I was drinking with friends and some friends drunk girl bumps into me and then i am getting escorted out, I have had 3 drinks all night but the bouncers say I’m drunk just for standing there. Sexiest and racist bouncers. Then they tell me to go back home because I’m not British. Absolutely despicable.

First time visit. 6 of us were told to take a seat as its table service. Virtually empty at first. Had 2 cocktails each not cheap about £11 a drink. Went to pay and issued with a £33 service charge. Absolutely refused to pay as it was getting very busy and most people ordering at the bar. We were told we couldn't. Disgusting rip off.

I was served by a lovely guy called mike. Honestly never met such a lovely person in my life. What an angel!

I was charged £44 for 3 drinks which would have totaled to be £31 separately, but with the 2 for £15 cocktails the price would have come to £25. I was overcharged by £19 and when I went to enquire about the added charge the staff insisted that the extra £19 was a service charge. I was out with friends and and at most their service charges were less than £5.

Visited the new venue on St John Street in Chester and it was great, big and bright. A huge improvement, very open and welcoming. We were served by Shaf, he was lovely. Asked if we had any questions about the menu and cocktails and was very knowledgeable. He was very friendly and chatty, a credit to the place. We will definitely visit again.

We like to have fun at Red Door and find it friendly. We also work in the same industry. They did not give us beer even though it showed that we paid for it on the receipt. I paid 10 pounds and they gave me 3 pounds change for 6 pounds of beer. The bar staff are trying to hunt drunk people! be careful

The club was closed when we came by, but I was very attracted to the eye-catching signage and exterior decor.

Amazing cocktail master class despite a little mix up with our booking this weekend for a hen party. The manager (Pidge?) Was apologetic and gave us complimentary prosecco for the delay in the class starting which went down well with everyone! Master class- Luke was really knowledgeable about all the cocktails and also had a fab sense of humour! Also we loved having the private room to ourselves for a little dance in-between drinks! Would definitely recommend this place!

Always a top place to visit. Having the bar in the middle always feels better. This I can't explain. Always worth a visit when in Chester.

I couldn’t emphasises the fact that one star isn’t low enough. After attending a lovely day out in Chester with my organisation we decided to come to red door before heading out. The bouncers are narcissistic bully’s looking for any girl with a pulse. One of our staff members who is a young male was bullied out of the toilets after blowing his nose (due to a long winter cold) we are a Christian organisation and didn’t approve of the treatment declaring he was taking illegal substances. We asked for proof and aggression was the answer. The standard of customer service is poor and the bar/security staff are a bunch of hooligans. There was one particular steward/security with a mullet asking individuals for fights. Some dignity and passion wouldn’t go a miss with the staff. If you are looking for a higher class well organised night red door Is the bottom of your list. This is by far the worst experience i have ever received and further action will be taken.

Good selection of drinks available. Fun place, toilets well maintained. There's stairs to get down tricky for anyone with mobility issues. Dj playing dance music.

Someone else vomited and I helped, that was enough for me to get kicked out. I was ready to leave peacefully, just wanted to take my purse and go. But they wouldn't let me and I was violently dragged out even though everyone knew I was sober! Manager and bouncer were very rude. Had to wait outside without my money and jacket for no reason. In front of the door someone attacked me and my (female) friends and tried to beat us up. I get the bouncer didn't help because it was outside but there was no need to make fun of me for trying not to get beaten up by some drunk stranger. We politely asked if they could help the drunk guy find home because he could barely stand and the bouncer just made even more fun of me, literally hate this guy. Never ever again!

Actually one of my guilty pleasures this place. We've ended up here twice after Xmas parties and it never fails to entertain. Small bar but you never really wait that long for drinks. If it's a choice of this place or Rosie's, this place wins every time. The door staff at Rosie's actually tell you to go here instead of there, says a lot!

Shame they tried to palm us off with half portions of espresso martinis until we highlighted the point...Bar is alright...seems to try to be posh and ends up with a pretentious / want to be posh crowd mix

Absolute joke booked this for my fiances birthday they weren't even open on the alloctated time, even after rwcicveing the confirmation emails just bad service... nott good at all!

Pretty much the only bar we found for a late drink. It was an alright place I guess. Plus the staff we're fast at service even when the place was really busy so even better for that.

Got a table which was sticky and dirty, had it wiped but still not much better. Returned later as was next to our hotel and sat in one of 3 empty tables. After half an hour some girl with no personality came over and told us we needed to leave the table as ‘she had a group waiting to sit there’ ! No reserved signs or indication that anyone was going to sit there! We asked her where were the signs and she ran off to her manager who then came over. What a sham, hardly anyone in and yet moving people off tables as they were “reserved” I’m still wondering why you would reserve a table here anyway, what a joke! Great way to treat your clientele! Kids eh?! ...

Completely useless. Don’t bother. The employees caused injury to me with no reason. Not a place that reflects the normal personality of the UK.

Overall Amazing, bouncers were friendly and polite. When we got a table, we were given time to look through the menu, and someone came over to take our order and give us the drinks (which we didn't expect). The music was varied from a range of eras creating a relaxed/ dancing vibe

Bar is open late and we usually end the night here. There are a few booths, and there is usually a DJ with good music.

Slow service at the bar and fed up of getting a door slammed into mine and my girlfriends back on the dance floor so that the bar backs can get too a back room, this door should have a viewing window so that they don't knock someone out.

First visit to this place... 5 of us girls enjoyed a good dance and really enjoyed ourselves once we got inside.... had to queue for a while as there were a lot of punters being thrown out by police... it was race day and obvs loads of people been on it all day and by 11pm pretty wasted!! From what I witnessed too... the doormen handled disgruntled party goers professionally .. by not rising to their goads! It’s small and cosy .. the way I like it! Good mix of age groups and music RnB and old skill dance 👌🏽.. really liked it and would go back for sure :) even got my 2drinks replaced as they’d been taken away by mistake 👌🏽✔️

Bald 50+ bouncer no family or kids at home just trying to make every ones life miserable. Because no I’d closer to 40 than 18! Just after a weekend away with the misses

The bouncer denied entry to this ‘bar’ because my friend was wearing ‘sports gear’ and would therefore cause ‘problems’ in the ‘bar’. Complete joke. After trying to speak to the bouncer, who was also rude; we moved on to another bar. He mentioned some dress code which I cannot find anything about on their website. Avoid this place at all costs.

Lovely music, good drinks (except the whine) but the bald security outside is the most horrible person ever, he will speak to people in the most rude way, and that is even if you are lucky to get an answer instead of the rude look he gives people

So expensive and cocky Doormen. Not even that much of a nice place inside. I was shocked at how expensive this gaff is.

Mediocre and uninteresting place, music not great and too loud its hard to chat properly anywhere. Drinks are expensive. On a positive note it's usually free entry.

Hidden gem in chester when it comes to dancing bars, red door got it just right. I love going there when I want a night out but don't want to go in a club. The dj there always does the job and it's enjoyable to dance and drink in this tiny place.
