Nando's in Cheshire West and Chester

Had the great imitator wrap, Mac n cheese and Portuguese tomato salad

Bad treatment received at the reception by the waiter. Rude and seated other people before us who had arrived earlier. We finally decided to leave.

First of all I would like to make you all aware that we started off at Nando’s broughton and was greeted with the most worst news one hungry man could hear “ we’ve got no garlic bread” I you can imagine I fell to my knees in disappointment, we then decided to go to Chester Nando’s and we told them all about the experience we had just been though, they were very supportive and sat me down with a cold flannel and cradled me, they then brought me out some garlic bread to cheer me up! CHESTER NANDOS IS THE ONE!

Everything appeared to be in perfect order.

I am 4 months pregnant and called up for some advice on the coleslaw to see if the eggs were pasteurised (like any pregnant women would wonder before eating). The lady in the phone was so miserable and rude. She answered with “not sure” and made me feel stupid for asking such an important question. This is so unprofessional for a big food chain. Train your staff some customer service

Sorry but not my cup of tea. Will not be coming in a hurry.

Had a last minute late dinner here at the end of August and can’t praise it enough! The food tastes better than other Nando’s. I made a mistake with ordering the wrong Halloumi sticks and they refunded me the difference whilst still serving the initial order. My child had a problem with the taste of his chicken and they readily cooked him another portion. Very attentive and personal service that made our first visit to Chester positive! Thank you 🙏

Bottles of tomato ketchup were nearly emptied Staff floating around not doing anything not helpful at all we ordered a meal but had to pay separate for the chips

Shocking! First order placed didn’t go through. They informed us after 20 mins of waiting. Then it took another 20 mins after that. It’s filthy in there, cold and the smell of drains in off putting. Never again will I visit this branch again. Oh and staff can’t be bothered with you.

Good location, great service but chicken NOT HALAL. Vegetarian options were limited!

We were in Nandos, Chester on a cold & rainy day. We decided to sit at the back of the restaurant as there are only a few tables on the front that were suitable for a couple of people wanting a table for two. Additionally, we didn't want to be close to the door and feel colder when the door opens. Where we sat felt even colder. The toilets were upstairs but there was a foul smell that seemed to come from there and travel to the restaurant area. We couldn't move to another table as by this time the restaurant was full. The peri salted chips were cold and the rainbow slaw lacked flavour. I used to like dining at Nando's but after this experience, I would give it a miss. It's an expensive waste of money when customers are served average & unpalatable food. The whole dining experience, customer service, surroundings & restaurant cleanliness in my opinion, besides the food, matters. What's the point of eating out when these elements aren't met? I gave this review 2 stars as without the above average customer service we had, I would have given Nando's Chester, 1 star. The only pervading scent, in my opinion, should be the pleasant smell & aroma coming from my plate of food. I have been to other Nandos but this one, in my opinion, definitely needs a refurb and the toilets (if that's where the foul smell was coming from) reconfigured, if regular hygiene checks cannot solve this problem.

Called in on a Monday evening. They had no chicken or wings! So we left!

That wasn't my case at all. The staff was unfriendly when ordering. Tables weren't cleared for a long time, although there was time to chat, the presentation of the food on the plate wasn't nice... The portion size was ok and the taste of the chicken and rice was okay. The cole slaw, not so much. The cola you pour yourself had hardly any carbonation. I've been there, but I'm not going back.

Slow service. Put me in the back of the place having said they will look for a table despite 4 empty tables in the front of the restaurant. Only one till so when customer in front taking 10mins to decide their order no one else was taking orders. Food was fine.

Dirty place, dirty smelly toilets. Food was sooo unimpressive; dry chips, dry chicken and sweetcorn which kids refused to eat. Salad was soggy and old, and tomatoes were dried out. First and last time we will ever visit Nandos, can't believe a place like this is still open with so much competition.

Food was OK.. unfortunately nothing special any more. Went for the boneless chicken sharing platter with 4 sides. We got seasoned chips mash rice and coleslaw. The rice was underseasoned and hard. The mash was seasoned ok but dry. In all around £40 spent but left thinking was it worth the money... no not really.

We go to a lot of Nandos restaurants and its usually great quality. This was no different. What was different was the attitude of the staff at Chester Nandos. Top class, especially front of house and waitress. Made our daughter's night. So friendly.

