K2 Indian Restaurant in Wealden

Been here several times. Will not go again. Don't order their king prawn dishes. They are obviously using some cheap flaky flesh alternative that tastes nothing like prawns. On one visit my friend had these so called king prawns that she couldn't eat, saying what on earth is this. On my latest visit with son we complained to the manager that this was not king prawn, he was very rude and said he would show us the king prawn. He then immediately made a flustered phone call lasting approx 15 mins (obviously trying to source a real king prawn). Then he brought one out trying to tell us they were cut in half which accounted for the two long (not curved pieces attached to a piece of shell shape). I tasted a piece and it was clearly not prawn but a flaky bland crustacean of some sort. The masala sauce for a biryani taste is sweet with little flavour and beware....check you bill thoroughly before paying. It's no mistake that extra drinks/food gets added as it's happened too many times. Things you send back like hot milk for a tea, they will try and charge you for. I didn't check my bill as we were upset as this meal was for my son's birthday and just wanted to get out. Sure enough we were billed for an extra poppadom. If you are a large party extra dishes/drinks added to your bill may go unnoticed. Make no mistake before the manager replies to this review...it is the EASTBOURNE K2. Oh and I had a prawn dish which they tried to pressure me to have as ing prawns, so glad I didn't.

Brilliant food so tasty and a great portion! The staff are so friendly and attentive. This is our go to curry restaurant you can’t beat it. Will always return and recommend. Thanks again :)

VERY SLOW SERVICE. Waited 1.5 hours for us to get served our food. However, the obvious reason was to get us ordering more drinks. Restaurants make more profit selling drinks!! As soon as we asked about our food, they miraculous came within 2 minutes. The chicken was so stringy - more likely left to heat whilst we were waiting and drinking. The cubed salmon was overcooked and skin so charcoaled/black, it's not edible. The veggies were rubbery. They suffered the same fate as the stringy chicken 🫣🫣 They must know that the quality of food was underwhelming, judging by how much uneaten food was left. Better Luck Next Time But Somewhere Else.

We had a family night out , but unfortunately not a good one! I had a prawn madras which was more like a vindaloo or phall ! I’ve eaten a load of madras dishes in the past the service was very friendly but unfortunately very slow… another person had a dansak which was more like a madras.. would unfortunately not recommend this restaurant 😬

Very unhappy with this restaurant we sat for 2 hours with just 1 drink that had to last as never got asked for anymore Asked for water witch i didn’t get and waiting all that time for food witch we didn’t get they was under staffed for how many people in the restaurant and the just eat ring tone thing was going all night to loud I would not normally moan but me and my other half don’t get much time together with out the little ones so this was a special night for us but 2 hours for no food and to be honest when we left as we was not waiting any longer no one really cared Can’t comment on food as didn’t have any!

Fantastic food, but if like us you order for delivery, expect a long wait! Our last two deliveries took much longer to arrive than what should be considered acceptable. Our last meal was ordered at 7:12PM.... delivery was 21:22!! Yes, one off delays can happen but this is not the first time. Tried calling restaurant for updates and calls went to voicemail (delivery person apologised and mentioned owner was not answering calls). Anyway, although the food is great, we won't be ordering again, sorry K2, you've lost a customer.

We went with 18 friends for a stag meal. The food was amazing, very friendly staff and there was no delay on food and drink orders. The sauces were one of the best tasting I have eaten in an Indian restaurant

My sister and I stopped here for a takeaway. We had the set meal for two which is on offer at the moment. It was absolutely delicious , the only thing that disappointed us was the onion Barji which broke into pieces and was very brittle. Apart from that lovely.

Takeaway - first time ordering (and last), food very bland

I have never tasted such bad food at a restaurant in UK ever in my life. The price is extremely high and the quality is indescribably bad. On top of all these things, staff is very rude. Honestly, very bad experience.

Food was worst in taste and gravy items which they served were stale. And the staff was extremely rude. Worst experience I’ve ever had and this is an honest review.

I'm afraid two items were missing from takeaway order, not the first time it's happened and it spoils the occasion when family are visiting. Shame that more care isn't taken when packing orders

Well , as usual K2 is best Indian restaurant in Hailsham, surrounding areas. Food is exceptional & was delicious. We unfortunately live over 2 hours drive from K2. Earlier in the year, when we were staying nearby, we enjoyed dinner there after seeing it on google maps. It was absolutely delicious. This time we booked before our stay. The food, service, and atmosphere are all perfect. We will definitely be returning on our next trip.

Have ordered several times and generally don't have negative feedback - but today our order was over half an hour late, no updates from the restaurant and after calling them twice, they mumbled something about the driver driving from Eastbourne to Polegate then to Hailsham. He hung up the phone while I was mid sentence (I was nothing but polite so not sure why?) Eventually our food was delivered.. Was cold so needed reheating.. Shame, their food is normally lovely.

