I recently had the pleasure of dining Heathfield Tandoori, located on High Street, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The convenience of having parking close to the restaurant made our visit hassle-free. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which added a warm touch to our dining experience. The quality of the food was exceptional, with each dish bursting with authentic flavors. Moreover, the prices were very reasonable offering great value for the quality of food and service provided. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic Indian dining experience. Keep up the excellent work and try to introduce Indian drought beer.

We went mid week and dined in so wasn't very busy. Food was good and service the same. We were a group of 10 and everything arrived hot and tasty.

What good food went there for my birthday today and the food was great thanks and keep up the great work . Will definitely go back

Absolutely brilliant food even been in the restaurant aswell and reasonable prices for 2 people eating even shared a few poppadoms with my girls they very much enjoyed them would definitely recommend if you haven't already tried heathfield tandoori and delivery time was also quick food hot aswell really enjoyed it as did I when I came in for my stag do evening

Came here last night for dinner, service was lovely. Our waiter was very kind and made sure to keep checking in on us, the ladies at the front desk were also very welcoming, overall a very friendly and calm atmosphere! As for the food, the selection was plentiful and the food came out brilliantly- very tasty! Portions are very good considering the price, even had to ask for a to-go box as we had some leftover. All in all I am surprised that I haven’t visited here sooner considering how lovely the place is and the staff are.

We used to visit regularly and gave other Indians a try. After poor meals at other options in Heathfield, we decided to return and give Heathfield Tandoori another try. Good food and nice options on menu. We will be back.

Absolutely amazing food, always a cheerful waiter, will always be going here in future, I have never had a bad Indian EVER from this place, unlike other places, this is the place to go for Indian food

ABSOLUTLEY APPAULING CURRY , APPAULING SERVICE. ASKED TWICE ON ONLINE ORDER AND ON THE PHONE NOT TO RING THE DOORBELL DUE TO BABY ASLEEP rung it twice without calling. Chicken was dry popodoms all smashed in the bag wrong naan bread awful curry house they weren’t even busy as it turned up in 20 mins. Do not ever order from here

When we came in we were the only eating in customers. There were some takeaway customers. After about a quarter of an hour a couple came in to dine. No other customers were in until we had eaten and paid. In spite of the place being so empty, it took about 45 minutes before our meals were served, which is slow by any standard. My wife had lamb pasanda, which was lukewarm, overcooked and hardly tasted of lamb. I had prawn jalfrezi. It was lukewarm, overcooked and, though I saw some prawns, hardly tasted of prawns. Jalfrezi is supposed to be hot, but it wasn’t. The interior was neatly decorated, but totally lacked atmosphere. The service was polite but not engaging with the customers. Orders were taken, food was (eventually) put on the table, payment was taken, but basically not a word. The only saving grace was an excellent Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. Final question is: Will I visit again? Answer: No, if I can help it. This was one of my worst curry experiences ever.

Lovely evening with visiting family, Delicious food which all tasted freshly prepared. Restaurant & cloakrooms very clean. Excellent value for money with good attentive service. Will look forward to a return visit.

I’ve lived in heathfield for 5 years and I’m ashamed to say that I’ve only just discovered heathfield tandoori! The service is really friendly and the food is so delicious! I had a takeaway with friends a few weeks ago and was blown away and then I couldn’t stop thinking about it so I had one the following Friday on my own :) Indian cuisine is my favourite and so they will no doubt be seeing me a lot! Took the family for a meal today and the food was really good, it all seemed very fresh! I will be heading back for the Elvis night on the 20th April

I wonder if there is new management here because we used them before with no problem But recently we ordered online, paid by card and got a confirmation the payment had succeeded But when the food turned up the driver had been told, they didn't have the payment and not to deliver without being paid So we were forced to pay in cash for something we had already paid for, and because the driver (fairly obviously) didn't provide a receipt for this it's likely that the credit card company won't reverse the payment It's too small an amount to bother the police or the courts with - but being forced to pay twice for the same product is going to over ride any consideration of the quality of the food so I think best avoided

Called to order a take away - absolutely disaster. The person on the phone didn't seem to have a clue what they were doing. Attempted to pay by card but they didn't know how to use the card machine - they then asked someone else who also didn't know so then had to call their boss and put them on speakerphone to try and use the card machine. Repeatedly said we could cash if it was easier but they kept putting the phone on the side so couldn't hear anything. When they did pick up the phone again and we said we could do cash, they still continue to talk to the other 2 people about the card machine. Worked out the total which was nowhere near what it should've been for what we ordered so the order was wrong. This took 15 minutes all in all. Finally getting somewhere and they said delivery was an hour. Then an hour and 40 minutes. Absolutely astonishing that they put someone on the phone who can't manage simple things like writing and recall. Will not try them again.

Somewhat surprised by so many negative reviews. Have never eaten in but got take away on 5-6 occasions and always been impressed, as have various family members we’ve ordered for when they’re visiting. Delivery and collection can sometimes be a bit haphazard in terms of timings but given how challenging the sector is to find staff atm I try to be understanding.

Chicken korma was absolutely swimming in grease; called them and I was refused a refund by a very rude member of staff. Hideous and revolting.

