We were staying in Pickering for a hen party and ordered food from here for 11 people and it was all lovely, no complaints. We were even given a complimentary bottle of wine for the big order.

Me my husband and my son when to the fortune inn chippenham last night the food was delicious we were so impressed and the staff was so very friendly also they served us our food fast enough so no waiting around it was just perfect can't wait to eat there again soon I would definitely give them a five stars if not more vicky mattinson

The fresh new revamped restaurant serves fantastic food and has great informative and helpful staff , it is clean, fresh and a decent place in Chippenham to visit . We will be going back very soon for the food and fabulous menu . A perfect place to meet up with Friends.

Food was delicious and was ready for collection within 20 minutes! The vegetarian options are great which is why we always choose this restaurant. They were happy to make slight changes to a dish we ordered which was brilliant 😊

We hadn’t had Chinese take out in ages so decided to have take away from the fortune inn and I’m glad we did. The service was excellent and the food was delicious and hot. Very happy will order again

Came to order food for takeaway. They said we had to ring up even tho it states no delivery, so we have come out to order and collect. They then proceed to tell us that it will take 2 hours for them to cook a crispy chilli beef and a deep fried squid, with one small rice (“as they are too busy”).Don’t know about anyone else, but I wouldn’t bother opening a restaurant if it takes that long to cook such a small order. Won’t ever be wasting my time on trying this place again. Poor.

First trip to the fortune in. Food was good and reasonable priced. Waiting staff were good considering it was busy.

Visited early on a Saturday evening having booked a table for four. The food and service were both quite exceptional and it is so easy to recommend a visit!

I suspect many people have had a chinese but this establishment is top quality. The food is outstanding. Freshly cooked , pipping hot, flavours to die for. The house special chow mein is utterly wonderful and the scallops with ginger and spring onion is out of this world. Chippenham is lucky to have such an establishment. Staff really pleasant and helpful.

We have been there many times. It is excellently run, even when it us busy, you are served promptly, friendly and the started of food is always the same, very good! It is a standard Chinese restaurant, nothing very unusual but great quality and very tasty dishes. I cannot praise the team who run this enough.

They gave me prawn toast instead of prawn fried rice. When I arrived home and called them, they asked me to drive back to the resturant and return the toast and they will give me the rice. I live 3 miles away from the resturant! Very unhelpful. The food was not very nice. I order a vegetable fried rice and I specifically asked for no eggs in the rice due to allergies and when I received the order there was eggs!Never will I order a take away again from here.

Great family fun day at the Fortune Inn Jamaican food Barbecue Ice cream and candy floss plus face painting. With great live music (Danny and the Randoms) was enjoyed by nearly two hundred people once again Yoko pulled out all the stops to make a great day for all. Terrific.

Had takeaway. As always high quality food, very enjoyable. Friendly staff. You can even have a drink while you wait, but it’s never more than 15 minutes before your food is ready. Hands down THE best Chinese in Chippenham.

I've racked my brains to find a single fault but couldn't. That has to be some kind of miracle in this day and age. Well worth the 44 minute drive to get there

Have eaten in the restaurant before and had an enjoyable meal. Ordered take away this evening, which was just horrible...firstly the chips were well and truly overcooked (most probably reheated from days ago judging by their taste and appearance). We also ordered sweet and sour chicken balls which came WITHOUT sweet and sour sauce, along with thoroughly dried out lemon chicken...just cannot believe how awful the food was. Went in the bin. Absolutely vile is probably a fair description. Won't be returning.

This was not the first time Ive eaten here and as usual a lovely meal. I went with my step son Jason for his Birthday.The staff were very polite and the chinese waitres lovely. The restaurant clean and tidy and part of a public house.The main bar is frequented by locals who are a bit rough and ready but the restarant has its own bar and is much better. Never had a bad meal here.

Found this place on Google and after having read the reviews online I thought I would try it. Being new to the area I have been reading up on places to eat and drink locally. I have to say I am impressed. Its part of a pub and the layout is nice, clean and presentable. I phoned to book for 3 of us at 6pm and when we arrived we were warmly greeted and the man recognized my voice, which is always a nice touch when you go to a place. It was very quiet in the restaurant but I don't mind that. Menu have good choice of traditional food you would tend to find at a Chinese and the staff are friendly. When the food arrived it was lovely and fresh and very tasteful. The bill was reasonable for the 3 of us and I will definitely be coming back here again.

We both travelled 80 miles to meet Dad on Father’s Day. It was worth the trip. Really friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Food really good. Fresh very tasty. Beat sweet sour chicken I’ve had since my child hood. Worth the trip! Good value too. Very long gin menus too.

