Went here for a Sunday morning breakfast and certainly wasn't disappointed. Quality and quantity was great, the home made hash browns were the best I have had. Will definitely have to go back a few times as when I looked at other peoples plates I just thought oh wow , I want that as well

Excellent garden centre. Quality and variety brilliant. Cafe very nice, inside and outside seating. Lovely food. Gets busy though and parking can be tricky at times. Back again today after a few weeks. As good as ever on food and likely the very best plant display around this way!

Really good cream tea and a very good price as well at £6.50..... only reason I've taken one star off is because you only get one scone and it is absolutely huge with a result that you are unable to eat it with any degree of daintiness.....the only option then is to cut your scone into four and as it's so crumbly everything gets a bit of a mess.... I would have also preferred the scone without any sultanas in it because it makes it exceptionally sweet. 6/24.... Second visit today and had a coronation chicken sandwich and ploughman's sandwich...... I found the ploughman's rather strange because the bread had been toasted and the coronation chicken sandwich had poppadoms and chutney in it, which is totally weird...... As for an iced coffee latte and a coffee latte. All I can say was that the coffee was very very acidic and unpleasant and we were unable to finish it.....£34 for two sandwiches and two coffees......

Just popped in to take some cake for later.would definitely recommend get there early as it is very busy also plant selection is worth looking around.

My Mum and I visit most Saturdays for lunch and I can’t recommend Avonfield enough. We first visited and had afternoon tea which was gorgeous. We recently had family come visit us and we took them out to Avonfield for breakfast and they all loved it.

After tasting the food here I totally get why it is so busy and popular. The Vegan/Vegetarian options are absolutely spot on. I had poached eggs, avocado and a gorgeous tomato salsa. Lovely home made cakes and all are reasonably priced. There are tables inside and outside but I'd get here early as it does get very busy. You can then walk off your food around the garden centre. I'll definitely be coming back.. 🍰

First time here at lunchtime, very busy as usual My wife had the Twanger Cheddar toastie I had the Club Sandwich, wow ! Probably the best Club Sandwich I have had in many years, full of tasty bacon & chunks of chicken with the usual tomato lettuce etc It was a plateful As I have said you don't go hungry here Well done We will be back !

We love Avonfield, the food is incredible and the service is second to none. Kimmi and Amy are the best front of house team, as well as the other guys who work there! The menu is really high quality, we miss the bagels but still love the choice you give! The cakes are beautiful!

Excellent food! Be sure to get there when you can as you may have to wait for a table and the car park was full (this was a regular Saturday morning in March).

Really surprised at the negative reviews, we've been here ample times and love the food. It's hard to find good and tasty veggie/vegan food in Trowbridge but we always have a great meal here! The mushroom on toast was the best we've had for sure, and the hash stacks are amazing. Love that this is in an all-independent cafe, in lovely surroundings. The fact they've upsized the dining area and that it's almost always rammed when we go - is testament to their success!

Outstanding food, excellent sercice

Avonfield Kitchen is such an amazing café... It's pretty much impossible to find anywhere in the area that compares! 😍 My friend and I shared pancakes today from their special pancake day menu. The staff and chefs were so accommodating and even adapted one of the recipes to suit my friend who is vegan but doesn't like banana. The spinach, savoury pancakes were our favourite and should definitely be added to the main menu, or at least become a regular special! 🤤 Thank you so much Becky, Jake, Kimmi, Sam and the rest of the gang... You're smashing it! ✨

Lovely place to visit, the garden centre is beautiful and the food and coffee is delicious. The staff friendly, helpful and efficient. Thoroughly enjoyable.

What a gem! Much more unusual breakfasts than the usual full English or 'eggs and avocado' offerings. All breakfasts come with additional ingredients for full impact flavour, ie salsa verde and tomato chutney. It is more expensive but still really good value for money considering the quality of the food. Nice staff, efficient service and amazing looking cakes. Was busy and therefore rather noisy, but still a great experience.

Update on previous reviews as portion sizes no longer justify the prices charged. Lovely place and friendly staff and If you value quality then it's great. But the portions and quality have both come down a star or two. It's annoying when you pay up front expecting what you've had previously only to be disappointed when the food arrives. I've added another photo to show the difference in size and quality. It's worth noting in response to the reply to this review, that I did mention these issues to the waiter who simply said he'd pass on my comments to the chef. So an opportunity to address this was provided to staff.

Visited today, 25/1/24 for afternoon tea for two (a Christmas treat from our daughter). Now I'm not a fan of the normal afternoon tea as I find the mix of finger sandwiches & tiny cakes a case of more style than content. But this was not that and it was lovely! We had a choice of sandwiches, scones (with suitable accompaniments), and cakes from any of the freshly made cakes available. And the staff were really friendly and courteous. So much nicer and definitely recommended!

