Visited Oysters with my partner whilst staying in Braintree looking after our friends pets when they were on holiday. This restaurant was recommended to us and we were not disappointed. We ate in the restaurant next to the take-away and ordered cod, chips, mushy peas, side of onion rings along with a pot of tea for my partner and (as they are licensed) a bottle of beer for me! Our food was cooked fresh to order, very generous sized portions, served piping hot and absolutely delicious. Lovely crispy batter on the fish, with perfectly flaked fish underneath and superb chunky chips. Our server (Bruno) was very polite, friendly and attentive and this added to our experience of dining there. There are toilets available (although you have to climb a flight of stairs) and they were very clean. If you are driving there, you can park in Sainsbury's car park (1 min walk away) for free after 18.00, or it's just £1.50 for 2 hours to park during the day. The prices charged are reasonable and we will definitely visit again.

One of the best fish and chips place I've frequented. High quality, very consistent over many many years, very friendly staff, and the place simply looks inviting. They have continually improved the way they operate, including the ability to order using web. The experience is better, way better than the likes of Domino's.

My father and I recently dined at this spot nestled on Mill Road. Having hastily unpacked my room for university, my father and I trekked over Parker’s piece to Fin Boys. We had both long wanted to try this restaurant however one of our family has a fish allergy thus we had previously admired from afar. The reputation preceded it and we were excited, if not a touch apprehensive, to see whether our lofty expectations could ever be matched. Spoiler, they were. The food was impeccable and the complementing wines were a real treat. We opted for two small plates and two large plates which was more than enough food for two people. The dishes were incredibly rich and the quality of ingredients meant you were sufficiently satiated. The vibe inside the restaurant was relaxed and pleasant, with each member of the team taking their time to enjoy genuine conversation with the diners at chefs table about each dish coming out. Whilst the menu is on the expensive side, I believe this a very fair price for the quality of produce and the high standard of work. Finboys is conscious of its quality and I respect any business that doesn’t set its stool out too low. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to celebrate an occasion and I can’t wait to return.

Second visit for the amazing Afternoon Tea. You get a choice of 4 different sandwiches (roast beef, cheese and pickle, egg and lettuce and the original English favourite Cucumber), along with a lovely bite size warm sausage roll. The stones are huge, soft and come with not only your individual Tiptree Jam but also the Clotted Cream comes in it’s own little jar from a company in Wiltshire. Never seen this before. The selection of cakes is mouthwatering. Tea and Coffee as requested along with a large bottle of chilled water, ice and lemon slices. My personal opinion of the From Eden afternoon tea is that it really is on par and of the same quality as the one offered at the nit too far away No 1 hotel in the Southeast for half the price.