Excellent take away, from ringing the order through to collecting and the food was excellent and definetly not short on portion size, it was well worth the drive and definetly will return and possibly use restaurant next time it looks lovely

Dont usually write reviews but service and food here was amazing! Went on Saturday without booking and although it was busy, staff managed to find us a table very quickly. Little wait for mains as they was busy but food came out delicious and great portion sizes. Cant reccomend this place enough and cant wait to go back.

Met up with friends as we were on holiday they eat here regularly. Very attentive staff nothing too much trouble and lovely food well cooked and lots of choices.

I went to Chippenham together with my bf to visit a friend and I was recommended the Fortune Inn Chinese food. However I didn’t book and when We got there it was really packed. The staff was very helpful, they got us a table pretty quickly and in the meantime we were located in the bar. As we told them we were celebrating my friends birthday they invited to a free pint. We had the buffet, it was amazing, they offer a good selection of traditionally made Chinese food. I especially recommend the spare ribs (although I’m not much into pork, have to say it was worth it and the sauce is something special).

The service was terrible the staff were rude the food was cold we hate to wait for over 1 hour for our food im not going to going back to The fortune Inn chinese again

Took the family for a meal. Had a really great night. They made us feel welcome and were very good looking after all our needs especially making the kids have a great night. And the salt and chilli ribs were amazing.

We waited for 2 hours for our mains and when they arrived they were cold. Many other tables were experiencing the same problem. We left without eating.

After arriving 7.30pm we where seated and orders taken, starters not served until 8:40pm they also forgot one of our tables starters which wasn’t brought out until everyone else has finished. the table next to use with more people came after us and ate before us, Mains not served until 9.20 and they forgot one of our rice by the time it had come out the meal was cold, utter disappointment, staff fairly rude aswell.

Visited on Saturday for the Jamaican day Great authentic Jamaican food and Reggae music to boot very busy with a great atmosphere. Brilliant!!

My favourite Chinese in the area. Visited with my daughter and Mum while the men went to the rugby. It was my Mums first visit and she loved it too. Sweet & Sour King Prawn Hong Kong style was a first for me and WoW, the prawns were amazing. Also tried beef curry dish, that had a kick to it. Never disappointed. Great evening, food and service.

Tried this for the first time, and honestly it’s my last, all four of us left it after a few mouthfuls. All four dishes tasted like sweeteners and not fresh, the rice was just a soggy mound.

Oh dear, not great, not as good as we expected, probably won’t go again, staff really nice, but food not up to much.

Came across this place by accident traveling through we fancied Chinese so just googled nearest! On pulling up outside we were a little unsure as it looked like a pub, we ventured to the door to look at menu which certainly does not do the restaurant justice! There was a delicious smell in the air so we went in to find a lovely atmospheric area we were greeted warmly and sat down to a delicious meal , the service was attentive and warm but professional, I would certainly make an effort to return.

We dropped in on this restaurant by chance when travelling through. Very pleased we stopped, looks like an ordinary pub from the front and the restaurant itself is tucked out the back. Lovely place and staff. Had a fantastic meal which was very fairly priced. Will certainly make the effort to come back again.

We were staying for a long weekend in Castle Combe and really fancied a Chinese. Not been to a Chinese restaurant for years as always been disappointed.

Been here before many years ago and was a bit disappointed so avoided it. We recently picked up a takeaway and the whole family loved it. So...We thought, why not give it another try as we were told New management.

This is our first choice when looking for a decent chinese meal whether sitting in the restaurant or as a takeaway. The food is always great with a fabulous service.

27.09.18. I visited this restaurant with a friend for dinner. The restaurant is lovely and is attached to a pub. We ordered our drinks and food. I had the succulent tasty prawns in breadcrumbs whilst my friend had juicy ribs. I decided on the veggie vermicelli and my friend had a meat dish with rice. All very tasty and plentiful. To finish, I had a Baileys coffee and an ice-cream for my friend.

Really impressed, had heard about it but never got round to going, food, staff and restaurant were excellent, will take our daughter next time when she returns from her travels

Strange location both inside the pub and all of it seems to be inside an estate. Only a small car park but plenty of street parking available. If you can get past these, then you will find very good food at reasonable prices, served by friendly and attentive staff. Really good experience.

This is our go-to take away. The food is excellent and plenty of it, and the welcome from the staff is always cheerful and friendly. We’ve eaten in the restaurant many times and that is also very good. The price is good too.

We have been visiting this restaurant for many years, the food has always been excellent, but lately over the last year or so the service and ambience has improved dramatically. We went for our daughters birthday with our family, we had a really good night, delicious food , great service and lovely wine. If you haven't tried this restaurant then it's a must!