We ordered the set meal, a chicken tikka biryani, a chicken tikka dansak and a bombay potato. All of the food was really nice. The chicken was good too. The biryani was our favourite as it was really flavourful. The tikka masala was quite creamy, not as deep or 'spiced' as others I've tried though.

Our first visit to this restaurant and we were pleasantly. Staff are very friendly and attentive. We were a large group of people and all our food came out at the same time and all nice and hot. We were looked dafterreally well and everything was perfect. Food and drinks were excellent and we will be visiting again and will order takeaways too.

I would like a refund on my food you was not very helpful. Ive left a review on google. The service from yourself was not acceptable and not willing to reslove the matter just kept saying your busy then hang up the phone on me. Sent you picture of the cold puddle you sent me not worth £50.15p tonight.

Wasn’t overly impressed on arrival despite the previous reviews. Drinks arrived in dirty glasses and the soft drinks were totally flat and warm. This was pointed out and replaced with equally flat and luke warm Diet Coke. Food was acceptable but nothing special. Unfortunately we won’t be coming back :-(

Amazing food, while the delivery did take away, the food was still piping hot and delicious!

2nd time of ordering. First time I had a Phall which was nice (not hot) and full of flavour. Second order was a vindaloo which wasn’t hot either and lacked flavour which I was disappointed with. I’ll try again as it might be a one off. Indian cuisine is renowned for its flavour but this dish sadly lacked any. Just to clarify when I say wasn’t hot I don’t mean oven hot, the temperature was perfect just didn’t have the punch associated with a Phall or a vindaloo

Having driven past the K2 so many times and having heard many good reports, we eventually tried it out and have to say we were very pleased we did. Great friendly staff, nice decor and a very good menu. Staff were attentive throughout out meal and the food was presented well. Starters mains, sides and drinks for two under £65. Really do recommend this place.

This has become our regular takeaway delivery service now for our monthly Indian treat. The food always arrives hot and well cooked. The portions are generous and consistently taste so good. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing time here!! First time for me and my partner. Service was exceptional!! So speedy but chill all at the same time. Always making sure you have everything you need. And the food 😋😋😋😋 wow!!! Everything tastes super fresh. With your drinks your get some poppadoms with sauce and salad 😋 and the prices are just amazing can't remember the last time I went out and enjoyed a meal that much and the bill was that price definitely worth a visit!!

A must go to place ,welcoming,tasty ,value for the money,have where to park your car ,great for leisure or business . Can only highly recommend

4 of us find here and have to say it was one of the best Indian restaurants I've been to. The staff were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. First Indian I've been to that serve duck. My husband had the duck tikka starter. Wow, they were full of flavour. This restaurant has been going for over 20 years and can see why. Will definitely be back. Not over priced at all.

Great atmosphere and service was great. We had great interaction with the staff which made our visit here extra special . We ordered 1x bottle of wine, 1 glass of and a double spirit with lemonade which made the meal about £33 each for 3 of us but obviously It would be bit less with just regular drinks It was quite busy here on a Fri night so would recommend ringing up first to book a table like we did. Food tasted amazing and we will definitely come back here again. There's parking at the front of the restaurant for roughly about 10-12 cars .

If you want cold food wrong dishes and a extremely rude manager on the phone that blames you for his staffs mistakes and shouts down the phone not the first time i have wittnessed his poor attitude towards paying customers AVOID there is plenty of other far better Indian take aways that treat you alot better take my advice go elsewhere.

Never disappoints always a great place for a night out

One of the best Indian restaurants I have been to in years. The food and service is fantastic. It serves traditional dishes that I remember from 45 years ago, in a modern atmosphere.

Takeaway I ordered a lovely chicken dansak with onion baji's and poppadoms. It was very nice and delivered promptly. Will definitely order again. Have eaten here many times.

Nice place to go for a curry always busy at weekends so booking is essential. Takeaways are just as good as eating in but your better off collecting as delivery times can be long. Best place for a curry in hailsham

We ordered a take away from k2 - well. We was told 45 minutes to 1 hours, great. 1.5 hours later, no food. I called the restaurant and confronted the lady on the phone to get the response - I don’t knew what to say and then she hung up on me. Great customer service! The food then arrived 20 minutes later via one of the waitresses not the usual delivery drivers, opened the food up and it was cold. We waited so long for this food which we were so excited for, for it to be cold. We then called back up and spoke to a bloke regarding the food issue and he said someone would call us back, 1 week later, nothing still from the restaurant. Genuinely diabolical, don’t order from here! They are a shambles!

Tuesday night and it was packed. Fabulous food, great atmosphere, good service food just delicious.

Made a telephone booking and said we would be twenty to thirty minutes. Drove all the way to Hailsham as was recommended to give this place a try. When we arrived we were told that our table had been taken by someone else and we would have to wait. Front of house Had to go off and check we had called which we had. Shocking way to treat a new customer and won’t be returning. Terrible customer service and a rude manager who didn’t really care about us. Don’t bother folks if that’s the way they treat people.

