China Garden in Wealden

Ordered Off Uber eats. Was missing one dish, It was left outside my block of flats. With no contacts to letting me know. Also they rang the wrong flat. Food was awful. Cannot believe I paid £20 for two bad dishes.

Had beef & mushroom sweet and sour chicken with a side of sauce Friday night bland beef taste , shared it with my partner, by Saturday afternoon we both suffered diarrhoea and also through today Sunday the food was Honking, shall not go again 🤢 if I could put Zero review I would.

Would post zero if I could. This was the worst I have ever had. Won't go the again. Avoid at all cost. Chicken over cooked and hard. Satay was just slimy. Tasteless slop. Ribs over cooked. Dry and no meat on them. Chow mein tasteless watery noodles. Only thing we did eat was the soup. Rest of meal went in bin. Well overpriced. Never ever again..

Gave my wife a stomach ache. Has got a lot more expensive. Also the prawn toast didn't seem to have any prawn in it and was burnt. Used to really enjoy this take away. Gone down hill massively

Well... I don't agree with anyone who's given this place any less than 5 start! The food was fantastic, chicken balls were crispy not doughy and the meat was succulent. The crispy chilli beef was actually crispy and tasted amazing. A little pricier than some, but was it worth it? Oh yes! Definitely worth a visit, definitely count back

Whenever I visit my mum we get Chinese takeaway from here and it never disappoints. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is excellent and great value for money! Thank you team - looking forward to my next visit!

I'm afraid that, like the other reviewer who said they had a bad stomach, we have been up in the night with diarrhoea. We are fairly tough and fir, but it worries me if someone old or unwell had this experience. The food was lovely when we ate it and the delivery fine, but it has made me ill and it's now Sunday morning and I feel completely washed out.

We Got take away delivered Friday night both of us are still in bed with really bad belly and sickness 24 hours on

Dreadful..pork balls ineadable..tasted old and were black inside..chicken Hong Kong style old and chewey..chow mein vile, no soy sauce or seasoning..threw it all away..will NEVER use them again..foul

Ordered chicken satay tasted like sugar ++ excuse was we all do different.. no satay.. no recompense . Would not use again expensive as I only had rice!!

Food was so so bad, chow mein was so dry so I rang them and said there's no sauce he said it's normal and sauce has to be bought separate. I didn't even know that was a thing. Crispy chilli beef was lovely but the rest was bad. Wouldn't order again. Urban jade all the way!

Don't bother!!! My husband ordered the special curry and oriental spare ribs. The curry was bland, utterly tasteless and 90% onion! There was one piece of pork, a couple of prawns, plenty of chicken and two pieces of beef, which he spat out as it tasted weird. The ribs (see photo) were little pieces and there wasn't one bit of bone ~ it was mostly paddywack! I had special fried rice which was ok, and mixed battered balls. They were fine but i certainly won't be ordering from here again. Thank god for the prawn crackers, but they cost £2.20! After spending £38, you think they would have been free!

Oh my god. Third time I’ve tried. Second time I thought the first time was a one off and it still goes on. Never again. Cold food. Late by 40 minutes. I even ordered from somewhere else because of it. Tiny portions. 30 quid for about a 7-8 quid mean. Shocking. Do not order from here.

Mix up with opening times as advertised online. Good service and food but a bit light on the meat meals.eg pork chow mein probably had the equivalent of 1 small slice of pork.

Chicken curry was runny and lacked flavour... chow main was the same and the spare ribs were very fatty 🤮

Delivery lady extremely rude. Duck chow mein was greasy and flavourless, unpleasant texture. Ribs - I'm not sure if that was even meat, genuinely inedible. Chicken satay was nice and the sauce was lovely and sweet but I'm still hungry after £20s worth of food slid into the bin.

Awful, sweet and sour taste like a bowl of vinegar and rice was dried up grains never again!

Been using this Chinese takeaway for years and only ever had one problem and they were very good at correcting the error, we all make mistakes at times but China garden are very honest and would keep using them !