I’ve not been to a Nando’s for a long time so decided to give it another go with a friend of mine. Unfortunately the experience wasn’t as I had remembered from the past, the theming (especially at the far back of the restaurant) is bleak and bare, there’s no warm ambience whatsoever compared to when I went in the past and it literally felt you were dining in a Portuguese restaurant. It could do with some sprucing up as parts of the restaurant look rather drab and dated. I’d suggest warmer lighting, more Portuguese decor, foliage, paintings, etc. When we got seated, we were told to use the app to order — however as we couldn’t connect to the WiFi, we had to go up an order, which isn’t a big issue in itself but with that kind of system it feels rather soul-less instead of having a waiter hand you your menu and you can actually have a conversation about what they could recommend. The staff there were fine and polite enough, I just find it a shame how you have to order using an app that struggles to connect to the WiFi in a restaurant in turn losing a personable charm of being served by an actual human. The food was sadly not up to my expectations, the only dish I did like was the starter — and those were the Halloumi fries. I also had the loaded wrap, which was the main culprit here. As soon as I took a bite, I knew instantly this was processed chicken and not fresh — which I know isn’t a big deal for some, but when paying almost £40, I expect something better than what you could easily buy from the meal deal section in Tesco. I went for the extra mild, so as my friend mentioned, the extra spicey sauces they do offer probably mask that specific taste — but if processed chicken doesn’t offend your taste buds, then by all means Nando’s isn’t the worst option out there. As a side note, when given our drinks, the glasses were piping hot as if they’d been taken straight out of the dishwasher — this on a hot day is not what you really want, but we didn’t want to kick up a fuss about this. I also feel that the restaurant itself is in need of some desperate TLC. For me personally, Nando’s has gone downhill in quality over the years along the likes of Frankie & Benny’s, so they need to step up their game. I won’t be returning, but I was happy enough to give them a shot and I hope they can make the improvements necessary to create a pleasant experience for their patrons going forwards.

Except for busy times, they definitely make very good chicken. Their spicy whole chicken is very delicious and filling.

Ordered a platter for 2. It was 2 pieces of chicken each. Might as well called it chicken and chips

I work in Chester in a Residential setting for children with autism. We have taken one of the kids here a couple of times and I cannot thank Eryk the staff member enough for showing us so much kindness and compassion and respecting our young persons additional needs. He has made our outings not only doable but enjoyable for our young person! Eryk has made such a difference to our young person’s life and for someone with not many friends, he knows he has a friend in Eryk and this has made the world's difference! We cannot thank you enough Eryk!

Went in very late on a weekday and Steph served me, she said she normally works at the Broughton store. She was very helpful and friendly! Quick turn around for food.

No people now, service is pretty much zero, food more average than it was and everything is awkward. Just a wholly unenjoyable experience, and it cost £60 for two adults and a baby. For what was once affordable eating out, it’s now just rubbish, essentially the Portuguese Franky and Benny’s. Sacrificing every USP they ever had.

All tables are dirty with plates and bones from past customers still on tables, no staff to put you at a table, management seems like it’s falling apart. Food was okay but come on Nando’s your better then this !

Our visit to Chester was greatly enhanced by dinnet at Nandos. The food was great but the reason I'm writing this review is because we were "blown away" by the exemplary service we were given by ERYK. He was amazing and engaged with us and spent time understanding our requirements, chatting with us and checking all was in order...one of the best examples of customer service I have ever experienced.

Absolutely terrible experience waited half a hour for our food. Unfortunately when it came wrong and undercooked chips, cold chicken burgers moldy lettuce

Awful, waited just over an hour for our mains.restraunt was half full at max. Chicken was still a bit pink and the pita bread was dry. Staff were like farts and didn’t look like they even knew where they were. Tables dirty and the place looked run down. Wont be visiting again and we heard a couple in front of us saying the same thing. Awful

Tried the full chicken and roulette wings.spicy rice, mac nd cheese and corn on the cob Chicken was fresh but taste was not worth the hype and felt overpriced. Wings were okay but some were over cooked and had a burned taste. Fries were good. Rice was good but very small portion size as side. Would recommend pepes peri peri over nandos as is more flavourfull and economica Service was good and staff are pleasant.

This was our first time visiting Nando’s in Chester & it was genuinely the best one we’ve ever been to. There is significantly better customer service and quality of food than your average Nando’s! The staff were all lovely, polite & genuinely seemed happy to be at work which is so nice to see. The food itself was delicious & served quite quickly after ordering & tasted much nicer than other Nando’s we’ve been to before. We would definitely come here again.

Always consistent food when going to any nandos and no difference here. Seated quickly and good service.

Took a bit too long to bring the food, but everything else was lovely! Friendly staff!

Staff were really slow clearing tables, meaning a long wait. The ice machine was broken, no gas in the drinks machine at first. Unless you are already in the city centre, it’s worth going to Cheshire oaks or Broughton instead

Was quite busy when we arrived so I can understand that staff may have been struggling but had a few issues here: Ordered peri chips but was given normal chips, when questioned, we were given some peri sachets to season ourselves, not sure if that's how it is now? Order came without one of our sides and was assured it would arrive soon. Ate half the meal before I questioned where the side was with the staff and assured it would be out soon once again. Finished the meal completely and waited another 10 minutes before giving up and left. I'd understand if it was still busy by then but the staff near the grill seemed more interested in talking about who was sleeping with who more than anything else. The chicken was cooked well though and very flavoursome so can't fault that. Drinks came quick but seemed a tad overpriced.

