The best restaurants serving Seafood food in East of England

Walked 30km to get here and it did not disappoint. Tried a lot, but the pickled Herring and Noon Tart were my favourites.

It's not as famous as meeting me. I've wanted to eat there for a long time, but never met me. Because I was closed on Sundays, I just passed by each other every time. I made a special trip to visit today and saw a lot of regular customers. I ordered thin French fries and thin fried fish. It turned out that they are fried to order. I thought It’s hard not to make the batter crispy, but the cod fillet is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It’s spicy and delicious. It’s definitely the best fried fish and chips. The owner is friendly and gave me two hash browns, which warmed my heart. ah!

Just had an amazing meal with friends. Food was very good sized portions and tasted delicious. Almost felt like we were back in Portugal. Highly recommend. Will definitely go back.

It's one of the best places I have eaten. The food is superb and the service is very good. A must to visit and dine there. Will be coming again for sure

Lovely evening, dancing n drinking to a DJ. Prices not bad, bar area quite small n cosy, upstairs toilets lovely .

Just grabbed 2 cod and chips from Henry Higgins and as usual absolutely banging!! Huge portion, cooked amazingly, not greasy at all. Succulent cod in a super crispy batter and the best chips in southend. Amazing value compared to the other chip shops around. If you really appreciate decent fish and chips don't bother going anywhere else use these guys, you will not be disappointed.

The best fresh fish and chips in Newmarket don't go anywhere else and trust me when I say try their curry sauce

Unfortunately has new management, was really good under the previous guys, but these guys don't seem to know what that are doing. Slow service, asked for plain burgers and got salad in them all... won't be going back.

What a gem this place is. I was staying at the Premier Inn for work and originally planned to eat in the hotel. But their restaurant was closed so I came here, and I'm so glad I did! Next time I stay at the Premier Inn I'm definitely eating here again! I love the fact that it's properly ON the beach. It's rustic and authentic and the food was delicious. Best atmosphere and best food in Southend!

This is the first time we have been to this restaurant and will definitely be going back. The food was amazing, freshly cooked and the staff really friendly and nice. If you want authentic Thai food, this is definitely the place.

Arrived close to closing time. The food , traditional haddock and chips was amazing . Made to feel very welcome . The waitress was a perfect host and very professional . Thank you for not rushing me and the top class service