The food in our opinion has gone down hill. Way too much salt added, even to a plain chow mein, it went in the bin. Just a load of slop. Won’t be buying again.

Was honestly one of the most horrible tasting Chinese dinners we have had. The chips were stale, chicken curry was like water with no taste whatsoever, chilli beef was chewy and tasted horrid. Chicken balls dripping with grease. The whole lot has just been thrown in the bin and even the children refused to eat it. Won't be ordering here again. Such a bad experience considering I spent £40 I'm so disappointed.

Customer service is a lot to be desire. High demanding cuisine on Saturday evening but every time problem to place the order so you going to place the order by the door and it is still not possible. Well you win so you loose one. Too many times turn back on me with very poor customer service

Great quality dishes every time

I really can’t believe some of the reviews for China Garden. We have been enjoying takeaways for quite a few years. Granted the delivery can take longer sometimes but overall wow the food is yummy all the family like it - used to have bigger portions but overall faultless.

Sadly this was not a great experience. Ordered through Just Eat and took nearly 2 hours to arrive. It did arrive on time! Chow Mein was inedible, not even sure what was the foul taste? Curry was not "spicy" as advertised. Could not eat anything, as put off by taste of chow mein. Will certainly not order here again, nor will i recommend.

Food was disgusting. Inedible. Noodles rancid. Curry no taste at all. Will Definitely not be ordering from here again. A huge disappointment.

First time I've had a takeaway from china garden and it was really nice . I'll definitely be ordering again.

Ordered simple take away at 6.30 for two. Took 3 hours to arrive with no apology and it was mildly warm. Will not be ordering them again

Very, very, very good Chinese food! Not greasy or bogged down like it's full of msg. Everything I ate tasted fresh and was full of flavour! 10/10 would recommend!

Ordered crispy pancake rolls amongst other meals which were soggy, and had some strange sauce in them which completely ruined the taste of them and couldn't eat even a mouthful. Soups were very peppery. The other meals we ordered however were nice, the food hot and quick so hopefully this is a one off. Ive given two stars because the flavour of whatever sauce that was ruined someone's meal completely. We phoned and were offered one free pancake roll for the next order which doesn't really make up for the two which were ruined. On the whole, avoid the pancake rolls and go for the classic Chinese takeaway dishes and you should be alright

1st time ordering from here and shall definitely do so again. Food arrived 30 mins before expected,exactly what I ordered and piping hot, polite delivery lady. Had set meal for 2..only 1 thing, we were not keen on the spring rolls as they were quite greasy other than that food was delicious

Best Chinese I've had in Eastbourne!!! Order at 1659 on bigfoodie and was delivered in 25 mins. Very tasty food

After getting fed up of the limited vegetarian choices at our local Chinese decided to look a bit further afield. This is definitely worth it, we’re just outside their delivery area but worth popping out to collect. Good food and good range for vegetarians, it was by far the best Chinese meal we’ve had in a long time and will be using them in future.

I've struggled to find a good Chinese in the local area, this ranks up with most of them as being ok, can't recommend average places.

Best Chinese takeaway in Eastbourne. A little pricey but worth it. Can be a bit hot and cold on whether they deliver though if you don't live near them - if you're a bit further out delivery seems to depend on which way the wind is blowing.

Ordered and paid for. Told could be up to an hour waited 1.5 hours rung back but have no idea what we were on about but we're happy for us to collect. Haven't got food yet so could get worse £23.70 WANTS TO TASTE BETTER THAN THE BITTER TASTE I HAVE NOW . If only there was a 0 star rating

Found the member of staff extreamly rude!!, to later find out she is the owner!! Food was cold,order was in correct,when I mentioned it to her she was very argumentative,telling me I ordered wrong!!! Will Never be going back here again,there are much much better Chinese takeaway's in the area....very very rude lady!!!!

Staff are always friendly and the food is excellent always hot, and very tasty.

Very poor service, ordered food just before 7 waited till gone 9pm to see where I food was and got nothing but abuse down the phone trying to argue at what time we ordered £80 worth of food lost due to this joke of a take away. Steer well clear!
