was a chilly day and there was a great fire going in the inglenook, which is always a welcoming feeling. We just had a couple of pints and some sandwiches, including a crab rarebit which were top quality. It was pretty busy, and listening to the comments of guests who were coming to the bar to pay for their lunches, everyone was pretty happy.

The Bradley Hare is an elegant enterprise but tends to cater for diners and private parties rather than dog walkers looking for a pint and a sandwich; indeed the lunchtime snack menu is almost non existent. On occasions the bar closes completely to facilitate private functions. In short, the Bradley Hare is perhaps more of a "restaurant with rooms" rather than a traditional hostelry.

Stopped on a trip from Cinderford to Romsey , have driven past many times but never had time to stop, husband and son had ‘small ‘ breakfast and I had toast and jam, the breakfast was a great size, quickly served and tasted great, really good value for money . Toilets and rest of premises are really clean and can’t wait to visit again

Ok so Lynne and I are back at The New Inn with friends having yet another superb meal. We have now eaten here a few times and I feel I should commend the staff and the chef ( who we found out his name was Ronnie ) very nice touch when he comes out of the kitchen personally to ask if everything is ok. Once again superb service and our friends also commented on how lovely this superb pub/restaurant is. Even when we pop in for a snack Pizza that is just superb. Well done all at The New Inn. we certainly will be back and so will our friends. You guys deserve to do well as you always go the extra mile. Thank you, so refreshing in this day and age . We will be booking for a meal again l this Saturday night with some more friends. all the very best Ian & Lynne
