Still great wine. Still great food. Still great staff.

I had my first experience tonight an it was flawless. The atmosphere is so relaxing and staff were exceptional from start to finish. The choice of wine is one of the best in Cheshire and the quality of the dishes is absolutely perfect. We had around 8 dishes between us and the taste & flavours were amazing. I would highly recommend the duck breast with braised leak and honey jus. Thank you to all and I look forward to my next visit!

Delightful place. Always respect a restaurant with a small menu so you know your meal isn’t out of the freezer!!! Lovely food, friendly helpful staff, good fair priced wine selection (a massive selection if you want to wander round the wine racks!!). Defo recommend for civilised meal out.

What a gem!! Have visited a few times but last night was a different level. Lovely evening celebrating my wife’s birthday. Kate, our waitress was excellent - very knowledgeable and efficient - food was sublime. Three plates was plenty for me. The skrei, duck and lamb were my choices, all beautifully cooked and presented. Do not miss out the truffle and Parmesan chips - they are amazing!! Already looking forward to our next visit.

What a find! We only live minutes away and have for 25 years, but this was our first visit as we don’t drink wine so never visited as it was mainly a fine wine out,et we thought, OMG what have we been missing. Lovely inside, great friendly service but the food, the food, OMG! It was absolutely superb. Great craft beers and magnificent coffee, can’t wait to return, next time to sample the night time menu, just top marks!

Super restaurant, unique and special. Fabulous food last night! The miso skrei was superb, duck, lamb, featherblade all delicious! As for the chips…😋🤩 Kat was a supa waitress! We’ll be back 😊

Superb Sunday lunch for Sharing, (£55 a couple) superb beef and overal was enough of it, great yorkies and great roasties. But shy on vegetables for two people, especially as neither of us wanted the cauliflower cheese. (But the option of extra veges would have been nice) We had a lovely bottle of wine (12.50p corkage on a £17.50 bottle was a shock) and then a 10% gratuity on that as well as part of the overal bill, So if you are taking the £55 per couple option as that is superb value for two course. £27.50p each but the added on costs are great. We was offered some bread and olives as we waited, (as they cook the beef on order, 30 mins) would have been nice to have been advised what the costs were as the menus had been taken at this point. Superb food, service was ok (very keen to serve, so asked in the space of about 3 minutes if we was ready to order by at least 3 different people) so communications between staff needs to improved. Overall 4.5/5 or 9/10

Terrific food and wine (natch). We ate here last night: a typical “DryJanuary” evening. Although the restaurant was quiet, there was a warm, welcoming atmosphere and the food was epic. We took advantage of the “no corkage” offer of the day and enjoyed a very toothsome rose. We enjoyed everything especially the very friendly service.

The most delicious and spectacular Sunday lunch. Home made dessert. Wine is amazing and service is also comparable. Thank you for a lovely lunch.

Quality food & wine, very knowledgeable staff in all things gastronomie. Very large selection of super wines, just need a few more from Bekkaa Valley, small point as they are a super range of wines from an unheralded wine region

We haven’t dined here for a couple of years and we weren’t disappointed, Lovely small plate tapas. The Iberico pork is particularly good. The wine is great also!

The staff at Define are always attentive, lovely and friendly. The new winter menu is delicious, varied and well priced. Last night the ambience was wonderful. We absolutely love it here. My goodness aren’t we lucky to have this in Sandiway. I really can’t think of anywhere in Cheshire that is as good as this. We are so lucky. Happy Christmas everyone at Define 🎅🥂🎄

Went here with two friends for a drink and some food - the everything was great. The girls serving us were so attentive and chatty. The food (especially the prawns) were amazing. Would definitely come again!

Tapas bar and deli. Great stock of wines and cheeses. Restaurant attached serves good Tapas.

Lovely meal but was disappointed to pay £15 for 2 x scallops. That's £7.50 for 1 scallop which seems ridiculous. We should of said something at the time but we didn't want to ruin our meal/experience as we were on a date night! We eat out at a lot of resturants and do not mind paying higher prices for quality food but the ratio of £1 vs Scallops was a bit ridiculous. Pork, venison and croquettes were delicious. Wine was fab and service was OK.

A chance to catch up with family. The food was just wonderful, the service was very good and our young waiter Kieran was efficient and very pleasant. It was a Sunday lunch like no other and we had a doggy bag to bring home.! Thoroughly recommended but you do need to book early.

I only went in to buy some wine. Liam the wine buyer was extremely helpful in helping me select something for my palate. They carry a big selection of some pretty good wine. I ended up buying some cheese and bread from the deli to go with my wine. I will most definitely return.

Food was much too slow. The starters were the incorrect order but we waited so long we aye them. The main course took another 40 minutes and it is not good value for money.