Not sure what has happened here recently but the food used to be consistently good, tonight I ordered a few dishes and a chicken tikka mossala (madras hot) for my partner as that’s the only dish she likes. Collected and returned home to find they’ve not spiced it up, called up and the person on the phone tried to fob me off. Went back and collected a new one, to eventually get home and our dinners have just been spiced with cayenne pepper and tasted vile. We are regulars here and safe to say we won’t be back.

Went there last night (31st December) WOW the staff are amazing one young man Ali went above and beyond to help me ( I'm disabled) his attention was impeccable. The food was lovely. Will be going back back soon. Thank you for a lovely time

Visiting family near by we collected a substantial takeaway order . Good size portions with quality meat and fish . Nothing was greasy at all like some places . large crispy onion bhaji. Best Indian food in a long time , full of flavour and each dish was as it’s meant to be . Will definitely be back

Truth be told we tried 6 other Indians but the food was just not at the level that K2 are at - this is the best Indian take away in Eastbourne and surrounding areas and if you don't agree then I really don't think you have eaten enough Indian takeaways

Food was good, service was excellent

I went here last night and had a really lovely evening. I had lamb tikka korai which was so tasty 😋 I also had saag paneer which I was a little bit with (hence 4 stars instead of 5) the reason being that in the past, it has been with big bits of cheese which I have really enjoy. Unfortunately this didn't have that and was more of a paste. Having said this, I will definitely be coming here again as on the whole the food is lovely as well as the staff.

Food was amazing 😋 It arrived early ,was piping hot and was absolutely delicious with no spillage in the bag. Well worth the money.

Lovely place for a Indian meal food ok. But the service was very slow due to priority given to takeaway orders leaving restaurant diners waiting long time for there food ie ( hour and a half).

I’m sharing my friends and my own opinion regarding K2.. last week we went out for a dinner and the food was ok, nothing to complain. But the waitress that was walking behind us forward and back and again.. and so on,.. made us feel he is watching us or guarding the entrance ?! We had plans for a cup off coffee or something sweet after our dinner, but we went out as didn’t want to spent our time there anymore. The waitress should give the time for guests and let them eat in peace .. not disturbing by walking by at all times, no meaning, making unnecessary move there

First time me and my partner went last night. Incredible service, the food was delicious with plenty of dishes to choose from. The flavours were immense! The staff were all extremely polite, professional with excellent customer care. The best thing is the price, for what you receive for the money you pay is second to none! Over the moon with the entire night, can't wait to visit again. We've found our new Indian, if you haven't tried it, go!

We have been to the K2 on many occasions, our last visit will be our last. The Food was bland. We had the set meal for two chicken tikka starter dry, the chicken was hard in both Curry's and had a taste to it I cannot describe. Waiting staff did not know how to handle situation. Ended up with me paying a bill for food that was not eaten and going home hungry! I contacted the restaurant later that night to advise the owner/ manager that the service and handling of complaint were not up to usual expectations but as yet have received no reply. The restaurant has definitely gone down hill and we will not be returning.

Ordered for delivery, had no problems with that side of things. But the “king prawn” jalfrezi was actually crawfish jalfrezi…. Chicken tikka Kashmiri had literally zero flavour to it, not even the chicken tasted of anything it just tasted like cardboard and was actually quite gritty. Rice was also gritty and in places quite mushy.

We enjoyed the food, we had started going most Sundays as they had a Sunday deal main,side & naan bread for £14.95...till 5 weeks into coming a new member of staff there as soon as we sat down told us we weren’t allowed to share the main meals in the offer (we shared some between our children as they wouldn’t eat a whole dish) to which I couldn’t believe, we decided to stay anyway and had lots of wastage as we told them there would be.we know what ourselves and children can manage to eat. Had the bill at the end and when we looked at it they had charged us for drinks we hadn’t even had and instead of the meal deal they charged us seperatly each dish so it worked out a lot more expensive!! Felt like it was all about what money they can make If we want to share a dish between our children we should be allowed to otherwise Wer paying for food that we know will be wasted. Felt very awkward and annoyed! Won’t be coming here again!

As a person with a walking stick (due to health reasons) the staff here were very accommodating! I always have lamb biryani,saag paneer and onion bhajis at most Indian restaurants I go to. I couldn't find any faults with these dishes here! As a chef myself, I would recommend here to my fellow chefs!

Ordered a takeaway for the second time and the service was even worse than the first time. After 2 hours wait they said that our order had been left off the delivery. This was even worse than the first effort that took a mere 1 hour and 45 minutes. The takeaway delivery service is the worst I have ever come across and I have ordered takeaways for over 30 years.

Ordered at 6.30 for delivery at 7.30 , just driven over to restaurant to cancel order! Waste of time, I’d rather they had said unable to fulfil tonight as too busy, can’t afford to turn trade away…..won’t ever use again!

We preordered online earlier in the day for delivery at 7:30pm that evening. The delivery arrived 40 minutes late - not impressed. Food good once order arrived but we were all starving by that point and would have enjoyed it anyway!
