Unfortunately the price is a problem but the food is very good. The prices are no fault of this establishment it's the ridiculous prices we are all having to cope with. A fish and chips meal is now a luxury

Handed over 2 twenty pound notes by mistake, and was immediately told by the man serving. The food was cooked fresh and good. Must give 5 stars for honesty and service.

Have been here a few times now, and the food is excellent! Very good value for money - especially in the current climate! Shame they are only open until 9pm, but you can't have everything!

Lovely chips etc, but won't be going again I'm afraid, as minimum payment on card is £7.50, taking into account a lot of people pay by card today, I'm sure it will put people off. Disgusting!

Had fish & chips there today for the first time. Was not disappointed. Great service too.

I been there thee times now and this time was the worst. Over cooked food and dry chips. And the service of the staff, was cold. They was to busy mucking around.

People there are very polite, always spare me if if 30p off. food is decent, gets cold quite quickly and it's a bit cramped (if busy)

Seriously a large bag of chips will feed a fam of 4 no problems

This use to be my favourite chip shop, wouldn't go elsewhere but sadly the last 3 times the chips have been disgusting. Hard & crispy tasting heated up. We drive all the way over from Paxcroft but not sure where to go now 😢

Found 2 long hairs inside my battered sausage... Phoned to complain to be told noone there has long hair and it can't be from their staff and it could have been from customer simply leaving hair behind on the counter.. Physically made me sick and I couldn't finish my meal. 1* simply for the large portion of chips as it went round 4 of us. Been coming here for years but won't be returning as the hygiene clearly isn't up to standard.

To start with we ALWAYS buy from here. Having bought fish and chips for five this lunchtime, my wife rang this evening to order some chicken and chips for our son only to be told - very rudely - by a bloke (presumably the owner) that it's a fish and chip shop, they don't do chicken and he'd got a 100 people waiting to order. He did ring back with a vain attempt at apologising but 1. Take chicken off your SHOWN menu on Google and 2. with that attitude you're lucky to have ANY customers let alone returning ones.

A polite and friendly service which is usually quite quick too besides good hot fish and chips!

Just had fish and chips. Ordered and waited in car. Freshly cooked fish which was lovely in light batter and small is a good size portion. They even brought it out to the car for us when it was cooked. Definitely will be returning

Star Fish Bar is a takeaway. So happy to they open today. I ordered by phone, COD and chips three times, ten minutes later it was ready to collect. Very good it was too. The cod was excellent, if I was being really picky the chips could have been hotter but maybe it was because the fish was good and hot. Star Fish Bar gets a big thumbs up from me.

Outstanding food, great portions, wide selection, freshly cooked, served hot, hygienic premises.

So I’ve been a loyal customer to Star Fish Bar for a number of years. Always had a good rapport with the owners and the staff. On a recent visit I was presented with a receipt for a transaction that didn’t go through which was six months old. I was told that If I didn’t pay it I would not be welcome back. 1 -it is their responsibility to ensure that goods are paid for and the transaction has gone through. 2- it was a six month old transaction. Take it on the chin and be responsible for your own errors. Very disappointed with the attitude and the way they dealt with this. Can’t fault the food though.

First visit here. Excellent place for a chippy. Great food, great prices. The large chips are ridiculous, probably feed 4 lol. Awesome service & great staff.

Thank goodness they are open again, albeit shorter hours. The fish and chips are excellent and the vegi burgers are just as good, also lovely chips. Just phone in your order and they will tell you how long before you collect. Friendly place.

This is a good, honest chippy. £5.20 for an OAP special, Plenty of chippers, good fish too with mushies. You cannot go wrong for value here. It's right next to a good Chinese to, so the competition must be tough, but they hold their own & customers, like me, go back time & again

It used to be the best fish and chip shop in town but they use old oil this fish and chip shop would get 5 stars if they change their oil regularly

Having been a regular customer of the fish shop for many years I was quite shocked to go in and ask for 2 chicken curries only to be told that the chef would not do them. Could not be bothered. If they don't want to do them, they should take them off the menu. Customer service nil.

After many years of fish & chips here, all good things have to come to an end!! I have noticed many new faces and a massive drop in portion size and quality. My wife has just come back after ordering large Cod and it looked like small. Shame as they were the best around!! Will have to look elsewhere in the future!!

Tonight we took 24 Beaver Scouts around Trowbridge to judge who makes the best chips. We were looking for: Crispiness, fluffiness, value for money and taste. They won on everything but crispiness. With an overall score of 8/10. Additionally they were the most accommodating and the friendliest.