Loved the experience, chicken was proper and they let me fill the water cup with fanta.

The chicken livers are divine here, I can't recommend it enough.

The lad on front managed to squeeze 4 of us in withing 25 mins on a Saturday night fast service too!

We love our Nandos and this one is one of our favourites. The girl who welcomed us in, was friendly and very helpful. The food was spot on and cooked really well. Top marks from us!

If you dine at Nando’s the menu won’t surprise you but having dined in a great many Nando’s my local branch always delivers on the added value such as service and ambiance Located in the beautiful lower rows in the beautiful historic city of Chester The restaurant has a couple of steps down to a vaulted arched restaurant with the open kitchen area with a take away area located at the front If chicken doesn’t entice you I would recommend the grilled halloumi and chicken livers Service has never failed to impress and this Nando’s is a grade above most

We came here during the Christmas new year week. It was rammed. They were so busy. Yet the staff were so smooth. They stayed cool under pressure. They were so tired but the service level did not drop. Really really incredible team. Well done to all of you.

Personally, I did not like the food, and the employees' behavior was poor. I find a distinction between Asian and White... I believe authority should prioritize this.

Visited during a trip away with my family. Staff friendly. Digital order system at table. Our food took way too long to arrive considering there was only 3 of us dining. Food quality was okay, good portions, flavours a bit bland for me but maybe that's how the locals like it.

Not great, visited Chester Nando’s, because Ice machine broken was I asked if I could change my drink from a fizzy to cold bottled water, the staff member said yes but then I heard the “manager “ say something to the staff member who then told me they had no cold bottled water either ! Not great. Will not bother visiting again.

By far the most quiet nandos I’ve ever been too. Service was quick and as expected. Food portions were a bit on the bare side. For the price of nandos these days I was definitely expecting larger chicken and more chips. Was sat down the back out the way, walls were grubby unfortunately (sauce marks)

Very dirty around the floor area, this premises need a deep clean & walls need painting. It's looks out dated & and the floor area around the table looks very dirty.

The ladies toilets were dirty and sadly looked like they hadn't been checked, monitored or cleaned by the staff for hours.

The food was enjoyable, and the portions were good. Waiting for food is a bit longer. Good big space, and we were able to just walk in without booking,which is unusual for a big group. It was 8 of us. Service was pleasant, so it was a good meal. Toilets were clean.

No problems walking in and getting a table. Service good but to be honest you order on the app so there isn't much interaction apart from a table checkback. Food ok, nothing startling but then it is what it is for the price. Good to have the refillable drinks though.

The Deliveroo based order was delayed, delayed and then cancelled after the rider was apparently waiting at the restaurant.

They didn't take our order correctly at the till properly, so half our meals never turned up.. after complaining and getting that resolved, the meal that did arrive went stone cold, got no discount as compensation for being messed about, service was overall awful, would not recommend. Also the sunset burgers smoky red pepper chutney is not smokey, its spicy. Yeah, don't come to the nandos in Chester...

As a city centre resident, I go to Nando's in Chester, but I can never understand why there is always about 20 minute wait to be seated and yet there are empty tables that need clearing - one table took 7 minutes before it was wiped over and it didnt even have any dirty plates or glasses. Whilst waiting to be seated, it dawned on me why this was a problem. Its because they are not only serving the restaurant customers, but also dealing with deliveries and collections, hence the reason why there is always a delay from waiting to be seated to waiting on your order. This is not only a problem with Nando's Chester, but a major problem with Nando's nationwide. They either need to expand on the kitchen and recruit more staff or drop the delivery service altogether. Something has got to give or customers will go elsewhere.

1) For some reason this Nandos always comes up or shows as HALAL restaurant in all searches. But the food is NOT HALAL. 2) The rating is just for the sole purpose of rectifying this issue. The staff, service and atmosphere may be very good as I didn’t have anything from here for the above-mentioned reason.

Their service is amazing. The staff are super professional and friendly. The place has a nice atmosphere. It feels cozy and warm. Their chicken can be a bit dry, but it's full of flavor. The collection of sauce is amazing. Overall, it's a good place to eat.

Located in the heart of Chester. In fact in the heart of the town centre of Chester. We struggled with parking but eventually got that sorted. On arriving at Nando's Chester,a bit busy as usual.We waited for few minutes and got attended to. Got directed to a table that was not even cleared. I decided to nip to the toilet but very disappointed with the hygiene standard. A lot of the attendants were loitering around but the rest room was not up to standard, especially for a place dealing with food. I understand some customers are unkempt but nevertheless, the place should be kept clean and hygienic. I hope this will be addressed, and I will definitely be visiting again.

There are vegetarian options, I had veg burger, but it was kinda small and not as enjoyable. Burger king has twice as big burger and tastes much better.
