The best restaurants serving Seafood food in East of England

2 stars for not showing correct time. Says open when in fact it’s closed.

Truly superb. I visit every time I'm in the area! The Noon Tart is to die for!

Absolutely lovely in there, the owners are so nice and had a chat as they wrapped my chips up, first time there but definitely going back. Easy to get to from the surrounding area and a lovely area to sit in and eat if not taking away. They know the regulars well and always happy to see newcomers which was lovely.

Just had an amazing meal with friends. Food was very good sized portions and tasted delicious. Almost felt like we were back in Portugal. Highly recommend. Will definitely go back.

Fabulous gluten free fish and chips. Batter was light and crisp. Chips absolutely the best. Friendly, efficient staff. I'll be going back!

Lovely evening, dancing n drinking to a DJ. Prices not bad, bar area quite small n cosy, upstairs toilets lovely .

Sad that they are closing after all these years. Always Friendly and with good quality fish & chips.

Sadly disappointed. Wanted a couple of pots of whelks but advised we’re still frozen. As were the prawns & cockles. It was 1pm.Chise to have a bag to go. While waiting asked for 2 oysters to enjoy at the small stand up table. Oysters were opened and prepared and offered to me on nothing. I asked if there was a plate and after waiting the oysters were again offered this time on top of a square metal pot of ice. They were delicious. I also noticed how other customers had the same frozen issues with one electing to have crab/fish sticks. The sticks were picked up by hand and bagged as the gent serving did not seem to know another way.

Just grabbed 2 cod and chips from Henry Higgins and as usual absolutely banging!! Huge portion, cooked amazingly, not greasy at all. Succulent cod in a super crispy batter and the best chips in southend. Amazing value compared to the other chip shops around. If you really appreciate decent fish and chips don't bother going anywhere else use these guys, you will not be disappointed.

Don’t believe the haters. Haven’t been here in a while so was a little cautious with the recent reviews. Anyway turns out they do the most amazing cod and the batter was super crispy. Great chips too and just the way they should be - chunky and fluffy. Will be back again….

Lovely place to have a Spanish beach feeling..

Poor quality chips and portions. Sausage was like rubber. I know it’s late afternoon but for the price I was charged should be better
