Pub and bar hopping around this part of the city, my twin brother and I decided to drop by this Poundbakery outlet for a quick bite to eat, been here before, always had a positive experience and so it proved on our latest visit to here.
Your typical Poundbakery ,interior is neat and tidy, glass fronted serving counters showcase the goodies on offer and staff here are really nice.
We ordered cheese and onion slices ,served in no time at all, we munched away on our snacks by the Chester Cross, really enjoyed them, just what we needed to set us up for a good few hours.
This Poundbakery is easy to locate along Bridge Street.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Saturday, 8.30am till 5pm.
Sunday, 11am till 5pm.
Well worth checking out if you're in the mood for a sneaky pastry or three.
I came into black sheep coffee today and I was only expecting to order my drink and leave but instead I ended up having a chat with the lovely amber! What a lovely young lady she was!
There was also a very nice young man but I didn’t catch his name.
I will be returning for the best coffee and the friendliest staff! Perfect place to grab a coffee and have a little chat
Recently had a disappointing experience with Caprinos that left me shocked. The delivery driver was on time but was very rude. He couldn't find my house number on the street so called me on the phone. He asked me something which i dint quite catch, I replied with 'sorry?'. Out of the blue he called me a 'rat bastard' and hung up immediately. He then called me again after finding the house. Naturally, I emailed Caprinos about this but got no response from them. I called them up and the lady at the end of the phone didn't seem to take the situation seriously at all. She was dismissive and didn't even offer an apology for the drivers rudeness. She didn't listen to everything I had to say before she quickly cut the call too. Very disappointed. Will not be ordering again if they don't take customer concerns seriously.
So much choice you'd need a second visit to try everything on offer. The restaurant is clean and tidy and the staff are brilliant at keeping the place up to scratch. The food is lovely and considering this is an all you can eat buffet it's a good quality. Even though it was relatively busy when we went nothing ran out which is a credit to the team working there. The only reason it isn't 5 stars it that the seating area has too many tables, making you feel as though you are sitting with the people next to you.
We visited as a large group of 9 and they seated us without panic on a bank holiday weekend. The kids were excitable and enjoying themselves but the staff were endlessly patient, answering their questions and picking up dropped toys.
Super allergy awareness and reassurance of steps taken to avoid cross contamination.
Unfortunately the ice cream machine was not working properly, and peri peri fries were unavailable. The machine was producing runny ice cream which was the main draw for the kids so they were disappointed, but honestly the service is top notch here and I would strongly recommend for families.
I regularly visit this pub as its always a good experience. Good prices and good food, especially for the price. Staff are always great and make you feel welcome and are always willing to help
Barista Maestro Tom did a great job working through the queue despite being the only barista serving, he was helpful when I asked about the afternoon deal and was friendly. The WiFi at this Costa was pretty awful, but good other than that.
Had a fabulous bottomless brunch thanks to our server Sophie. She was very attentive and kept the drinks topped up. The service was fast friendly and the drinks were lovely too. Highly recommend for bottomless brunch and we would come again.
My friend took me here because it's the oldest pub in Chester (allegedly) but when we walked in there was a wall of noise. The bar staff had decided to turn the volume up to 11 and were playing what can only be described as ABBA on acid. Basically a techno beat to ABBA songs but not sung by the original group. Conversation was virtually impossible, so we had one drink just to say "been there, done that" but I won't be rushing back.
I was treating a friend to an overnight stay near Chester with the first day being spent on a shopping spree in the city, something that was long overdue thanks to the covid lockdown. I tried to find somewhere a little different for us to eat that lunchtime as the restaurant we would normally use had sadly closed permanently.
We found this a rather unusual place and opted for the tapas style small plates. With hindsight, we should have ordered less than we did as the portions were larger than expected. The decor was a little odd and not particularly to my taste. The service was fairly attentive without being over the top and as far as we could tell, all covid guidelines were followed.