Visited on Sunday Yoko's second anniversary party on, great day Hog roast, barbecue, bouncy castle for the children plus ice creams and slush puppy machine great family atmosphere with live music. Well worth the visit!

Took my best friend Ant for a meal on his 50th this week. Very impressed with the layout of this place. I used to come drinking here when it was the 5 Alls about 30 yrs ago. so has changed a bit since then.

We went to the Fortune Inn Chinese Restaurant for the first time last week, always been a little unsure as Chinese/Pub description. However, the food was definitely above par for Chinese and the atmosphere and décor were very good and the staff warm and inviting. Will definitely be going back again soon.

We visited today and opted for the 3 course lunch for £11.80 per person. Good choice of dishes to choose from, everything freshly cooked, absolutely delicious, highly recommend.

Visited the Chinese Restaurant on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed with the food. Good service and food is always served hot. Best Chinese food in the area. For me personally it lacks the atmosphere of a Chinese Restaurant, feels like you are sat in a large converted Portakabin, but I keep going back!

We popped in on a Thursday night for dinner which consisted of three courses. The service was polite, friendly and efficient.

We recently visited here as a group for a birthday meal accompanied by a vegetarian diner. When ordering our starters, a few people ordered spring rolls, including a vegetable spring roll. We had clearly stated there was a vegetarian with us. After a couple of bites into the starter we realised the vegetable spring rolls were in fact meat spring rolls.

We went to the Fortune Inn with high expectations and weren’t disappointed at all. The meal was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. The restaurant was quite full but not noisy with a very relaxed atmosphere. The staff were lovely and the food came quickly although we didn’t get the impression that they wanted us to leave. All in all I would highly recommend this eatery as a place to go again and again.

Perfect late Sunday lunch. Great food and service. Soup, duck and Honkong sweet and sour chicken. With friendly good service. Back ASAP.

We can only assume this has changed hands. We have raved about the Fortune in the past so having just recovered from the flu, treated ourselves to a meal. It was a takeaway but from the a la carte menu. Sorry guys what a letdown. The kung po pork was very good, but the satay chicken had no peanut flavour whatsoever. The rest of the dishes were at bet average. Will not drive several miles to go again.

A table of 8, consisting of the titled three generations of Chinese food ‘experts’ (according to the wise 6 year old) were treated to an absolute delight of an evening.

This is a great little restaurant set in the back of a pub - oddly, you don't feel like you are in a pub at all, so you get the full Chinese restaurant experience. The food is plentiful and tasty, and while the restaurant is often very full, once you have your order in, the food comes quickly. The place is clean and well looked after, and is a great place for families couples, work events. Recommend!

Doesn’t look to be the place you would purchase a takeaway considering it’s shared with a pub. Great chicken balls but sadly that’s all I can say was good! The rice was wet and didn’t resemble fried rice! Very clumpy too! The crackers had a nice taste but very thick and this left them unpleasant! Considering the price and the wait for it, i would not return!

Well, found this by accident as the place we were going to had closed down. We had excellent quality food here and very good service at a price that was very reasonable.

We came for our anniversary and were not disappointed. We had an amazing meal, the portions were huge so we didn't manage pur usual order so we took some away. You will not be disappointed. Its also got very reasonable bar prices too. If we lived near here it would be our go to pub and restaurant (the areas are separate).

The food has always been good here. In last few months its been taken to another level. Fast service, polite friendly staff and the new decor looks great.My favourites...BBQ ribs that fall off the bone and the spicy sczehuan pork. All in all a great place with great food and nice atmosphere.

From the moment we arrived you could see and feel how this place has changed dramatically in the past year. New owners have invested heavily and now produce outstanding food and service. Yoko (I think the lady in charge) is amazing and her team also. The food was delicious. Spare ribs that melted from the bone and in your mouth in a wonderful sauce (not the bright red sweet one that can often be the case) were a highlight on an impressive mixed starters. The pancake rolls were heavenly too!We followed this with the beautifully presented and tasty duck. We choose a lovely white wine for the mains which was an absolute bargain for just £15.50. Mains of sizzling fillet of beef (dreamy) chicken in black bean sauce (devine) and sweet and sour chicken, thankfully less sweet than the standard stuff but it's a dish that the better half insists on and whilst much nicer than usual just isn't my cup of tea! (It was a 5/5 from her opinion!) We sat after the meal in the lovely comfortable room beside the restaurant with our drinks and found the whole experience to be one that based on our visit can only be 5 stars....... They do a very busy takeaway service also, but for me the quality of this places food should be tested piping hot in the dining area not reduced in quality by sitting in plastic tubs! Highly recommended from us.....

