Got a takeaway for the first time tonight, walked up to the restaurant and ordered waited about 15 minutes and had a drink and chatted to staff who seemed really friendly, got home and food was really tasty will definitely be coming back and recommending to anyone else in Heathfield.

We wanted a quiet lunch after the festivities had ended. Had visited here years ago when working in the area, but having enjoyed lunch here with my walking group recently, decided it would fit the bill for my husband and me. It's a lovely old pub with a long history, but gladly doesn't go over the top with the olde worlde theme. With three cosy open fires and a warm welcome on a very cold January day, we felt at home straight away, despite not being regulars. Tasty food (turkey, leek and pigs in blankets pie, and Christmas pudding with rum and raisin ice cream), unfussy but attractive, and portions just right (some pubs' portions are way over the top for us!). With the excellent Harveys Old Ale, plus coffees, our bill came to £53.65, which we thought very reasonable these days. Only one slight thing not so comfortable, the men's loos are outside! But this is an old building and I didn't hear anyone complaining (perhaps because I was in the spotless ladies!). The pretty garden would be lovely to sit in come summer. We will certainly return to the Wheatsheaf, and living locally, wish we'd rediscovered it before now. Thanks to all the staff.

Came for lunch here and it was very nice and the bar staff were very accommodating. The meal was very nice here. Definitely a visit while coming into or going through Wadhurst. We were seen to quickly and food came out in a timely manner. Could see this being a busy place on an evening.

Very poor service, the girl behind the bar could not serve alcohol because she was under age,she had to keep getting the Manageress who was not that helpful,I had to open my two bottles of Prosecco, and pour my own Guinness Zero, which is her job, their general manner and demeanour was not what you would expect.

Such a pleasant place to grab a bit of refreshment after a bright breezy roam vieiwing the amazing scenery. The place was clean, bright and imaginatively decorated. The queue system for service was clear and the servers were friendly and helpful. It may have been just a brief stop for a cup of tea but we left feeling refreshed and smiling.

The pizza was at the highest level, the chef is a master!the burger was very tasty, the products are natural, not like at other pizza places, the man who delivered it to me was very kind and respectful, everything was as if it had been taken out 3 minutes ago from the oven, I recommend it to everyone

Lovely. The two young girls that work here are amazing. They sing as a duet whilst they serve. Lovely atmosphere. Clean. Good stopping place for a coffee and quick rest. Keep it up

Warning Do not use samphire star. Placed my order on 3rd party booking site they are registered on. They accepted my order then rang me to say 1 of the dishes requested was not in the offer The exclusion list does not say the dish I ordered when I said that they said that’s not their problem and I need to take it up the the booking service. I now I need to wait 5 days for a refund on a £60 order. The man was so rude to me on the phone never experienced anything like it.

A lovely little find for cake 🍰 and coffee ☕️ stop and lovely to sit outside in the sunshine ☀️ Staff both in the farm shop and tearoom were friendly. Peach and pistachio cake was delicious and flat white coffee was in a decent size cup at last! Sadly no wifi and missing opportunities to upsell, as we went and ordered another coffee ourselves but would have been nice when our dirty cups were cleared- unsure if there was waiting service. Farm shop has a fantastic range of ciders, mustards, jams, sweet and biscuit tins, array of fruits🍋🟩 🍌🍊🍎🍓-ideal if you want a unique gift - lovely touch! Set back off the road and loads of parking!

My husband and I used a gift for a champagne afternoon tea at Buxted Park Hotel but were left a little dissappointed. I probably wouldn't recomend or return. We were quite disappointed with the experience in general. Being pregnant I asked for an alternative to the champagne, perhaps an elderflower fizz but this seemed to confuse the waitor. I did eventually get elderflower and sparkling water but the drama of explaining the situation left me a little tense. The sandwich selection was quite poor. When asked if we had any dietry requirements, I asked for no mustard on my ham sandwich to which the waitor said, not a problem. Received no ham sandwich at all but an extra chesse one, so I had two cheese, one chicken and stuffing and one salmon. They were all quite dry and very small as cut in to long rectangles. Not really what I'd expect for the cost! Cakes also a little boring, no macrons despite their cream tea advertising/menu displaying one. We had a choice of a mince pie, christmas cake, (neither of which we like - quite an acquired taste) shortbread and a brownie. Scones overcooked and dry, got given a tiny ramekin of cream to share which was just enough for one half of my scone, we had to ask for another two pots!! Having a really sweet tooth, it was a bit of a let down. Nice views, dining room and a nice ambience to the place. Cream tea at East Sussex National much better in my opinion!