Very nice interior, stylish furniture and lighting. Lacking atmosphere and very expensive imo. We had to ask for cutlery and napkins. I would prefer to give any tips based on service received, quality of food and overall experience however there was 10% added to the bill. I don’t think I will be rushing back

Lovely place, been a few times with my friend for lunch & also my fella for date night. Recently brought my recently turned 18yr old lad to give him an intro into some wine, it was lovely, we had a steak which never disappoints, the chips & peppercorn sauce are the nicest ever!

Saturday lunch. Hadn't planned this and just called in. You have to try the Picanha Steak. Just the best steak and chips (triple cooked of course). Stunning!

First time visit to Define and had a great lunchtime experience. The tapas was top quality and just that bit different to the norm. The team were friendly and welcoming and service was excellent. Will definitely visit again.

So sunny we ate outside, and enjoyed a top class relaxing meal for 3. Had friend visiting from London who is very used to fine dining, and he was very pleased with our choice eatery. The food was delicious and the service welcoming, and even our well behaved spaniel received attention with some little treats.

A joy to go to! Food is very good. Wines are amazing and the staff have fantastic knowledge and will help in anyway from purchasing a bottle to sampling a wide range to make sure you have a great experience. This is a must for people who love great hospitality

Went for Sunday lunch and can honestly say that I can't remember when I've had a better meal out. Food was cooked perfectly, staff were attentive and final bill was very reasonable. Will definitely be going again.

This was our first visit to DeFine. Liam was very knowledgeable and helpful while selecting a half case of wine for our eclectic tastes followed by a delightfully delicious lunch (chalk stream trout & courgette tart). Would highly recommend a visit.

A great local restaurant providing good value food. The main dishes are a sharing board and are great value with generous portions. Have eaten here a number of times and they have always provided great service and great food.

We didn't have the chance to try the food. We had to book in advance.

Excellent food and drink. Service a bit slow when we visited (lunchtime fathers' day). A slight mix up with the food (no biggy) but they handled the mistake very well. Recommended.

Sometimes great food and wine deserve a review - I have been here often and it deserves an exceptional review - forget Manchester and Liverpool and stay local

Relaxed atmosphere and great food abs wine. Lovely, smiley staff.

Always a pleasure purchasing some decadence from here. Never feel afraid to have a chat about the products on offer. If you're not a wine buff, don't be intimidated, ask and have a chat and you'll get some great reccomendations. Probably worth heading Iver every couple of months, stuff comes and goes as ia the way with a finite resource. Car park is a bit tight but 99% of the time you'll be fine - but Christmas rush will be tight, as will peak Friday/Saturday shopping times.

Wasn't in the restaurant, but spent ages looking at the amazing wines and dreaming of some that fell out of my price range. I got plenty of help choosing some new wines to me, from knowledgeable staff. The cheeses and fancy goods were both interesting and varied. Now I can say, very tasty too! If you want quality and something different then this place is a must. We'll done "Define", finding the tasty and unusual!

Probably my favourite place to eat! The food and wines are amazing (not a surprise!) But what I love in particular is the relaxing atmosphere.

This place is like a tardis, looks small from outside but really opens in up inside. Shelves upon shelves of every wine you can think of, gorgeous food stuffs, truffles, preserves, pasta etc, deli counter and a dining area. The food was lovely, small plates/tapas style. You can order wines by the glass in different measures to try a good range. Really lovely if you're into your wine and look forward to going back at Xmas time for plenty of stocking fillers.

Beautiful food, service with the drinks a bit slow

The venue is wonderful; we were lucky to have a gorgeous sunset, which we could see through the glass roof. The food was excellent, and the customer service was incredible! There is a huge variety of great wine, so choosing the right one can be tough. The staff, however, was very patient and walked us through the options. In the end, we were very happy with the wines (and food) we tried. Also good prices in the shop, so I also bought a white wine when leaving the restaurant, really great options! We ate plenty, drank more than enough (😄) and were very satisfied at the end of the night while spending only £40 pp. Can't recommend enough!

Great venue for coffee and pastries or something more substantial at lunchtime or in the evening. Superb selection of wines, and a good range of deli items too. Easy to find on the A556 at Sandiway with parking at the rear.

Authentic restaurant set in the heart of an amazing international, well selected and exclusive wine store. Absolutely fine food and the staff give you the attention to enable the experience to reflect the quality of the food and the products. The menu is set to be served for in pairs, couples there are delicious extras that you can other for a third person. We have tried most of their options and all super delicious. They will deliver to Cheshire if your order is above £100. The free car parking is convenient and the disable access is available. Truly recommend for a family visit or for a romantic exotic experience. They have in store humpers if you wish to create an exclusive gift.