As others have noted, the appearance from the front is not great - BUT DO NOT BE DECEIVED!You have here a fantastic pub with great offers of chinese food and BRILLIANT Tapas - AND - a complety separate Chinese Restaurant offering wonderful food & service - all under one roof.The service throughout is fantastic - food quality is second-to-none - beer prices very reasonable.What more could you ask?We have now visited several times for both Tapas and the full restaurant experience and will be back again and again.Thank you. Its unusual to see a chinese restaurant/takeaway in a pub. The quality of the food, portions and price represent excellent quality and value for money.

Once you find this restaurant, it's an oasis of chinese cuisine. The outside looks a bit ropey but get beyond that and through the pub and you enter a smart chinese restaurant. Service was great, with the staff very attentive. Lots of choice, although the set meals were fairly limited. We had mixed starters followed by duck and pancakes and then our own chosen dish with rice. Everything tasted good and we had a very pleasant evening.

This is a superb chinese restaurant. From the chinese tapas to the main courses we can't fault it and wouldn't want to. We had forgotten how large the portions, so at the end of a huge lunch,we didn't seem to have made and impression-no problem-doggy bag provided and we shared our meal with my 92 year old mother in law,and she loved it too!

Had Chicken curry the meal was great one of the best curries ever, service was good and the staff friendly and courteous. Highly recommended!

Awful meal - rice was disgusting - bitty and tasteless, looked more like a brick than a mound of rice. Noodles bland, meat beyond chewy, curry tasted of curry powder - very watery. Would not recommend or frequent again. Very expensive for what is was - a huge disappointment.

With a recent change in management, this was our first visit to the Fortune since the new staff had taken over. We had been regular visitors with the previous staff and were keen to see what changes might have been made. We were not disappointed. We were part of a large party and our orders were taken swiftly and politely, following a friendly welcome from Yoko and her team. The menu has been overhauled and looked more refined. It's always difficult to tell if there are more or less dishes, as Chinese restaurants tend to offer many dishes to suit a variety of tastes. However all the staple dishes were there!The prices, given the portion sizes were excellent. The food was freshly made and we didn't have to wait very long at all. But it was a Sunday and relatively quiet. Unlike many Chinese meals we've had this lacked the 'gloop' you sometimes get when food starts to cool - no one in the party seemed to have an issue with either the taste, or the quantity. It was a very enjoyable visit and we're pleased to see the standards have been raised even further. We can only hope word spreads to support this little gem tucked away on the edge of the town.

This is the first time I have used trip advisor to review a restaurant but wanted to share my recent experience. I recently returned to the Fortune Inn in Chippenham which I hadn't been to since it had changed hands. It was a great experience throughout from the first moment I walked in. The restaurant and pub has been refurbished and has a lot more of a Chinese feel to it. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and professional. The service was excellent and quick. I ordered one of the set meals which is very reasonably priced and the food was well presented and delicious. The staff were very attentive. We also had a few drinks in the bar beforehand and spoke with the locals there who were very friendly. The pub is much improved with a new drinks menu including cocktails! We also met the new lady owner who was very warm and friendly. Compared to my previous visits I can tell the Fortune Inn has been vastly improved and a lot of effort has gone into this combination business of a pub and restaurant, with a good balance, which is not always easy to achieve. I would highly recommend a visit to the fortune inn, definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants in Wiltshire.James

If you did not know the Chinese Restaurant was there you might miss it as it looks like a typical pub. The interior lacks atmosphere, reminds me of being in a portakabin/temporary build, but please see past it. The service is good, the food is always served piping hot and it tastes absolutely amazing. Prices tend to be higher than other take-aways in the area but this is really the case of 'you get what you pay for'.

This was our first visit and it was amazing! The staff were really attentive and this helped make a great first impression. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was fabulous. Highly recommend to anyone.

Me and my partner always go to the Fortune Inn for our Chinese. We have eaten in several times and had take away and its always been a great experience. Food comes out efficiently, always well cooked and full of flavour. We usually stick to our favorite things, so we have the mixed starter platter that comes with spring rolls, ribs, wonton, prawn toast and seaweed. I then have beef and black bean sauce with egg fried rice for main which is perfect. If you eat in, the restaurant is nice and service is very polite and friendly. Would highly recommend.

It seemed that this was the only Chinese that was open for people to take away a lunch. Fierce a bit of trawling the internet I found this one. Thank go for sat nav! I would never have found it without one. Ordered 3 chicken curries and they arrived freshly made in good time.
