The best restaurants in East of England

Best restaurant there is! Food is fresh, and every dish has a distinguished taste. Making a reservation was extremely easy. Upon arrival we were welcomed and seated immediately, Abbie was friendly and efficient. Food is simply the best we have ever tasted drying our stay in Southend on Sea. Service was absolutely flawless throughout our dinner. We were looked after Allana and we were happy to follow her recommendations. This restaurant is definitely worth visiting when in Southend on Sea.

After our Sunday morning swim, we always need breakfast! We usually have breakfast in Cromer as it’s on our way home to Northrepps. This morning we decided to have breakfast at the corner house tea room for a change and WOW! What a lovely surprise and experience. First impression was great, our young waitress was lovely, very engaging and bursting with enthusiasm, made us feel valued and very much at home. Fast service and so friendly. It felt very professional, fast flowing and free moving…… busy with a smooth turnover of customers. The breakfast was cooked exactly how I requested and, we left with full bellies 🤣 No panic, dramas or stress. My new favourite place, sincere thanks.

Vaya. Absolutamente superó todas mis expectativas. Tenemos la suerte de vivir cerca del maravilloso Moor Hall, pisotón de Mark Birchall y tiene equipo y restaurante 22 ticks cajas muy similares. Decoración y vibra - brillante. Personal - excelente. Carta de vinos - extensa. Alimentos - 10 / 10. Absolutamente no vacila en dar crédito donde se debe. El pan de brioche... wow - aún soñando con esto y comprando abundantes cantidades de mantequilla para intentar replicarlo en casa (¡sin éxito! ) Me volví vegetariano y el risotto de hongos era un plato de belleza. El helado en una oblea era la materia de los sueños y para mis compañeros comensales - aparentemente el pato era "perfección". Vaya a visitar - buena cena en su mejor momento.

Very much enjoyed this place. Great food. Nice staff. Only thing that annoyed me was when asked what bottle of wine we wanted, i replied the cheapest at £24. The waiter tried to order me a £35 bottle. Hate this kind of crafty up selling. But apart from that a great night, will return soon

We were surprised by how small and intimate it was, a couple of dishes were off the menu due to supply issues but that can't be helped. All the food was freshly cooked and the service was excellent, in a small place it can be overbearing but it wasn't at all. Tucked in the original side streets this place is a gem!

Wow Wow Wow their food is insane!! We had the roast sharing platters for £24pp and they were so worth the money! It wasn’t even just the food it was the service that came with it you feel part of there family being there. It was our first time here and definitely not the last we loved that Ruth and the team took their time to actually talk with us and checked up on us at every point they could. We cannot wait to come back Thankyou so much we left the hub very happy!

I was in the The Marlowes, starving hungry and came across Yugen restaurant; A young male greeted me whilst I was reading the menu on display. After taking a seat I ordered the Korean chicken burger and fries. The meal was delicious and hot and arrived in no time at all. I will be a regular customer from now in a place where the staff are lovely and take great pride in their food and what they do.

We visited from Norwich today for the first time. What a lovely place. Everyone was very friendly, the food was really delicious and the environment is so comfortable. Will certainly add it to our list of favourites. Do make the trip you will love it.

Lovely coffee Friendly staff Excellent choice of delicious looking cakes- which I managed to resist! but enjoyed the chocolate that came with the coffee Our second visit and will return on the next visit to Holt. Toilets available.

We travelled to Cambridge and my young son was extremely keen to try Africfood given the reviews. What a terrible experience. For £7.50 you get one piece of goat ' meat' ( bone surrounded by a minuscule amount of meat) with a lot of rice. He was extremely disappointed and I was kind of furious. This is really a bit of a scam. In a market with lots of amazing food stalls, why would anyone spend their money here for a ridiculous amount of goat curry.

A massive thank you to Ashley and his team for all they did to ensure our daughter and her now husband had the most wonderful wedding day. I know the weather wasn’t what we wanted but that really didn’t spoil the day. Ashley ensured the pre wedding preparations and everything on the day went perfectly and most importantly that they had the chilled, relaxed day they had wished for. Ashley’s calm, organised and flexible approach is perfect and made everyone feel everything was under control and there was no need to worry about a thing. Thank you so much

Amazing food with even better service. The staff were so welcoming, extending our reservation longer so we could enjoy the atmosphere even more. The food was delicious, fresh and very tasty. I would recommend the Rose and Crown to anyone wanting a filling meal in a pub with cosy and friendly atmosphere.