Popped in for Sunday lunch and was not disappointed. We ordered the beef fillet to share and it was divine. The meat melted in your mouth and the portion size was just right. The wine, starter & service were all great too..... but the beef stole the show. Hats off to the chefs 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Superb. We came here for a meal for my cousins wedding. It really was excellent. Great staff (all wearing masks), super clean, the food was top quality. I didn't drink the wine or champagne that day because I was driving but everyone who did was very impressed. This is a definite 10/10

We we're looking forward to sampling the new menu this evening..Been many many times before, one of our favourite places to go..Why have they abandoned vegetarians with the new menu? Less choices than before and no real dish for us. We ordered all the dishes that were for vegetarians yet we still left hungry. We have lost now one of the places we loved to go. No criticism of the staff that waited on the tables..Prices have risen quite steeply too.. Sadly disappointed, not everyone eats meat..Sadly unimaginative for us.. Come on the people that own DeFine, you know us. We are good regular customers, we don't write this lightly. Give vegetarians a few more choices..

My Partner booked for four on Sunday 8th for Brunch and we were not disappointed, the food was beautifully prepared and presented and all party members thoroughly enjoyed their food, there was nothing left on the plates!, also the coffee and the tea were equally enjoyable as was the service from the Staff, very friendly however, the plastic chairs scrapping along the floor were rather noisy plus we had a party near to our table who were rather loud, had a job to hear ourselves speak, it is obviously an acoustic problem which may need to be addressed. We will return again but maybe on a different day and time

Lovely stop for Sunday afternoon brunch with a bottle of wine. Wine choice cannot be faulted and the food tasted great. Service was a little slow, however the restaurant recognised this and helped the situation as best as they could.

Our first night out since the easing of lockdown. Better than ever. Beautiful wines by the glass. The new menu is exquisite with lots of interesting, tasty foods. Define is the most stylish place within a 30 mile radius. Well done again!We look forward to frequenting this lovely wine and food heaven now that we can.

Love the deli food and relaxed atmosphere. Upmarket feel at reasonable prices. Somewhere very different from anywhere else in central Cheshire

Haven’t visited Define for a while & they’ve made a few changes. Although I understand these were to make themselves as Covid secure as possible it doesn’t feel like a compromise. The bar now at the end looks great & the blue paneling makes it feel warmer. The staff are all really friendly & they are clearly taking all the COVID guidance very seriously.But to the food... gorgeous duck croquettes with cherries ( few more cherries would be even better), substantial helping of perfectly cooked padrón peppers & duck with blackberries & really good pickled carrots. We also had pork belly which is served in thin slices so whilst it tasted great, it’s different to the way it’s normally served. Good, crunchy sweet potato fries. We finished with a cheese selection, three were very good but the fourth one was in quite thin slivers.As expected delicious wines! Sadly due to COVID closing times we couldn’t indulge in too many wines by the glass...maybe next time !

Very glad to have returned here since reopening and it not disappoint in either the food or wine department. Always a pleasure eating here and will be back soon.

We absolutely love this place. The last time we visited was just before the 2nd lockdown. The food was gorgeous as always and the service was great too. It’s the only place that we will eat at as we have been so disappointed with other local restaurants. It’s also our 4 year old sons favourite restaurant, he loves the pizzette and duck (when it’s available) and always has a glass of milk and ice cream to finish. We have booked already for the 2nd weekend in December and cannot wait, we have missed you.(We also think that the changes that have been made to make it COVID safe are an improvement, well done x)

One of our favourites in Cheshire, always beautiful wine, food& atmosphere. Not only that, but we went to the shop during lockdown looking for horseradish for the roast we were cooking at home and, as they unfortunately didn’t sell any, the chef gave us a little pot from the kitchen for free! Such a lovely place :)

Myself and my parents came for brunch today and as always the service was welcoming and friendly and the food was delicious. We have visited many times in the last few months as have always felt it was a safe environment to relax in.

Came here on Friday night for dinner. The staff were so helpful and friendly and gave really good wine recommendation. The food was delicious, especially loved the prawns and the croquettes but everything was so good! Really nice relaxing atmosphere too. Will be back, some of the best food I’ve had in ages.

The new (COVID friendly) Sunday lunch was a triumph. We had the Cote de boeuf and the chicken. Both dishes were exceptional especially as they were accompanied by a couple of chilled Weetwoods and a glass of wine. The service was excellent - everything served with a smile. Absolutely nothing to fault - it was a great Sunday lunch with the family.

Had the loveliest meal this evening topped with a wonderful bottle of red recommended by the talented Sommelier Dave and followed through by all the front of house staff led by Hilary . One of the few restaurants who understand the difference between a virus and bacteria. All the furniture is sanitised with an antiviral spray and social distancing is good. We feel safe and relaxed here and will certainly return.If you can’t make it to the restaurant, try the new take out service. You won’t be disappointed.

Stylish restaurant in a great wine shop. In spite of COVID restrictions (reassuringly comprehensive) the welcome is warm, the menu of small plates is both innovative and delicious and the choice of wine amazing. A sophisticated but unpretentious gem which has never failed to please. A pleasure to be able to support local enterprise.

Fabulous place. We went for Brunch and really enjoyed it. Food was delicuous & lovely staff. Will be back to try the evening menu.