Now I don’t normally write reviews having previously managed in hospitality but this couldn’t go unsaid. We stopped here on the way home needing to find somewhere to eat with our 4 year old. It seemed very quiet on entry with some customers at the rear of the restaurant. When we asked if we could have a table for three they seemed confused by us having our 4 year old daughter with us. We ordered some poppadoms to start which tasted like they had been made a day or so ago. Not crunchy, just sort of soft. The dips and salad pots that came with them also seemed old, the onions etc slightly off coloured. Anyway, the starters came, onion bhajis. These had a strange taste to them but more concerning was that they arrived immediately, only slightly warm on the outside but like the centre of the sun on the inside, microwaved. We didn’t eat them and they were collected. Now to their credit when they asked why we hadn’t eaten we said they weren’t very nice our waiter proceeded to apologise and give us our naan bread free of charge, we didn’t ask and weren’t expecting it so that was a nice touch. However he did say we were busy yesterday when they were made and maybe that was why… so not fresh. Now when the mains came, a Tikka Masala, Korma, Bombay potatoes and Charna Masala these were largely tasteless. The Charna Masala was very dry and again seemed like it had been made days ago. The garlic naan we ordered came absolutely dripping in garlic butter, it had to been turned upside down to drain and in-fact we had to ask for tissue to soak it up a bit. Indian is perhaps our favourite takeaway and meal out but we all just gave up in the end, paid our bill and left. Really disappointing.

Food was good but when it gets to 9 o'clock it always feels like they're trying to get rid of you!

Typical Indian curry house. Ambiance was average. Service was not delayed but possibly due to lack of staff. Loud calls across the rooms was bit annoying.

Not a great Indian I was expecting! There isn’t really many good Indian places in Heathfield but always known for this place to be quite good. I ordered a chicken kurma, pilau rice and plain naan. Now Kurma’s I have usually had have always had plenty of sauce, this one I had the chicken was very dry very big pieces and the sauce well most it had leaked through the bag! Pilau rice lots of lumps in it wasn’t very great! And the naan was cold. So a waste of a meal and money!

Was told it would take 20 minutes for take away and actually took 50 minutes of waiting time at the restaurant. When we got our food it was bland, Luke warm and not worth the wait. Our chicken was also very dry. Sorry won’t be returning 👎

Just collected a takeaway and it was awful. The chicken was very dry and flavorless with no tomatoes to speak of considering it was Rogan Josh. My husband had a different curry but the same issues. The Bhajis tasted floury and off like they were leftovers reheated, as did the rice and curries The whole meal was very poor, hardly warm. Wouldn’t be surprised if we had upset tummies. Complete waste of money

Ordered takeaway. Food arrived and poppadoms we paid for were missing along with the mint sauce we paid for. Phoned them and was told it would be 20 minutes for them to be brought to us. I said that was not good enough! A second man came onto the phone, talked over me, told me 2 minutes and the driver would be here and hung up on me. Obviously this was a lie! Never have I experienced such rudeness!! They eventually did get dropped off but still NO mint sauce and we’d already finished our meal. The food wasn’t overly hot, 3 lychees in the Kashmir and about 4 king prawns…. Pathetic! Vegetarian curry was frozen vegetables…poor, very poor! All in all utter rubbish and total waste of money. Won’t be using them again.

This has been our Indian takeaway of choice for the last 10 years, however in the last couple of years it seem very inconsistent. Sometimes the food is beautiful, but sometimes like tonight it was absolutely terrible. Completely tasteless and pale chicken tikka masala. My 2 coconut rices turned out to be actually very bad egg fried rice. 2 barely cooked gooey naan breads I had to finish cooking myself in the oven. And a Aloo Gobi with no cauliflower only potato. Every dish is bulked out with tons of onion. When I get Chinese it's tastes the same each time, as does fish n chips and pizza. Why is this different every time? The equivalent amount of food from the Chinese would also cost about 30% less too. I'm afraid tonight was the last straw. Luckily there are plenty of other Indian takeaways to chose from in Heathfield.

The food is of very good quality and very reasonably priced. Everything is served really quickly, sometimes a bit too quickly!

Lovely meal tonight. Sunday buffet, complimentary drinks, all most enjoyable, really tasty and lovely service. Definitely worth a visit!

I'm always one to look for the positives but I can't think of one after my meal. We waited an hour and a half for greasy chips, fatty cold curry, stale rice and poppadoms and greasy naan bread. So disappointing.