A lovely cafe within a very good garden centre. We had an afternoon tea, so different from other afternoon teas I have had. You can choose your sandwiches and cake, + 3 choices of scone. Service was excellent such friendly and professional staff.

Lovely setting with friendly and capable staff. Disappointed there wasn't a vegan version of the full English breakfast and all the vegan dishes include avocado (locally sourced?!) which I can't eat so had to have a meal without the avocado but it was substituted with a few extra mushrooms. Would prefer no background music.

Nice and chill cafe for breakfast and brunch. Great food, great coffee. It's always busy on the weekend though sometimes it's hard to find a place to sit on weekends brunch time.

Delightful find for mum and I, will return in the Spring to buy plants too

Update 18/12/23 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not been here for a couple of years - even though it's not exactly far away. Delightful breakfast - different to my last visit, but in a good way. Veggie breakfast was filling, and food value for money - just a couple of larger mushrooms, not the pile I had previously 😀. Was very busy for 10.30am so if you want to get fed, get there early. Staff were friendly and polite, what more do you need! Original review: Had a very early breakfast the other day, and was really impressed by the food that appeared. If I was to make a small criticism, the veggie breakfast was lovely but way too many mushrooms! Maybe half the amount and add an egg? Vegan bacon? If you're there, or nearby, do eat here as what we had was lovely.

Wonderful food and great service as always! I have visited a couple of times but havent had the chance to write a review. I visited with a friend today and the food was delicious as always. Nothing is too much trouble and I love their take on breakfast. The staff are always so kind and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. You cant leave without trying one of their beautiful cakes or having one as a take away. Cant wait to visit again soon.

Breakfast sandwich (choice of 2 fillings) was totally lacklustre. Dry thin bread with very basic filling. No way worth the £8 price tag. Sorry really not impressed today

Such a cosy atmosphere and outstanding food! Me and my girlfriend often share mains and when we ordered one meal between two they brought it on two separate plates and had gone to the trouble of presenting them beautifully! Highly recommend ❤

My friend and I enjoyed a delicious Afternoon Tea for two (a birthday present from my daughter) and we couldn’t fault it. Lovely sandwiches, scones, cakes and tea and we were stuffed! And despite my voucher being only just ‘in date’ and worth less than the current price, Kimmi very kindly honoured it anyway. We will definitely be returning next year!!

A lovely area, shame toilets are not great for older folk and out in the cold . Big pots of tea nice but really needs a couple more tea bags as like dish water. And the toasted current bun was full of air and wasnt really toasted well. Waste of money. But couldnt say as there was a huge que of people waiting to be served who were getting abit huffy. Sorry but if your going to charge £.3.50 for a hollow current bun and wishy washy tea for almost £10, then it needs to be better. That was supposed to be my treat after being ill for 3 weeks. The butter is nice.

Loveliest staff, especially today. No trouble at all and so helpful when my toddler spilt my hot chocolate everywhere! They were very kind and it was so touching. Goes without mentioning that the food and drink is amazing, desserts are fresh,creative and so unique! And did I mention delicious? The setting is heavenly. My toddler happily runs through the flowers and foliage as if she were in heaven. Maybe a little picnic garden and some hammocks then we could stay even longer.

Best cafe around with amazing food and coffee, in a fab location!

It was a busy Saturday morning but they coped pretty well and the coffee and cake were both excellent. It's a nice environment surrounded by plants, though some signs pointing the way to the café would be useful.

Clearly a very busy place but incredibly disorganised, no management, poorly trained staff although friendly enough. Take payment for breakfast and then tell me it’s a 30 minute wait… again down to poor management and poor training. Had to clear our own table and then ask for it to be wiped down first before food came out. Only plus side was the food was as delicious as what I had seen for many months on Instagram. Sadly not enough to make me go back. Address the cleanliness as very questionable practises in use and get organised for those busy rushes - better management required!

Great place for coffee and light snacks

It's hard to find a breakfast place around Bradford on Avon which ticks all the boxes. Avonfield Kitchen ticks them all. Don't let its unassuming and out-of-the-way location near Trowbridge deceive you - this place packs out as soon as it opens so get here early. I guaranteed whether you are a meat-eater, a veggie or a vegan, you will spend ages mulling your options. I eventually went for the "Eggs and Avocado" - smashed avo with lime/coriander, 2 perfectly poached eggs, delicious tomato salsa and an extra topping of smoked salmon. It came in a very generous heap and every mouthful was delicious and fresh-tasting. The Americano coffee also tasted very fresh. Service was a little slow but it was a Sunday morning and they were very busy. Anyway who minds waiting when you're chatting to a friend and surrounded by the beautiful greenery in the Nursery garden centre. Next time I will cycle there from BoA. And next time I will treat myself to one of their amazing looking cakes as well. Highly recommended.

