The best restaurants in Wealden South East

I regularly visit Sanchos and I must admit I’m always left so impressed. At this point, I’ve tried a lot of the menu and it is all really really good quality and great taste. Some of favourites include shish kebab, chicken kebab, and the cheese burger. Very friendly staff as well, I’m never disappointed at Sanchos.

Arranged my dads 80th birthday party in the function room which was a good size for our friends and family. Staff were friendly and big help when discussing all the plans, food was great nothing too much trouble. We have also had many breakfasts and meals here all very nice would recommend.

Just had a great Sunday roast, fab food, price and atmosphere will return very soon, previously have had a lunch also, great service all round

A lovely Cafe with excellent service. But PLEASE find a another source for your Victoria sponge. I didn't know of I should eat it or do the dishes with it...

I have already reviewed this in the main hotel site. The drawing rooms are lovely, comfortable chairs, beautiful view, BUT the food and wine by the glass were truly awful. Very poor quality and very expensive. Never again.

As a local, I visit here fairly regularly. But really only because it is 'handy' and visitors want to try it. Last visit on Easter Saturday evening was appalling. Really busy (which is good) but only 1 guy serving at the bar, so was constant queueing. Had a table booked to eat, but was sharply told we had missed it- apparently it was an hour earlier and they couldn't now accommodate us! I wouldn't mind, but had already spoken to the bar guy about it and said I'd be back nearer our booking time. And then we had been sitting under his nose, trying to pass the time until our table booking. Horrible service and won't be back any time soon.

Only had coffee at this time but we will be back to try the food soon.

Food was cold and horrid !! I paid for loads of dips including the ones that are meant to come with my meal how hard is it to get a order right ?? It's dips paid dips ruined my chicken selects without the dips fuming the kids meals look like they have been thrown on floor and stomped on ! Come.on now ..... you guys get paid for this haha

Great service, fast, friendly and efficient.

Visited Thursday 2nd Jan just for a coffee. It was fairly busy and only 2 staff serving but they were quick in taking orders.we were told there was only one coffee machine working which then stopped working when we went to use it. Spoke to staff who got someone to sort it out promptly unfortunately it still didn't do hot chocolate. Also no stirrers but after complaining we were given desert spoons to stir drinks.As the norm with all Wetherspoon's clearing of tables a tad slow. All staff should be told to pick up any empty items when they take orders out. The building is very quirky and the wooden horse is great

Gone downhill to the point you wouldn’t believe

Decent pub, until you pay for your drinks! £14.70 for a large gin and tonic and a pint of beer…London prices, in a fairly average Sussex pub

As always a cracking take away, large portions packed in , tasty and piping hot, highly recommended

Great prompt service, a little disappointed to find the carvery was only being served at weekends and certain other times, but totally understand the reasoning behind that. Managed to find something from the menu in any case. The pie my husband had seemed like it was microwaved, hot in some spots and cold in others and looked a little anaemic. The burger I had was lovely, made fresh, nice perfectly toasted bun and juicy burgers. Portions were a little on the small side and lacked a small garnish but overall a pleasant quick meal exactly what we were after. Will be back again (for the carvery)!