Honestly the worst service ever. Wouldn’t even give one star. Ordered at 6:08 waited one hour and nothing, I thought I would ring up to check where it is and the incredibly rude member of staff said there online ordering had been hacked and there was nothing he can do and said call back tomorrow. He said you can place an order now but it will take 2 hours, so I didn’t. Extremely worried with card detail I was panicking. 8:18 the food arrived so we refused the delivery as we had to make something instead. Rung back up and said about this issue and the guy put the phone down, many calls later saying there was nothing wrong and out right lies about hacking, finding it impossible to get a refund from this rude man. I won’t stop until I get it back as this is completely unbelievable that they would lie about hacking and taking my money. DEFIANTLY DONT USE THEM

The food is good, the service is chaotic / slow

Ordered food online at 16.49, said food would be 40 mins. 17:45 food still not here, googled opening time at 17:30 so gave them the benefit of the doubt that they've just opened, website wouldn't necessarily have known the time. 18:45 still no food. Phoned them no apology, said they'd send the food out now. 19:15 food arrives! Wrong dish in the order. Phoned them up, again no apology just that they would send out another one. 19:35 replacement dish arrives. Driver told to take the other dish back (Slightly worrying especially as covid is currently a thing!) Husband explained to driver what had happened, he apologised but wasn't told any of that info. Took dish back.

this restaurant is an absolute never again. food was horrible and there was flies everywhere staff are really rude and grumpy old men who were speaking behind my families back. i was really disappointed never returning to this tandoori inn again. really upset.

Absolutely disgusting client service. We order a couple of times a month so circa £60 meaning £720 a year. Almost every single time they forget parts of our order. We have to call and wait for it to come after we have eaten. Not relaxing...

This place was so nice it prompted me to write my first ever review. Very friendly and welcoming staff, the food was brilliant and the price was very reasonable. The chicken bhuna and pashwari naans were a particular hits.

We came here the evening we moved to Heathfield as our new home is just around the corner. It was the perfect introduction as we were well looked after, the restaurant was clean and well presented and the two gentleman serving us were very pleasant...

We used to love this place, unfortunately just before it changed its Name It had gone down hill. (Probably the reason for the name change) We have been unwell on the last two times we have ordered, it’s 100% the food. Fist time only one of us was unwell, second time both but we shared dishes. We have had our last order from here.

Whilst waiting to collect my food they waiter took a call possibly from a ppi company, at the end he tells them to FxxK off BxxxH in front of my son with no apology!

Got a leaflet through the post, thought we’d hive it a go. Ordered at 6.30pm was told it would be about an hour. After being lied to including being given the wrong drivers number our food turned up at 9pm. Will never use them again.

Food was nice ,,service and attitude of staff awful ,kept arguing with a customer in front of paying customers which made us uncomfortable and then they was arguing with each other after that episode then at the end of evening they was making gobbing noises which we think was a hint for us to leave so they could shut early .shame after the food was ok but won't be returning there ever

Came for a Saturday night dinner with the family, restaurant wasn’t overly busy but a few tables, 2 young lads serving and taking orders, the 2 older gentle men behind the bar were rude and began shouting at the 2 younger boys in front of everyone as well as shouting down the phone to customers. Food came out and the waiter didn’t know what dish was what. Defiantly need to help with service skills.

This was my first time since they rebranded and only a take-away. Most importantly the food was ok and I will try more dishes in future. The delivery service was efficient as well.

We had read a menu previously on recommendation by a local resident. Great welcome immediately we entered. Food took a while to be prepared but absolutely worth the wait. Staff chatted while we waited and even customers joined in and hoped we enjoyed the food as they had. It was exceptional. We could not fault it at all. We had a large selection of meat and vegetarian. Highly recommend people visit this gem of a restaurant.

We have visited here on many occasions always piping hot food, a great varied menu, lots of new unfamiliar items but always very good, Staff are always very friendly, restaurant is very clean and easy parking

And believe me, I've tried almost all of them over the last 5 years of living in this area as an authentic Indian food lover! My personal choice is chicken vindaloo. Truely excellent! And if I'm feeling like something really authentic, rarely available in other restaurants is the Lamb staff curry. Absolutely delicious! The staff are fantastic. If you need help choosing, they will be only too happy to help. Service has always been very friendly and aimed to please. I visit at least once a week, receive a warm welcome every time and have have only ever seen delighted by the consistently great food. I strongly recommend you try The Heathfield Tandoori. Tell them Mike recommended them to you.

My two friends and I went here friday evening for a meal as we were staying in the area, Firstly we were gretted as we arrived which was very nice at a glance we saw spotless tables and it all looked very welcoming, the service was friendly and good. We all chose a different curry and shared, The food was really very good, and the whole experience delightful highly recommend this place.

Food was really nice, but service needs polishing...my plate was taken away before my husband had finished eating...(rude). Felt rushed in order to get us out of there! Dubious about going again.

The papadom appetisers and pickles were fresh and tasty and the meal which followed was well spiced and the complex flavours came through strongly. Service was prompt and attentive and overall it was a real cut above the usual " curry house ".

Have tried this place twice. Very disapointing all dishes tasted the same. Gave them the benefit of doubt. However the curries where tasteless bland oily and glutinous.

We got a takeaway on New Year’s Eve. I ordered a chicken rogan josh and actually enjoyed it whilst I was eating it. A few hours later I was bed ridden- or should I say toilet ridden!!! And have been this way for 2 days now. My friends ordered lamb dishes and appear to be ok. So I’m guessing it was the chicken that did me in.

Not dined at this restaurant yet, only had take away, food is good & reasonably priced, never had a problem with take outs, however yet to try service eating in!

Stayed with friends in Heathfield and visited the Heathfield Tandoori at the weekend (14th Oct 2017)