Although the food is very nice indeed the cost of two cheese sandwiches with salad, one coronation chicken sandwich with salad, one cordial drink and two cappuccino coffees for a total of over £37 seems rather excessive

Lovely quiet cafe to sit in or take away. Nice selection of home made cakes, nice selection of food. The sandwiches came with a very generous serving of salad. The ploughman's was very generous, having cheese & ham. Excellent value for money, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Can't recommend enough.

We’ve never been here before, our grandson was visiting from California, we were lunching with our friends and took him with us, we will definitely be going again it was lovely, food was great the staff were friendly and efficient, I had chicken ceasar which was yummy, my grandson had smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel which he said was the best, my husband and dear friend had the ploughman’s which was enormous and simply scrumptious, lastly her husband had tart of the day which he assured us was delicious we will definitely be coming back ?’b

A fantastic nursery and very good food.

This is a very busy tea room come cafe place within The Nursery in Hilperton. We decided to walk around yesterday to get something to eat but, having arrived at 15.10, discovered most things were stopped as the kitchen closed at 3pm.Drinks, cakes etc. are still available though so we had tea for two, teacakes and fruit scones with jam and cream, which were very nice. Whether it was because of the time of day or just "busyness" I don't know, but the lad who took my order was efficient but not what I'd call friendly. In all honesty, given the reviews, I expected better. I think this could be applied to all the staff on yesterday to be honest. Everything arrived speedily and we certainly weren't rushed, but there's just something about the whole experience I didn't really enjoy and, for that reason, wouldn't go back I'm sorry to say.

Fantastic staff, food, and venue. Visited here for a mooch around. You could really spend a fortune at the nursery. However, you could just come for some delicious cake and a tasty milkshake. Brilliant service and excellent value for mone. Definitely worth a visit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Excellent cafe for meeting up with friends for a lovely lazy Sunday's breakfast. There's a wide choice of food from a full English to muffins with egg, avocado, sour cream and bacon. I had an egg and bacon sandwich. There are also always delicious fresh cakes as well as cream teas. The cafe is always clean and the staff pleasant and helpful.

We chose this on recommendation. It was close to the marina The breakfast was absolutely lovely. The place its self was in the middle of a thriving garden centre. Beautiful. The service was really good and prompt. Very smart, clean and tidy. We had kids with us and they were very helpful. Wonderful end to our holiday

This is a lovely café set within a garden centre. The cakes and coffee are excellent and I never really know what to have - too much to choose from! Breakfasts here are good too. There is a mix of seating, blending between indoors and outdoors, so you can find somewhere just right. It’s also nice to wander around the garden centre afterwards and browse the plants. I buy herbs here for the kitchen and they’ve all flourished in the garden at home so far. My friend and I have even done a bit of ‘bird spotting’ here. Sightings so far include buzzards, a sparrow hawk, chiffchaff, red kites, and a very friendly local robin - he doesn’t need any cake!

100% reccomened this cafe. Over the years it has just got better and better. The staff there are amongst the friendliest I know

Never again! I've visited this place twice now. The second time was against my better judgement to be honest, as the first time I visited with family, the teenage front of house staff mysteriously forgot my order (but not the rest of the family's...) Anyway, on this visit, I went to the counter to order (that's right, no table service!) only to be told that my children couldn't have hash browns on their own. I would need to order a "stack". Now I don't know about you, but I would have thought a so-called family friendly cafe would be a little more flexible for children. Disappointing. Very disappointing. Again. The owner's response (below) in which she says, "Swearing in the cafe on departure and taking a picture of our sign to post on here hopefully gave you some level of satisfaction" is completely inaccurate, but I imagine it gives her some level of satisfaction to make it appear as though I was rude and insufferable. However, despite my frustration, my actual utterance was, "Unbelievable! Right, we'll go somewhere else!". I did take a picture of the restaurant sign, as the alternative was a picture of the car park.

Visited for brunch Bank Holiday Monday and it was packed! Fab food. Had the hashbrown stack and brioche bun, both delicious and packed with flavour. Staff were polite and food was pretty quick given how busy it was.

I had a lovely brunch breakfast yesterday but unfortunately my friend’s gluten free breakfast wasn’t gluten free as she reacted very quickly & her digestion will suffer for a couple of weeks! We did tell the girl who was in charge & who was apologetic but I don’t think she understood the seriousness of the situation! Shame
